Both rishi sunak and sir keir starmer struck a similar tone, condemning the actions of hamas whilst reaffirming israels right to defend itself. Whilst reaffirming israels right to defend itself. In whilst reaffirming israels right to defend itself. In this, right to defend itself. In this, they stood united with the casualties in gaza, mounting. Casualties in gaza, mounting. The their fear that theres no place of safety is profound and International Law must be upheld. Must be upheld. And that means hospitals and civilian lives must be protected. Last night, the foreign secretary said the uk will work with our allies to find out what has happened. I know this only happened last night, but can the Prime Minister please tell us when he thinks he might be able to update the house on progress with that work . Prime minister, i know the whole house will have been shocked by the scenes that Al Ahli Hospital, any loss of innocent life is a dreadful tragedy and everyone will be thinking both of those who have lost their lives and the families that they leave behind. And we should not rush to judgement we have all the judgement before we have all the facts situation. Facts on this awful situation. Hamas has denied its to blame for last nights hospital blast. But in its to blame for last nights hospital blast. But in a joint press conference with Benjamin Netanyahu, President Biden supported the Israeli Defence forces claims that the rocket fired wasnt from israel. Fired wasnt from israel. Israel, as they respond to these attacks , it seems to me these attacks, it seems to me that they have to continue to ensure that you have what you need to defend yourselves and were going to make sure that occurs. As you know , i was occurs. As you know, i was deeply saddened and outraged by the explosion at the hospital in gaza yesterday. Patrick well, theres only one place to start this hour that is, of course, the conflict in the middle east. But what i really want to focus is how its affecting focus on is how its affecting us here, our lives and brits involved. A lot has happened in the course of the day that we do need to get stuck into. So weve heard from rishi sunak, our Prime Minister speaking in the commons. Condemned commons. Hes condemned hamas for suffering. For causing untold suffering. Hes that parliament hes saying that parliament spoke as one in its criticism of the terrorist groups actions. Hes not quite though, is hes not quite right, though, is he . There are some he . Because there are some backbench mps who, i think its fair to are not as as fair to say, are not as vocal as others when it comes to condemning joe biden others when it comes to contbeen ng joe biden others when it comes to contbeen Holding Joe Biden others when it comes to contbeen holding crisis joe biden others when it comes to contbeen holding crisis talks biden others when it comes to contbeen holding crisis talks inien has been holding crisis talks in israel. Hes reiterate his support for the israelis , support for the israelis, blaming last nights hospital explosion in gaza on what he called the other team. Now, that called the other team. Now, that was a massive potential escalation last night that explosion at a hospital. Very quickly, people came out and said this is israel, its an israeli strike. For what its worth , i was watching another worth, i was watching another news channel at that particular time, which i occasionally do. And it was saying straight away, israel , israel, and it was saying straight away, israel, israel, israel, and it was saying straight away, israel , israel, israel, the israel, israel, israel, the Israeli Defence force has since come out and released what they claim to footage proving from claim to be footage proving from their perspective that it was indeed hamas rocket. So indeed a failed hamas rocket. So thatis indeed a failed hamas rocket. So that is where we are there. But that is where we are there. But that was a potential for massive escalation. I believe we can go escalation. I believe we can go now to nana here in israel where smoke right rises from the israeli lebanese border area. So those are live shots for you right now. What weve seen from this area and this is why im taking you to it immediately at the start of the show is weve seen a build up of Israeli Forces here. Weve seen ongoing issues. Weve also seen build issues. Weve also seen a build up forces in the west up of Israeli Forces in the west bank as and im hoping bank as well. And im hoping that some point might be that at some point we might be able take you the able to take you live to the west bank. But lets cross now to tel aviv and speak to our reporter, charlie peters, is reporter, charlie peters, who is out right charlie out there right now. Charlie that big story was the massive potential for escalation and indeed, way, it kick indeed, by the way, it did kick off in turkey, in lebanon, in jordan, of this jordan, as a result of this explosion at a hospital last night. Right. What is the latest with that . Israel are denying that it was that. That it was that. Thats right. And american intelligence today suggesting that they have reaffirmed israels position this morning. This morning, israels position this morning. This morning , the idf set out this morning, the idf set out their case with signals intelligence , which is very intelligence, which is very rarely released, because once you release it, you lose the source and also some imagery analysis as the dust cleared on that explosion in the north of gaza city, they said that a crater from one of their missiles, a £1,000 rocket or a jdam, would leave behind a significant crater. But what was on the scene at that hospital this morning, charlie, im very sorry about this, charlie. Ive got to cut across because i believe that were going to go right now to joe biden, president of the United States, is talking of all states, who is talking of all these hostages , those who are these hostages, those who are grieving, a child, a parent, a spouse, a sibling, a friend. I know select at black hole in the middle of your chest, feel like youre being sucked into it. Survivors remorse, the into it. Survivors remorse, the anger , the questions of faith in anger, the questions of faith in your soul , anger, the questions of faith in your soul, starting at staring at that empty chair, sitting shiva first sabbath without them there. The everyday things that small things that you miss the most sent when you open the closet door. Morning coffee we closet door. Morning coffee we shared together. Bend of his shared together. Bend of his smile, the perfect picture of her laugh. The giggle of her little boy baby. For those who little boy baby. For those who have lost loved ones, this is what i know. Theyll never be what i know. Theyll never be truly gone. Theres something truly gone. Theres something thats never fully lost. Just thats never fully lost. Just your love for them and their love for you. And i promise you youll be walking along some days and say, what would she or he want me to do . Just smile. He want me to do . Just smile. When you pass a place that reminds you of them, thats when you know when a smile comes to your lips before your charity, your lips before your charity, your eye. Thats what you know. Your eye. Thats what you know. Youre going to fully make. Youre going to fully make. Thats what will give you the fortitude to find light in the darkest hours when terrorists believe they could bring down bnng believe they could bring down bring you down, bend your will, break your resolve. They never break your resolve. They never did. And they never will. Instead, we saw incredible stories of heroism, courage , stories of heroism, courage, israelis taking care of one another, neighbours forming watch groups to protect their kibbutz , opening their homes to kibbutz, opening their homes to shelter survivors , retired shelter survivors, retired soldiers running into danger once again, civilian medics flying across rescue , flying flying across rescue, flying rescue missions and off duty medics. Music festival caring medics. Music festival caring for the wounded or coming victim before becoming a victim himself. Volunteers retrieving bodies of the dead so families could bury their loved ones in accordance with jewish tradition. Reservists leaving behind their families , their their families, their honeymoons, their studies abroad without hesitation , often so without hesitation, often so much more. State of israel was much more. State of israel was born. Be a safe place for the born. Be a safe place for the jewish people of the world. Thats why i was born , long said thats why i was born, long said. Israel didnt exist. Wed have to invent it. While it may not to invent it. While it may not feel that way today, israel must again be a safe place for the jewish people. I promise you were going to do everything in our power to make sure that it will be 75 years ago, just 11 minutes after its founding , minutes after its founding, president Harry S Truman and the United States of america became the first nation to recognise israel, we stood by her side of her sense. Were going to stand her sense. Were going to stand by her side now. My by her side now. My administration was in close touch with your leadership from the first moments of this attack. Were going to make sure we. Were going to make sure we have what you have, what you need to protect your people, to defend your nation. For decades, defend your nation. For decades, weve ensured israels qualitative military edge. And later this week, im going to ask the United States congress for an unprecedented support package for israels defence. Were going to keep iron dome fully supplied so we can continue standing sentinel over israeli skies , saving israeli israeli skies, saving israeli lives. Weve moved us military lives. Weve moved us military assets to the region, including positioning the Uss Ford Carrier Strike Group in the Eastern Mediterranean with the uss eisenhower on the way to deter, defer further aggression against israel and to prevent this conflict from spreading the world will know that israel israel is stronger than ever. My israel is stronger than ever. My message to any state or any other hostile actor thinking about attacking israel remains the same as it was a week ago. Dont. Dont dont, dont. Since this terrorist terrorist attack took place , weve seen it took place, weve seen it described as israels 9 11. But for a nation the size of israel was like 15, 9 11. The scale may be different, but im sure those horrors have tapped into some kind of primal feeling in in israel, just like it did and felt in the United States. Shock back pain , rage , an all back pain, rage, an all consuming rage. I understand consuming rage. I understand that Many Americans understand. That Many Americans understand. You cant look at what has happened here to your mothers, your fathers, your grandpa , your fathers, your grandpa, parents, sons, daughters , parents, sons, daughters, children, even babies and not scream out for justice. Justice must be done. Scream out for justice. Justice must be done. But i caution this while you feel that rage , dont while you feel that rage, dont be consumed by it. After 9 11, be consumed by it. After 9 11, we were enraged in the United States while we sought justice and got justice. We also made and gotjustice. We also made mistakes. And gotjustice. We also made mistakes. Im the and gotjustice. We also made mistakes. Im the first and gotjustice. We also made mistakes. Im the first us president to visit israel in time of war. I made a wartime decisions. I know the choices are never clear or easy for the leadership. Theres always cost , leadership. Theres always cost, but it requires being deliberate requires asking very hard questions , requires clarity questions, requires clarity about the objectives and an honest assessment about whether the path youre on will achieve those objectives. The vast those objectives. The vast majority of palestinians are not hamas. Hamas majority of palestinians are not hamas. Hamas does not majority of palestinians are not hamas. Hamas does not represent hamas. Hamas does not represent Palestinian People. Hamas uses Palestinian People. Hamas uses innocent , Palestinian People. Hamas uses innocent, innocent families in gaza as human shields , putting gaza as human shields, putting their command centres , their their command centres, their weapons, their communications tunnels in residential areas. As tunnels in residential areas. As Palestinian People are suffering greatly as well. We mourn the greatly as well. We mourn the loss of innocent palestinian lives like the entire world. I was outraged and saddened by the enormous loss of life yesterday in the hospital in gaza. Based in the hospital in gaza. Based on the information weve seen to date, it appears a result of an errant rocket fired by a terrorist group in gaza. The terrorist group in gaza. The United States unequivocally stands for the protection of civilian life during conflict. Civilian life during conflict. And i grieve. I truly grieve for the families who were killed or wounded by this tragedy. The wounded by this tragedy. The people of gaza need food, water, medicine, shelter. And today i ask the israeli cabinet, who i met with for some time this morning, to agree to the delivery of life saving humanitarian assistance to civilians in gaza based on the understanding that there will be inspections , that the aid should inspections, that the aid should go to civilians, not to hamas. Go to civilians, not to hamas. This will agree the humanitarian assistance can begin to move from egypt to gaza. Let me be clear. If hamas diverts or steals the assistance, it will have demonstrated once again that they have no concern for the welfare of the Palestinian People and it will end as a practical matter. It will it practical matter. It will it will stop the International Community from being able to provide this aid , working in provide this aid, working in close cooperation with the government of egypt, the united nafions government of egypt, the United Nations and its agencies like the World Food Program and other partners in the region to get trucks across the border trucks moving across the border as as possible. Separately as soon as possible. Separately i ask israel that the Global Community demand that the International Red cross be able to visit hostages. I just to visit hostages. I just demanded that the United States fully adjust, demand that the United States fully supports today , im also announcing 100 today, im also announcing 100 million in new us funding for humanitarian assistance, both gaza and the west bank. This money will support more than 1 million displaced in conflict affected palestinians, including Emergency Needs in gaza. You are Emergency Needs in gaza. You are a jewish state. You are a jewish state. Youre also a democracy like the United States. You dont live by the rules of terrorist. You live by the rule terrorist. You live by the rule of law. When conflicts flare , of law. When conflicts flare, you live by the law of war. What sets us apart from the terrorists is we believe in the fundamental dignity of every human life. Israeli, palestinian human life. Israeli, palestinian , an arab jew , muslim, an arab jew, muslim, christian, everyone who cant give up. What makes you who you are. You give that up. Then the are. You give that up. Then the terrorists win. And we can never terrorists win. And we can never let them win. You know, israels let them win. You know, israels a miracle triumph of faith and resolve and resilience over impossible pain and loss. Think about october 7th, the jewish houday about october 7th, the jewish holiday where you read about the death of moses , a tragic story death of moses, a tragic story of a profound loss to an entire nafion of a profound loss to an entire nation , a death that could have nation, a death that could have left helpless hopelessness in the hearts of the entire entire nation. But though moses died, his memory, his message , his his memory, his message, his lessons have lived on for generations of the jewish people, as well as many others. People, as well as many others. Just as the memory of your loved ones will live on as well. After reading the story of moses death, those who observed the houday death, those who observed the holiday began reading the torah from the very beginning in the story of creation man reminds us of two things. First, when we get knocked down, we get back up again and we begin anew. And second, when were faced with tragedy and loss, we must go back to the beginning and remember who we are. We are all human beings creating an image of god with dignity, humanity and purpose in the darkness to be the light unto the world is what were about. Be the light unto the world is what were about. You inspire hope and light for so many around the world. Thats what the terrorists seek to destroy. The terrorists seek to destroy. Thats what they seek to destroy because they live in darkness. Because they live in darkness. But not you , not israel. Nations but not you, not israel. Nations of conscience like the United States and israel are not measured solely by the example of their power. Were measured by the power of our example. By the power of our example. Thats why, as hard as it is , we thats why, as hard as it is, we must keep pursuing peace , must must keep pursuing peace, must keep pursuing a path so that israel and the Palestinian People can both live safely in security and dignity and in peace for me, that means the two state solution must keep working for israels greater integration with its neighbours. These with its neighbours. These attacks have only strengthened my commitment and determination and my will to get that done. And my will to get that done. Im here to tell you that terrorists will not win. Freedom terrorists will not win. Freedom will win. So let me end where i will win. So let me end where i began. Will win. So let me end where i began. Israel, youre not alone. Began. Israel, youre not alone. The United States stands with you. I told the story before, you. I told the story before, and ill tell it again of my first meeting with an israeli Prime Minister, 50 years ago as a young senator , i was sitting a young senator, i was sitting across from golda meir at her desk in her office, and she had a guy named a guy who later became Prime Minister, sitting next to me just before the 1973 yom kippur war. And she flipped the maps up and down, telling me how bad things were and how terrible they were. All of a sudden, she looked at me and she said, would you like a photograph . And i looked at her. She got up from her desk and walked out into that hallway. Walked out into that hallway. And i think its marble flooring , walked down the hallway and walked down there, a bunch of photographer is standing in front of us. We were Standing Shoulder to shoulder without her looking at me. She said to me, knowing would hear her. Why do knowing i would hear her. Why do you look so worried, senator biden . And i said, worried like, biden . And i said, worried like, of course im worried. And she of course im worried. And she looked at me and she didnt look. She said, we dont worry, senator. We israelis have senator. We israelis have a secret weapon. We have nowhere secret weapon. We have nowhere else to go. Well, today i say to else to go. Well, today i say to all of israel , the United States all of israel, the United States is going anywhere. Either were is going anywhere. Either were going to stand with you. Well walk beside you. In those dark days and well walk beside you in the good days to come. And they will come , as you say in they will come, as you say in hebrew, which im not going to attempt to do because im such a terrible linguist. Attempt to do because im such a terrible linguist. Ill attempt to do because im such a terrible linguist. Ill say it terrible linguist. Ill say it in english. The people of israel live the people of israel live. Live the people of israel live. Israel will be safe, secure, jewish and democratic state. Today day, tomorrow and forever. Today day, tomorrow and forever. May god protect all those who work for peace. God save those work for peace. God save those who are still in harms way. Thank you very much , mr president. What is your okay, that was joe biden there speaking in tel aviv. Some of the points that he made included this. He says that he will ask the us congress for an unprecedented support package that will include a continuous and unrelenting supply of israels iron dome to stop the rockets being fired in from a variety of different nations in and around it and much, much more, including naval support. He also said that the israeli cabinet, after having spoken with us representatives, have apparently agreed to give aid to gaza on the condition that hamas dont nick it. So, you know , joe dont nick it. So, you know, joe biden also confirms that Us Intelligence appears to show that gazas hospital explosion was a result of an errant terrorist rocket from inside gaza, which is also what the Israeli Defence forces are claiming. And that was claiming. And that was essentially what joe biden had to say. Im going to go back now to say. Im going to go back now to charlie peters, who is in tel aviv for us. Charlie, so some of the highlights there, i think of joe biden that there is joe biden was that there is going to be unequivocally an unprecedented package, going to be unequivocally an un|the edented package, going to be unequivocally an un|the way, ed package, going to be unequivocally an un|the way, unprecedented kage, going to be unequivocally an un|the way, unprecedented inje, by the way, unprecedented in light of the support packages theyve ukraine. Theyve been giving ukraine. That going to be that implies its going to be fairly massive, doesnt it, for israel . Us will continue to israel . The us will continue to stand israel. Stand by israel. Yes. And it comes eight days after the us supplied their first round of munitions to israel. Those advanced munitions that landed last tuesday night. They have been resupplying the iron dome Missile Defence system here since then. Each rocket costs 100,000 and weve been seeing them firing day and night here from tel aviv to intercept eight missiles fired in from the gaza strip by hamas and Palestinian Islamic jihad. But Palestinian Islamic jihad. But it is one missile in particular that the world is focusing on right now. And its the missile that struck the hospital or the Baptist Christian hospital last night the north of gaza. And night in the north of gaza. And in that joe biden there in that speech, joe biden there reaffirming the position of Us Intelligence, which is that Palestinian Islamic jihad were to blame for that explosion, that the misfiring rocket released by the pig then turned around or perhaps exploded mid air and created that explosion on the ground. The Hamas Run Health Ministry last night claiming that it was an israeli air strike and that some 500 people had been killed. 