England womens World Cup Final. Im asking is that misogyny should they just and in the should they just go . And in the big after the guilty big story after the guilty verdict of lucy letby, i will be asking a top criminal psychologist, are people just born evil . Later this hour, we will go live to italy. Well, because britain is going to continue to be short changed, arent we, by the £480 million deal with the french to do . Not a lot. And i think that the next wave of Illegal Migrants are on their way. Obviously, from the mediterranean. So how are they deaung mediterranean. So how are they dealing it . Ive got three top punst watching. Ive got three top pundits who havent been told what to say. They dont follow the script. Journalist nina mishcon, historian David Oldroyd bolts broadcaster , property bolts broadcaster, Property Portfolio holder and housewifes favourite aidan magee whats not to love . And tonight i will be asking the pundits as the son of the original snow white director criticises walt disney bosses are childhood classic six being destroyed and should comedy censor free speech . Plus of course your emails especially the spicy ones. Gb views gb news get them coming in people lots to come. But we start with my big opinion. Prince william and big opinion. Prince william and rishi sunak are scoring a massive own goal by not going to australia to see our lionesses bnng australia to see our lionesses bring football home. William is the president of the football association. I think he especially here, is opening himself up to claims of misogyny, which hed just avoid if he rocked up. Now, if he rocked up. Now, apparently, apparently hes afraid of the backlash from climate activists. Tell them to get stuffed. Dont let those miserable climate lunatics stop you from taking your family anywhere. Let alone to a World Cup Final. The england have cup final. The england have a great chance of winning that lot. Dont like football anyway, and if he pisses them off, thats a good thing. Expose them for the miserable little tree hugging that they really are still at least he said they will actually be cheering them on. Unlike this horrible little hyper nationalist loser that is humza yousaf. Ill tell you what i cheered humza your performance in the world. Scooter numpty finals. Last. Finals. Last. Yeah, right. Yeah, right. Yeah, right. Yeah. Is yeah, right. Yeah. Is pumping into my veins anyway. Maybe william doesnt want to 90, maybe william doesnt want to go, just in case hes booed by an incredibly republican australian population. I would argue i would argue that he should show his face because hes box office and people will love him. Rishi sunak should be love him. Rishi sunak should be going as well. Love him. Rishi sunak should be going as well. I love him. Rishi sunak should be going as well. I suspect he going as well. I suspect he doesnt want to be associated with the potential failure which may also be why he spends no time at all anywhere near the engush time at all anywhere near the English Channel or the nhs or school , or the English Channel or the nhs or school, or the bank of england. School, or the bank of england. At the very least, sunak could do is open the pubs early so britain can get hammered at early doors, if only, if only. So we can see this man nine pints deep before midday. Pints deep before midday. I believe we should have a picture of ed davey. Yes, thats right. Ive got a picture of him. There we go. Look. Celebrating. Finding the right socks to match his sandals. Oh, ive also got a picture here of ed daveys reaction to blocking a new Housing Development in his constituency. Good well constituency. Good stuff. Well done, yep yep. And i done, mate. Yep. Yep yep. And i think this the moment now think this is the moment now that found out that that ed davey found out that wed all have to take a channel migrant spare rooms. Migrant into our spare rooms. Oh, absolutely over the oh, hes absolutely over the moon. At theyre all moon. Look at him. Theyre all ecstatic. Just. Just ecstatic. Actually, just. Just some normal man and a woman on the end there. Anyway, rishi sunak, william. Of course sunak, Prince William. Of course it is not too late for you to do the right thing. Okay . Get on a plane and go and support our lionesses as they win the world cup for england. Cup for england. Wow. What do you think . Yes, wow. What do you think . Yes, thats right. I am over here, people. I am over here. Yes. Okay do you agree or do you disagree . Everybody gb views a gb news. Com. Ill get to your emails after the break which ive got a feeling might be coming quicker than expected if this continues. Reacting to my big. Now reacting to my big opinions than my brilliant opinions than i or my brilliant pundh opinions than i or my brilliant pundit journey analyst nina bischoff, historian David Oldroyd bolt and broad caster aidan magee. We are off to an absolute flyer. Here we go. Absolute flyer. Here we go. Right. So look, what do you make of that . Do you think this should be going . Oh, of course, of course. Prince william should be there. Of course. I mean, hes chairman. Chairman. I mean, why