Oh, you wont want to miss it. So lots to get through, but we start with my big opinion. Thoughts and big opinion. Thoughts and prayers for those whose full time job is to talk the country down. The uk economy has performed better than france and germany since the pandemic, according to revised data released data. Dont these people get anything right . Statistician jones now believe that the british economy is 1. 8 larger than before covid struck. This according to the office for national statistics. This France National statistics. This france is believed to have grown by just 1. 7 since covid and germany , 0. 2 wait. So our germany, 0. 2 wait. So our economy has grown more than france and germany and we had brexit. But i thought brexit was really bad and we were the sick man of europe, germany and the eurozone are now in recession. Im so confused. What is going im so confused. What is going on . Well, as usual, hard data, reality and the facts have this annoying habit of contradicting the prescribed political narrative, which is that leaving the European Union has been a catastrophe and we should get back in as soon as possible. Well, although lets not forget, there are a few arguments in favour of remain. Favour of remain. If the other countries seem to have recovered a lot better from it than we have germany is in recession, though, and were not. So how is that true . So how is that true . So how is that true . Im not an economist. Im not an economist. What else do you miss about the, urn. Oh no. The, urn. Oh no. Oh, no. I like the comedy gold on a friday night, day after day, week after week , after day, week after week, month after month. Month after month. Those who seize on any bad news for the country and who are now motivate for us to fail are being proved wrong. Time and time again. There are plenty of remainers like myself who accepted the result of brexit immediately and who are now happy to not just acknowledge the fact that britain is blossoming outside of the bloc, but are happy to celebrate it. If you look at the Economic Performance of the country , it performance of the country, it would appear i made a would appear that i made a terrible mistake. Voting remain and im almost inclined to apologise to everyone, but i think weve had a few too many apologies on the channel this week. We have the aukus defence deal with america and australia , a trade deal on the way with india and a market of a billion people. The city of london is planning reforms that could deliver a £200 billion boost to the economy. Were members of the economy. Were members of the economy. Were members of the cpp ipp, which i thought was a cough mixture but which is a trading bloc with some of the Fastest Growing economies in the world and which represents a bigger market eight than the whole of the eu. Were growing whole of the eu. Were growing more outside of the bloc than those Member States currently in it. Whisper it folks. Brexit is it. Whisper it folks. Brexit is working. Eu wouldnt believe it your reaction mark at gbnews. Com mark dolan tonight is the home of diverse opinions, so get your thoughts over to me whether you agree or disagree, ill get to your email shortly. But tonights top pundits gb news presenter albion ancona, a brand new star to mark dolan tonight former labour special adviser Paul Richards and author and journalist emma wolf. Well, there you go, paul. Welcome to there you go, paul. Welcome to the show. Hello. Thank you. Were going to have a roller coaster ride. Looking fonnard to your input this. Look your your input on this. Look the data doesnt lie. Brexits working. My question would be to anyone watching this and gb news viewers out there, do you feel better off than you did a few years ago . Do you feel more prosperous, more secure, feel . Is very irrational word, feel is very irrational word, isnt it . Im talking about the numbers here. Know what their gas people know what their gas bill they know how much it bill is. They know how much it takes a they takes to fill a car. They know that their have flatlined that their wages have flatlined. Mortgage. They know that their mortgage has. Has gone up. And thats happening in and thats only happening in britain. European britain. No other european countries, care countries, well, we dont care what the other. What happens in the other. Its about isnt it . Its only about us, isnt it . The point is, know, the whole point is, you know, i cant compare well being and cant compare my well being and income with some bloke in germany and think, oh, well, thats okay. I have to buy thats okay. Then i have to buy things this country. Have things in this country. I have to here. So the to pay for things here. So the numbers are youre arguing about less of some of less than 1 of some of some of these gdp. These gdp. It is marginal. It is marginal. It is marginal, but the point is people feel better off is people do not feel better off after they feel worse after brexit. They feel worse off. The reality. You off. And thats the reality. You talked about reality , but you talked about reality, but you cant have a sentence. Thats about how people feel. And reality. These are the and then reality. These are the numbers were if we left numbers we were told if we left the European Union, there would be the pound. The be a run on the pound. The economy crash and wed be economy would crash and wed be the of it the poor man of europe. It hasnt happened. Is hasnt happened. Germany is in recession. In recession. The eurozone is in recession. The eurozone is in recession. And look at that growth germany had. Is growth germany have had. What is it, 0. 0 or 0. 2 versus ours . Almost 2. This is the this is the narcissism of small differences, isnt it . Frankly . I mean , you isnt it . Frankly . I mean, you know, if you look at your gas bill, its an order of magnitude more the german economy. If more than the german economy. If you mortgage, are you look at your mortgage, are you look at your mortgage, are you that were you seriously saying that were better were two better off than we were two years somehow the years ago, that somehow the economy is growing . And if economy is growing . And even if it growing its not it is growing slightly, its not being distributed it is growing slightly, its not being whole uted it is growing slightly, its not being whole ute|is it through the whole uk, is it about to cancel hs2 . It would seem that sections of the seem that whole sections of the uk being cut off from any uk are being cut off from any potential growth. Paul right okay. Emma wolf is paul right to chips . To piss on the chips . I wouldnt use such language and i. I certainly wouldnt use such language. And i hate to disagree with paul, but i have to say youre absolutely right. This is exactly , exactly my this is exactly, exactly my reaction every time you quote me these growth statistics, gdp, economic data, people are not feeling it. They are not feeling it in their wallets, mark. They are not feeling it in their wage packets. They are not feeling it in their mortgage and rent costs. They are not feeling it on the supermarket shelves. Feel it more. Were in. If we were in. If we were in. Inflation is off the scale and i dont disagree with that. And is you know, it doesnt and this is you know, it doesnt matter. But they would feel it more in recession, more if we were in recession, which we are not. And germany are. And germany are. Would feel more if we they would feel it more if we were in recession. Therefore, its that are its okay that people are struggling were struggling and that were heading winter that the heading into winter and that the nhs its knees and this nhs is on its knees and this country falling that country is falling apart, that people struggling. People arent struggling. That these what im saying is that these statistics kill narrative statistics kill the narrative that has disaster for. I dont think brexit was a disaster , but i think way disaster, but i think the way that has the opportunities that it has the opportunities have mismanaged and have been mismanaged and mishandled wasted , not that mishandled and wasted, not that badly mismanaged. Our economy has grown more in the last two years than germany and france. Think paul and emma i think that paul and emma have made some reasonable points i what im actually more concerned about and interested in is how all of these forecasters, whether it was the ons, whether or not there was a lot of the economists ons, whether or not there was a lot of the economist s were saying the economy was going to be in recession or growth be in recession or the growth was be as high. And was not going to be as high. And all of those estimates were totally wrong. These totally wrong. It was these estimates to led liz estimates which to led liz trusss not working very trusss budget not working very well people saying well because people were saying that going to have that we werent going to have enough pay for tax enough money to pay for the tax cuts that wanted to cuts that she wanted to implement. Estimates implement. Its these estimates which our spending which all of our spending predictions so predictions are based upon. So why that forecasters , why is it that the forecasters, time after time underplay the growth of the british economy . Yes, people might not be feeling it in their pockets, but the simple fact of the matter is those what the those numbers are what the economic budgetary forecasts are made upon. So and if we were and if the forecasts were correct, then perhaps the government, the perhaps the government can make different spending so perhaps the government can make diffnnumbers1ding so perhaps the government can make diffnnumbers and] so perhaps the government can make diffnnumbers and the so perhaps the government can make diffnnumbers and the forecasts m atter. People know. But people dont know. But people dont know. I said. And thats not what i said. And what i said was what i said was, is that the numbers , the way is that the numbers, the way that they have been forecast has been wrong. And the been has been wrong. And the forecasts that are made decide that the spending commitments that the spending commitments that the spending commitments that the government can make. But liz truss and business that the government can make. But also russ and business that the government can make. But also business business that the government can make. But also Business Sentimentzss that the government can make. But also Business Sentiment as and also Business Sentiment as well, this junk well, which is why this junk modelling is damaging to our economy. Paul i just making the paul i was just making the point actually point that liz truss actually completely the office completely ignored the office for responsibility and for budget responsibility and its of the reasons her its one of the reasons her mini budget such disaster. Mini budget was such a disaster. But was the forecast so but it was also the forecast so wrong. But hadnt listened wrong. But she hadnt listened to the whole to the experts and the whole thing. Experts wrong. Thing. The experts were wrong. We have of we also have a bank of england totally unfit for england whose totally unfit for purpose. Raise purpose. Well, you raise a good point, abby. Purpose. Well, you raise a good poiitherby. Purpose. Well, you raise a good poiithe bottom line, paul, is the bottom line, paul, is that actually these revised figures suggest truss figures would suggest liz truss could probably have afforded those well i dont those tax cuts. Well i dont believe a word of that, because you numbers then you you saw the numbers and then you saw how the markets saw what the how the markets reacted that. Saw what the how the markets reacted it that. Saw what the how the markets reacted it was. Catasto and she and it was a catasto and she was out office. So i dont was out of office. So i dont think we should that one. Think we should relive that one. Do well, listen, am in well, listen, i am in agreement with my pundits on this, which is the economy is in trouble is. Trouble. Absolutely it is. Everyone is struggling. Absolutely. Except for the very lucky super rich. But at this economic good news contradicts the idea that brexit has been a disaster. Remainers are crying into their soup tonight and i have no