500 people had been killed. Well, the idf and now the us have started to significantly degrade that narrative with information released by the idf this morning about crater sizes, about imagery, intelligence , about imagery, intelligence, about imagery, intelligence, about signals intelligence as well , but also the about signals intelligence as well, but also the image on the ground this morning as light has landed on north gaza, we can see that the destruction to the hospital is not nearly as great as was claimed last night. And also, we should add readily reported by other outlets when that information was released by hamas. It is not the huge devastation that was released. Devastation that was released. The hospital is intact. Some glass has been broken and in the car park there is burnt out cars , but some towards the edge are still intact. The crater thats been seen on the ground , been seen on the ground, unverified reports that its just 30cm deep, not the kind of crater youd expect for a dam or a £1,000 bomb. These are the kind of munitions, the advanced munitions that the Israeli Air Force have been using to target the gaza strip for the last ten days. But there was also an additional message there from bidens speech about humanitarian supplies to the gaza strip this morning. The idf confirmed that they would be launching a humanitarian safe zone on the border and al mawasi east of the east of the younis khan , khan yunis, or the city in khan, khan yunis, or the city in the south, where hundreds of thousands have fled since this invasion and this aerial bombardment started in north gaza, where there have been some localised raids by idf troops. Localised raids by idf troops. So thats a significant step fonnard. And one of the main ambitions of american diplomacy. But the diplomatic efforts are continuing and there are still many challenges remaining for the in israel and the the americans in israel and the wider region. In particular, wider region. In particular, that issue of the hostages , or that issue of the hostages, or at least 199, some 40 nationalities represent counted. Dozens have died in the care, i should say , actually under the should say, actually under the control of hamas inside the gaza strip. And people are working desperately around the International Community to try and establish some communicate with hamas, to understand what conditions can be met, to release those hostages as this war rages on, its understood that americans and now also british diplomacy is linking up with those in qatar. Qatar maintains connections to several militant groups around the region , including those itself. Region, including those itself. It describes as terrorists. It is a sort of hub of diplomacy within the region. So thats a key area for the next 24 hours for diplomacy. Can they reopen talks and start a conversation about the release of those hostages . A key issue in israel and, of course, around the world with so many nationalities affected. But israel itself, affected. But israel itself, its focussed diplomacy today is trying to reach out to the arab nafions trying to reach out to the arab nations that last night condemned it for what they say is a false narrative. This idea that israel launched an airstrike on a hospital. It has refuted this very strongly with several compelling but not conclusive evidence at points this morning. It is desperately trying to reach out to arab nafions trying to reach out to arab nations and try to explain to them what has actually happened. So far, though , not a single so far, though, not a single arab nation, despite the evidence released this morning, has turned around and rescinded their statements last night, saudi arabia said it was act saudi arabia said it was an act of genocide. Egypt, which first recognised israels borders in 1979, remaining steadfast in their opposition. So has the their opposition. So has the uae. Iraq lebanon, jordan, all these arab nations coming together in solidarity city. I think using last nights report as an opportunity to say enough is enough, lets try and end this war now because if there is total condemnation from the arab nafionsin total condemnation from the arab nations in such a strong way and they think a decline from the international support, israel might not launch that anticipated Ground Invasion into the gaza strip. The gaza strip. Thank you very much. Charlie peters is in tel aviv. Lets cross now to westminster and speak gb news political speak to gb news Political Correspondent Katherine Forster for of localised for a little bit of localised reaction rishi was reaction because rishi sunak was talking a little bit earlier on, wasnt he, catherine, in the house of commons and he has some interesting things to so interesting things to say. Speaking with one voice, basically saying that the atrocities that have been visited on israel , while been visited on israel, while absolutely horrendous , that the absolutely horrendous, that the house stands with israel and israels right to defend itself. But but also stressing the need to act with international within International Law. Thats something thats a keir starmer mentioned a couple of times and then the snp leader Stephen Flynn going a little bit further, calling for an immediate ceasefire , a calling immediate ceasefire, a calling as humza yousaf the first minister of scotland did yesterday for a rare refugee settlement scheme for people escaping from gaza. Rishi sunak escaping from gaza. Rishi sunak also stressing what the government are doing in terms of still trying to get humanitarian aid into gaza, still working on trying to get the hostages out and also the many british nationals. We have no idea on numbers, but humza yousaf in laws included who are currently trapped inside gaza and would really very much like to come out and also stressing that the government stands with the Jewish Community here at and also saying hamas and the Palestinian People are not the same thing , treading on same thing, treading on eggshells. Well, its as predictable as night following day , isnt it . Night following day, isnt it . There are calls for the uk to take in refugees from gaza. Scottish first minister humza yousaf led the charge with his speech to the snp conference yesterday. Im calling today on the International Community to commit to a worldwide Refugee Programme for the people of gaza i so we have egypt, jordan and turkey at the latest count anyway, refusing to take in any refugees from gaza. That was the latest that i saw. Why is that . I dont quite understand that those countries were very keen to show solidarity with the Palestinian People, werent they . If neighbouring countries are not going to take their fair share, should we . Would they share, why should we . Would they need to be a global refugee system . If neighbouring nations system . If neighbouring nations took some of those refugees . Lets get the thoughts now. Dean thompson, whos a former lecturer and writer for think scotland. Thank you very much. Dean. Firstly your view on humza yousaf offering up your proud nafion yousaf offering up your proud nation to be a Leading Light in a global gazan refugee scheme. A global gazan refugee scheme. Well, i think a large part of this is humza yousaf of needing to reassert domestic political momentum. Hes had a very bad momentum. Hes had a very bad time of it. Time of it. Losing the rutherglen by election for scottish labour, drawing even in the opinion polls. Polls. I think theres a lot more of whats in the best interests of humza yousaf with this motivating it is always the snps strategy go to strategy. Virtuous holyrood under the snp big nasty regressive westminster under the tories. So i think theres a lot of Political Considerations motivating the ask on that. Sorry, can i just ask on that . Dean do you think actually thats fair for humza yousaf though . Im not sure how popular it would to be allow potentially potentially thousands of people who may or may not have voted for a terrorist organisation in the shape of hamas several years ago whilst they were still having elections . Who being having elections . Who were being refused their refused access to their neighbouring arab neighbouring fellow arab countries to just be plonked in scotland. Do you not think that that might not actually go down that might not actually go down that well with the people of scotland . Scotland . Well , i personally speaking, well, i personally speaking, ihave well, i personally speaking, i have been at the receiving end of a tremendous amount of anti semitic abuse over the last week or so. Week or so. And i know many in the Jewish Community in scotland have as well. So its something that does cause pause for thought. But the larger point here is if you listen to people like the chief economist at the World Food Programme , arif hussain, he food programme, arif hussain, he makes very clear in a study he conducts with the World Food Programme a couple of years ago that most refugees fleeing a war zone or conflict zone will relocate. Within their country relocate. Within their country three times before they make the decision to go abroad because they want to be closer to home rather than furthest away. Obviously, because cultural considerations, food habits, traditions are more familiar. So it makes if we want to do whats best for refugees as a policy , best for refugees as a policy, would be to keep them in the neighbourhood. I think so. Do you not think it rings massive alarm bells that neighbouring countries dont from the gaza dont want people from the gaza strip in their country . Strip in their country . Oh, absolutely. Oh, absolutely. Oh, absolutely. If the countries like jordan , if the countries like jordan, saudi arabia, qatar, these are stable countries and if, for example, we relocate refugees from gaza to, say, jordan or lebanon , it is 16 times more lebanon, it is 16 times more Cost Effective to put them there than in europe. So if we want if its a question of maximising resources to help the refugees is much better to keep them in the levant or the maghreb rather than in europe. So the levant or the maghreb rather than in europe. So theres its than in europe. So theres its alarming because what we do know is that cairo in egypt, they are determined to not offer any support to palestinians in gaza and jordan. Likewise theyve had jordans case. Theyve been bitten before in years gone by, theyve taken Palestinian Refugees from previous the previous intifada. And its been a source of political instability in jordan for them. So i think its a case of once bitten. Do you not think maybe potentially the people of scotland should also be quite concerned . I mean, last night we saw some absolutely horrific scenes at gaza. I was at a hospital in gaza. I was watching a middle eastern news outlet, life when that happened. And the way that that outlet decided to break the news was there were inside the hospital. They had cameras inside the hospital, and they had people dragging bodies in front of the camera , checking for pulses, camera, checking for pulses, looking at the camera and saying clearly that they that person was deceased. It was the most graphic thing ive ever seen on live news. There is an argument to say that the world, of course, needs to see the realities and the horrors of war. And im not complaining about that. But they were saying immediately, is israeli immediately, this is an israeli airstrike. Is an israeli airstrike. This is an israeli airstrike. This is an israeli airstrike. And then the bbc airstrike. And then the bbc parroted they put a comma, parroted that they put a comma, says Palestinian Health authority, at the end of it, tried to qualify it humza yousaf then retweeted that. Okay. Which appears to endorse this idea that it was an israeli airstrike. Were seeing the aftermath of that now. If youre watching us on tv or online and now its turned out that the israelis are adamant, the americans are adamant that this was actually jihad rocket from was actually a jihad rocket from within gaza. Thats caused it. It does appear as though humza yousaf have swallowed the bait on that at the moment. Is that not a concern for people of. Well, in the case of the bbc, its increasingly compromised , i its increasingly compromised, i would argue, and ive said on twitter and in articles that ive written , i regard the bbc ive written, i regard the bbc at this point as its now a question mark, whether they have a problem of anti semitism in their organisation. This is the bbc that produced a programme just the other day questioning whether the farage massacre happened. Whether the farage massacre happened. This is an happened. This is an organisation that is suspended six journalists because theyve been retweeting and liking and reposting pro hamas talking points on social media. So the bbc, which wont call terrorists, terrorists as long as theyre israelis and theyre jews being the victims , is the jews being the victims, is the bbc. When the bbc report came out in regards to the tragedy of the hospital, what when the bbc talked about it, they say theyre talking point is palestinian officials, well, whos running gaza . Its hamas. Whos running gaza . Its hamas. Who are the palestinian officials . Theyre talking. Exactly. Thats the thing. I mean, look, obviously, the bbc would deny that has a problem with anti semitism. But i take your point, which is that they have continued, caused outrage by some aspects of their some of the aspects of their reporting. Ang dean, going reporting. Ang dean, im going to leave there just because reporting. Ang dean, im going to leaae there just because reporting. Ang dean, im going to leaa bitthere just because reporting. Ang dean, im going to leaa bit pressed st because reporting. Ang dean, im going to leaa bit pressed forecause reporting. Ang dean, im going to leaa bit pressed for time,5 were a bit pressed for time, but very, very much. But thank you very, very much. Its dean thompson now. Hes a former lecturer and writer for its dean thompson now. Hes a forme scotland, and writer for its dean thompson now. Hes a forme scotland, initially er for think scotland, initially reacting yousaf reacting to what humza yousaf said, hes put fonnard said, which hes put fonnard scotland be a bastion, scotland to be a bastion, a leader, a trailblazer when it comes to a Global Refugee Program for the people of gaza. This was followed up almost immediately by egypt, jordan , un immediately by egypt, jordan, un and turkey saying they wouldnt take any refugees from gaza. Take any refugees from gaza. That, to me raises a huge amount of alarm bells. That to me is very, very questionable. Is it really the responsibility of Great Britain in europe to take people gaza . People people from gaza . Some people would some people would say it is. Some people look the horrors going on look at the horrors going on over there and think, we must help. I would argue, arent help. I would argue, why arent their it . Their neighbours doing it . Michaels with the michaels been in touch with the inbox. Patrick. We definitely inbox. Hi patrick. We definitely do not want refugees from gaza. This is michaels view being allowed to country. Allowed to come to our country. They go neighbouring they should go to neighbouring arab share similar arab states who share similar political views. There you go. Political views. There you go. Thats michaels view. And i find that quite wont . And i do find that quite intriguing say the least, but intriguing to say the least, but that loads more still that we go now loads more still to come because will go live to come because we will go live to come because we will go live to israel 4 00 theyll to israel at 4 00 pm. Theyll also cover the pro palestine protest taking place outside downing street. So that is due downing street. So that is due to start in over an hour. Just over an hour. So outside downing street, that will be a fascinating watch. Got fascinating watch. Youve got a reporter there and reporter on the ground there and a Asylum Seeker get this, a former Asylum Seeker get this, has been jailed for just 11 years for leading a criminal gang that smuggled up to 10,000 people to the uk in small boats a couple of years ago. That is about a fifth of the entire number of people who were smuggled to the uk. He was jailed. Living in east london jailed. He living in east london classic having claimed asylum in britain sentenced to britain. He was sentenced to just 11 years in prison right before he gets to go out and no doubt enjoy the millions that hes got stashed away in foreign Bank Accounts. Patrick christys. Gb me, Michael Portillo gb news britains news channel. Britains news channel. To me Patrick Christys on gb news live shots that have stood out in southern israel, which as we can see is currently got smoke billowing from above it all action in israel at the moment. Moment. Israeli troops building up on the west bank as well as the fallout from yesterdays massive explosion at a hospital in gaza. Each side blaming each other. Israel and now the president of the United States, joe biden, who we heard from just a few moments ago, coming out and saying that their intelligence suggests that was by an suggests that it was fired by an Islamist Terrorist Group from within and that a rocket within gaza and that a rocket misfired and has killed scores of people at that hospital. But closer to home, nobody cares. Nobody cares about stopping the boats. There is absolutely be no deterrent to being one of the larger human traffickers in the world, as evidenced by the latest example of justice. So soft it could have been handed down feather. Chap down with a feather. A chap called hiwa rahimpour, an iranian man who actually sought asylum himself, believe it or not, has now been sentenced for his role in smuggling. Around 10,000 people across the channel. That is nearly a fifth of all of the people who came to the uk in small boats last year. It turns out that he was running the horror show of human misery from ilford in east london, which way to showing which goes a long way to showing the of person we are the kind of person that we are giving housing to in this country, it . But anyway, country, doesnt it . But anyway, he arrested ilford and he was arrested in ilford and then extradited to belgium to face full of the law. Face the full force of the law. Right go. Heres the right here we go. Heres the opportunity evil opportunity to nail this evil human smuggler, this scourge on our society, this scumbag. Were going to were going to see one of these rats get a sentence that will send shivers down the spine of other smugglers , arent spine of other smugglers, arent we . This is going to great. We . This is going to be great. Oh it it will send out oh it will. It will send out a message to them that we just we just cant let them get away with this kind of stuff. They should stop it immediately. Right. Happened right. Okay what happened to him then . Years . Then . You wonder . 