Greater San Diego will rapidly become warmer than normal following several days of cool temperatures and light, sporadic showers, says the National Weather Service.
A high pressure system is moving into Southern California and will lift San Diego’s daytime high to 72 on Wednesday, 78 on Thursday and 85 on Friday. The seasonal average is 66.
The temperature is expected to be 75 when the Padres begin play against the San Francisco Giants at Petco Park at 7:10 p.m. on Friday.
Temperatures also will soar inland. Escondido will reach 76 on Wednesday, 86 on Thursday and 94 on Friday.

The weather will be distinctly different from Monday and Tuesday, when a weak storm from the Gulf of Alaska generated drizzle in some areas and brief, light-to-moderate showers elsewhere.