sympathy. Coming up next have no sympathy. Coming up next in the newsmaker , will the in the newsmaker, will the establishment close down . Gb news. Ill be speaking to a top fleet street in easy for you to say. A top fleet street insider. Plus, tomorrows front pages as well. So much to get through. Ill see you. News radio. Stunning news on the economy. Stunning news on the economy. The british economy has grown faster than france and germany in the last two years. We are a powerhouse house and were outside of brexit. Whod have thunk it, right . We are not in the European Union. Well, the big response, of course. That was my big opinion. Lets have a look at what peter has to say. Peter hi, mark. Your panel peter says hi, mark. Your panel are inveterate knockers. Dont are inveterate knockers. Dont google that. By the way. You could you could be quite shocked if they wont accept data. How if they wont accept data. How would they govern if they were in power . Tarot cards , says in power . Tarot cards, says peter kate says youre right. The remoaners are still moaning. Weve had covid. Were conducting a war in ukraine. We had a year off with wages that had a year off with wages that had to be paid for. Were not struggling. Look at all the people going on holiday and you dont do that if youre broke. Do you get real . You ramonas britain is great and Getting Better every day. Kate thank you for that. Emailing in from the great city of leicester another peter says mark i dont agree with your guests saying that we dont feel better off. We are free of the draconian eu which is lovely. Plus peter adds, gb news must survive. Mark it is the best channel ever. Well, let me tell you that in just 40 minutes time at exactly 10 00 on the button, ill be making a statement about gb news. Okay, look, couple more emails. If dominic allows me , okay . Ray dominic allows me, okay . Ray says mark, people like those on your panel were quick to use data to show that we were failing outside the eu. Now the data shows how well we are doing and they say, never mind the data. These people need to cut the blatant hypocrisy and last but not least, how about this from. Cathy cathy, how are you . From. Cathy cathy, how are you . Cathy sent me three kisses, by the way. I feel very flattered on a friday night. Thank you, cathy. Hi, mark. Im of an age to remember going into the eec, and thats what it was. An economic union. It then grew into a monster ruled by unelected commissioners. This unelected commissioners. This country isnt doing too badly, considering all the chaos weve gone through. Europe is a basket case and will get worse , says case and will get worse, says cathy. Listen, if you want to speak up for European Union membership, do let me know. Mark membership, do let me know. Mark gb news dot com. Because this program is the home of diverse opinion. As you will have discovered from my excellent pundits. Now, youd have to be living under a rock to not nofice living under a rock to not notice that this channel has made a few headlines this week following deeply sexist, misogynistic remarks made by a guest on one of our prime time shows. A full investigation is shows. A full investigation is now undennay , but the uproar now undennay, but the uproar from rival commentators and broadcasters has been deafening, with former sky news presenter adam boulton among others, calling for the channel to be shut down. So will the establishment forces that would love to see the back of us prevail. Lets speak to one of the best connected journalists in the country, the editor of the express online, david maddox. Now were just getting the line to david there the line to david because there was there he is. Was a little oh, there he is. Hes made it. And david, its on you. Wed get you on air. You are, of course, of a tech are, of course, a bit of a tech guru because youre guru anyway, because youre brilliant. Online. Brilliant. Paper is online. David, your reaction to how figures like adam bolton and others have have been calling for the channel to be shut down . Whats whats going on . I think the adam bolton intervention was particularly sad when you see a senior journalist who frankly should know better. But clearly , you know better. But clearly, you know, he works for a rival tv station and he made that suggestion of shutting down gb news on another rival tv station on the bbc. He works for talktv and times radio, and he was sitting next to an mp who also is a pundit for talktv, who gets paid to do that. Is a pundit for talktv, who gets paid to do that. Caroline nokes paid to do that. Caroline nokes as we revealed on the expressly this morning and you know it seems to be, i would suggest there is at least a financial interest for them to have gb news out of the way. But of course, the real issue here and the real reason the bbc in particular going after you, is that they dont like alternative voices. They dont like people voices. They dont like people who , you know, as in your last who, you know, as in your last section, speak up for brexit. I mean, my goodness me, when we went through all those negotiations , the broadcasters negotiations, the broadcasters were as one with a kind of remoaners and it was just an outrage. It was one of the outrage. It was one of the reasons we needed news. Can you believe that . Were now sitting here. What is it . What . Seven years since that brexit referendum and the uk economy are growing faster than france and germany . Astonishing. How wrong they were. But you at the express and of course, you know a couple of other well notable outlets spoke up for the case for brexit. But here we are whisper it brexit is working well. We of course have express worthy originals. We were the worthy originals. We were the ones who backed it before it was fashionable. We were ones who got with nigel farage and the others persuaded them well and persuaded people to go for it because our readers were only too happy to back brexit. And of course, our readers who were all called racists and idiots by people like alan adam bolton and his friends , and Caroline Nokes his friends, and Caroline Nokes were, you know, have been proven right. The economy is growing very well comparatively to others. Yes, theres an economic downturn, but thats not brexit. Thats actually other things. I was just in fact, youll be able to read about this in the coming days. Ive just been sitting down with ambassador from an down with an ambassador from an african country where our trade has doubled in the last couple of years, thanks to brexit, where we now have an opportunity to get into the african continent and make huge gains. Uh, tonight weve seen that were well on course for Kemi Badenoch set a target of £1 trillion of exports by 2030. Well, we now know that were actually at 100 and £834 billion of exports from last year. So, you know, it looks like shes going to easily meet her target and go well beyond that. Its you know, its actually really a huge Success Story. But of huge Success Story. But of course, youll only read about that in the express or see it on gb news. Youre unlikely to see it on your rivals who want you shut down. Have you experienced cancel culture at the express . Cancel culture at the express . David is there snobbery from the sort of progressive liberals in north london about your paper . There always has been. And there always has been. And one of my previous jobs on the sunday express was when i when i was made Political Editor there, i was given the task of trying to get our paper actually on andrew marrs morning show on the bbc, which , uh, after, after the bbc, which, uh, after, after a while they decided they ought to take notice of us because we were, we were the voice of a brexiteers and actually carrying some quite important developments. But it was, you know, its tough going if you listen to well, i mean, dont do it as often as i used to. But if you listen to the today programme in the morning, youre not to the express not likely to hear the express quoted even though we carry stories which, you know, are reflect a large part of the population are very well read and you know youre more likely to get the guardian or the times of that very narrow subset of people or middle class, slightly left wing or very left wing. And thats and thats the issue. But you know, we fight on and we make our voice heard. And thats you know, thats why i really hope that gb news comes through this. I expect you will. Well, david, we appreciate your support. And ive got to tell you that the express online is a brilliant resource for the best political stories head there as and when you like , for, there as and when you like, for, of course, top showbiz news as well. David maddox will catch up soon. Editor of the daily soon. The editor of the daily express online. Thank you. Express online. Thank you. David. Your reaction, mark, at cbnnews. Com. Im coming up with cbnnews. Com. Im coming up with tonights top pundits. Will tonights top pundits. Will ending the war on motorists win rishi sunak the next election on as waiting lists grow for obese parents . Sorry. Oh dear. As parents . Sorry. Oh dear. As waiting lists grow for obese patients. Its been a long week. Are we letting down fat britain and are attractive people more trustworthy . Me plus people more trustworthy . Me plus weve been asking in an exclusive mark dolan tonight peoples poll asked Suella Braverman critics out of touch with the publics views on immigration. Well, the results are in, and i will reveal radio. Welcome back to mark dolan tonight at exactly 10 00 on the button, ill be making a statement about gb news. But earlier tonight, weve been asking you are Suella Bravermans critics out of touch with the publics views on immigration . Well, the results are in. The people have spoken. 74 say yes and 26 say no. So 74 say yes and 26 say no. So reacting to the big stories of the day, tonights top pundits, jb news star Albie Amankona , jb news star Albie Amankona, former labour special adviser Paul Richards and author and journalist emma wolf. Now rishi sunakis journalist emma wolf. Now rishi sunak is planning to Block Councils from introducing new 20 mile an hour zones as part of a plan for motoring. Its an plan for motoring. Its an announcement is expected at the conservative Party Conference, which starts this weekend. So will ending the war on motorists help rishi sunak at the next election . What do you think, emma well, im not a motorist, im a cyclist, so ive never really understood 20 mile an hour zones. Why cant they be flexible . Right . The other night in middle of night, i creeping of the night, i was creeping along in taxi cab in a hackney along in a taxi cab in a hackney cab at 20 miles an hour, and its costing you money by the minute. Complete empty road. Complete empty road. Complete empty road. Nothing coming, nothing going. And it made no sense at to all be 20 miles an hour. Why cant you for example, during, i dont know, school rush hour or busy times go down to 20 miles an hour, 20 miles an hour is very, very slow. I do understand very, very slow. I do understand why frustrated by why motorists get frustrated by this, but heres my idea. Why not invest loads and loads and loads of money, billions of poundsin loads of money, billions of pounds in really good infrastructure, really good transport, free buses, free trains is lovely cycle lanes everywhere. Why not actually everywhere. Why not actually invest money in good transport . Well , because there are votes well, because there are votes in supporting motoring votes, arent there . There are. Look whatever the rights and wrongs are of supporting motorists, im not im not a motorist either. Im a cyclist. Rishi sunak. I im not a motorist either. Im a cyclist. Rishi sunak. I think we should have a whip round. We should have a whip round. We should whip round for you should have a whip round for you too. Bikes, but too. Look, i love bikes, but people dont bikes. People like. How did you get here . Hoverboard. Definitely not a cyclist. Can i now . I just say that now . Well, let me tell you, yeah. Well, let me tell you, i drive around in a battered old toyota prius, so im going to big compliance. And big up ulez compliance. And it is just whisker. Is just about just by a whisker. An uber driver, youre not an uber driver, are in a prius . Are you, in a prius . Plan b, which well, thats my plan b, which is you get is certainly when you get suspended, sprung to suspended, suddenly sprung to mind few days. But mind the last few days. But listen, what do you what do you think this from think about this move from sunak . Hes doing sunak . Because hes hes doing this political this for naked political reasons. Its shrewd. Reasons. I think its shrewd. Shrewd. Look, i think its shrewd. Look, rishi needs to find voters rishi sunak needs to find voters at the next election because at the polls, its looking very bad. So the polls, its looking very bad. So hes looking for groups of when he of voters. Last week when he announced net zero policy, of voters. Last week when he an|was ced net zero policy, of voters. Last week when he an|was looking net zero policy, of voters. Last week when he an|was looking for zero policy, of voters. Last week when he an|was looking for people licy, of voters. Last week when he an|was looking for people who he was looking for people who were going to be impacted by by the heat pumps impacted by electric looking electric cars. Now, hes looking for people , same group of for people, same group of people, similar groups of people who going be impacted by who are going to be impacted by the an hour speed zone. The 20 mile an hour speed zone. So hes looking different so hes looking for different pockets voters, voters in pockets of voters, voters in certain the country. Certain parts of the country. Millions are not being millions of adults are not being referred nhs treatment that referred for nhs treatment that could them lose weight, could help them lose weight, such clubs and such as slimming clubs and weight only Weight Management programs. Only 3 to weight loss 3 were directed to Weight Loss Services between two thousand and seven and 2020. As waiting lists grow for obese patients. Are we letting down fat britain in albi . No fat britain. We are no fat britain. We are letting down themselves by being fat, being ovenneight is a choice for most people. Is it . Yes, it is. And it is very difficult with all of the processed food that we have at the moment. And i do actually think the government needs to do more in that area. Mark i want to see less money. I want to see less tory. I want to see less money spent on health care. And that to going happen and that is to going happen if people healthier. One of people are healthier. And one of the we can make the ways that we can make britain is make britain healthier is to make unhealthy harder and unhealthy living harder and healthy, living easier, and sin taxes are a part and you do it healthy, living easier, and sin tane are a part and you do it healthy, living easier, and sin tane fair. A part and you do it to be fair. You are come to you for a second. You do. You are rather qualified to comment this qualified to comment on this because own because youve been on your own amazing journey, amazing weight loss journey, havent you . Mean, it was a very yes. I mean, it was a very long time ago that i was ovenneight. You you us can you can you give us a sense of what you achieved . And so when in when i was so when i was in when i was a teenager, would looked teenager, you would have looked at thought, that is an at me and thought, that is an obese teenager. Right . Right . Beat in the last i can beat that. In the last yeanl i can beat that. In the last year, i have lost nine stone. Congratulations. Congratulations. That is five inches off the neck, ten inches off waist. See, i said you look good in lycra. Indeed and i would. But without operation do and no without any operation do and no weight loss you know drugs. Yeah. Yeah. Injections. Not even engaging injections. Not even engaging with the nhs at all just by doing all the things we know youre supposed to do. Cutting out carbs, taking more out the carbs, taking more steps. Joined a gym. Steps. I havent joined a gym. I havent got a personal trainer. You any . Havent got a personal trainer. You brilliant. Any . Havent got a personal trainer. You brilliant. Just ny . Havent got a personal trainer. You brilliant. Just straight brilliant. Just straight fonnard. So youve done it without medication and it probably cost you much probably hasnt cost you much either, all . Either, has it all . Ive saved a fortune, i ive saved a fortune, and i should. Takeaways friday should. Takeaways on friday night. But night. Yeah save a fortune. But the is, suppose , is that the point is, i suppose, is that actually everyone can actually not everyone can do that need the weight that. So you do need the weight loss clubs and you do need the bit advice from the bit of the advice from the National Service and the National Health service and the fact not doing fact that the nhs is not doing the preventative it the preventative work that it should be the many millions should be for the many millions of do that of people that do need that extra think is a extra little nudge i think is a great shame because its going to cost us far more the to cost us far more down the line, in personal line, notjust in personal health but in terms of the Nations Health and of Nations Health and the cost of the because everyone the nation, because not everyone can in a year. The nation, because not everyone canwell, in a year. The nation, because not everyone canwell, all in a year. The nation, because not everyone canwell, all i in a year. The nation, because not everyone canwell, all i can in a year. The nation, because not everyone canwell, all i can say a year. The nation, because not everyone canwell, all i can say is year. The nation, because not everyone canwell, all i can say is im. Well, all i can say is im looking fonnard to your weight loss cookbook, which will be well tom watson there well, tom moore watson got there first, didnt he . Didnt he just so did you the low so you did you you did the low carb you really start carb thing. Did you really start with whos old friend . And he persuaded me, this works. Know, i was a very 22 works. You know, i was a very 22 stone 50s. I stone fat man in his 50s. I couldnt have walked down those stairs. And he this works stairs. And he said, this works. Cut out the carbs, take more steps. You know, sugar is a carb , so cut that out as well. And just do it, you know, in a very sensible way. Dont do anything dramatic, but month by month by month, the weight came on. Well, yeah, i mean, let me i mean, ill put it on record that i cut the carbs and lost three stone. In about i cut the carbs and lost three stone months, in about i cut the carbs and lost three stone months, will in about i cut the carbs and lost three stone months, will say, about i cut the carbs and lost three stone months, will say, if out eight months, i will say, if youre going to change your lifestyle your consult lifestyle or your diet, consult your not an your doctor first. Im not an expert. Yes me too. No, absolutely. Got results absolutely. But you got results and results. Are and i got results. Briefly. Are you disappoint . Did that your Success Story is not resonating through the nhs and theyre talking about injections instead. I am a little bit, you know, because i think its an easy way out, isnt it . And also the injections are not even available all as it reminds available to all as it reminds me, a little bit of statins where of handed these where they sort of handed these out people out like sweets and people just carried behaviour. Carried on doing bad behaviour. You have some you do need to have some personal responsibility. You know, the will fall over know, the nhs will fall over unless more unless we take more responsibility own responsibility for our own health and theres more prevention system. We prevention within the system. We cant patching us up indefinitely. You this the indefinitely. Pandemic this the indefinitely. Pandemic and his the indefinitely. Pandemic and hi always real pandemic and it always was the real pandemic the last two, three decades. Is real crisis. Obesity is the real crisis. The is, you know, well, its the nhs is, you know, well, its costing nhs 6. 5 billion costing the nhs 6. 5 billion a yean costing the nhs 6. 5 billion a year. Why we not taking it year. Why are we not taking it seriously . I dont like mean, seriously . I dont like i mean, wow. Paul alby, both of you wow. Paul and alby, both of you have yourselves. And im have done it yourselves. And im not in. You know, i just think its amazing. And this is kind of where i come from, is that it is lifestyle. Is about is about lifestyle. It is about sustainable long term changes. I dont weight sustainable long term changes. I don drugs weight sustainable long term changes. I don drugs or weight sustainable long term changes. I don drugs or bariatric weight sustainable long term changes. I don drugs or bariatric surgeryt loss drugs or bariatric surgery are the answer long term because they dont encourage people to actually and eat and move actually live and eat and move and exercise differently. And exercise differently. Plus, this surgery costs the nhs of money. Nhs a lot of money. Costs a huge amount of it costs a huge amount of money it can be dangerous. Money and it can be dangerous. If a much, if you dont then follow a much, much, smaller, smaller diet much, much smaller, smaller diet. Dont understand is. But what i dont understand is when costing that when obesity is costing that much the second biggest much and is the second biggest preventable cancer , why preventable cause of cancer, why doctors and the nhs and the government are not taking it more seriously. This is the real pandemic and its, you know , the pandemic and its, you know, the reason that waiting lists for obese are growing obese patients are growing is because obese. Patients because were obese. Patients are growing. Food Companies Like these food Companies LikeTobacco Companies in the 20th century, are getting people hooked on and salt sugar hooked on sugar and salt sugar and the government is too scared to do anything because people say, youre infringing my say, oh, youre infringing on my civil no says civil liberties. No one says that tobacco. Do they . We that about tobacco. Do they . We need to do what we did with the Tobacco Industry to fast Tobacco Industry to the fast food this country. Food industry in this country. There you go. An inspired ive there you go. Tonight. Inspired ive there you go. Tonight. Listen 5d ive there you go. Tonight. Listen weve ive there you go. Tonight. Whether its the carry on films, west end musicals , sparring with west end musicals, sparring with morecambe and wise , bob morecambe and wise, bob monkhouse, french and saunders and many others , shes been and many others, shes been entertaining us for more decades than you will believe. Shes had than you will believe. Shes had an amazing Musical Theatre career as well, with a two year stint as grizabella in cats , to stint as grizabella in cats, to name but one memorable performance. She can dance. She performance. She can dance. She can sing , she can act, and she can sing, she can act, and she can sing, she can act, and she can definitely make you laugh. Anita harris. You made me laugh. You made me laugh. You made me laugh. Well, look, its lovely to have you. Lovely to thrilled to see you in the studio. Ive been watching you. My whole life and we were born entertainer. We were born entertainer. Oh, i was born. I was born in Midsomer Norton in somerset, where the cider apples grow. And where the cider apples grow. And my father was a loved music. And so everything in the home was music, music, music. But skating music, music, music. But skating really took me from the age of eight. I started ice skating and that really made me look into different styles of music because, you know, classical and jazz, but then, of course, Elvis Presley came along and i go back a couple of years , darling, so a couple of years, darling, so long before you were born, no one will believe your vintage. And were not even going to go there because you look so sensational. And by the way, busier ever. Panto in busier than ever. Panto in windsor, which were going to come to. And you know, thats going to be the christmas treat we and of course, also we all need. And of course, also the Important Message youve got about to the Important Message youve got abcof to the Important Message