Govt extends Covid-19 curbs to four more provinces

The government has extended the micro-scale Covid-19 restrictions from May 31 to June 14, and expand the measure to four more provinces, an official said.
“The restrictions are also applied to Gorontalo, Maluku, North Maluku and West Sulawesi provinces, ” said Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto yesterday.He pointed out that the new daily cases of Covid-19 infections this week increased to 5,000 per day, compared to those of last week of 3,800.Meanwhile, the government is also anticipating a spike in Covid-19 cases after the Aidilfitri homecoming season, which was estimated to last for the next four to five weeks.