11 years . Yeah. Years prison. Thats yeah. 11 years in prison. Thats it. Was charging people it. This guy was charging people between 3 and £6000 a trip, and theyre just the ones we know about. So hes going to a about. So hes going to serve a few years a cushy belgium few years in a cushy belgium b block prison , and then hes back block prison, and then hes back out to collect the million millions of pounds that hell have stored in dodgy Bank Accounts around the world. Well, i bet they wont even deport him, for matter. That him, for that matter. Not that it matter, because if it would matter, because if anybodys to find their anybodys going to find their way to europe, its mr way back to europe, its mr Human Trafficking isnt it . What message send out to message does this send out to those scumbags like those crooked scumbags like raheem it say . Raheem poor . What does it say . Well it says that you can come to britain illegally. We will pay to britain illegally. We will pay lifestyle. Then pay for your lifestyle. Then while here, well let while youre here, well let you run a multi Million Pound illegal immigration racket. And then when you do get caught, youll get a slap on the wrist. This is bonkers. It has to be life in prison, doesnt it . This guy others like him are guy and others like him are happy facilitate people happy to facilitate people losing in the losing their lives in the channel. Theyre breaking through borders. Theyre inciting across inciting violence across continents theyre continents. Theyre like the worst people the world, this worst people in the world, this lot, arent they . Why on earth is not a mandatory life is it not a mandatory life sentence . How long do you reckon it will be before rahimpour is actually back out and about deaung actually back out and about dealing in human misery again . A few max. If you do dealing in human misery again . A few max. If you do not few years max. If you do not crack a multi billion pound Crime Organisation by locking up somebody for just a few years , somebody for just a few years, thatis somebody for just a few years, that is not how it works. Now, that is not how it works. Now, for all of this tough talk on the migrant crisis, clearly our International Justice system does not care. He will spend the does not care. He will spend the next few years laughing at us from a prison cell while the Illegal Migrants just keep on coming. Yeah, i think our story coming. Yeah, i think our story might have got lost really with Everything Else thats going on in the world at the moment. Vaiews gbnews. Com. Joined now by immigration lawyer hardeep singh. Rajab, thank you singh. Bongo rajab, thank you very much. We managed to extradite at extradite this guy to belgium at least. Yeah mean but such like you said wasnt the sentence that everyone that weve anyway been advocating for me and you often advocate and say look the only way were going to crack the ring is to deter the actual people smugglers, give them life i but 11 years might be out in seven, possibly even six. I mean, thats not a deterrent. 10,000 people you smuggled. 10,000 people you smuggled. Youre right, 20 of a years crossings times that by 5000 millions, multi millions laughing. And if you offered that to any man on the street, you multi millions, you have to go to jail for six years. I think the majority would take it. Id say so its not much of a deterrent at all. And its disgusting , really. Once again, disgusting, really. Once again, the domestic courts and the International Courts just dont take people smuggling seriously. Take people smuggling seriously. And until they do and until these people start getting 25, 30 years inside, there wont be deterred. I mean, this is if anything , it deterred. I mean, this is if anything, it might even spur a few people on. Of course, you know what . Have a crack at this. You know, its only six, seven years. Ill be out there. He was an Asylum Seeker himself, though, wasnt he . I find. Mean , this story has got find. I mean, this story has got it all in that he an it all in that regard. He was an asylum himself hes come Asylum Seeker himself. Hes come to britain. He set himself up in ilford. Mercedes to britain. He set himself up in ilford there mercedes to britain. He set himself up in ilford there as mercedes to britain. He set himself up in ilford there as well. Mercedes to britain. He set himself up in ilford there as well. Lovelyzdes benz there as well. Lovely stuff. Course he is. And hes stuff. Of course he is. And hes deaung stuff. Of course he is. And hes dealing human cargo and the dealing in human cargo and the International Community do not look at Human Trafficking , look at Human Trafficking, illegal immigration violent threats as well. And goodness knows what else they were deaung knows what else they were dealing in the breaking into nations. All of this stuff, they get a case that has all of that in the round, almost unequivocally a false asylum claim to begin with as well. If you yourself up like that you set yourself up like that and the grand total and they come to the grand total of years, its bonkers. I of 11 years, its bonkers. I just wheres the justice . Think whats even more i think whats even more bonkers is that sometimes were told that these guys are in untouchable countries and theyre you know, in theyre sitting, you know, in south america. Non extradition countries. Yeah, but youre sitting in ilford. You know, i, sitting in ilford. You know, i, g1 or ig three and hes running the whole operation from there, which shows what is our intelligence doing if these guys are here on our shores, then our intelligence needs to be a lot quicker. The Justice System needs to be a lot stronger and this is just the tip of the iceberg. There are plenty more people like him , and ive said people like him, and ive said it before and youve said it before. So patrick, there is a whole network of people all the way from russia to the uk who are all interlinked with everyone on the payroll. Police officers, border staff , you officers, border staff, you know, immigration staff. Theyre all in on it. Transport staff, truckers, boat people , theyre truckers, boat people, theyre all in on it because its such a big business. The collective energy hijab, the collective energy that are and our international allies, Police Forces have gone to nail a bloke who is a frankly fraudulent Asylum Seeker living in ilford. Right. And then at the end of that, to slap him with 11 years for being responsible for at least 10,000 people crossing the english channeli people crossing the english channel, i just find absolutely staggering. But were gonna have to leave it there. Thank you very singh there, very much. Hardeep singh there, who lawyer and who is an immigration lawyer and a friend of the show as well. Now loads more still to come in the next hour. Going to be the next hour. As we terrorist groups actions. As we are also seeing calls for an increase in the Terror Threat here as a result of clashes not just here on the streets, but also a series of terror acts. Since the israel Hamas Conflict around europe, france , weve around europe, france, weve seen it there. Weve seen it in brussels as well. And also some incidents, very concerning incidents, very concerning incidents taking place in germany overnight with the firebombing allegedly of synagogues. But joe biden has synagogues. But joe biden has been holding crisis talks in israel. He has reiterated his support for the israelis , support for the israelis, blaming last nights gaza hospital explosion on what he called, quote , the other team. Called, quote, the other team. So this has caused a massive point of confusion and contention in which was yesterday evening. There was a blast at a hospital in gaza. Blast at a hospital in gaza. Okay. Reports that around 500 people were killed in immediately. They said this was an israeli missile strike and there was International Condemnation of israel. People condemnation of israel. People jumping to conclusions left, right and centre. People in turkey driving to us embassies and us bases in that country to say how angry they were. Anyway, israel then said , were going to israel then said, were going to have a closer look at this. They then released some footage which appeared to suggest that this was a rocket fired by was actually a rocket fired by hamas group within in hamas or another group within in gaza. Hamas or another group within in gaza. And then they released gaza. And then they released some audio which will bring to you a little bit later on about this, which appears to show people , hamas discussing the people, hamas discussing the fact that maybe they had actually fired this missile and it had misfired or been shot out sky and the remnants of it had landed on this hospital. So that was a massive point of contention. Today in contention. Joe biden today in israel that he believes israel saying that he believes us that rocket that us that that rocket and that that the loss of that incident and the loss of life responsible all because life was responsible all because of what happened in gaza and not israel, but rishi sunak had a fair bit to say about this very issue in our house of commons right here. We should not rush to judgement before we have all the facts on this awful situation. In every member will know that the words we say here have an impact beyond this house. This morning i met with the National Security adviser, but also the chair of the joint Intelligence Committee. I can Intelligence Committee. I can tell honourable gentleman tell the honourable gentleman our Intelligence Services have been analysing the been rapid analysing the evidence to independently establish the facts. We are not in a position at this point to say more than that, but i can tell him we are working at pace, but also so cooperating and collaborating with our allies on this issue. As we look to get to the bottom of the situation. And we also continue our we will also continue all our efforts to get humanitarian aid into. In into the region. In im joined now by charlie peters, our man in tel aviv. And charlie, it is looking into hinckley like this blast at a hospital was in fact caused by a missile fire from within gaza and not anything to do with the israelis. Israelis. Yes, the white house National Security spokesman said in the last hour that it is the view of american intelligence that the strike was not the fault of israel. And they came to that conclusion, a likely conclusion , conclusion, a likely conclusion, an i should say, after analysis , an i should say, after analysis, through imagery intercepts and open source intelligence, lots of footage, of course, on the gaza strip right now. So plenty of footage for intelligence analysts to use overnight. And this morning to come to that conclusion. So thats a big part conclusion. So thats a big part of todays diplomacy , trying to of todays diplomacy, trying to establish some further understanding of what happened last night and then get that message around the world. Because last night, the arab world reacted very suddenly within 15 minutes. In fact , of within 15 minutes. In fact, of the reports of the explosion at the reports of the explosion at the hospital, the Palestinian Authority described it as a crime of genocide. And then all crime of genocide. And then all of the regional players here came out to say that israel was to blame and to stand very strongly against those actions indeed. But now with more evidence coming to light today and also further footage of the blast sites being released , the blast sites being released, the original reception, the original story that was released by the Hamas Run Health Ministry and other facts, other actors in the area does seem to cast doubt on that original understanding. That original understanding. Some signals intelligence and Imagery Intelligence released by the idf , which is compelling but the idf, which is compelling but not conclusive evidence at this stage. Trying to show that Palestinian Islamic jihad , a Palestinian Islamic jihad, a group aligned with hamas, which is 100 funded by iran, was to blame for the explosion. Also the claim by hamas that some 500 people had been killed in that explosion remains unverified looking at the site today from reports on the ground and footage weve seen which can be verified , does not indicate that verified, does not indicate that level of destruction. The building is intact. The hospital has not exploded and the car park has had significant damage. But indeed, some cars on the end of that car park are fine. They dont look as though theyve been touched by the explosive that landed there , not in in that landed there, not in in keeping with what we understand about israeli munitions , which about israeli munitions, which are advanced and which do create significant devastation when they target it. Urban areas, as weve seen over the last ten days. But elsewhere in american diplomacy today, we have seen a significant win for President Joe Biden, who in the last hour has secured humanitarian aid from egypt into gaza. This is a significant step. This is one of the ambitions of us secretary of state antony blinken. Last week, which i couldnt achieve, but that that now done that that has now been done absolutely. Absolutely. Charlie, thank you very much. Charlie peters there, our man in tel aviv, just whizzing through the that hospital tel aviv, just whizzing through the which, that hospital tel aviv, just whizzing through the which, by that hospital tel aviv, just whizzing through the which, by the. Hospital tel aviv, just whizzing through the which, by the way, ital tel aviv, just whizzing through the which, by the way, had blast which, by the way, had a massive, massive ripple massive, massive, massive Ripple Effect around world. Effect all around the world. If thatis effect all around the world. If that is or has been an israeli missile strike, that could have put the kibosh on any kind of Ground Invasion would have turned. I think the wests attitude towards israel or had the potential to. But now all the potential to. But now all the noise is that it is indeed a rocket fired from within gaza by a terror group from within gaza. And changed things and that just changed things somewhat, of course somewhat, doesnt it . Of course it puts the bbc in a difficult position. Who were very, very keen the hamas keen to parrot the pro Hamas Palestinian Health Ministrys rhetoric earlier on. That was also echoed by the likes of humza yousaf in scotland. But the head of m15 was warned that hamass attacks on israel have increased the chances of islamist terror in this country. So how could our lives everybody whos in britain watching this right now be affected by whats going on in the middle east . Ken mccallum was speaking after two swedish football fans were shot deadin swedish football fans were shot dead in belgium on monday. Swedish football fans were shot dead in belgium on monday. A man dead in belgium on monday. A man who identified himself as a member of Islamic State claimed responsibility for that. The gunman was killed by police yesterday. He was a tunisie iron man who was known to authorities as just a couple of days before that, we had a few people arrested in france, didnt we . After a teacher was stabbed to death. They were also shock , death. They were also shock, horror known to authorities today in france, six airports closed, reportedly due to a credible bomb threat and overnight in berlin, two synagogues were firebombed. Im joined now by anthony glees, whos a security and intelligence expert at the university of buckingham. Anthony are we now more at risk of an islamist threat in this country as a result of whats happening in the middle east . Without any doubt at all. And the threat could be an immediate threat, but it could also be a longer term threat. The first longer term threat. The first islamist bomb plot in the United Kingdom took place in 1999, 2000 and before the war on iraq. Incidentally and since that time, weve learned a great deal about how people get radicalised , how people turn to extreme islam, how some of the people who turned to extremism will then turn to terrorism , and that then turn to terrorism, and that these these people will be out there. But you dont have to take my word for it. Look at what sir mark rowley said just a few months ago. He said there few months ago. He said there are tens of thousands , thousands are tens of thousands, thousands of people on the Counter Terrorist police radar right. Right now, all they need , he right now, all they need, he said, is a spark to get them going and i think that what we have seen in particularly in respect of the hospital or was it the hospital car park that was attacked, could well be that spark. Spark. But added to that, youve got the longer term radicalised ac. This is my concern and i think its becoming an increasing concern for a lot of people all around europe, not just here in britain. Okay. Which is that there appears to have been a mass importation of people who at some point this potentially being the trigger of it , could well wish to do us it, could well wish to do us harm. And that i mean, youve got a bloke riding around brussels on the back of a moped with a fluorescent orange jacket on and what looks like some kind of ak 47 just popping people off at will. Swedish football fans, because in sweden theyve been burning korans. Why the heck is this our problem . How has this become europes problem . You know, those kind of conflicts and those kind of ideologies. But alas, we are. I mean, but alas, here we are. I mean, have got trojan horse . Have we got a trojan horse . Obviously , one needs to well, obviously, one needs to be very careful. I think weve got what weve got is the experience of 20 years is what we know is that there are people who turn to terrorism , who who turn to terrorism, who home grown born in this country, educated in this country , gone educated in this country, gone to this countrys university and become terrorists. But equally, one is struck by the number of people who claim they are Asylum Seekers whove been accepted. In seekers whove been accepted. In the case of the belgium perpetrator, he was even not allowed asylum. But he carried on living in belgium illegally. And yet this spark, the spark of hatred, hatred above for all the jews. I mean, this is what were seeing all, all, all the time, really. The hamas attack on really. The hamas attack on israel last saturday week. That was an attack on people, civilians. They didnt dare take civilians. They didnt dare take on the Israeli Defence force, who civilians is because they were jews. And that is like were jews. And that is like a red rag to an islamic islamist bull in many parts of the world. So yes , this is a its a real so yes, this is a its a real problem. Its an ongoing problem. Well have another 20 years of this unless it is dealt with. We say unless it is dealt with, its not going to be dealt with, its not going to be dealt with, is it . So were probably just going to have another 20 years of it. I mean, last night england play italy at football and were being arent we and were being told, arent we remain youve all got remain vigilant. Youve all got to no one needs to remain vigilant. No one needs to remain vigilant. No