youve got abc of that. To the Important Message youve got abcof that. But to the Important Message youve got abcof that. But were to the Important Message youve got abcof that. But were you to all of that. But were you encouraged parents to encouraged by your parents to perform . I mean, obviously, you did the skating, so but was it was it pushy parents . Were they trying to get you to the top . No, not pushy. I had a wonderful upbringing. Ive got two big brothers who are still one to me. We one derful brothers to me. We lived we then went to bournemouth from from bath and bristol and all of that. Bournemouth from from bath and bristol and all of that. They bristol and all of that. They were her daddy was the one that loved the music and the movies and everything. Mummy was very down to earth, brass tacks , you down to earth, brass tacks, you know, sensible, lovely , lovely know, sensible, lovely, lovely sort of duo. So they just wanted sort of duo. So they just wanted the best for the three of us. And everything was equal. So when you grow up with that, i think it sustains you throughout your life. I mean, i think of them all the time. They are with me now. They love ed, the way that i went into singing and into dancing and everything, but they were just they just wanted wanted me to be be their daughter. You know . And i think that in a way , darling, thats that in a way, darling, thats something that the longer im on this planet, i realise how important it is and how wonderful it is to maintain friendships from those days. And, you know, just have all that love around us really. Well, definitely. As i mentioned in the introduction , mentioned in the introduction, action, you sing. Action, you dance, you sing. Youre a brilliant comic actress. As well. The music is a great passion of yours. And you had massive chart success. I mean, thats what really put you on the map. Well , i on the map. Well, i think if i, i mean, we condensed thing a few years but. The 60s was really was so but. The 60s was really was so innovative because coming through the war years, everything from the beatles, the stones to even i went to vegas when i was 16 on as a dancing girl in a chorus and i met and saw Frank Sinatra , and i was saw Frank Sinatra, and i was taken backstage. We were heavily chaperoned. I might add, but we were taken backstage. We did three shows a night, finished at 4 00 in the morning, and we had a night off every 12 nights. And then we could see the other artists. There was frank artists. There was Frank Sinatra, who we just saw quickly backstage , and he said he was backstage, and he said he was charming. He backstage, and he said he was charming. He said, backstage, and he said he was charming. He said, good luck, charming. He said, good luck, young ladies with your career , young ladies with your career, did he have presents . Was it did you feel like you were in the presence of greatness . We sat about you there and this is the auditorium. Um, the this is the auditorium. Um, the lights go up. The curtain goes up. The lights go up. The curtain goes up. The the orchestra starts and these blue eyes come right at you. Really . And, you know , that you. Really . And, you know, that again stays in your heart forever. If youve had that experience and you were 16. So it effectively we can sell it that you were on the same bill as Frank Sinatra for certain certain extent. Certain certain extent. I think he might have something to say about it. He said. Anita harris a bit smaller than the Frank Sinatra, but got bigger but your name got bigger and bigger youre the charts bigger and youre in the charts and of it. So many and all the rest of it. So many memories your career. The memories of your career. The carry stand out were carry on films stand out were they fun to make . Tastic , how i got it. Oh, fun tastic, how i got it. I was working at the prince of wales with frankie howerd. I was wales with frankie howerd. I was doing sketches with him. I was doing sketches with him. I was doing sketches with him. I was doing my song and dance routines. Were together and routines. We were together and then one night the producer of then one night the producer of the carry ons and the director came in to see Peter Rodgers. Peter rodgers and gerald thomas. Well done. Came Peter Rodgers and gerald thomas. Well done. Came in to Peter Rodgers and gerald thomas. Well done. Came in to talk to well done. Came in to talk to frankie about his next carry on. And they came in my dressing room and they said, would you like to be in a carry on . And thats how all started. And thats how it all started. And it was carry on, doctor. Yes, is possibly my favourite. Its a glorious film because frankie howards character, a terrible hypochondria. Terrible hypochondria. At one point he wakes up and he thinks theres an undertaker in there measuring up. Measuring up. Isnt it a wonderful scene . Isnt it a wonderful scene . And jim dale falling my first screen kiss, darling. Screen kiss, darling. Yes. Really . Yes. Really . Yes, of course. Yes, of course. Yes, of course. What a clever boy, though. And so, i mean, he went on to do so musical so much else but Musical Theatre, all rest of it. Theatre, all the rest of it. Yes, but i mean, it was an amazing yourself amazing cast. You know, yourself and , hattie and kenneth williams, hattie jakes, howerd , jim dale, jakes, frankie howerd, jim dale, barbara windsor. Barbara. Barbara windsor. Barbara. Barbara windsor. Barbara. Barbara windsor. Yeah. And and charles hawtrey. I mean, this was this is talent on another level, isnt it . Level, isnt it . It was like joining a repertory company. Remember i was only in my early 20s, so i was only in my early 20s, so i was a bit bamboozled by it all. But however, once i had proved myself, i did have to prove myself. I was it was like joining a family after that. And they were individually superb actors in whatever sphere they wanted to go. But as a group wanted to go. But as a group they made magic , didnt they . They made magic, didnt they . Thats right. I think the sid james character had a sort of scam going where he just basically hospital basically stayed in hospital and wouldnt leave because he was unhappily married. Unhappily married. Lovely man. What a lovely man. What a lovely man. Great line from theres a great line from your Love Interest jim your Love Interest in that. Jim dale crashes into a dale and he he crashes into a matron played by the rather stout hattie jakes. And she says, dr. Kilmore, this hospital isnt big enough for the two of us. And he said, oh, no, matron, youre not that perfect. Youre not that big. So perfect. Such comedy. Do you miss such naughty comedy. Do you miss naughty comedy . Do you think things have gone a bit pc now . Or your view about the or whats your view about the current sort of atmosphere where youve to be really careful youve got to be really careful what youve got to be really careful whiwell, two isnt it well, its two ways, isnt it . Going into pantomime, youve got your family audience and that was the carry on audience mum, grandad, children in every aunts, uncles. I i think one has aunts, uncles. I i think one has to be wary where comedy goes. But when you look at, oh golly , but when you look at, oh golly, when i worked with Bernard Braden and on that was spike milligan, Peter Sellers , harry milligan, Peter Sellers, Harry Secombe and i was with harry at the palladium for eight months to be with that astute humour. Yeah, but with such endearing qualities about them. Yeah and then being with dudley moore, i mean, so just lovely angel no, i dont mean to name dropping you because whats amazing about you is that you are a bit like bruce. Maybe youre just so good at lots of Different Things and turning your hand to comedy, even though you were so beautiful, you were also so funny and thats kind of a rare combination, really , and a great combination, really, and a great skill. Listen, clocks against us. First of all, the panto. When do you go into rehearsal for windsor . We open on the 24th of november 24th in windsor. The venue . Whats the venue . Whats the venue . It is the windsor theatre, royal windsor theatre. Royal beautiful, opposite castle. Beautiful. So november. Its beautiful. So november. Its beautiful. So november. Wonderful tickets. Yes. And everything i after a major anniversary , our 50th, our anniversary, our 50th, our golden. We had our golden. So golden. We had our golden. So how long was he afflicted with. With . Was it years . With . Was it years . 5 or 6 years . Six years . But i never lost him. And that i thank god for. And ive written a song called never lose hope and that was recording it on wednesday. Never lose hope. Whens it out . Whens it out . Lose hope or be blinded by the light. Never to lose love it helps the world unite right onwards. Can i have it to me onwards. Ill tell you what weve got, including announcement about including an announcement about gb at 10 00. Dont go gb news at 10 00. Dont go anywhere. Again. Anywhere. Hello again. Its Aidan Mcgivern here from the met office with the gb news forecast. A fine start for most of us this weekend. Cloud and rain turn up through central rain do turn up through central parts saturday afternoon, but parts by saturday afternoon, but sunshine through sunday, sunshine returns through sunday, so mixed conditions as best times for getting out and about early saturday or later sunday. Low pressure moving away from the north of scotland on friday nights. Still the north of scotland on friday nights. Still some the north of scotland on friday nights. Still some showers nights. Still some showers continuing during the hours of darkness, even the odd shower further south across west wales and northwest but for and northwest england. But for the majority , actually, the vast majority, actually, its skies and winds its clearing skies and winds easing. That will lead to easing. And that will lead to widely temperatures in the single figures, even low single figures for some sheltered northern parts as we begin saturday. So a cold start and therell be a few mist patches through central southern through central and southern parts wales for parts of england, mid wales for example. First thing theyll disappear then plenty of disappear and then plenty of sunshine many on saturday sunshine for many on saturday morning, especially for northern parts of scotland, the midlands, east anglia the south of east anglia and the south of england. Elsewhere weve got england. Elsewhere weve got cloud building, got rain cloud building, weve got rain pushing rain turning pushing in that rain turning heavy for heavy and persistent for northern ireland, southwest scotland, northwest england and north accompanied by a north wales, accompanied by a strong with gales. Strong wind with coastal gales. The rains still with us on sunday morning. Northern england, parts wales seeing england, parts of wales seeing those outbreaks of rain heavy. At first it does tend to push south eastwards weaken. By south eastwards and weaken. By the afternoon, sunny spells return elsewhere. A fresher feel for northwest scotland, but feeling warm in the sunshine away from here. And next week starts off with further rain and showers in places. Showers in places. Welcome back. In the 10 00 hour at exactly 10 00, i will be making an announcement about gb news. Plus in my take at 10 00 after the news, ill be dealing with gary lineker , who now has with gary lineker, who now has freedom to be political on social media thanks to lax bbc rules, ill be dealing with mr lineker, but dont forget that strap yourselves in. Its 10 00 on television, on radio and onune on television, on radio and online in the United Kingdom and across the world. This is mark dolan tonight. Daryl, can you kill the music, please . Before we as promised earlier, we start, as promised earlier, i have something to say have something i want to say about. Its unusual about this place. Its unusual for a news channel to be the news, but this week we are. And so be it. Following appalling sexist remarks by a guest on tuesday, which i dealt with in no Uncertain Terms in my big opinion on wednesday , which has opinion on wednesday, which has been viewed far and wide, there followed a sincere apology to the journalist involved and an investigation which is ongoing on last