Gnomes join Whangamomona Republic's presidential race

Current president John Herlihy and his rival Bryan Ramage are looking forward to the Whangamomona Republic Day election on Saturday.
A trio of garden gnomes is contesting the Whangamomona Republic Day election on Saturday.
The biennial vote is held on the anniversary of the republic being formed in 1989 after locals revolted against regional boundary changes that meant their town was no longer part of Taranaki and would be classed as Manawatū/ Whanganui.