one needs to were being made to to name what were being made to be for on earth be vigilant for and how on earth this happened to us. Mean, this has happened to us. I mean, it is islamist terror, it is radical islamist terror, right, we have to remain right, that we have to remain vigilant for as far as i can tell, that seems to what it tell, that seems to be what it is. That is the element of is. So that is the element of vigilance. And you now think vigilance. And do you now think that will have people in this that we will have people in this country because Britain Country plot because britain supporting israel in this . Right. Does now put us right. So does that now put us in line even more in the firing line even more than were . Than we already were . Well, it does. I mean, it is inevitable that that should be the case. These tens of thousands of people mark rowley was talking about in march , was talking about in march, Suella Braverman was talking about 800 investigations live right now, just in july , 160 right now, just in july, 160 plus people arrested on terror offences and then you have the allegations about our hospital being blown up. 500 people, whatever hamas says, seems to be accepted without question. And if the israelis say it well, it somehow the israelis or the jews who were to blame for it and this is very radicalising stuff. This is very radicalising stuff. Mi5s this is very radicalising stuff. M15s director says , yeah, we m15s director says, yeah, we need to watch out. But when youre talking about tens of thousands of people, when youre talking about people in europe , talking about people in europe, in the United Kingdom, about whom we know nothing, thats the problem. Im im all in favour problem. Im im all in favour of giving asylum to genuine Asylum Seekers. Im also in favour of migrant labour. But look whats happened since 2016. Instead of taking in european migrants, were taking in more of more migrants and theyre coming from areas africa , asia, coming from areas africa, asia, where islamic ism is endemic. Where islamic ism is endemic. And you know, patrick, when president macron went to visit the school where a french teacher was stabbed and murdered by a chechen islamist, he said it was islamic violence. So in it was islamic violence. So in the back of macrons mind is that this isnt just about je jihadi people. Its about an emerging culture of hatred. And emerging culture of hatred. And we have to confront it in its true. And there is a clear distinction. There is a clear distinction. There is a clear distinction between people who can be pro palestine or obviously Just Practising the islamic faith, of which there are millions in this country and people who are an actual Terror Threat and who are who are extremists. And unfortunately, sometimes those well, a lot of the time, those who are actual extremists and who are actual threat themselves quite threat embed themselves in quite well, meaning with well, meaning people with a different political or religious bent , and different political or religious bent, and that that poses a problem for our security forces. It poses a problem for people when trying articulate when trying to articulate exactly problem is and exactly what the problem is and how that problem is in this how bad that problem is in this country at the moment. My other concern, honestly, would be about increase in home grown about an increase in home grown terror a result of this. So terror as a result of this. So people Walking Around the streets why streets thinking, why are so many people waving the palestinian the palestinian flag . What is the issue and clearly issue with israel . And clearly a lot of people out there who are got fervent views about got very fervent views about this, might passing this, who might be passing messages know, messages down like, you know, israel and the jews are a massive problem and we need to fight them. They shouldnt have a homeland. Et cetera. Im concerned that were going to end up seeing more home grown , end up seeing more home grown, younger terrorism a result of younger terrorism as a result of this. Well, again, patrick, agree well, again, patrick, i agree with think its very with you. And i think its very important language we important that the language we use should reflect our concern. What worries me about Suella Braverman is that i think her thinking is right, but the language she uses is often wrong. So if you see somebody marching in support of palestine , waving the flag of palestine , waving the flag of palestine, she says, all the police will come after you. But of course they wont. And indeed they cant because you might be waving the palestine flag because it is the flag of all palestinians. On the other hand, palestinians. On the other hand, you might be waving it because its also the flag of gaza, in which case your glorified acts of terrorism and you should be arrested. So we need precision. We need precise language. But i also think, you know, people like me , professor of history, like me, professor of history, and many of our students would attest they learn about the holocaust. They learn about mans inhumanity to man. They learn about anti anti semitism. Learn about anti anti semitism. Yeah. And the sad truth is that dis despite all this learning , dis despite all this learning, we still have people who will rush to judgement. Let i should say, by jeremy corbyn. People will have seen his tweet, perhaps where he rushed to judgement after the hospital attack and said a lot of people didnt know this was israel. A lot of people did, a lot of people did. And theres a heck of a lot of fog of war going on. And it is, you know, were all guilty of it times, possibly. Guilty of it at times, possibly. But, know, this is this is but, you know, this is this is a major, problem. And that major, major problem. And that i think will have real world consequences. Anthony, thank you very, anthony very, very much, sir. Anthony glees, whos in social glees, the right whos in Social Security were security expert right were going to have hear now from going to have to hear now from rishi talking rishi sunak whos been talking about in the about the ongoing crisis in the middle east. This has just landed. Rishi well, for too long, in westminster long, politicians in westminster have on cities not have focussed on cities and not enough on towns when actually the of people in the vast majority of people in our country live in towns like clacton. Im delighted to be visiting today. Thats because weve announced towns, announced new funding for towns, £1 billion for 55 towns across the country and were going to put local people in charge of that money. £20 million per town, people be able town, local people will be able town, local people will be able to what the right to decide what the right priorities for them, whether priorities are for them, whether thats improving high streets and centres, clamping down and town centres, clamping down on behaviour or on anti social behaviour or protecting buildings. Are protecting buildings. Those are the people want. The things that people want. This is backing them this government is backing them and be here in and im delighted to be here in clacton today to talk about it. You can invest in towns like clacton. Can you connect with you can invest in towns like clacto like|n you connect with you can invest in towns like clacto like clacton . Nnect with towns like clacton . Understand what some can you understand what some of the people are living through here . Well, its precisely because i about the i understand about the importance of towns and what people that weve announced people want that weve announced this policy thats the this policy and thats the thing. Is a change that im thing. This is a change that im trying bring government, trying to bring to government, to westminster the to much of westminster in the past focussed on past has been focussed just on big dont think thats big cities. I dont think thats right. More people live in towns like clacton than they in big like clacton than they do in big cities. Make sure cities. I want to make sure people towns everywhere know people in towns everywhere know that me that this government, me as Prime Minister, supporting Prime Minister, are supporting them were them and thats why were providing funding for local providing this funding for local areas. Also crucially , its areas. But also crucially, its long term funding and its putting local people in charge of it because people in westminster dont always know whats best. Its right that local the decisions whats best. Its right that loc how the decisions whats best. Its right that loc how to the decisions whats best. Its right that loc how to use the decisions whats best. Its right that loc how to use this the decisions whats best. Its right that loc how to use this new decisions whats best. Its right that loc how to use this new funding; whats best. Its right that loc how priorities new funding; whats best. Its right that loc how priorities. Andv funding; whats best. Its right that loc how priorities. Andv 1think g; on their priorities. And i think thats the right thing to do. And to people here, and talking to people here, theyre appreciative of theyre really appreciative of what theyre what weve done. Theyre excited about they can about the things that they can do the future of their do to change the future of their town and build on all the town here and build on all the great work thats already happening. And thats what i want across the country. If we can move on to the international situation. Prime minister, biden in minister, President Biden is in israel be israel today. When will you be going . What do you hope a visit might achieve . Obviously, wouldnt well, obviously, i wouldnt comment any future travel comment on any future travel plans what i can plans on my part. But what i can say already playing say is were already playing a leading in helping to leading role in helping to coordinate response this coordinate the response to this crisis. Had crisis. S particularly, ive had calls leaders from across calls with leaders from across the Prime Minister calls with leaders from across thnisrael Prime Minister calls with leaders from across thnisrael twice, Prime Minister calls with leaders from across thnisrael twice, butne minister calls with leaders from across thnisrael twice, but alsoinister of israel twice, but also leaders from saudi arabia, egypt, turkey, qatar , the egypt, turkey, qatar, the Palestinian Authority, the king of jordan was recently in downing street. In all those conversations, we stressed the need to get humanitarian support out into the region. And weve announced more Financial Support to do that monday. But also to do that on monday. But also the need to not to escalate this crisis and do everything we can to tensions. But we will to reduce tensions. But we will continue to do that and continue to have dialogue with everyone, bnng to have dialogue with everyone, bring humanitarian support into the , as we the region. You know, as we stand israel, have the stand by israel, they have the right to defend themselves. What happened appalling act happened was an appalling act of terrorism by hamas. Think we terrorism by hamas. I think we can all see that. And its important that israel take the steps that they need to make sure that their country and their citizens feel safe. Be clear, have no so to be clear, you have no plans there at the moment. Plans to go there at the moment. Again, you wouldnt you wouldnt wouldnt wouldnt comment me, wouldnt expect to expect the Prime Minister to comment on future travel plans. Are already playing but we are already playing a leading role in coordinating the response to this crisis. Ive spoken much every spoken to pretty much every leader region, the prime leader in the region, the Prime Minister twice. Weve minister of israel. Twice. Weve increased into increased our aid funding into the were actively the region. Were actively involved dialogue with involved in dialogue with all parties secure the parties also to secure the return of hostages, the british hostages are there hostages that are held there support the british nationals that in israel well. And that are in israel as well. And weve brought hundred weve already brought hundred several of them home on a variety flights. Were variety of flights. So were doing we to make doing everything we can to make a difference. Strike in on the hospital strike in particular, where are we any clearer who was responsive clearer on who was responsive for what was your for that . And what was your reaction those scenes . For that . And what was your reanyeah, those scenes . For that . And what was your reanyeah, i those scenes . For that . And what was your reanyeah, i think those scenes . For that . And what was your reanyeah, i think like se scenes . For that . And what was your reanyeah, i think like everyone; . For that . And what was your reanyeah, i think like everyone , yeah, i think like everyone, we would have all seen the scenes the day of the scenes over the last day of the hospital and been shocked scenes over the last day of the ho it. al and been shocked scenes over the last day of the hosit. Those and been shocked scenes over the last day of the hosit. Those are nd been shocked scenes over the last day of the hosit. Those are difficult shocked by it. Those are difficult things to see. The loss of any innocent life is tragic and we mourn all of them. And our thoughts are with all their families. It is important in this instance not to jump to conclusions. We have to establish the facts and premature speculation, i think would be wrong. And thats not the right thing. This is a very heightened, sensitive situation. Heightened, sensitive situation. And so we just need calm heads. Our Intelligence Services are working through the evidence themselves. I met with the chair of the joint Intelligence Committee my National Committee and my National Security adviser this morning. We independently, security adviser this morning. We also independently, security adviser this morning. We also alliesependently, security adviser this morning. We also allies to ndently, but also with allies to establish has happened and establish what has happened and in the meantime, doing everything can to bring everything we can to bring humanitarian into the humanitarian support into the region. Says region. James cleverly says those those those findings, those intelligence findings will be published that happen published when will that happen again . Right that we let again . Its right that we let our Intelligence Services work through evidence. Were also through the evidence. Were also talking allies to establish talking to allies to establish whats happening this is obviously a complicated situation on the ground, but its right that we approach it with a calm and cool manner. Dont rush to premature judgements. Take the time to understand has happened. Understand what has happened. Thats what were doing how thats what were doing and how concerned that israel concerned are you that israel may International May be breaking International Law blockades . Israel may be breaking International Law the blockades . Israel may be breaking International Law the right kades . Israel may be breaking International Law the right to des . Israel may be breaking International Law the right to defend israel may be breaking International Law the right to defend itselfael has the right to defend itself against what has been an appalling, barbaric act of terrorism by hamas , and they terrorism by hamas, and they need to make sure that they can keep their citizens safe. Thats the duty of government. People would expect nothing less from me and the government if something this happened Something Like this happened here. Important here. But its also important that they operate accordance that they operate in accordance with and with International Law. And indeed, of israel with International Law. And indesaid of israel with International Law. And indesaid that of israel with International Law. And indesaid that their of israel with International Law. And indesaid that their militaryael has said that their military forces will indeed do that. Now, this is obviously made more complicated by the fact that hamas, the terrorist organisation, embeds itself inside a civilian populations. But we have urged israel to take every possible precaution to avoid harming civilians. Final question, if i may, premised on inflation, i think we heard Andrew Griffith earlier blame some of your covid spending as part of the reason for inflation. For higher inflation. Responsible for high are you responsible for high inflation . I mean, inflation a global i mean, inflation is a global phenomenon, can see. Phenomenon, as everyone can see. This is happening across the world a result the world as a result of the pandemic and the war in ukraine. Driving energy prices. Thats driving up energy prices. Thats why at the beginning of this yean why at the beginning of this year, set out five priorities year, i set out five priorities for british that for the British Public that i wanted deliver. The first of wanted to deliver. The first of those was inflation. Those was to halve inflation. Why because its inflation thats putting up the price of things, eating thats putting up the price of thingpeoples eating thats putting up the price of thingpeoples savings, eating thats putting up the price of thingpeoples savings, making into peoples savings, making them thats them feel poorer. Thats why weve bring inflation weve got to bring inflation down. Making progress down. We are making progress towards the last few towards that. The last few months show that months of data show that inflation is coming down and im confident it will continue confident that it will continue to down after todays to come down after todays numbers. Important that numbers. And its important that we to the plan. The plan we stick to the plan. The plan is want to ease the is working. I want to ease the burden cost of living for burden on the cost of living for families. Make the families. Thats why i make the decisions i do everything families. Thats why i make the de geared i do everything families. Thats why i make the de geared towardsa everything families. Thats why i make the de geared towards easingthing families. Thats why i make the de geared towards easing those is geared towards easing those pressures and stick to pressures. And if we stick to the plan, thats what well be able deliver. The plan, thats what well be abl primezliver. The plan, thats what well be abl Prime Minister. The plan, thats what well be ablPrime Minister. Thank the plan, thats what well be abl Prime Minister. Thank you, Prime Minister. Thank you, Prime Minister sunak there. Look, in just a few well, look, in just a few minutes time, ill be joined by the british iranian man who says that life that the police saved his life after a pro palestine protester threatened behead him in threatened to behead him in central last weekend. This is by the way, in london. Yeah, that was on saturday. Vahid beheshti was chased Central London because chased in Central London because he was holding an israeli flag. He was protesting outside the Foreign Office in opposition to the Islamic Revolutionary guard. Corps on gb news will now corps views on gb news will now be able to that a number of be able to see that a number of police intervened to Police Officers intervened to protect and aid other protect fayed and aid other activists. Im delighted to say that he has indeed managed to keep his head and hes showing me now in the studio. Thank you very, very much. Thank you. Great to have you on the show. So how scared were you when that was taking place on the streets of britain to see people willing to behead to essentially behead somebody for political for having different political views is unbelievable. Views is unbelievable. That, know, we are that, you know, we are witnessing such things in middle of london in 21st century. But i thought its my last day definitely with the with with the knowledge that i have from the knowledge that i have from the nature of this. I would say the nature of this. I would say groups because i dont call them palestinian protesters. These are terrorists. Its who they are terrorists. Its who they come with a knife in their pocket. Because because i had an israeli flag on my camp. I