nights show , i drew on last nights show, i drew attention to the fact that rivals pillars of the establishment and media were calling for us to be shut down. Weve been ofcom regulated since day one and will assist fully in relation to any complaints made following broadcasting rules. Is of critical importance to the credibility of this place and any other broadcaster. Envious, any other broadcaster. Envious, competitive was calling for our head. A perturbed and threatened by our growing noise and numbers and they want us to be shut down. And the champagne guzzling liberal elites want to protect the status quo with one narrative on everything from net zero to the facts of human biology and the integrity of our territorial borders. I received territorial borders. I received a message from a well known and senior figure in british politics who replied to an invitation to be on the show tonight by saying that hed to love do it and apologised for being away at the moment as he was to join and was unable to join us. And heres he and i quote heres what he said. And i quote the establishment will go for you at every opportunity. I fear. Indeed, they will. Ive been targeted today for daring to make jokes and say hurty words about harry and meghan. How disgraceful to be satirically harsh about a couple that call themselves duke and duchess. Its good to know that princes and millionaire actress liz are now the latest protected class. So so are we done for . Is it so so are we done for . Is it game over, will the establishment see us off with ad boycotts authority , and demands boycotts authority, and demands to shut us down or stifling new regulations . As good luck with regulations . As good luck with that. Regulations . As good luck with that. Not on regulations . As good luck with that. Not on my regulations . As good luck with that. Not on my watch regulations . As good luck with that. Not on my watch. We are that. Not on my watch. We are two years old and weve only just begun in life. You dont just begun in life. You dont achieve anything without making achieve anything without making a few enemies and you dont achieve change without ruffling achieve change without ruffling a few feathers. In the end, we a few feathers. In the end, we have a duty to you to offer an alternative , to do it in alternative, to do it in a different and hopefully fresh and fun way, and to give you a voice. So let me be clear. We wont be shut down. And more important, we wont shut up shop. I important, we wont shut up shop. I certainly wont shut up. Its not in my nature. Have its not in my nature. Have i got news for you . Gb news is got news for you . Gb news is here to stay. Shall we do a show here to stay. Shall we do a show in my take at ten with a new set of rules giving their highest paid stars freedom to be political, the bbc have given up any pretence of being impartial. Shall the only winner is saint gary lineker. Thats right. Ill be dealing with gary lineker in a moment. Let me tell you, ill be speaking number be speaking to his number one fan in the newsmaker. Will the establishment close down gb news . Of course. Thats a topic news . Of course. Thats a topic from my big opinion. But let me tell you that well debate it in the papers as well. Weve got tomorrows newspaper, front pages, reaction with our pages, live reaction with our pundits. Plus as are the liberal elites out of touch with the views of the Great British public, ill be asking a top politics professor who says they need a wake up call. So a packed show lots to get through. First, the news with Karen Armstrong. The news with Karen Armstrong. Very good evening to you. Its 10 04. Very good evening to you. Its10 04. Im very good evening to you. Its 10 04. Im Karen Armstrong in the newsroom. Well have another update in about an hours have another update in about an hours time. Now its back to. Hours time. Now its back to. Mark my thanks to Aaron Armstrong, whos back in an hours armstrong, whos back in an hours time. Welcome to mark dolan tonight. In my take at ten, with a new set rules their set of rules giving their highest paid stars to highest paid stars freedom to be political, have given up political, the bbc have given up any pretence of being impartial rule. The only winner is saint garry lineker. Plus tomorrows newspaper. Front pages and live reaction in the studio from my top pundits this evening, author and journalist emma wolfe. Gb news star Albie Amankona conor and brand new star on mark and a brand new star on mark dolan tonight. Were loving his work. Labour special work. Former labour special adviser Paul Richards. Theyll adviser Paul Richards. Theyll be nominating their headline heroes and back page zeroes of the day as well. Plus im looking fonnard to this. Are the liberal elites out of touch with the views of ordinary british people when it comes to immigration and Suella Braverman . Ill be asking a top politics professor who says they need a wake up call. So a packed hour and those papers are coming at 1030. But first, my take. At at 1030. But first, my take. At ten in a classic bbc fudge news presenters will no longer be allowed to go on social media and express their political views. But stars like eco warrior Chris Packham and fried potato salesman gary lineker will be allowed to say what they think about politics. They just cant campaign. How does that work . Any tweet in favour of work . Any tweet in favour of this political cause or another is by definition, part of a campaign. If you endlessly tweet about how terrible brexit is , about how terrible brexit is, youre campaigning, arent you , youre campaigning, arent you, to express any view on politics is to be politically active. And is to be politically active. And now if gary lineker or Chris Packham worked for a private company like this one, for example , for a couple of example, for a couple of vacancies at the moment, then they could be as political as they could be as political as they like. Knock yourself out over here. Were paid to have an opinion, but im sorry if like lineker, youre paid over £1 million funded by an obligatory tax on the british people. Then you must be politically neutral. Well, its a great privilege to be paid that amount of money to be paid that amount of money to talk about football. But if you work for the state broadcaster and therefore are effectively a public servant, its deeply wrong to take sides on important issues of the day and to so for political division, the bbcs job is to bnng division, the bbcs job is to bring the nation together half of the country voted for brexit of the country voted for brexit of which lineker is not a fan. So every time he presents match of the day, is he basically labelling 17. 4 Million People all economically illiterate thickos or half of the people who watch match of the day dreadful human beings for wanting our borders to be policed correctly and knowing the difference between a biological man and a woman . Does that make you a bad person or celebrating rather than apologising for our history . Do you see the problem is now millions of people have to pay almost £160 a year whilst holier than thou, lineker signals his virtue and tweets about major issues facing the country. Insulated from the real world consequences of his luxury beliefs. Working for the bbc is beliefs. Working for the bbc is a privilege , and without a privilege, and without commercial pressures, you dont have to worry about advertisers or ratings. The income is guaranteed with grannies facing imprisonment. If they dont cough up major bbc stars are effectively civil servants, so they must remain politically neutral. Big name faces of the network jumping on twitter to express their views by definition divides the audience of the national broadcaster. Of the national broadcaster. Well, here at gb news, we have to sing for our supper and generate our own income and fight for every single viewer. Fight for every single viewer. But we are allowed an opinion and mine is this stinks. But we are allowed an opinion and mine is this stinks. Whats and mine is this stinks. Whats your view, mark, at gb news. Com, the bbc would argue that they have tried to strike the right balance. They dont want to stifle free speech. At the same time, they want to make sure their news operation is perceived as 100 in impartial, perhaps the bbc have taken the view that you cant really police the tweets and tell people like gary lineker what to say and what not to say. Many would argue that my take at ten is contradictory and its against free speech. So what do you think . Let me know. Mark at gbnews. Com. Lets get the views gb news. Com. Lets get the views of tonight. Of my top pundits tonight. Author journalist emma wolf author and journalist emma wolf gb star Albie Amankona and gb news star Albie Amankona and former labour special adviser Paul Richards. Paul, your Paul Richards. Paul, whats your appraisal of this compromise by the beeb . I think the bbc has got this about right. Think you can shut i dont think you can shut down free speech i dont down free speech and i dont think lineker think somebody like gary lineker should fired for his should be sent fired for his views if he wants to express them on social media. Think them on social media. I think tim done a good job. Tim davie has done a good job. What do you think of what gary lineker tweets . Do you not feel the bbc sport feel that the face of bbc sport or certainly bbc football shouldnt be sending out tweets with which half the country disagrees . Well, are you seriously suggesting he should be censored . I thought this was all about free speech, and i think hes a citizen. Well and he has a civil servant. Hes a public servant, isnt its not a civil servant. Hes a broadcaster. But on a national platform. But not a state broadcaster. The bbc is not the state. You know, like i say, we are not in north korea and is a person he and he is a free person and he can talk issues that he can talk about issues that he cares and thats good. Cares about and thats good. I may agree with him, may not agree him, but i defend his agree with him, but i defend his right to say it. Okay. Abby, you okay. Abby, where do you stand censorship of bbc stars . So , first of all, i wouldnt so, first of all, i wouldnt call it censorship. The bbc is known for having to be impartial. That is why people respect bbc. What respect the bbc. Thats what people expect from the bbc. And i think that should be applied to news stars. And i think that to news stars. And i think that should also be applied to entertainment i also entertainment stars. But i also look at this in a different way. I also look at it in imitation is the best form of flattery. And we have bought opinion based news to wide audience in the news to a wide audience in the United Kingdom via linear television. And now the bbc is saying, well, were going to let some our biggest some of our biggest entertainment have entertainment stars have opinions. At it as opinions. So i look at it as a flattering , a flattering flattering, a flattering projection of what were doing on gb news, because theyre trying imitate were trying to imitate what were doing hopefully they wont doing and hopefully they wont doing and hopefully they wont do as well as us. Ill be. Do you think but ill be. Do you think gary lineker should be tweeting about, i dont know, borders policy, brexit, water nationalisation . No as the face of bbc football . Of bbc football . No, i dont. No, i dont. As i said, why not . I think impartiality is why people respect the bbc. Why does that matter . That should why does it matter . That should why does it matter if hes only a sports host . Its about consists ac mark. Its about the brand that the themselves the bbc have built themselves and around ad and that is around ad consistency, impartial charity. And it is about being a broadcaster that which represents people from across the country. And if youve got one of the biggest bbc stars tweeting things that half the country with, that goes country disagree with, that goes against role as our national against its role as our national pubuc against its role as our National Public service broadcaster. Now, emma, we get you here tonight because you are fantastic in terms of fonnarding your opinions. Do you think its your opinions. Do you think its appropriate the of appropriate