ALBANY, N.Y. (WHEC) — A bill aimed to help strengthen and secure grease traps at restaurants is on its way to the Senate after being unanimously approved by the Assembly Wednesday.
who fell into and drowned in a Tim Horton's grease trap on Unversity Avenue in 2019. The trap had been covered with only an unsecured plastic lid.
If it became law, it would require grease traps to be designed to withstand a certain weight, as well as prevent unauthorized access.