have israeli flag on my camp. I have been camping there for eight months in order to put irgc in the terrorist list. But these the terrorist list. But these guys, they cannot tolerate it. We can we cannot tolerate them in a in this with this kind of act in the middle of london. And to clarify, you are not jewish, right . No, im not not jewish. No, im not not jewish. Im not jewish. They they i dont know what they must have thought. But the idea now that somebody who say is jewish, who wants to wave the israeli flag in london, the implication is that their life might be at risk i now, basically, let me put it this way from 24 hours before this way from 24 hours before this event and the continuous day after this event by the police , of course, im alive now police, of course, im alive now talking to you because of the great work of our police force. Great work of our police force. But now instead of they controlling them, they keep asking me to bring the israeli flag down from my camp. And now flag down from my camp. And now imagine if the jewish person going out to the street with the israeli flag. So these people, they are to going force their idea to us with violence. We cannot tolerate that here in london. Do you think that symptomatic of the way that the United Kingdom as a whole, britain as a whole, being asked to deal whole, is being asked to deal with threat of radical with the threat of radical islamist terrorism, which is that we alter our lives and our way of life, and we have to remain vigilant and we have to be sympathetic as opposed to eradicate rating that problem. We have to stay a strong and firm. We have no choice in this country. We have been warning our leaders , our politicians, me our leaders, our politicians, me and my wife and my other human rights activists for past 18 years, about radicalisation in this country, in mosques, in islamic centres and the places that they are talking in their own language and their brainwash. Our youth. But we werent i think we werent aware enough of what was going on to be happen in here in this crucial moment. But i am going to tell Something Else is going to tell Something Else is going to get worse because as as israel enters gaza , iranians, israel enters gaza, iranians, they said theyre going to involve themselves. Theyre going to activate their sleeping agents here, which theyve been working on them for years. And we never too soft about it. So elaborate on that. Then. One of the concerns that a lot of people have is that whats going on in israel at the moment and in the wider region of the middle east, there will have a real world impact on the streets of britain. People in brussels of britain. People in brussels have just seen a individual driving around shooting people. People france have seen it. People in france have seen it. There were bomb threats at french airports today. I believe that synagogues that two synagogues in berlin were. Weve had red were firebombed. Weve had red paint over jewish schools paint thrown over jewish schools in this country. You seem pretty convinced theres a good convinced that theres a good chance were going to see an increased Terror Threat on the streets of britain as a result of whats going on. Definitely, we are in war. There no doubt about it. This there is no doubt about it. This is against terrorism. This is war against terrorism. This is war against terrorism. This is not israel war. This is our war. Are not defending war. We are not defending israel. Are defending war. We are not defending israel. Ine defending war. We are not defending israel. In ourfending war. We are not defending israel. In our soiliing war. We are not defending israel. In our soil here. And ourselves in our soil here. And iranians, iranian government, by activating their air agents in whole europe, they are going to put pressure on us to pull out from israel and stop what israel is going through , which there is is going through, which there is there is no other choice. There is no other choice. Well, what if what if israel didnt do a Ground Invasion . What if israel said , right, what if israel said, right, were drawing a line under this now, would that make everybody else safer . Else safer . Its not going to make us safer. Its going put us its not going to make us safer. Its going put us in safer. Its going to put us in a very worse situation. Definitely. Israel my opinion should go all the way. We have to get rid of hamas, hezbollah, jihad, islam and the head of octopus. These are what octopus. These are what i counted are the legs and the hands of octopus , the head of hands of octopus, the head of octopus, irgc , iranian islamic octopus, irgc, iranian Islamic Revolutionary guard corps. With iran, its going to happen. This is this is going to happen. World war iii, the foreign the foreign minister of iran two days ago, he has stated if israel entered to gaza , were israel entered to gaza, were not going to sit down and watch. He goes and finish hamas and then come after hezbollah. That then come after hezbollah. That means we are going to get involved there. So but there is a shortcut. I always said as long as soon as iranian government involved themselves directly in this war, we have 80 million iranian, which theyre going to raise inside the country against this regime. And theyre they are the one whos who are going to finish the job. What should we do now, in your view, as a country . What should rishi sunak do . What should rishi sunak do . What should rishi sunak do . What should our British Population in be doing now . The first step rishi sunak mr Prime Minister rishi sunak should place irgc , iranian should place irgc, iranian Islamic Revolutionary guard corps , the godfather of hamas, corps, the godfather of hamas, hezbollah , jihad islamiyya and hezbollah, jihad islamiyya and other terrorist group and the terrorists. What difference would that make . What difference would that make . What difference would that make life here . People make to my life here . To people watching in burnley or blackburn or rochdale or wherever, how does that affect their lives . That send a strong so that that send a strong message to iranian government that they sponsor all these terrorist group. The first we have to put them on the terrorist list which we had to do it two years ago, three years ago, when we proscribe hamas , ago, when we proscribe hamas, when we proscribe hezbollah, because the legally we have to do presumably then do presumably that means then that able, in theory, do presumably that means then th. Deport able, in theory, do presumably that means then th. Deport peopleible, in theory, do presumably that means then th. Deport people who in theory, do presumably that means then th. Deport people who supporty, to deport people who support him. Hes going to make it really easy for us to close down this affiliation that they have connection with irgc. Were connection with irgc. Were going to put proper limitation on their Financial Sector outside of iran because that is very important for them, for their terrorist operation outside of iran. So there are outside of iran. So there are proscribing irgc is going to put us in the very, very better place. But on the other way, we have to stand strong next to israel, shoulder by shoulder to clean the middle east. We have no choice. This clean the middle east. We have no choice. This is like a cancen no choice. This is like a cancer. We are going through this surgery. Its going to be painful, but we have to go through. It also means it also means that we are going to have a lot of genuine civilians who live in that part of the world who will be affected and displaced as a result of it. And so what result of it. And so what happens there . Because i think we all know what happens there, which is that then europe and britain takes a lot of those people. Who do you think thats people. Who do you think thats our duty . Our duty . Its not about taking those people. If we act by wisdom, thats very important. Thats thats very important. Thats what israel is doing now, because entering why they didnt enter into gaza 500km a tunnel, we have under the hospital under the schools, under the peoples house, full of explosion. So they were waiting for israeli troops to enter to gaza. So they do advise. So if we take the do advise. So if we take the steps a step by step by wisdom, we can control the issue as well. Just to clarify then, you are pretty adamant that we are are on the brink of an absolutely massive war in the middle east. Its we are in it, right. We are in it. We are in it. Okay. And that is going to have consequences on the streets of britain for you. You think you think that there are people who will use that as a catalyst to not just here the whole europe is going to affect whole europe is going to affect whole europe because theyve been working on it for years now, for years. They getting themselves ready for these days. So at least we for these days. So at least we have to wake up now. And the strong. Strong. Okay. And just a final one with you personally. How i mean, with you personally. How i mean, theres a kind of a bounty on your head, right . So how are you doing . Im im for the past eight months, im camping in front of Foreign Office in kings charles street. I live in the street. Street. I live in the street. First 72 days i was on hunger strike. I lost around 20kg. Two weeks in a hospital. Then i came back because i know what im fighting for. I know the true natures. I know what happened exactly last night with the situation of the hospital. I know exactly because i. I witnessed the same situation in three years ago when the irgc shut down the ukrainian passenger aeroplane. S7 252 and killed 176 people with two missiles. And for three days they look into camera and lied to the whole world. And after three days, after all evidence , three days, after all evidence, they they said, we done it. They they said, we done it. All right, look, thank you very, very much for coming in. And obviously stay safe. Thank you. And i wish you wish you all the best. You take care. All right. Thank you very, very much for that. It was the individual who was chased through the streets, beheshti there, chased through streets through the streets and threatened beheading as a threatened with beheading as a result of his views. Right. Well, another day, another protest in london. Now pro palestine activists will hold a demonstration outside downing street. Thats due to get going very , very shortly. Get going very, very shortly. Were going to cross shortly anyway to downing street to speak to our National Reporter, theo chikomba. And this is you theo chikomba. And this is you know, a concern for people as Tensions Mount on the streets of britain as to whether or not were going to see anything kick off. Is there for us right off. Theo is there for us right now. Theo chikomba gosh, its a im glad im indoors, theo, i must say. Well, whats going on where you are . Where you are . Yeah. Yeah. Lucky for some a well, a very good afternoon to you. And what we understand is that vigil is taking place here just opposite downing street. So on my right, if were just able to have a look several probably well over 100 people now have just been arriving in the last few minutes. Members from various groups, including the socialist worker group and the palestinian various organisations from across london and around the uk. And it will be interesting to hear what many of them have to say. Weve seen some of them Holding Placards showing a picture of that blast which went off yesterday at the al ali hospital where there are reports of several hundred who have died and hundred several who have been injured and just a few hundred yards from here. Earlier today in the house of commons, we heard from the Prime Minister who was urging mps to not be quick to judge what has happened, but allow specialists to in order to carry out investigations, to see what has happened. Weve, of course, heard in the last few hours from Israeli Military spokespeople who say they have done their investigations and say this was not something that was fired from them , but its a case where from them, but its a case where we are still waiting to see what the result of what happened yesterday, causing many deaths. But in the next 30 minutes or so, well be hearing from speakers just over my Left Shoulder there is a lectern up on the stage. And of course, on the stage. And of course, this will be attended by many people who will be arriving here into Central London at downing street. Yeah, theo, great stuff. Look, well be going back to theo, of course, as he diligently stands out in the rain for us to cover a pro palestine protest. Pro palestine protest. Interesting pro palestine protest. Interesting that he said that the socialist Workers Party had turned it will be turned up as well. It will be quite fascinating to see exactly who arrives that is who arrives there. That is outside street. And outside downing street. And again, tensions massively high because happened at the because of what happened at the hospital last night. And hospital in gaza last night. And some information, some of the information, misinformation coming misinformation thats coming out around look, around that. But, look, unfortunately, wasnt here unfortunately, i wasnt here yesterday, so i couldnt give my verdict being verdict on Greta Thunberg being arrested in london. But dont worry , im going to put that worry, im going to put that right next Patrick Christys gb news, britains news channel. The Camilla Tominey show sunday mornings from 930 on. Gb news. News. Welcome back. It is 448. Youre watching or listening to me. Patrick christys on gb news. Look out 5 00. Im going to be asking, should we take in refugees from gaza . Are they our responsibility . Humza yousaf responsibility . Humza yousaf certainly think so. But i wanted to talk about a couple of crime stories first that are in the news today. Firstly, trans news today. Firstly, a trans butcher who sexually abused a young girl for 27 hours has been jailed for 20 years. Andrew miller, who now claims to be called amy george, abducted the Primary School aged child when she was walking home in the Scottish Borders as yet. The other crime story today is whats been dubbed as britains first private police force, taking a suspected shoplifter to court after the Actual Police didnt investigate. So two stories to go out here. Joining us is the former met police us now is the former met police officer, graham whetton, to pick through of those. Through both of those. Graham, lets with absolutely lets start with that absolutely depraved story of this trans butcher who was raped sexually abused, a Primary School aged girl after kidnapping her initially. And remarkably still referred to as her in a lot of the british media. Its an absolute shocker that story, it makes your stomach turn, doesnt it . Yeah read it earlier. Its and dressed as a woman which which is why the young girl got in a car in the first place. And you read like one a line from her statement. She felt she was safe getting into a car with a woman. So thats why she got in the car, then held, held hostage for 27 hours, all full. Um, 27 odd hours, all full. Um, awful awful awful situation. An awful incident for her. Managed to dial 999 when she managed to dial 999 when he asleep the police he fell asleep and the police turned rescued her. Turned up and rescued her. But i would like to think the police have got to now looking significantly into his background, his offending background, his offending backgroun been background, his offending backgrounbeen doing, background, his offending backgroun been doing, the cars what hes been doing, the cars hes been using, etcetera, because, you know, these because, you know, often these these incidents escalate as in these incidents escalate as in the behaviour the offending behaviour escalates. So id like to think they you know, this isnt they are, you know, this isnt finished to going finished yet. Theyre to going look him, maybe even look back into him, maybe even interview hes in interview him again once hes in pnson interview him again once hes in prison if theres any prison and see if theres any other that to light. Do you think 20 years is long enough for that . Enough for that . You know, Police Officers never involved in actual never get involved in actual sentencing. Sentencing. To the courts and its down to the courts and the judges. Have your views the judges. You have your views on it. You have almost like an idea in you think in your head of what you think is a fair, determinate is a is a fair, determinate sentence. It often doesnt meet what Police Officers have in their so you we their mind. So you know, we often dont tend comment often dont tend to comment on sentencing thats thats sentencing because thats thats the remit of the judges and the courts, and thats for the justice but, um, i would Justice System. But, um, i would like it would have been like to think it would have been a little bit than that. A little bit more than that. Think most people yeah. I think most people would well. Think. Any idea would as well. I think. Any idea of rehabilitation, especially after what poor primary after what that poor Primary School victim must had school aged victim must have had to beyond to endure, is possibly beyond hope, lets just hope, i think. But lets just move on to another police story. Im by this, im fascinated by this, actually. A private police actually. So a private police force called tm. I as in i spelt like the two that ive got in my head here has been employed by m s after somebody nicked apparently 500 quids worth of booze. I apparently 500 quids worth of booze. I think it was there some state its a great night, by the way, but an and then theyve theyve managed to nick them because the Actual Police chose not to or could not invest gate. Ive not got a problem with private police force. I dont know about you, but if they get the job done, isnt it all right . No shaking your head, no, no, no. I agree with you. The i think it was £500 worth of steak and 20 bottles of prosecco, which, as said, it sounds like a as you said, it sounds like a great night, but as a theft, great night, but but as a theft, that fairly significant. I that is fairly significant. I would think that that would like to think that that that type even, say, that is a type of even, say, even a shoplifting as such as its classified as a theft from a id like to think that a shop. Id like to think that level, that of theft level, that degree of theft should investigated a little level, that degree of theft sho more investigated a little level, that degree of theft sho more thoroughly ed a little level, that degree of theft sho more thoroughly than little level, that degree of theft sho more thoroughly than than bit more thoroughly than than maybe what was done. Having said that know, are that, you know, tmi are a specific group that do private investigator actions. Um, look at certain cases. So theyve got at certain cases. So theyve got a limited , um, perspective in a limited, um, perspective in what theyre dealing with, understandably so, because there are accompany policing has to deal with everything. And the officers actually went to attend this incident may this call. This incident may well carrying 2030 crimes. So well be carrying 2030 crimes. So again, theyre doing a multitude of got other of other jobs. Theyve got other cases on their in their work file. So maybe they didnt file. So maybe they didnt realise the significance or the evidential value that was there. Well, every, every case well, every, every, every case should be investigated. Yeah its also sometimes i think with these it seemed a bit of a victimless crime. If steal victimless crime. If you steal from big superstore like an from a big superstore like an m s, been harmed. There m s, no ones been harmed. There wasnt sign of a threat on wasnt any sign of a threat on the anything. Thats the way out or anything. Thats always walked out with some booze some steak. Maybe booze and some steak. Maybe given else going given Everything Else going on. But is this. But my take on it is this. I think our Police Officers are overstretched. Theyre underpaid. Not allowed underpaid. Theyre not allowed to out strike like a lot to go out on strike like a lot of other people. And do an of other people. And they do an unbelievable job unbelievable for job this country. You end up country. Of course, you end up with who maybe do with someone who will maybe do the macarena at pride the macarena at a gay pride event, im in favour event, which im not in favour of, if we have if we have of, but if we have if we have got private firms who are responsible and are regulated, who take the load who are able to take the load off, the problem . If at off, whats the problem . If at the end of the day bad guys get caught . I think thats all right. Greg, were right. But look, greg, were going to leave there. Going to have to leave it there. Im afraid. Goodman, great im afraid. Mark goodman, great to to you as ever. Take to chat to you as ever. Take care see you soon. Care and ill see you soon. Sorry wasnt there. Former met sorry i wasnt there. Former met police lets just police officer. Now lets just get greta. Ive got just get to greta. Ive got just enough to greta. Enough time to get to greta. Shes charged after she was shes been charged after she was arrested at protest in central arrested at a protest in Central London yesterday. She was with a group themselves as group who called themselves as fossil now she fossil free london. Now she is being into back of being carted into the back of a police tom burke has been police van. Tom burke has been charged with a breach of the pubuc charged with a breach of the public order act. Was of public order act. She was one of 26 people been bailed. 