that the likes of gary lineker just Gary Gary Lineker and not just gary lineker by the way, fiona bruce, Chris Packham others have Chris Packham and others have a right to do the same . Right to do the same . Of course they have a right to do the same, but i dont understand lineker thinks understand why lineker thinks anyone he thinks anyone cares what he thinks about or brexit or about immigration or brexit or border or anything like border policy or anything like that. Hes paid a grossly inflated salary and i think he should. I think he needs to, you know, get on with his job, which is the reason hes paid that salary is to be a sports presenter. Licence fee is presenter. The licence fee is going on. His grossly inflated salary and is that not is that not enough for him to just, you know, keep schtum and do his job . So do you think the rules should be stricter . Should be stricter . Do you think this is too lax, this this compromise from the director general . I its weird i think its a weird compromise. If compromise. And, you know, if the bbc want to keep pretending that they impartial, the bbc want to keep pretending that they impartial , then that they are impartial, then they people like they need to stop people like gary lineker wildly partisan. Okay. But arent you a free okay. But arent you a free speech advocate . I mean, doesnt this guy deserve to say what he thinks . I mean, hes not a newsreader. Yeah, yeah, of course. Of course. Im an advocate for free speech, but in terms of his platform at the bbc, i think that he needs to just do his job and talk about sport. Thats what paid do. Yeah. What hes paid to do. Yeah. Well, yes. I mean, the bottom line , i mean, the bottom line, Albie Amankona, is that gary lineker countrys best lineker is the countrys best paid civil servant. Look i dont know that i would describe him as a civil servant, but certainly his salary is being paid from people paying paid for from people paying their their television licences. And ultimately, as i said before, the bbc is our Public Service broadcaster and i think it is inappropriate for bbc stars, whether theyre new styles or entertainment styles or sports stars to be expressing opinions which could be at odds with half or even the majority of the british population. I think its sullies the bbcs record. Record. Paul, youre shaking your head well, whos going to police . This is the bbc going to have a should to have have a rule should going to have a investigating a thought. Police investigating all media, everyone a thought. Police investigating all works media, everyone a thought. Police investigating all works formedia, everyone a thought. Police investigating all works for the ia, everyone a thought. Police investigating all works for the bbc, eryone a thought. Police investigating all works for the bbc, hes1e a thought. Police investigating all works for the bbc, hes not who works for the bbc, hes not saying stuff while saying this stuff while presenting match of the day. Hes doing this on his own personal social media platforms. And seriously suggesting and are you seriously suggesting the those and the bbc should police those and then censor not live then censor it . We do not live in north korea, but they do it for the news presenters. Do you disagree with that . Do you disagree with that . Do you disagree with that . Think theres a big well, i think theres a big difference the difference between match of the day newsnight. Do you not day and newsnight. Do you not think some consistency . I mentioned, no. As i mentioned, no. As i mentioned, no. Its about news and the ofcom guidance around news guidance is around news production, isnt it . And thats why should to do why he should be allowed to do it. Like i say, tim it. And i think, like i say, tim davie has done a good job here. Its a difficult one, hes its a difficult one, but hes given latitude allow given enough latitude to allow citizens their views in citizens to speak their views in pubuc citizens to speak their views in public without closing them down like authoritarian state, like an authoritarian state, lineker be unable to lineker seems to be unable to keep his head below the parapet. He seems to be obsessed with thinking that cares thinking that everybody cares what from his leafy what he thinks from his leafy west london, know, not at west london, you know, not at all affected by any the all affected by any of the issues facing. Issues that people are facing. And yet here we are talking about it. Some people obviously do so some people obviously do care about what says. Care about what he says. Think gary wants to do i think if gary wants to do opinion, move to opinion, he should move to a broadcaster which is known for opinion. Andrew moved opinion. Andrew marr moved to lbc. Exactly. Other people have moved channel. I think moved to this channel. I think that broadcasters should that is what broadcasters should be to be be doing if they want to be expressing opinion, theyre expressing opinion, if theyre going to make a choice to work at bbc, should embody at the bbc, they should embody the impartiality. The principle of impartiality. That they are paid the fact that they are paid by indirectly or by the licence fee indirectly or directly, and that Something Like brexit for example, over 50 voted for that. Gary lineker doesnt seem to respect that at all. He seems to show contempt actually for over half of the population. Population. Oh, there you go. Does gary lineker have the right to tweet about political issues . Let me know thoughts. Mark know your thoughts. Mark gbnews. Com. Only gary, as gbnews. Com. Not only gary, as i say, could be fiona bruce. It could be zoe ball. Any of their could be zoe ball. Any of their big stars. It okay for them big stars. Is it okay for them to get political online . Mark gbnews. Com coming up in the big story following outrage after her bold speech in america asked Suella Braverman critics out of touch with publics on touch with the publics views on immigration. Ill be speaking to the top politics professor who says the liberal elites need a reality check. Plus, tomorrows front pages instant front pages with instant reaction tonights top reaction from tonights top pundits. All of that youre listening to gb news radio. Radio. Just time for this market. Gb news dot com. Alan says, i cannot stand the overpaid character that is gary lineker. However, hes entitled to free speech. I however, hes entitled to free speech. I just dont listen to him. Wise words. Thank you , him. Wise words. Thank you, alan. I hope you listen to me. Its time now for the big story and Suella Braverman sparked outrage in some circles this week with a speech in which she said multiculturalism had said that multiculturalism had failed. Criticised the failed. She criticised the absence racial integration absence of racial integration in some our cities and the some of our cities and the growth parallel lives in our growth of parallel lives in our communities. Speaking in washington, she said that its neither racist nor anti refugee to want to reform the European Convention on human rights. She argued western culture could disappear without harder borders. And she argued that fear of discrimination, including for gay people, should no longer be grounds for granting asylum under international rules. So is outrage. Following her speech understandable, or does she speak for millions of concerned voters . Lets catch up with voters . Lets catch up with a top politics professor and bestselling author who has written this values , voice and written this values, voice and virtue. Its the book thats got the country talking. Professor matthew goodwin. Matthew, welcome to the show. If you watch most Television Networks and read most newspapers, youd assume that everyone is horrified by Suella Braverman speech. However i horrified by Suella Braverman speech. Howeveri understand speech. However i understand that polling that youve looked at tells a different story. At tells a different story. Yes, it does , mark. Yes, it does, mark. Yes, it does, mark. I mean, i think the first thing to say is what Suella Braverman really said was not actually that controversial at all. Angela merkel and David Cameron , we might remember, also cameron, we might remember, also said multicol federalism has failed. Theresa may called to failed. Theresa may called to leave the European Convention on human rights not that long ago. And so i think the reaction to the speech actually shows us, mark, how far to the left, the cultural left, many of the people who dominate the institutions , you know, the institutions, you know, the media, the Creative Industries , media, the Creative Industries, the cultural institutions have moved over the last decade now , moved over the last decade now, look, on the polling, as i said on twitter today , if you look at on twitter today, if you look at all of the recent polling on immigration, on rwanda, on the echr, on people thinking that the borders are out of control , the borders are out of control, you know, typically between a half and two thirds of all voters would basically agree with Suella Braverman. They with Suella Braverman. They would say that the borders are out of control. So immigration has been too high. We need to do something in to order better control whos coming in and leaving the country. So i dont leaving the country. So i dont actually think what she said was so adrift from public opinion. I think actually that the new elite who dominate the institutions are adrift from much of the rest of the country i yes. And public anger. Matthew about Mass Immigration is not limited to this country, is not limited to this country, is it . It seems to be a crisis of the west. Well absolutely. I think if you look at whats happening in italy and much of europe at the moment, weve clearly got global migration clearly got a global migration crisis that is accelerating , crisis that is accelerating, seeing as each day passes. The last weve had 11,000 people arrive in lampedusa in just a few days. There are about 300,000 people have arrived illegally in europe over the last year. And there is no political consensus in brussels, strasbourg , rome, berlin about strasbourg, rome, berlin about how the eu Member States actually want to deal with this issue. So i think what Suella Braverman is saying and look, mark, i know Suella Braverman reasonably well, you weve reasonably well, you know, weve spent time together. Weve weve talked about these issues. Weve discussed the future of the country. And i think what she is really adamant about is getting ahead of this very mediocre, very unsatisfactory debate about immigration, because , you know, immigration, because, you know, if youre on the liberal left and you strongly disagree with Suella Braverman, thats fine , Suella Braverman, thats fine, but you have put fonnard your but you have to put fonnard your alternative now, your alternative. Now, whats your alternative. Now, whats your alternative to the illegal migration bill and the rwanda scheme . What is your alternative to that . Because we have 40 Million People in africa, in the middle east who say they would like move britain they like to move to britain if they could so tomorrow. So we need could do so tomorrow. So we need a viable immigration policy and we need a grown up, mature conversation about what our policy response is going to be. Because mark simply saying lets have more safe and legal routes with no upper limit , thats not with no upper limit, thats not a response. And simply calling Suella Braverman a far right agitator or a racist, you know, thatis agitator or a racist, you know, that is not a serious response. That is not a serious response. So my question to the liberal left your left would be, what is your policy response to this crisis . Because this is only the beginning, not the end, mark. This is just the beginning of a global migration crisis which is to going change our world in ways that we cannot really comprehend currently. Well, yes. And fair play to emmanuel macron, who said in a Television Interview earlier this week that we cannot accept the misery of the world. And i think that was on sort of him to say that briefly. Matthew if you can. Do you not think , though, can. Do you not think, though, that critics of braverman have a point that the