George F. Slingerland Jr., 89, of Johnstown, passed away peacefully February 6, 2021, at Nathan Littauer Nursing Home following a brief illness. You’ll be greatly missed forever and loved as a family man who is adored by all of his family as he always put them first.
George was born April 1, 1931, in Nelliston, NY, to the late George Fabian Slingerland Sr. and Marjorie P. Walts Slingerland. He was always a good-natured person who would put others before himself. George graduated from Fort Plain H.S. in 1948, and went on to attend Rider College. He then married his first wife, Nina Mannino, on April 29, 1950. Together they owned Juniorama for 27 years until 1984.