26 people whove been bailed. Now at westminster now to appear at westminster magistrates on november Magistrates Court on november the 15th. And we are looks quite happy with herself, doesnt she . Happy with herself, doesnt she . Huh. Interesting oh well. Oh, greta. Right. Well. Oh well , greta. Right. Well. Oh well, never mind. Anyway those lawsuits come between now and 6 00. Im going to be going back to that protest on downing street. The pro palestine protest, which bizarrely or not, that bizarrely , i suppose that bizarrely, i suppose the socialist workers have socialist Workers Group have apparently to as well. Apparently turned up to as well. Always interesting to keep an eye what are the eye on what flags are in the crowd events that. So crowd at events like that. So were to going be looking at that. That becomes comes as that. That becomes that comes as there tensions there are heightened tensions following at an following an attack at an hospital in gaza where several hundred people are believed to have lost their lives. The blame game originally was with israel and now supposedly its back with hamas. Im going to be talking about whether or not we are this country to be are okay in this country to be taking from gaza. Taking in refugees from gaza. Humza yousaf that we should humza yousaf says that we should be taking in refugees from the gaza despite egypt, turkey gaza strip despite egypt, turkey and jordan saying that theyre not going to take a single one. Why should we . Do we have a duty to it . Do you look at the images taking place in gaza now and you think that we as a nation have a responsible rmt to those people . Thats why theres a red thats why theres been a red warning issued eastern scotland highest risk area for widespread and severe flooding by the time we get to friday. Initially babette is moving up from the south. Its brought plenty of rain to wales and to the south of england through the day. That then moves into the midlands, Northern England and northern ireland. By end of the night ireland. By the end of the night with 50mm, perhaps with 30 to 50mm, perhaps a little more in some parts of northern ireland. But by dawn the rain is approaching southern scotland, north of scotland, the far north of scotland, the far north of scotland, staying dry, drier interludes further south as well. All areas subject to a well. But all areas subject to a strengthening wind , a lot of strengthening wind, a lot of cloud and therefore a relatively mild start. But it is going to be an unsettled start, wet and windy for many places. The rain windy for many places. The rain in the south clearing to sunny spells and heavy showers, but for northern ireland, it stays damp. Southern scotland also remaining damp, but its eastern scotland where well see that rainfall turn heavier and heavier as the day goes by. And persistent over eastern hills, particularly over parts of aberdeenshire and angus. Now aberdeenshire and angus. Now thats likely to result by the end of friday in two or to 250mm of rain, building up in some parts of angus and aberdeenshire. Thats an exceptional amount of rain. Even for this part of the world. Thats why there is that very real and very significant risk of flooding further wet and windy weather into weekend good evening. Its 5 pm. Its Patrick Christys gb news. Is it our responsibility debate on that . Im also going to be discussing this as well. What is the this story as well. What is the islamist britain like islamist threat in britain like following and whats following the events and whats possibly come in the middle possibly to come in the middle east . How concerned are you . East . How concerned are you . Weve seen six airports in france succumb to bomb threat france succumb to a bomb threat today. Berlin today. He also confirmed 100 million of new us funding for humanitarian aid for gaza and for the west bank. Earlier he met with the israeli Prime Minister and President Bidens visit was due to be a Diplomatic Mission to prevent an escalation of the conflict in the region. But after last nights bombing of a hospital in gaza, those planned meetings with other regional leaders were cancelled. Cancelled. You are a jewish state, but youre also a democracy. Unlike youre also a democracy. Unlike the United States, you dont live by the rules of terrorist. Live by the rules of terrorist. You live by the rule of law. For you live by the rule of law. Well, the us president also supported the Israeli Defence forces claims that the explosion at the al al Arab Hospital in gaza last night was caused by a failed rocket attack on israel by the Palestinian Islamic jihad. They deny that, though officials in gaza blame an israeli airstrike for the nearly 500 deaths at the hospital yesterday on a visit to clacton on sea in essex today, rishi sunak described the hospital explosion as shocking but called for calm heads as intelligence analysts try to establish what happened. It is important in this instance not to jump to conclusions. We have to establish the facts and premature speculation, i think would be wrong. And thats not would be wrong. And thats not the right thing. This is a very heightened, sensitive situation. Heightened, sensitive situation. So we just need calm heads. In fact, it was welcomed in with open arms by a handful of politicians who were almost always going against the will of the majority of their own population. Decisions were own population. Decisions were made by a handful of politicians that have led and will lead to the irrevocable negative impact of an entire continent and the lives of hundreds of millions of people who live in it. And how many other people like him are there out there . I will never accept that, that dealing with severe Terror Threats, having to remain constantly vigilant on our streets or seeing bomb threats, actual firebombs as stabbings and shootings , stabbings and shootings, supposedly in the name of a radical extreme interpretation of a religion that appears to be completely at odds with europes way of life. Is normal. Its not normal. It way of life. Is normal. Its not normal. It has way of life. Is normal. Its not normal. It has never been normal. It has never been normal. It has never been normal. And it must never aloud be allowed to become normal. Be allowed to become normal. Yeah its that radical fundamentalist interpretation of it, isnt it . And that is the aspect that i just feel very, very concerned about. Very concerned about. Vaiews gbnews. Com. But another day, another protest in london. Pro palestine activists are currently holding a demonstration outside downing street. So these are people, of course, who are in favour of palestine. And were going to go palestine. And were going to go now to Central London to speak to our National Reporter, theo chikomba, where it is still absolutely hammering it down with rain. It must be said, theo, going where you theo, whats going on where you are . Yes well, as the heavens have opened, hundreds of people have arrived here just outside downing street. As you mentioned, just a few moments ago. It is a group of pro palestinian groups, a range of them including socialist workers and a number of others who have travelled here. You may be able to hear some of the chanting if you just look over my Left Shoulder where there are many people, where theres a lectern and speakers will be hearing from shortly and many of them have been highlighting that blast or explosion. Shall i say, which was seen yesterday at Al Ahli Hospital where several hundred have died and several hundred have died and several hundred are also injured. But the question today will be asking them is, does israel have the right to defend itself . We heard earlier from the Prime Minister, rishi sunak , in the minister, rishi sunak, in the house of commons during Prime Minister question time, saying israel has a right to defend itself and he is working with allies, speaking to many across the world to see if theres corridors for humanitarian aid to go into both israel and in gaza. And as weve seen , the us gaza. And as weve seen, the us president is now in that area. But in terms of whos responsible for that blast, we saw yesterday, the Prime Minister is quick to say to mps today that they shouldnt rush today that they shouldnt rush to conclusions. To conclusions. Thank you very, very much, theo gikomba there, whos going to be reporting in the coming hours really from that demonstration that were seeing, which is pro palestine which is a pro palestine demonstration, also joined by a few , think he few other groups, i think he said socialist workers said that the socialist Workers Party. Theo, is going to be getting and getting in amongst that and asking of asking people a couple of questions do you think that questions like do you think that israels the to exist . Israels got the right to exist . Israels got the right to exist . I thought was quite telling i thought that was quite telling there that he was saying that people blast people are mentioning that blast at in gaza. At that hospital in gaza. Massive, massive, massive blame at that hospital in gaza. Massitakingssive, massive blame at that hospital in gaza. Massitaking place. Nassive blame at that hospital in gaza. Massitaking place. Currently. Ame game taking place. Currently taking over that. Was taking place over that. Who was responsible for it . Initially, it was israel. Israel it was israel. Israel responsible. This was an airstrike. How dare they . 500 airstrike. How dare they . 500 people, innocent civilians have died while seeking shelter in a hospital car park. This is a war crime. And then quite quickly, israel came out and said theyve done own investigation. Done their own investigation. They have uncovered clips of they say theyve they say they say theyve uncovered clips of audio recordings between hamas and other kind of militant groups. Theyre talking about how that missile may have been their own that shot down, that misfired or was shot down, etcetera. That blame game etcetera. So that blame game continues little bit later on continues a little bit later on this hour. Going to be this hour. Im going to be having on this about having a debate on this about how quick people are to believe things social things that they see on social media and or not people media and whether or not people are likely to believe it if are more likely to believe it if it comes from israel, whether or not likely not there should be more likely to if it comes from to believe it if it comes from israel, etcetera. But rishi sunak condemned for sunak has condemned hamas for causing suffering and causing untold suffering and says uk is working with says that the uk is working with qatar release of qatar to secure the release of british after hamas british hostages after hamas blamed that hospital blamed israel for that hospital attack that killed hundreds of palestinians yesterday, the israel force said an israel Defence Force said an Islamic Group was Islamic Terror Group was responsible it. The prime responsible for it. The Prime Minister had to say. Minister had this to say. Not rush to we should not rush to judgement before we have all the facts this awful situation. Facts on this awful situation. In member will know that in every member will know that the here have an the words we say here have an impact this house. This impact beyond this house. This morning i met with the National Security adviser, but also the chair of the joint Intelligence Committee. The committee. I can tell the honourable gentleman our intelligence have been Intelligence Services have been rapidly analysing the evidence to independently establish the facts. We are not in a position facts. We are not in a position at this point to say more than that, but i can tell him we are working at pace, but also co operating and collaborating with our allies on this issue. As we look to get to the bottom of the situation and we will also continue our efforts to also continue all our efforts to get aid the get humanitarian aid into the region. Region. Right. And joe biden has been holding crisis talks in israel. Hes reiterated his support for the israelis. He blamed last nights gaza hospital explosion on what he called the other team, which has not gone down particularly well. His choice of language. It was a hard watch. Joe biden, but usually is that said , i think if you were an said, i think if you were an israeli, he would have been saying all of the right things. Lets now to tel aviv, lets cross now to tel aviv, speak our reporter charlie speak to our reporter charlie peters. That blame game peters. Charlie, that blame game continues hospital continues after that hospital attack. It . Whats the attack. Doesnt it . Whats the latest where are . We latest then, where you are . We well, us President Joe Biden has now left israel after an eight hour flying visit and he left the country to the sound of rocket sirens as missiles from the gaza strip likely fired by hamas or the Palestinian Islamic jihad rained down on central israel. We have seen footage of the iron dome intercepting them. Theyre here for each rocket costs 100,000. And today, President Joe Biden reaffirmed that the us would be ripped , that the us would be ripped, replenishing those iron dome air Defence Systems in israel as it continues to fire down an unprecedented level of rockets fired in from the gaza strip, but also from southern lebanon. He achieved two things today that joe biden did. Firstly, he put a mission fonnard from the washington side on what their analysis is on what happened last night in north gaza. They expressed that the Us Intelligence view is that the israeli side of events is the correct analysis. Israel this morning put fonnard some intelligence assets to say that the Palestinian Islamic jihad were to blame for a missile landing on the hospital. And footage this morning has cast doubt on the claims made last night by the Hamas Run Health Ministry in the gaza strip. They ministry in the gaza strip. They said that hundreds have died. Theres been no verification of that claim. And footage this that claim. And footage this morning shows a car park where some explosion has happened, but not the kind of devastation you might expect with an israeli £1,000 bomb. Biden also achieved Something Else. One of the key aims of us diplomacy in israel since the start of this war, and thatis since the start of this war, and that is the access of humanitarian aid into south gaza, where so many people, almost a million, have fled from the north since the start of this war. Charlie, thank you very much. Charlie peters there, our man in tel aviv. Were going to be tel aviv. Were going to be returning to that hospital blame game is taking place a little bit later on. Were going be having a debate on that as to how easily people believe whats coming out of hamas. Similarly, you could argue as well with israel and im going to be playing an audio recording playing you an audio recording of israel released , of what israel have released, which appears to show hamas discussing that they might have been responsible or they were unresponsive for this hospital blast. Unresponsive for this hospital blast. Just asking who you blast. Just asking who you believe in all of this. Anyway as of course, night follows day, there are calls for the uk now to take refugees from gaza. Scottish first minister humza yousaf led the way in his speech at the snp conference yesterday. Im calling today on the International Community to commit to a worldwide Refugee Program for the people of gaza. Program for the people of gaza. But of course there wouldnt need to be a world wide Refugee Program for the people of gaza, spearheaded by the people of scotland. If neighbouring countries took the people of gaza. Countries took the people of gaza. Joining me now is former gaza. Joining me now is former labour mp and minister of state for europe is denis macshane. Dennis thank very much. Dennis thank you very much. Why are people of gaza as are the people of gaza as sympathetic as we are, are responsibility . Not genuinely not sure im not genuinely not sure that they are particularly. I think the Scottish Nationalist leader is just trying to make a point for his conference, Say Something that other people havent said. And the reason they havent said it is because its not. Theyre not asking that. There asking for that. Sorry, there are gazans knocking on zodiac are no gazans knocking on zodiac boats in on the french coast to come here. It probably would be more inclined, i would have thought, to go to egypt , to thought, to go to egypt, to turkey or to jordan, all of whom have said they wont take them. Well, they dont allowed egypt had a terrible time when the muslim brotherhood, which took over egypt and slapped it on a real dictatorship. This was after the arab spring. Hamas are part of the muslim brothers good family. Theyre much more militant and militaristic. And duke killers. Ditto in turkey. Mr erdogan is. Ditto in turkey. Mr erdogan is. Does that not tell us everything that we might need to know , dennis, which is that if know, dennis, which is that if other nations right around gaza dont want to take in so called refugees just in case theyve been infiltrated by a hard line islamist militant group, why is the leader of the Scottish National Party Opening britains doors . I dont think anybody who comes here is a militant person wants to come here. They can get here quite easily anyway cause mayhem. Weve just had two swedes killed in belgium. Weve had a terrible in belgium. Weve had a terrible knifing in arras. Thats in northern france by an islamist. That islamist impulse is still there , and its probably lurking there, and its probably lurking in the breasts of some people in britain who may very well have been born in britain. Educated in britain. Yeah, just in britain. Yeah, but i just want to keep it on whether or not we need to take that risk. Its not a risk. Isnt the question. Well, with respect this, well, with respect to this, the people turkey and egypt the people of turkey and egypt and think its a risk. And jordan think its a risk. No, theyre not saying they wont take them in because they think they might be killed in their beds. Their beds. There are deep politics in turkey on muslim brotherhood. I give you a lecture on egypt. I wont dont worry. But that holds up is discussions you and ihave holds up is discussions you and i have had patrick, that the simple off the shelf solution put up a huge barrier to anybody coming in claiming to be a refugee, rightly or wrongly, donald trump tried to build his famous wall. Whats the our interior minister, Suella Braverman has tried to stop anybody coming in, but even the more she says dont come, the more she says dont come, the more they come. Yeah, but the general the overall point is this is we have got an intractable problem in the middle east. Weve got an intractable problem in ukraine. 