Oquawka, Ill.- The Henderson County Sheriff's Office has announced the arrest of a Gladstone man for multiple felony charges. On Sunday, January 30th, 2022, at about 2:37 pm, authorities received a call from a rural Biggsville resident stating there was a burglary in progress at their residence. The caller also stated their dog had just scared the suspect off and the suspect left walking across the cornfield. Sheriff's Deputies and the Oquawka Police Department responded to the area. Footprints were located in the snow and the Sheriff's Auxiliary K9 was deployed. The K9 was able to track the suspect and flush him out of a wooded area to a Sheriff's Deputy, where he was taken into custody. The dog also located items stolen during the burglary. 26-year-old Kurt W. Scott of Gladstone, IL was arrested for Attempted Residential Burglary, 2 counts of Burglary, Criminal Trespass to Vehicle, Theft, Possession of Burglary Tools, Resisting a Peace Officer, and Possession of Methamphetamine. Scott is currently in the Henderson County Jail awaiting a court appearance.
