THE owner of a puppy left "covered in blood" after a hit and run has launched a hunt to find the person responsible.
Vinny - a four and a half-month-old miniature dachshund crossed with an English bull terrier - was found injured in Arcadia Street after he was run over by a van at 2pm yesterday.
His owner Emma MacKinnon said: "He was in the vet hospital all last night and back in the vet today but somehow he has managed to get away with no internal injuries and no broken bones.
"He has quite deep wounds that we will need to keep an eye on, but apart from that, he's alright.
