Glendale police released edited footage showing what led to the fatal police shooting of 28-year-old Maxwell Davis after police say he was "simulating a handgun" in May.
Police responded to a report of a robbery at a convenience store near Grand Avenue and Bethany Home Road on May 9. Davis threatened to shoot the clerk and others, stole a few items from the store and left on foot, according to police.
After officers located Davis, they fatally shot him after they say he verbally threatened police and held his hands out "as if using lethal force against them."
In edited police footage, surveillance video from the convenience store showed Davis, who is seen wearing a hat and a white shirt, enter the store and approach the clerk at the counter. The clerk said in the video, "so you're going to shoot me then?"