language is inflammatory , that its dog inflammatory, that its dog whistle politics . She spoke a few months ago about an invasion. Does she cross the line . I think there are a few line . I think there are a few things that she probably could have rowed back on. I think some of the talk in her speech around a particular minority groups experiencing harassment, discrimination and so forth probably could have been left out. She could have kept this mark just to be about a debate around changing the refugee convention. But suella wants to start a debate in this country, and she wants to actually debate in the actually start a debate in the world were going to world about how were going to update the architecture of refugee. So its more in refugee policy. So its more in line with the reality of the world today. Do check out. Matthews do check out. Matthews excellent article , excellent substack article, which can be found at matthew j. Goodwin. Org or follow him. Goodwin. Org or follow him. Goodwin on twitter. The voice of common sense. Thank you, matthew. Okay folks, the papers are next with full pundit reaction. Dont go anywhere radio. Well, the bbc has softened its rules on its biggest stars, being politically on social media. So do the likes of gary lineker and fiona bruce have a right to get on twitter and tweet about politics . As long as theyre not campaigning , which theyre not campaigning, which is bbc policy, many people is the bbc policy, many people have been the beeb, have been praising the beeb, saying great solution saying what a great solution which in many ways pleases all parties. Well, youre not all parties. Well, youre not all pleased, ive got to say , ian pleased, ive got to say, ian says lineker needs to wind says gary lineker needs to wind his he seriously his neck in. Does he seriously think his privileged platform gives him the right to preach to the nation . And by the way, he the nation . And by the way, he says, in response to my says, ian, in response to my special statement about gb news at which will on at 10 00, which will be on twitter shortly, will twitter shortly, gb news will not shut down, says ian. Its not be shut down, says ian. Its the only balanced news on tv. Well, ian, thank you so much for that. I do have a wonderfully balanced panel tonight. Theyve balanced panel tonight. Theyve been at each others throats. Its its wwf. Its outrageous. Its like wwf. Weve got the papers coming. Let me just say from joanne , surely me just say from joanne, surely the likes of gary lineker should be to same rules be subject to the same rules that registered nurses that apply to registered nurses and in that we are not and teachers in that we are not allowed to publicly express our opinions politically or we put ourjobs opinions politically or we put our jobs at risk , like, opinions politically or we put ourjobs at risk , like, oh gosh our jobs at risk, like, oh gosh , hi, mark, says simon. If gary is happy to take the dirty money for covering the world cup, then he has no grounds to stand out against other political matters. Well, of course he was paid by the bbc, but you could argue an element of double standards in attending that event over in the middle east. Anyway, lots of papers to get through. Lets do it. It is 1030 papers to get through. Lets do it. It is 1030 or just papers to get through. Lets do it. It is 1030 or just gone. So it. It is 1030 or just gone. So time for the front pages. Its war. Welby over migration. Its war. Dacres drawn. Albie i think thats wrong. Albie i think thats wrong. You know the archbishop of canterbury is the most senior clergyman in the country. The home secretary is one of the most senior politicians in the country. They should be meeting each other when they request meeting meetings with each meeting with meetings with each other. He want dreary other. Does he want a dreary lecture, robed lecture, though, from this robed . I just think its i think its very. Think very very rude. I think its very unmannerly. I think its unmannerly. I dont think its very if the very british. I think if the home secretary, if the home secretary invited to meet secretary is invited to meet the archbishop, dare you call archbishop, how dare you call the secretary unmanly . They the home secretary unmanly . They should should take. Did you hear on manly as well . Absolutely, yes. Absolutely, yes. So. So. So you think actually this is a this is not really the best way to conduct i think conduct yourself. Well, hold on. On. Shes well, hold on. Hold on. Shes failed any meeting. Failed to agree yet any meeting. I dont think shes actually snubbed. Shes snubbed. I dont think shes actually slammed door in actually slammed the door in his face put her hand face or literally put her hand out and said, no, go away. I out and said, no, go away. I think she just hasnt responded. Well, this because well, perhaps this is because the said her plans to the plans he said her plans to deport migrants to rwanda were against the judgement of god. I against the judgement of god. I think he needs to remember here that he has a role and she has a role and theyre different. Right. And hes overly politicised doing his role and thatis politicised doing his role and that is problematic. That is problematic. Well, perhaps she wants to put the archbishop of canterbury paul put the archbishop of canterbury paul, in his place, given that shes he spoke in his pulpit. Right. So thats a good headline. So outspoken on very political issues which is beyond his pay grade. Well our constitution gives him a political voice because hes in the house of lords. Precisely. And hes not the only one. You get rid oflem to speak out thats a good thing and support th. You get rid of them speak out thats a good thing and support th. You get rid of them andlak out thats a good thing and support th. You get rid of them and maybe or you get rid of them and maybe even rid of the whole even get rid of the whole house of things stand, of lords. But as things stand, he a constitution role. He has got a constitution role. But what would he to but what would he say to his parishioners, his flock who support the rwanda plan . Sure, hed say same well, sure, hed say the same to them saying to the to them as hes saying to the government. Probably government. Well, he probably ungodly them ungodly wouldnt he call them sinners . Maybe have him in and ask should the archbishop sinners . Maybe have him in and as canterburyild the archbishop sinners . Maybe have him in and as canterbury bethe archbishop sinners . Maybe have him in and as canterbury be making bishop sinners . Maybe have him in and as canterbury be making theology of canterbury be making theology now . Are maybe should. Now . Are we maybe should. Im out of my depth. Not for the first time, know, should im out of my depth. Not for the firwading know, should im out of my depth. Not for the firwading those should im out of my depth. Not for the firwading those watersi im out of my depth. Not for the firwading those waters , he be wading into those waters, though . Well, historically, the Church England in parliament well, historically, the chuihad england in parliament well, historically, the chuihad thatjland in parliament well, historically, the chuihad that rolei in parliament well, historically, the chuihad that rolei in parliaup nt well, historically, the chuihad that rolei in parliaup on has had that role to speak up on social issues as they see it. I mean, you know, whether you support or not, thats up support that or not, thats up to you to decide. But they do have constitutional role and have a constitutional role and they to out. They are right to speak out. She hasnt responded well, be she hasnt responded to the invitation so far. Perhaps this is what my son would apparently would call, which apparently is cant arsed. Would call, which apparently is canyeah, arsed. Would call, which apparently is canyeah, arsedis the correct yeah, that is the correct explanation of that. Im down with the kids. Im down with the kids. Down with the gen z ers. Im in touch with young people, which by the way, is another story. And my lawyers are. So have a look are watching. So we have a look at the express and ill be, you know, red meat for lots of voters. We discussed it briefly earlier. Tories declare war on drivers is over. Rishi sunak she shifting to the right noticeably and going very populist will it will it work . I think it could work. But then you say shifting to the right and he wants to implement this state National Car Parking app this state National Car Parking app which to me sounds actually quite leftwing. So i think quite leftwing. So i think populist is probably right. It sounds very popular, but for me i was like, i dont think thats something the state should be getting. Yeah, what theyre doing is theyre actually nationalising parking. Well, exactly. Jeremy corbyn parking. Well, exactly. Jeremy cor im sure the government will im sure the government will be horrified to hear that. But the point i mentioned the point is, as i mentioned earlier fishing for earlier on, hes fishing for votes and i think he can probably get them with the motorist vote. Weve got the car so weve weve got the car friendly policies. Weve got the diluting of net zero. And i think theres more of this messaging to come. He struck quite an anti woke note in recent months as well, like the phrase diluting net zero. Hes aligning our net zero project with Continental Europe and california. You should be a spin doctor. Let me tell you, youre wasted in this studio. But many would argue, paul would argue this is desperate stuff from the Prime Minister. No no. It is about winning votes. And is what politicians do and this is what politicians do before elections in order to find coalitions , which is find voter coalitions, which is going to get them over the line at next election exactly going to get them over the line at keirit election exactly going to get them over the line at Keir Starmern exactly going to get them over the line at keir starmer is exactly going to get them over the line at keir starmer is doing. Ly going to get them over the line at keir starmer is doing. But what keir starmer is doing. But behind the scenes, hes not telling us what his policies are. Sunak are. At least rishi sunak is being but being honest about it. But sunaks Prime Minister sunaks the Prime Minister should running country should be running the country and problems, and fixing our problems, not trying together an trying to cobble together an electoral fix our Electoral Coalition to fix our problems. Are problems. And here you are complaining it. Complaining about it. Think, emma, what do you think, emma, about the ministers about the Prime Ministers damascene conversion to conserve autism . Its yeah, its a damascene conversion to being popular. He got a bit of a bounce in his step when he did his dilution of green alignment. Green climbed down. Um, well , no, it is green alignment. Green climbed down. Um, well, no, it is a climb down because hes saying im not going to take the steps we need to take. Like heat pumps and electric electric cars and all of that to get to net zero. But were still committed to taking the steps five years later, aligned with. And were not going to do were not going to do any of the steps that we need to take to get there. But we still get the economies. Why be economies. Why not just be honest . Because weve already economies. Why not just be honesso because weve already economies. Why not just be honesso because donte already economies. Why not just be hones so because dont need ady economies. Why not just be hones so because dont need tov come so far. We dont need to just with people. Just be honest with people. Dont have the we dont have the infrastructure. Why be infrastructure. Why not just be honest no, actually honest and say, no, im actually not zero. Not committed to net zero. Thats right. Look, hes committed to net zero. Your point infrastructure point about the infrastructure is right. The reason why is totally right. The reason why weve done this is because the electricity not up weve done this is because the el deality not up weve done this is because the el deal with not up weve done this is because the el deal with electrict up weve done this is because the el deal with electric cars. Jp to deal with