Earlier this year, the Broward County Commission awarded Good Karma Pet Rescue a lease to reopen and operate the shuttered county animal shelter located in Pompano Beach. This represents a partnership between Broward County Animal Care and Adoption and Good Karma Pet Rescue, with the aim of finding homes for the most vulnerable dogs and cats pulled from the main County animal shelter. Good Karma has spent the last 10 months renovating the building and training volunteers.
On Dec. 19, Good Karma Pet Rescue is hosting an adoption event at Good Karma Pet Rescue, with the goal of placing as many pets in homes as possible before the year ends. This event will also be the FIRST invitation to the public to visit the facility. Most of the event will take place outdoors where attendees can socially distance, but masks will still be required. Tours of the adoption center will be available and attendees will have the opportunity to meet adoptable cats, kittens, dogs, puppies, bunnies, and guinea pigs, as well as get in some last-minute holiday shopping at the featured vendors.
