DETROIT, Michigan: A high-ranking official of General Motors Company voiced support for the United Auto Workers' (UAW's) efforts to organize EV battery factories in the United States.
"We are supportive of the UAW, we are partners with the UAW. We believe there has been good that has come out of that partnership, and that good is transferrable to other operations," Gerald Johnson, the company's executive VP, remarked while giving a brief to reporters.
Johnson said the decision for workers to join the union is up to the workforce.
Johnson added that the United Auto Workers could "make their case without interruption and with complete neutrality" from the automotive manufacturer.