take the job if you dont do the work . I mean, its utterly outrageous. You know, this actually goes into what i think about william. Hes entitled. I think hes entitled. I think hes entitled. Think hes petulant. I i think hes petulant. I think hes selfish. And he he think hes selfish. And he is he is. He is just showing himself up. It you can say the petulant, selfish. Thats the future. Thats the future. Thats the future. King yeah, i think that yes, i do. I do. I do. And hes you know, hes hes also pompous as well. Theyve worked very hard for us to, you know, recently in the last couple of years for to us see them supposedly as normal people and caring people. But thats the problem. But thats the problem. Thats what hes trying to do by not going, isnt it . Oh, its nonsense show that hes on nonsense to show that hes on board with the climate. Doesnt want to give up he doesnt want to give up his holiday. You think thats what it really is . Absolutely. Really is . Ill. Olutely. Really is . Ill bring. Y. Really is . Ill bring you on this. Ill bring you in on this. David w agree david agree that thats the i dont agree that thats the case. . Prince william case. Prince william should i think Prince William should go because he is a president of for the and also because hes the future king as you the future king and as you mentioned your monologue, mentioned in your monologue, there is at the moment a question republicanism there is at the moment a questicmonarchy ublicanism there is at the moment a questicmonarchy ulaustralia. There is at the moment a que pollsynarchyjulaustralia. There is at the moment a querpolls track y ulaustralia. There is at the moment a que polls track y julaust 5545 to the polls track between 5545 to each the referendum in each side. The referendum in 1990, was 5545 to retaining 1990, it was 5545 to retaining the monarchy. That could change. The monarchy. That could change. I think he should be there as a consequence. Why sunak consequence. Why rishi sunak should have to should be there. Youll have to explain to me, because i dont see what the president s of the prime to with Prime Minister has to do with the match. Think its the football match. I think its a thing. A good thing. I just think its a nice thing. As a show of support to our lionesses, i can remember the deep, horrendous days the deep, dark, horrendous days of by the way, of theresa may, by the way, where got into a world where england got into a world cup they didnt even cup final and they didnt even want Saint Georges want to put the Saint Georges flag near downing flag anywhere near downing street annoyed the street in case it annoyed the scots, welsh or the northern scots, the welsh or the northern irish. But, you know, least irish. But, you know, at least were was were not there anymore. I was at downing yesterday and at downing street yesterday and i confirm theyve got i can confirm theyve got the Saint Georges aiden would Saint Georges flag. Aiden would it the world to our it not mean the world to our lionesses barnstorming lionesses to see a barnstorming pre match from prince pre match speech from Prince William as he starts all nice and and culminates him and slow and culminates with him ripping and ripping his shirt off and saying, come on, bring it home . Yeah, possibly, but yeah, possibly, possibly. But the patrick here is the bottom line, patrick here is that doesnt it as an that he doesnt see it as an important event to to. Important enough event to go to. Thats whats its women thats whats because its women kicking no, its kicking a ball about. No, its not i wouldnt say not misogyny. I wouldnt say its all, just think its its all, but i just think its not. He didnt attend of the not. He didnt attend any of the world cup matches for the men back in december in qatar. But you bet your Bottom Dollar you can bet your Bottom Dollar he been there had he would have been there had england the final. England reached the final. Of course, out the quarterfinals. So that is misogyny. So that is misogyny. Think well, do you think so . I mean, it just doesnt see it. Maybe see the event. Maybe he doesnt see the event. Maybe he doesnt see the event. Maybe doesnt not maybe he doesnt see its not i dont its about women. Dont know. Its about women. I think its about the event, the sporting event. You can get what he consider a lesser he would consider a lesser sporting mens sporting event in the mens category you can category in any sport you can think if you didnt think of that if you didnt think of that if you didnt think important, not think its important, hes not going go. And think going to go. And i dont think its i just its about misogyny. I just think think this think he doesnt think this is an enough event. An important enough event. Otherwise go final otherwise hed go final of the seriously . Well, yeah, its fine. But i well, yeah, its fine. But i mean, its its not a huge mean, its not its not a huge sport country. Womens sport in this country. Womens football. Its still football. Its not. Its still growing. Football. Its not. Its still gr0\ground. Weve got long way the ground. Come to his i would say hes