Gravel quarry project near Kelowna, B.C., rejected by regional district

On Thursday, the Regional District of Central Okanagan voted unanimously to reject the proposal submitted by Westridge Rock Ventures Ltd. to build a 30-hectare quarry east of Kelowna, B.C. District directors say they don't support the project due to enormous opposition from residents in the Joe Rich area.
