Gottlieb: South African COVID Variant Could Be Causing Mild Illness

According to the World Health Organization (WHO) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the new Omicron variant of COVID-19, which originated in South Africa seems to be more transmissible, but former FDA Commissioner Dr. Scott Gottlieb said Sunday that, so far it seems to be causing mild illness.