come to his senses hes listened what senses and hes listened to what pubuc senses and hes listened to what public and a Public Opinion is. And thats a smart thing smart move. But the thing the thing about republican thing about the republican attitude is that australians love theyre so love their sport and theyre so behind the matildas and actually the newspaper reports in in australia matildas australia after the matildas defeat, evenhanded. They reckon that the lionesses so lionesses were a better team, so they would william for they would respect william for supporting, you know , his supporting, you know, his National Team though nina because theyd been spying on the, on the England Training camp, hadnt they . Well, i mean, camp, hadnt they . Well, i mean, look, let me just put my card. You cant enjoy that underhand you cant enjoy that uncwell, d put my cards on well, let me put my cards on the. Have zero interest the table. I have zero interest in football, mens or females. I think that women think its wonderful that women have to stage where they have got to the stage where they wear the sport is not only accepted, but admired and applauded. Fact they got applauded. And the fact they got to cup, the only applauded. And the fact they got to here cup, the only applauded. And the fact they got to here who zup, the only applauded. And the fact they got to here who actuallythe only applauded. And the fact they got to here who actually watched one here who actually watched the only match ive ever watched on television or anywhere else. Was the World Cup Final in 1966. I would. I would. So you need to. So you need to. Absolutely. Absolutely. Because you are clearly a good charm. Should good luck charm. Should rishi sunak open early doors sunak open the pubs early doors on course he should, sunak open the pubs early doors on least course he should, sunak open the pubs early doors on least becausejrse he should, sunak open the pubs early doors on least because its he should, sunak open the pubs early doors on least because its ae should, sunak open the pubs early doors on least because its a goodjld, sunak open the pubs early doors on letot because its a goodjld, sunak open the pubs early doors on leto go ecause its a goodjld, sunak open the pubs early doors on leto go to use its a goodjld, sunak open the pubs early doors on leto go to use its ibeforerld, thing to go to the pub before going and going going to church and then going afterwards, which im sure everyone afterwards, which im sure eve no 1e afterwards, which im sure eve no ,3 afterwards, which im sure eve no , i its such an no, i mean its just such an easy sunak a man who easy win for sunak a man who struggles, it seems to get pubuc struggles, it seems to get public so Public Opinion behind him. So if he would he were to do this, it would immediately give him a boost. He were to do this, it would immbesides give him a boost. He were to do this, it would immbesides which,im a boost. He were to do this, it would immbesides which, in a boost. He were to do this, it would immbesides which, i thinkyost. He were to do this, it would immbesides which, i think , st. He were to do this, it would immbesides which, i think , as and besides which, i think, as nedra said, this is an important thing. As said, thing. We stand, as you said, a very chance of winning. So very good chance of winning. So why festive why not make it a festive atmosphere . Why not allow people to sort to enjoy it rather than the sort of spirited puritanism . Of mean spirited puritanism . Those girls. I think of those girls. Theyve so theyve theyve worked so hard theyve got if they got to this stage. And if they win or they lose up, got to this stage. And if they win or they lose up , theyre win or if they lose up, theyre cheering them on. James cleverly. Mr mr charisma bypass and some woman i, i cant remember who i dont remember her name or what she looks at now. Excuse me. Youre telling me that none of his advisers are getting around Prince William . Not yet. King Prince William . Not yet. King Prince William . Not yet. King Prince William . Not yet. King Prince William and saying to him, look, whether or not you think football is think that womens football is a big event, telling big enough event, im telling you is, but its too late you it is, but its too late now, patrick, if he goes people were instinctively now, patrick, if he goes people we didnt instinctively now, patrick, if he goes people we didnt want instinctively now, patrick, if he goes people we didnt want inthere. Vely he didnt want to be there. He could blame it on security. No, no, he could. Could blame it on security. And no, he could. Could blame it on security. And actually, uld. And if he were to go, people wouldnt remember that hed originally said he wouldnt. Wouldnt remember that hed origina remember wouldnt. Wouldnt remember that hed origina remember that. Dnt. Picture all about the picture, picture with picture, the picture of him with the forever the world cup would live forever. He probably want to be. He probably doesnt want to be the its the lionesses. So just its so i just think its absolutely