New Delhi: The government has finally decided to wind up two ailing public sector companies — Scooters India and Bharat Pumps and Compressors- having failed to find suitors for the two PSUs headquartered in Uttar Pradesh.
According to a report in the
Times of India, the issue of Scooters India’s closure was listed for discussion in Wednesday’s cabinet meeting. Several efforts have been made in the past to find buyers for the two entities but they have not yielded any results. The department of investment and public asset management (DIPAM) has also taken a view that any of the loss-making PSUs on the list would be recommended for closure after making all out efforts to find buyers.