electric cars. I think we do to be honest think we do need to be honest about that. And it wouldnt work to try and retrofit a of heat and retrofit a load of heat pumps victorian pumps into leaky victorian draughty the draughty houses across the country people dont want to country and people dont want to pay country and people dont want to pay for net zero. Theres a lot of to do with insulating of work to do with insulating our homes properly and getting set up for the future. We can do it. I think i think we can do it. I think rishi doing it in rishi sunak is doing it in a proportionate way. Rishi sunak is doing it in a pro paulnnate way. Rishi sunak is doing it in a pro paul sunakay. Rishi sunak is doing it in a pro paul sunak is. Rishi sunak is doing it in a pro paul sunak is certainly paul sunak is certainly biting at the ankles of keir starmer, isnt he , and narrowing starmer, isnt he, and narrowing the polls. Whats your response the polls. Whats your response to that . Well, ive always argued that the election is not a done the next election is not a done deal the next election is not a done deal. I dont think labour has sealed with the sealed the deal with the electorate lot of voters who electorate. A lot of voters who voted for conservative the last time may switch time may not switch automatically red is automatically. The red wall is not going tumble uniformly not going to tumble uniformly and knows this. So when and labour knows this. So when the comes the Conference Season comes around, the around, which were in, the middle of now, you know, theyve got set their stall out. Got to set their stall out. Labour has to compelling labour has to give a compelling vision wait the vision and not just wait for the government to fall because it wont. Conservatives, lets wont. The conservatives, lets not most not forget, are the most successful electoral force in western historically western europe. Historically and labour winning labour is quite bad at winning elections lets also so elections, lets also admit. So its not over till its over, you know . Yeah. Listen im on record as saying that there have been plenty of times in the 20th century bits the 21st century and bits of the 21st when Labour Governments have century and bits of the 21st when really r governments have century and bits of the 21st when really r govnand ients have century and bits of the 21st when really r govnand important done really good and important things but things for the country. But is there labour there any point having a Labour Government theres cash . Well, yes, because the government spends an enormous amount of money. You can spend it differently and you have different priorities within different priorities even within the got. The envelope that youve got. And reeves has made that and Rachel Reeves has made that point. Going to be point. There isnt going to be extra but ministers have extra cash. But ministers have to those departments to come in to those departments if win and get that if they win and get that opportunity and the money opportunity and spend the money more think, more wisely. Do you think, though, the labour though, that the labour grass roots disappointed when roots will be disappointed when keir gets is keir starmer gets in and is prudent . Keir starmer gets in and is prudent . Well, there are keir starmer gets in and is prudent . Well, there are going to be sections of the left who will cry betrayal, but theyre already doing that now. He hasnt even won yet , but that already doing that now. He hasnt even won yet, but that is their narrative. Starmer out often trending on twitter. Starmer out often trending on twi absolutely. People just think starmer out often trending on twifithelutely. People just think starmer out often trending on twi fithe worst. People just think starmer out often trending on twi fithe worst thing le just think starmer out often trending on twi fithe worst thing and jst think starmer out often trending on twi fithe worst thing and you hink hes the worst thing and you know those people are always there, thank there, but they are, thank heavens, a minority now. Can agree that. Well, we can agree on that. So, listen, to come. Weve so, listen, lots to come. Weve saved till last weve saved our best till last weve been conducting exclusive been conducting an exclusive mark peoples mark dolan tonight, peoples poll. Been asking will poll. Cant get the staff these days to tell you, right. Okay. Darrells marvellous. Weve known each other for a long time, and i know where the skeletons are hidden. Right. Lets because weve lets crack on. Because weve got so many other stories to get through our teeth through to sink our teeth into. And course the i have we got and of course the i have we got the i dominique , are we ready to the i dominique, are we ready to flash that one up . Yeah. Lets have a look at that. Lets just in hot the press courtesy in hot off the press Courtesy Courtesy ellen. Courtesy of lottie and ellen. Thank you to the team today for doing a great job clamped down on fines and 20 mile an on traffic fines and 20 mile an hour zones as tories gamble on the driver vote. But also sunak the driver vote. But also sunak and johnson face bombshell covid inquiry evidence. Brilliant stuff. Okay, well , there you go. Stuff. Okay, well, there you go. So many topics to get through, dominic. When you get a second fire up that good looking trustworthy thing because i think its a great topic. But before we get to that, lets have a look at a couple of other stories as if we can. Daily stories as if we can. The Daily Telegraph if than of telegraph if more than half of men now have facial hair and well, thats not exactly a burning topic of the day, is it . Im sure we can find im sure we can find better than that. I thought was really interesting. Think it was interesting. I think it was on the of the times. The front of the times. Thank you. Theres a picture. Thank you. Theres a picture. Theres a picture of daniel thank you. Theres a picture. Tiwho; a picture of daniel thank you. Theres a picture. Tiwho; a pict an of daniel thank you. Theres a picture. Tiwho; a pict an awardiiel craig who was at an Award Ceremony justice ceremony called the justice albie in new york and had albie awards in new york and had absolutely no idea that i had an Award Ceremony in my name happening in new york. Youve always been award winning, in my eyes. Will will the chancellor, jeremy hunt, win awards he cuts taxes . This is awards if he cuts taxes . This is in the Times Newspaper right next craigs handsome next to Daniel Craigs handsome face. Cant let tax rises go face. We cant let tax rises go on forever, insists hunt. But on forever, insists hunt. But emma , can britain afford tax emma, can britain afford tax cuts . I dont think we can. Cuts . I dont think we can. I dont think we can at the moment. But hes just saying that because its all happening tomorrow. And obviously tomorrow. And obviously statement of the bleeding obvious we cant let tax rises go on forever. They cant just go on forever. They cant just keep on rising and rising and rising. So he is saying that that vote for us and your taxes will come down. Itll all be fine. Yeah. I mean, briefly , paul, yeah. I mean, briefly, paul, what do you think about the tax burden highest since the war . Will labour get it down . Well, i dont know. But its well, i dont know. But its interesting, isnt it . The conservatives be interesting, isnt it . The cttaxervatives be interesting, isnt it . The cttax cuttingi be interesting, isnt it . The cttax cutting party, be interesting, isnt it . The cttax cutting party, and be interesting, isnt it . The cttax cutting party, and here be a tax cutting party, and here they are with the highest taxes comment. The ifs this week said so is the sort of so and this is the sort of Conference Season speech you get where they talk about low taxes but them by their deeds, but judge them by their deeds, which are to all our taxes up. Okay. Actually just albie, youre very good on economics because a bit of a because youre a bit of a financier, arent you . My other my other. Yeah. And my other my other. My job. I find it thats my other job. I find it thats where you make your. Make thats where you make your proper cash. Thats where you make your pro but ash. Thats where you make your pro but what i would say afford but what i would say afford tax cuts. No, at the moment. Tax cuts. No, not at the moment. But weve to be honest but weve also got to be honest about why taxes are rising. That is because weve got an ageing population shrinking population and a shrinking labour stagnant economy labour force, a stagnant economy. Until we sort out those issues , taxes will continue to go up because weve got to pay to support those older people on pensions who need health care. Amen to that. Look, a quick one its not a to one on this. Its not a to revelation say the good looking people it easier. Research people have it easier. Research shows promoted quicker shows they get promoted quicker and more employment and are offered more Employment Opportunities and even find it easier financial loans. Easier to get financial loans. Good people can borrow good looking people can borrow money so youve got to ask yourself, are attractive people more trustworthy . Do they get a more trustworthy . Do they get a better gig . Well, paul, you can tell us what its like. Know, not not something you know, not not something thats really featured very heavily in life. Have heavily in my life. I have to say. Babe. Say. This issue, youre a babe. Well, interesting, well, its quite interesting, though, what is considered though, that what is considered to be good looking each to be good looking in each generation to be good looking in each gene it . On to be good looking in each geneit . No isnt it . No so really. So really. Well, you look marilyn well, you look at Marilyn Monroe, you know, consider monroe, you know, who consider today would considered plus today would be considered plus sizes, you know, absolute pin up in the 50s and i think it does shift generation definitely because cultures you say right because cultures you say right because the james dean Marilyn Monroe is still considered beautiful. Yes. Shes larger than the than the kind of classical she wouldnt have done well in the 90s kate moss and all those 90s with kate moss and all those skinny models, she . Okay. Skinny models, would she . Okay. But still know marilyn but we still know that Marilyn Monroe gorgeous we monroe is bombshell. Gorgeous we still that symmetry she still agree that symmetry she that blondness that youth that that blondness that youth that that kind of beauty is still beautiful. Does the golden ratio which people have been using to judge beauty it sounds like a nightclub. By the way, this is about greek times, which is about the greek times, which is its literally a number which classical were classical buildings were built from, which neo classical buildings are built, from which beautiful faces as we consider our beautiful are they all fit the golden ratio. So this standard is something standard of beauty is something which been around for which has been around for thousands years. Thousands of years. Go. Well, youve there you go. Well, youve got ratio, me got the golden ratio, let me tell talk about tell you. Can we talk about headune tell you. Can we talk about headline back page headline heroes and back page zeros of the day, starting with you, emma. Your headline hero . My headline hero is well, my headline hero is well, ive been been trumped ive actually been been trumped by Melania Trump in the telegraph. She was my headline hero because says hero because nothing says commitment and sentiment and romance like like renegotiating your prenup for possibly the third time. This woman is clearly saying to donald trump, by the way, while youre on the skids, mate, while youre being dragged through the courts, im going to renegotiate that prenup for the third time because this is business arrangement. Dont is a business arrangement. Dont even its a marriage. Even pretend its a marriage. This arrangement. This is a business arrangement. She cash for her and she wants more cash for her and her son, barron good her teenage son, barron good luck to her. Barron trump no , luck to her. Barron trump no, im a huge admirer.
