In an effort to connect Louisville's homeless population with more services, a van funded by Goodwill Industries of Kentucky is set to hit the streets in a program that would transport participants to job sites in exchange for stipends, housing and other services.
The initiative, Another Way, is an eight-week program that begins Tuesday and will run through May.
A van will travel through the city, attempting to move unhoused people from streets to job sites to perform tasks, such as landscaping, trash pickup and assisting with COVID-19 vaccination efforts.
Those who participate will receive a $50 stipend for five hours of their time.
