Grand Rapids Parks Plan Clean-Up For Earth Day
First celebrated in 1970, Earth Day is a global celebration to show support for environmental protection. In Grand Rapids, more than 30 projects are planned on April 16th and 17th for "It's My Park Days" just ahead of Earth Day. Events will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Picking up trash, spreading mulch and preparing flower beds for summer are some of the activities planned by park ambassadors. Stephanie Adams, Friends’ executive director told Fox 17,
"Our parks have seen record numbers of users this past year and volunteer projects like ‘It’s My Park Days’ bring neighbors together in celebration of these special, shared spaces."
