In November 2019, the Smithsonian magazine, of which I am an avid reader, published an article about the island of St. Helena and its connection with one of the most famous men in the world: Napoleon.

The home of Fredrick and Agnes (Walker) Mayhew in Thamesville. Agnes Walker's father, a physician, attended Napoleon while he was in exile on St. Helena's. Napoleon died 200 years ago, on May 5, 1821. Agnes Mayhew's Walker family owned one of Napoleon's uniforms, as well as his hammock, which she was apparently rocked in when she was an infant.
