In honor of Native American Heritage Month, the Grand Rapids Children’s Museum is hosting a month-long exhibition that recognizes Jessica A. Rickert, DDS, (Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation), who is the first Native American female to become a dentist. When became a dentist in 1975, she became the second Native American to become a dentist. This month's exhibition is called “Celebrate Native American Heritage Exhibit.”