1 or 2 other world flashpoints we are very nervously getting close to something very big. Yeah, we are. Well, we are no 100. Just keeping it in line with what humza yousaf has said though. Humza yousaf has said though. Must we . Yeah. Must must, must we take, you know. Is this. Must we take, you know. Is this. Must we . Im sorry. I dont regard that person as a serious political leader. Excuse me. Does he not have a lot of the same views as you . Not a lot to my knowledge. I wont go into pro eu. Isnt he . Isnt he . Well, hes very pro eu. Well, hes very pro eu. Hes probably got similar views. I mean youve got youre wearing ukrainian flag with wearing a ukrainian flag with the eu stars around it. Europe, i thats him isnt it. I mean thats him isnt it. Giving more europe is giving more military the Ukraine Military aid to the ukraine than the states. The United States. Anti tory or very anti tory. I think youll find that hes a list. Im not a national list. Im not a nationalist. The tories are engush nationalist. The tories are english nationalists under the present conservative hes present conservative party. Hes the of the Scottish Branch of nationalism. Hes just mucked up the Health Service , a lot of the Health Service, got a lot of relatives. I was born in rutherglen. Upset in rutherglen. I was very upset in that last a that by election last week. A lot of relatives there. No, i lot of relatives up there. No, i wasnt a particular fan of Nicola Sturgeon or alex salmond, but at least you felt there was an intellect there. This is just an intellect there. This is just a pudding saying , you a giant pudding saying, you know, blah, blah, how i get know, blah, blah, how do i get a headune know, blah, blah, how do i get a headline in the Scottish Press . Oh, know. Appeal to the right. But dennis, im sorry, im just going to drill down on this because this is a massive problem that i look around europe and handful of europe now and a handful of politicians have made decisions that have impacted the lives of the vast majority of people who hundreds of millions of People Living on a continent, whether it Angela Merkel deciding to it was Angela Merkel deciding to throw open throw the doors open to a million or however refugees million or however many refugees or people unelected or whether its people unelected people, a lot of the time in europe talking about we need open borders and all of this. And we have real world consequences. Weve got some from tunisia riding the from tunisia riding around the streets brussels with an streets of brussels with an ak 47 a moped. Weve got 47 on a moped. Now weve got some guy in scotland who very few have voted few people have actually voted for opening for talking about opening britains people of britains doors to the people of gaza, despite the fact that localities in that think localities in that area think that end up, that they might end up, unfortunately, being the that they might end up, unf0|ofnately, being the that they might end up, unf0|of people, being the that they might end up, unf0|of people, you eing the that they might end up, unf0|of people, you know, le that they might end up, unf0|of people, you know, very kind of people, you know, very few people are making decisions that impacting of that are impacting the lives of millions people out there. Millions of people out there. Its a massive problem. Dennis, this kind of politics. Patrick, dont confuse motor miles. Party conferences miles. That Party Conferences with time decisions. With real time decisions. Theyve not. I mean, Angela Merkel a very poor decision merkel made a very poor decision in view , and i criticised it in my view, and i criticised it at at the time. But we are at at at the time. But we are taking in more immigrants than even taking in more immigrants than ever. If your problem is people from countries that dont respect law or democracy , respect law or democracy, nigeria, bits of india , theyre nigeria, bits of india, theyre all coming into england now under the tories that People Movement is just a huge problem. Movement is just a huge problem. If we wont discuss it rationally , we wont find a rationally, we wont find a solution. Solution. Well, the problem is you cant discuss it that rationally because people will just call you a racist or they call you far right or they you far right or they call you anything you or you call anything and you or you call me. To open the floodgates i want to open the floodgates to immigrants refugees to immigrants and refugees and terrorists. Does want open but europe does want open borders. Borders. Controlled borders. But want controlled borders. But why is the control in the control is in several different ways. If we talk about ways. I mean, if we talk about the european union, it is you dont get a job anywhere without an id card and a job. If you dont have that job, you have to go home. After three months. We didnt enforce that properly. Hence one of the reasons in 2016, a long time ago, mean, hence one of the reasons in 201|undeniablene ago, mean, hence one of the reasons in 201|undeniable factgo, mean, hence one of the reasons in 201|undeniable fact is. Mean, hence one of the reasons in 201|undeniable fact is it mean, hence one of the reasons in 201|undeniable fact is it is ean, easy. If you are an islamist terrorist, you wander through europe. There is worse. Islamist terrorism happens in muslim nafions terrorism happens in muslim nations and it happens in pakistan. It happens in iraq , in pakistan. It happens in iraq, in iran, now in syria. I mean, we iran, now in syria. I mean, we actually compared to non muslims, are spared the fate of muslims because this is an evil ideology that has very important people. And you you surely can understand why some people are very angry that a group of politicians may have allowed that to wander into europe. Right. Right. Im very angry now that we destroyed the state of syria and so is libya. No, in those two so is libya. No, in those two countries, we destroyed the state. So David Cameron could have a few headlines. And we in a failed state, everybody wants to get out. All right, dennis, thank you very much. Denis macshane, there is a former labour mp and minister of state for europe. Right. Look, as you know, gb news is the home of free speech. Heres the shame that say that about that you cant say that about the parliament. You the Welsh Parliament. Would you believe has banned believe the senate has banned your favourite news channel from being broadcast on tvs in parliament . Know its parliament . I know its laughable till you find laughable and wait till you find out bit about one out a little bit more about one of women who was behind it of the women who was behind it Patrick Christys gb views, britains channel that i knew had dewbs co week nights from. Six nights from. Six welcome back. 5 27. Youre watching or listening to me. Patrick christys on gb news now , Patrick Christys on gb news now, as you may know, gb news is the home of free speech, but its a shame that you cant say that about the Welsh Parliament. The senate has banned your favourite channel from being broadcast on tvs in parliament. In a move straight out of the school playground, a spokesperson straight out of the school playground, a spokesperson for the welsh speaker, elin jones , the welsh speaker, elin jones, said gb news has been removed from the Senate Internal Television System following a recent broadcast that was deliberately offensive, demeaning and, demeaning to public debate and, contrary to our parliaments values , there are now several values, there are now several ongoing ofcom investigations into channel. The commission into the channel. The commission will discuss the issue at a future meeting and staffer members who wish view gb news members who wish to view gb news will still be able to do so onune will still be able to do so online in the senate. Online in the senate. Interesting because some of the people who were celebrating the idea that gb news had been banned because of their values of this channel had themselves been referred to anti semitism training. So there you go. Gb training. So there you go. Gb News Reporter ben leo. Everybodys favourite, spent hours at the Welsh Assembly this morning trying to catch a word with those responsible for the ban. Found them particularly ban. But found them particularly camera shy. Camera shy. At the end of the day, choice is the driver of anything in a democracy and to ban a broadcaster an ofcom broadcaster thats got an ofcom licence and delivers an alternative view of things and is a mainstream broadcaster is completely undemocratic and its outrageous that its been enforced on members and their staff. I mean, what does it say about democracy and what does it say the Welsh Parliament . Say about the Welsh Parliament . What can you guys, the gb news viewers inside the news viewers and fans inside the parliament, do about this . There anything do is there anything you can do to challenge decision thats to challenge the decision thats been made . We be saying it is well, we will be saying it is under its censorship i we will be pushing for the reinstatement but reinstatement of gb news. But what would say to your viewers what i would say to your viewers is sure keep watching is make sure you keep watching gb news make a difference and make your voices heard. Okay so ben was there at the senate and that was andrew davies, who was, of course, a conservative lviv. Now, bens just arrived back in london from cardiff this minute. All right, where, uh, where are all the. The labour and the Committee Members who pushed this . Ben i mean, its interesting because we are. We will at some point soon. Anyway, have a clip that you can throw to of your attempts to get it. But what was your sense on ground there . Your sense on the ground there . Look, the welsh tories well, look, the welsh tories are this. Are outraged by this. Clearly, know, a lot they clearly, you know, a lot of content is right of of our content is right of centre. Furious that centre. Theyre furious that democratically theyve had a new station. Were regulated by ofcom , taken off the air by ofcom, taken off the air by these left leaning what they call authoritarians in the Welsh Parliament. I went to the Parliament Today to try and find some of the some of the the applied country, some of the labour who had labour politicians who had pretty enforced this ban pretty much enforced this ban without asking anyone. The without asking anyone. The problem was no one wanted to speak to me, only the tories wanted to vent their their fury. But interesting , this goes but its interesting, this goes back march. But its interesting, this goes bacso march. But its interesting, this goes bacso labour. But its interesting, this goes bacso labour member jenny so labour member Jenny Rathbone, she called in march for gb news to be banned from all internal tvs in the senate because we supposedly broadcast, quote unquote hateful views. The incident, the unfortunate incident that took place here a couple of weeks ago, a month or so ago, whenever it was, theyve pounced and used it as pounced on that and used it as an excuse to wipe us off the air. And it was interesting. I was still outside the Parliament Today, peered through the reception in. But reception wasnt allowed in. But what got the tvs . What have they got on the tvs . Bbc news and its funny because jenny last Jenny Rathbone on twitter last night, just read you her night, if i just read you her tweet, she was she was quite vocal tweet, she was she was quite vocal, actually, wasnt she . She was banging on about she said to report that the said pleased to report that the toxic longer toxic gb news is no longer broadcast inside the parliament. Tv stations. Good journalism broadcast inside the parliament. Tv steinyns. Good journalism broadcast inside the parliament. Tv stein challenging|rnalism broadcast inside the parliament. Tv stein challenging timesn broadcast inside the parliament. Tv stein challenging times. Essential in challenging times. Well, shes talking about well, look, shes talking about good journalism. Starters, good journalism. For starters, in 2019, she was suspended and warned by the labour party for really anti semitic comments. Really anti semitic comments. Really anti semitic comments. That was a warning for her. Yeah. Yeah. And i spoke to her, her office today, her press team to try and coax her out of the parliament. She was 50 yards away inside. I was outside and freezing myself to death. Freezing myself to death. She wouldnt come out. She wouldnt come out. And the reason was because they said that was having an they said that she was having an interview with the bbc, who we all the last 24 hours all know in the last 24 hours has themselves guilty of has themselves been guilty of fake has themselves been guilty of fakntheyve certainly they theyve certainly they certainly she she certainly copped it. And she she voluntarily i believe, on voluntarily went, i believe, on some kind anti semitism some kind of anti semitism course. And she was like ive course. And she was like ive said, yeah, issued with that warning some comments. Said, yeah, issued with that warning some comments. But warning over some comments. But i you did try and i believe you did try and contact yeah. Contact her. Yeah. I think got a clip of i think weve got a clip of my phone call with her office. So this is their response. I mean, were literally were literally probably from literally probably 50 yards from her. Building. Her. Shes inside the building. Were front. Shes were outside the front. Shes been quite vocal about the gb news ban on twitter. I mean, i think she it you know, think she owes it to, you know, the sake of democracy to come out speak to us and out and at least speak to us and explain decision in explain her her decision in supporting that. That ban, which has been widely criticised and the fact shes doing another interview the bbc speaks interview with the bbc speaks volumes. Were literally were volumes. Were literally were literally outside the front. Can she pop out for 30s . Im shes she pop out for 30s . Im shes not in the office here with us so. So. Wow. Wow. Wow. Thats a shock, isnt it . Thatis thats a shock, isnt it . That is a shock. But we arent going to be treated to a bit more of your experiences outside the senate later this evening, arent yeah arent we . Yeah made a great longer ive made a great longer video of chats with tory video of my chats with tory members also my attempts to members and also my attempts to speak Players Academy speak to the Players Academy members labour members. Speak to the Players Academy metunes labour members. Speak to the Players Academy metune in labour members. Speak to the Players Academy metune in to labour members. Speak to the Players Academy metune in to the labour members. Speak to the Players Academy metune in to the showur members. Speak to the Players Academy metune in to the show tonightbers. So tune in to the show tonight and youll see that longer package. Absolutely. The show which i will be covering this evening until and said, until 11 pm. And like i said, you are going to watch. You are going to want to watch. This a kind of hilarious and this is a kind of hilarious and also fascinating thing, the work that for us there that ben was doing for us there outside the welsh senate. Ben outside of the welsh senate. Ben leo, thank you very much. Leo, thank you very, very much. Right. Still right. Okay. So loads more still to now and 6 00, to come between now and 6 00, im to talk about this im going to talk about this blame broken out blame game, this broken out after of people have after hundreds of people have died that hospital died in that hospital attack yesterday first, it yesterday in gaza. But first, it is latest headlines with is your latest headlines with Polly Middlehurst. Patrick, thank you. Will the top stories this hour. The us President Joe Biden has been speaking in israel today, where hes announced an agreement to allow humanitarian aid to move from egypt into gaza. He also confirmed 100 million worth of new us funding for that aid in to gaza and the west bank. He also supported the Israeli Defence forces claims that the al Arab Hospital in gaza was caused by a failed rocket attack on israel by the Palestinian Islamic jihad group. While gazan officials blame israel , rishi officials blame israel, rishi sunak described the hospital explosion as shocking but called for calm heads as Intelligence Services try to establish exactly what did happen. And red weather warning for rain has been issued by the met office for parts of scotland, it means dangerous weather conditions are expected with extensive flooding posing a risk to life. The posing a risk to life. The weather warning running from 6 00 tomorrow evening until noon on friday. Storm babette has already hit the republic of ireland with flooding in cork and along the devon coast. Get more on all those stories by heading to our website. Gbnews. Com. Gbnews. Com. Well gb news. Com. Well, gbnews. Com. Well , for hundreds gbnews. Com. Well, for hundreds of palestinians were reportedly killed when a hospital was hit last night. At first, israel was blamed. In fact, al jazeera, which i happen to be watching live, had a camera inside that hospital and they were recording people bringing dead bodies in front of the camera. This was all live on tv checking peoples pulses, shouting at the camera about what israel had done to the country. So as i said earlier, the Israeli Defence force has now released footage that it saysis now released footage that it says is of hamas operatives, which i believe we can play a clip of. Now were looking will not telling you this is the first time we see a missile like this falling and so thats why we are saying that it belongs to the Palestinian Islamic jihad. Palestinian islamic jihad. What they are saying that it belongs to Palestinian Islamic jihad and its from us. It looks like it. Who says this . They are saying shrapnel from the missile is local shrapnel and not like israeli shrapnel. And not like israeli shrapnel. What are you saying . What are you saying . What are you saying . Yeah. So that was obviously a translation of what was said there, which is a clip that the Israeli Defence forces have put out, which they claim proves that hamas , along with other that hamas, along with other video clips, by the way, which is of a barrage of missiles being fired from that area , one being fired from that area, one of which appears to fall way short and explode in the air. And some of it appears anyway, to drop down on a hospital again. Look, none of us are there, okay . None of us are actually on the at the actually on the ground at the moment. So heres a question of moment. So heres a question of who what you believe, isnt who and what you believe, isnt it . Secretary james it . But foreign secretary James Cleverly amongst those to cleverly is amongst those to have against jumping to have warned against jumping to conclusions bombing of conclusions over the bombing of the gaza. And the hospital in gaza. And earlier he tweeted the earlier today, he tweeted the following said night, following. He said last night, too many jumped to conclusions around the tragic loss of life at Al Ahli Hospital. Getting at Al Ahli Hospital. Getting this wrong would put even more lives at risk. Wait for the facts, report them clearly and accurately. Call heads must prevail. We also had the bbc come out and say israeli rocket hits hospital words to that effect. Anyway and then comma , effect. Anyway and then comma, according to palestinian Health Ministry, the problem with statements like that, i would argue, is that the palestinian Health Ministry is hamas that is there. So it is all hamas propaganda. You could, of propaganda. You could, of course, say exactly the same thing really about anything that comes out of israel. Fine. But there is a problem there nonetheless. And that initial nonetheless. And that initial statement, not just by the bbc, but by a load of different news corporations that jumped to conclusions rapidly about israel being responsible for a missile strike on a hospital that may have 500 civilians, have killed 500 civilians, including prompted including babies, prompted massive demonstrations across the middle east. People getting in their cars in turkey and driving to us bases there and consulates , etcetera, to consulates, etcetera, to embassies. You know, massively kicked off. And we are seeing it right now on the streets outside downing street. There is a pro palestine protest taking place. Well go to that a