New competition designed to demonstrate how supply of the low-carbon fuel can be ramped up in response to growing demand
The government has launched a £60m competition for innovative hydrogen production, storage, and transport solutions, as part of its effort to accelerate the development of the UK's nascent hydrogen economy.
Funding for the Low Carbon Supply 2 Competition, which opened for applications on Friday, comes from the government's Net Zero Innovation Portfolio, a £1bn fund earmarked for supporting the development of technologies that can help the UK meet its 2050 net zero emissions target.
