Great Falls City Commissioners moved unanimously to approve the conditional use permit for the Aim High Big Sky aquatics and recreation center to be built in Lions Park during their meeting Tuesday night.
The facility, designed by LPW Architecture and TD&H Engineering, is set to incorporate pools for both recreation and Malmstrom Air Force training, as well as a gym facility and indoor track. Construction drawings for the project are to be submitted in August so that it can be put out for bid and be shovel-ready by September, according to LPW principle architect Tim Peterson during his presentation. The team will have five years to complete construction, but Peterson said it would likely take less time.