little bit later on. Were on the ground there. This supposed Israeli Attack on a hospital is being cited as a source of great rage for israel. Coming out and saying heres some, as they say, evidence that it wasnt us. Joining me now is gb news is senior political commentator nigel nelson. Nigel, thank you very, lot of very, very much. A lot of people, a lot of people jumped to conclusions straight off the bat about this. Are people more bat about this. Are people more inclined , do you think, to inclined, do you think, to believe hamas than they are the Israeli Defence forces as far as im aware, by the way, its a bit of context. The bbc tweet is still up saying that an israeli rocket has hit a hospital. This is quite dangerous, isnt it . Well, mean they do qualify it by saying, according to two palestinian sources. So there is palestinian sources. So there is a qualification there. But youre right. And so is James Cleverly. What we shouldnt do is jump to conclusions. The problem about this particular one is when you hear that a hospital is hit, your Immediate Reaction given what given the israeli air strikes is that its an israeli airstrike gone wrong. Now, clearly , the evidence is now, clearly, the evidence is not in either way that looking at looking at well , youve got at looking at well, youve got the pictures up there now. I mean, looking at the ground, it could as easily be an israeli missile as it could be a palestine rocket gone wrong. So palestine rocket gone wrong. So the answer is we dont know the answers. And yes, there should be calm. It is unfortunate that be calm. It is unfortunate that because of this, the meeting that President Biden was due to have in jordan has been called off. That is not helpful. Well, so the important thing is this is a war going on. Truth will be hard to come by, but everyone must try and remain calm until the evidence is there for what is actually happening. Is actually happening. Do you think its fair to say, though, that whatever your political leaning is so somebody who is maybe, you know, on the right is perhaps more inclined to just believe anything israel says and then maybe people who are perhaps more left leaning are perhaps more left leaning are more inclined to just believe anything that palestinian officials, which, by the way, are just hamas. I want to emphasise that again , when to emphasise that again, when the bbc qualifies something by saying Palestinian Health saying that Palestinian Health authorities this , you authorities have said this, you should argue or could argue , should argue or could argue, nigel, maybe they should be saying hamas are saying this. Well mean hamas is the government in gaza. Government in gaza. So in the same way that Benjamin Netanyahu , who is the Benjamin Netanyahu, who is the Prime Minister of israel, that if you are quoting those people , if you are quoting those people, you are quoting those countries. So i dont think theres a problem by saying it is the Health Ministry in gaza that is hamas. Youre absolutely right. But then hamas is in control there. Yeah yeah, no, fair enough. Yeah, no, fair enough. Absolutely. I do understand that. But i think that going fonnard, we are to going be confronted by a lot more of these situations, arent we . I mean , i did see actually mean, i did see actually complete chance would have it happenin complete chance would have it happen in real time last night, like i was saying. And you know, if there is a Ground Invasion that comes in the coming days or week or so, we are going to be confronted by a huge volume of footage like this. We know that hamas do not mind firing weapons out of hospitals and schools and places where there are civilians. We know that in the past israel responded directly to israel has responded directly to that by actually hitting those places regardless of what happened were happened last night. So were going up seeing lot of going to end up seeing a lot of this. Concern is its going this. My concern is its going to end up spilling out on the streets britain were streets of britain and were going seeing hatred, going to end up seeing hatred, i suppose the argument would be maybe time and just maybe take your time and just wait a more comprehensive wait for a more comprehensive assessment, better assessment, for want of a better phrase, once the dust is settled in a few after that in a few hours after that initial breaking line. Initial breaking news line. Mean, if people were well, i mean, if people were behaved like that, that would be the the important behaved like that, that would be the is the important behaved like that, that would be the is to the important behaved like that, that would be the is to actuallynportant behaved like that, that would be the is to actually understand thing is to actually understand what is going and the what is going on and the difficulty that because its difficulty is that because its a its very confusing, used difficulty is that because its a i its very confusing, used difficulty is that because its a i it believe onfusing, used difficulty is that because its a i it believe israel, g, used difficulty is that because its a i it believe israel, they ed and i do believe israel, they wouldnt target wouldnt deliberately target a hospital. However, mistake hospital. However, mistake mistakes can get made. Yes, youre right. I mean, in a rational world, wed all actually sit back and try and assess the evidence for ourselves and not jump to conclusions. But youre now nearly 24 hours on from what happened yesterday , and we still happened yesterday, and we still dont have the have the answers to what happened. President to what happened. President biden says hes got independent evidence from his own intelligence service. Is that intelligence service. Is that that it was a rocket gone wrong. That it was a rocket gone wrong. Therefore its the palestinians fault. But we therefore its the palestinians fault. But we dont therefore its the palestinians fault. But we dont know. Therefore its the palestinians fault. But we dont know. And in fact, as bbc verify is still putting out, that they dont know the answers to all these things and are still trying to find out, by the way, whether or not thats a slight oxymoron. But but yes bbc verify of course are busy working on it. So no doubt we will get the absolute complete end of the so no doubt we will get the absolfrom omplete end of the so no doubt we will get the absolfrom an jlete end of the so no doubt we will get the absolfrom an organisationthe so no doubt we will get the absolfrom an organisation that truth from an organisation that refuses a terror refuses to call hamas a terror group. You know, is group. But you know, that is that that not going to that is that im not going to drag down that road, nigel. Drag you down that road, nigel. But can i just thank you very much for coming on extremely short nigel nelson short notice. Nigel nelson there. Is senior there. Gb news is senior political is calm political commentator, is a calm chap extremely volatile political commentator, is a calm chap isnt remely volatile political commentator, is a calm chap isnt he . Ely volatile political commentator, is a calm chap isnt he . Nigel. Atile political commentator, is a calm chap isnt he . Nigel itile political commentator, is a calm chap isnt he . Nigel i must times, isnt he . Nigel i must say, i always necessarily say, i dont always necessarily agree what to say, agree with what he has to say, but quite a soothing tone, but hes quite a soothing tone, which think quite fortunate which i think is quite fortunate at this. But on that at times like this. But on that note, theres a stark warning from the head of m15 this evening he says that evening because he says that hamass atrocities israel hamass atrocities in israel have terror have made an islamist terror attack uk even more attack in the uk even more likely. Will also know likely. We will also know unrelated, also be unrelated, but well also be going live demonstration going to a live demonstration outside street, which is outside downing street, which is of palestinians. And of pro palestinians. And remarkably , the socialist remarkably, the socialist Workers Party well. Teaming Workers Party as well. Teaming up Patrick Christys up whodathunkit Patrick Christys gb news, britains news channel peoples. Channel welcome back. 5 47. You youre watching or listening to Patrick Christys me on gb news. Now another day, another protest in london. Pro palestine activists are currently holding activists are currently holding a demonstration outside downing street. A lot of us saw what happened over the weekend and thought, okay, that was a little bit fruity. Lets cross now to Central London and speak to our National Reporter theatre. Com to see what the latest is that, theo . Yes. Thank you very much. Doing for us in this doing stellar job for us in this torrential , it must be torrential rain, it must be said. Whats going there . Yes said. Whats going on there . Yes yes. Yes. Since the last time we spoke, even more people have arrived , even more people have arrived, many of them pro palestinian groups highlighting particularly that blast that was seen at Al Ahli Hospital yesterday. If Al Ahli Hospital yesterday. If you could just look over to my right, there are several hundred people here now and theyll be here into the evening. And many here into the evening. And many of them saying that lives are being lost, civilians are being caught up what has been caught up in what has been happening in israel and in gaza. But we did hear from the Prime Minister earlier who said israel has a right to defend itself and said hamas alone is responsible for the conflict that is going on. But for those who are here, here in london this evening, they want their voices to be heard, particularly for those who have lost their lives , who have lost their lives, family members and more. But of course, its a very complex situation here, not just in london, but of course, in israel and in gaza, as the conflict goes on. We know those diplomatic movements are happening. And of course, people here will be hoping that there is some resolution sooner rather than later. You what what kind of thing is it . Can you make out . Are they are they chanting . Whats kind of being said there . And i think i can hear someone talking as like like a rally. As well, like like a rally. I dont know. I dont know if you can see who that is or whats going on really. Yeah. So just over on my right shoulder. So theres people speeches you cant people doing speeches you cant see them at the moment as theres hundreds, literally hundreds people here. But hundreds of people here. But what we have hearing are what we have been hearing are chants saying free chants of people saying free palestine. Thats mostly what weve been hearing in the last hour or so when people started arriving. Okay. Look, theo, thank you very, very much. Theo chikomba. There is our National Reporter. Thatis there is our National Reporter. That is the protest on going demonstration ongoing outside of 10 downing street next to the women of World War Two statue there , which is odd there, which is odd juxtaposition, isnt it, when you see a lot of those flags being waved. But the head of m15 has warned that hamass attacks on israel have increased the chances of an islamist terror atrocity this country. Ken atrocity in this country. Ken mccallum was speaking after two swedish football fans shot swedish football fans were shot dead belgium monday. A man dead in belgium on monday. A man who himself as a who identified himself as a member islamic claimed member of Islamic State claimed responsibility gunman member of Islamic State claimed resp eventually gunman member of Islamic State claimed resp eventually killed gunman member of Islamic State claimed resp eventually killed byinman member of Islamic State claimed resp eventually killed by police. Was eventually killed by police. Yesterday, after spending hours riding around brussels dressed in fluorescent orange carrying a weapon on a moped. But there we go. Chns weapon on a moped. But there we go. Chris phillips joins me now, the former head of National Counter Terrorism Office. Thank you much. Great have you you very much. Great to have you on how much risk on the show. How much at risk should we be or are we now in britain as a result of whats going on . And is that likely to get worse, do you think, in the coming and weeks . Well coming days and weeks . Well i think likely to get worse. Think it is likely to get worse. Dont have be a rocket you dont have to be a rocket scientist, having seen the demonstrations the weekend demonstrations over the weekend and theres an and to realise that theres an awful people upset awful lot of people very upset about on israel about whats going on in israel and and a portion of those and gaza and a portion of those will extremists. Will be extremists. We some of those and we saw some of those extremists during the weekend. And of course we know that theres at 20 odd thousand theres at least 20 odd thousand people support isis and people that support isis and what stands for. And to be what it stands for. And to be quite hamas and isis are quite frank, hamas and isis are two sides of the same coin. So you can imagine that there are people that will be encouraged , people that will be encouraged, encouraged and encouraged themselves to go out and do ridiculous. Yeah. And look, again, i want to draw a clear distinction between people who your average person who waves the palestinian flag and then somebody who actually supports hamas or indeed, as you said, there , indeed, as you said, there, there basically two chiefs to there basically two chiefs to the same backside when it comes to hamas and isis, arent they . So do you think that theres a chance then that there is this. Well, more than a chance that there is a kind of almost trojan horse of people in the uk, whether born here or whether they were born here or have to uk, who could have moved to the uk, who could be at going in be looking at whats going on in the east. Britains overt the middle east. Britains overt support and could use support for israel and could use that on our that to wreak havoc on our street. Street. Yeah, we had a terrorist attack last week up in up the north where a man was stabbed. Weve had terrorist attacks in in france with the teacher being killed. And of course, we saw the terrorist attack in belgium. So the there will be belgium. So the there will be incidents. Head of belgium. So the there will be incidents. Head of m15 is hedging his bets a bit. The threat level hasnt gone up yet, which is quite surprising. But i think it probably will. Yeah, should we should we should we increase it and if it went up, what does that really mean . What does it actually mean . If the terror if we increase the Terror Threat . Well, increases the threat . Well, it increases the number of high visibility Police Officers. Youll see if there are any more to bring out of the box. But i think the important thing is the signal it should send to businesses and to society be that if the threat level goes up, you need to be doing more and you need to be more alert and you need to be more alert and more willing to report suspicious behaviour, etcetera. You know, this this whole shebang in in gaza is going to be going on for months and years, probably ahead. And weve years, probably ahead. And weve just got to be aware that there are people , as you say, some are people, as you say, some that are already inside the country that live here and others that have come in recently. And theyre a real threat to society and they dont want to see an ordered society and are likely to do something ridiculous. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And if people believe that they are serving a higher power, then theyre less inclined to ever want to ingratiate with our norms and values and therefore more out and more inclined to go out and commit kind of atrocity. So commit some kind of atrocity. So just you think that just to clarify, you think that we have severe we should now have the severe Terror Threat. Right. And we and we dont. I do find that quite concerning. Maybe that were looking at whats going on and people with eyes in their head can see that there is a problem and were not doing everything we can maybe address that. We can maybe to address that. I mean, im not yeah, well, i mean, im not sure i would that i think it sure i would say that i think it should go up. I think i think the jtwc, the team look at the jtwc, the team that look at this, mean, theres a whole this, i mean, theres a whole group of people based in m15 that this day night that work on this day and night looking the threat looking at all the threat picture, all people picture, all the people that they are terrorists within they know are terrorists within they know are terrorists within the uk because somethings happened it doesnt happened overseas, it doesnt necessarily its going to necessarily mean its going to happen here, but it i think anyone with any common sense would think its bubbling. I just, you know , i, i cant i just, you know, i, i cant help but feel like its bubbling. Around had help but feel like its buiattack around had help but feel like its buiattack in around had help but feel like its buiattack in france. Around had help but feel like its buiattack in france. Ityund had help but feel like its buiattack in france. It went had help but feel like its buiattack in france. It went it had an attack in france. It went it was very, very quiet slash borderline hushed up. Actually, what happened in this country a couple of days ago, i mean, that was swept under the rug big time. And i wonder why. Weve had bomb threats at french airports today. Weve had synagogues in berlin. Airports today. Weve had synag hads in berlin. Airports today. Weve had synag had numerous in berlin. Airports today. Weve had synag had numerous differentlin. Weve had numerous different issues here. And it doesnt take a genius to work out that there is now a massive potential for escalation. And we havent had escalation. And we havent had a Ground Invasion yet. We have not Ground Invasion yet. We have not had a Ground Invasion yet. Look, chris, you much. Chris, thank you very much. No doubt be talking to you doubt well be talking to you again coming days. Chris again in the coming days. Its Aidan Mcgivern here from the met office with the gb news forecast storm. Over the gb news forecast storm. Over the next few days will bring exceptional amounts of rainfall. Thats why theres been a red warning issued eastern scotland and highest risk area for widespread and severe flooding by the time we get to friday. Initially, babette is moving up from the south. Its brought plenty of rain to wales and to the south of england through the day that then moves into the midlands, Northern England and northern the end of northern ireland. By the end of the with 30 to 50mm, the night with 30 to 50mm, perhaps a little more in some parts of northern ireland. But by dawn the rain is approaching southern scotland , the far north southern scotland, the far north of scotland, staying drier of scotland, staying dry, drier interludes as interludes further south as well. All areas subject to a well. But all areas subject to a strengthening wind, a lot of cloud and therefore a relatively mild start. But it is going to be an unsettled start. Wet and windy for many places. Now thats likely to result by the end of friday in 2 to 250mm of rain, building up in some parts of angus and aberdeenshire. Of angus and aberdeenshire. Thats an exceptional amount of rain. Even for this part of the world. Thats why there is that very and very significant very real and very significant risk of flooding , further wet risk of flooding, further wet and windy weather into the weekend minster, apparently now this is to be blamed for so many of the incidents when it comes to misconduct. Again a simple question should we just now get rid of the bars in parliament . Yes or no . I also want to talk yes or no . I also want to talk to you about illegal migration and uncontrolled immigration as well. Has it gotten to the point well. Has it gotten to the point now that all of this is literally putting the safety of citizens in danger . Some would citizens in danger . Some would say weve been at that point for quite a while, quite frankly. Also as well, there has been outrage after a 14 year old boy
