Veteran Scouter Marvin Gibson was recently recognized with a 75-year pin from the national council of the Boy Scouts of America. He began Scouting in Illinois in 1945 as a Cub Scout and came to the Upper Peninsula as one of the first airmen assigned to K. I. Sawyer AFB. He has been a prominent Scout leader in the area since then, serving many years as Scoutmaster of Troop 305, the first troop in the U.P., and as a volunteer member of the staff at Camp Hiawatha in more recent years. His highlight experience in Scouting was serving as the Scoutmaster of the 1960 National Jamboree Troop and he enjoyed visiting recent Jamborees with his son. His wife, Lois Gibson,