ludicrous. But also lying it. The other lying about it. Its the other thing. If he if indeed lying about it. Its the other thingare if he if indeed lying about it. Its the other thingare trying ne if indeed lying about it. Its the other thingare trying to if indeed lying about it. Something airport. Is that something that the well . The brits do incredibly well . Right. Big story tonight, right. In the big story tonight, very much a shift in tone. Theres the guilty verdict theres after the guilty verdict of i will be asking of lucy letby. I will be asking a top criminal psychologist, are people just born evil . Well, look, the question, of course, that is, if they are, then actually only the death actually its only the death penalty. Good enough. Ill see you radio. Welcome back. Winners happy friday. Im going to delve into the terrifying world of the gb news inbox now. Vaiews gbnews. Com. Dr. Selwyn says dr. Selwyn interesting that you put your own title there. Obviously i off my cap to you, but i am a royalist, but i am concerned that Prince William seems to believe that he can pick uses his pick and choose how he uses his service. Yeah. Hey, hes service. Yeah. Hey, hes president he should president of the afa. He should be there. I agree with you. Hes missing an open goal. Gwen says Cornwall Council are allowing all pubs in cornwall to open early on a sunday morning. This is exactly why cornwall wants to be its own country, isnt it . Be its own country, isnt it . Just to do things differently . Jennifer opinion is jennifer says. My big opinion is stop the criticism of Prince William. Jennifer trying to do him favour. Absolutely. Love him a favour. Absolutely. Love Prince William. I think hes great. I wait for him to great. I cant wait for him to be although be the next king, although of course our course that would mean our current king dying, which we dont current king dying, which we dont heis current king dying, which we dont he is missing a dont want. But he is missing a trick he should be there trick here. He should be there now. Its his time for the big story. Neonatal nurse story. Tonight, a neonatal nurse has been found guilty of murdering seven babies and attempting to kill six more, making her worst making her the worst child serial killer in modern british history. Lucy letby carried out history. Lucy letby carried out the killings between june 2015 and june 2016 on the unit where she worked at the countess of chester hospital. Shes been convicted at Manchester Crown court after one of the longest running murder trials in british history. But when you look at the details of this case and you look at the manner in which she committed her crimes, trying to make as make it as excruciating as possible for the babies involved, to take involved, trying to take pictures with the babies afterwards , wanting to around afterwards, wanting to be around their families to soak it all in. I want to know, are people just born evil . To discuss this, i am joined by retired criminal psychologist dr. David holmes. Psychologist dr. David holmes. Dr. David, thank you very, very much. Can people be born evil . Much. Can people be born evil . People can be born evil . Its quite a difficult thing for people to swallow , and most people to swallow, and most people to swallow, and most people will rebel against it. You know, its got something to do with their childhood, the way they brought up they they were brought up and they latched to on something. They were by the evil were influenced by the evil friends or whatever. But the friends or whatever. But the simple fact is, and usually when youre talking about profound serial killers and also lucy letby and you have to have a staff talking point whereby they dont actually feel anything for other human beings. They feel for themselves. And thats about for themselves. And thats about it. So the start point for lucy letby would have been at birth when she had a deficiency in empathy and strong psychopathy , empathy and strong psychopathy, which meant that she will go through life with a different set of criteria for enjoying herself , for getting pleasure herself, for getting pleasure from life , for getting from life, for getting satisfaction from life. And she satisfaction from life. And she will have gone through life trying this, that and the other. And it will not be the kind of sensitive things, a bit of love, a bit of bit of this. Sensitive things, a bit of love, a bit of bit of this. Um, it a bit of bit of this. Um, it would be quite simple things where she control others, where she can manipulate others and she can manipulate others and she has learned that in fact having an oppressive power over small children is in fact what she derives some pleasure from , she derives some pleasure from, some satisfaction in life and to pushit some satisfaction in life and to push it further, which explains why, you know, she actually did, you know, pursue the parents and make an elaborate kind of metal system. You know, she kept trophies. She she would keep photographs, etcetera. Um, photographs, etcetera. Um, because shes deriving satisfaction from this and that can not ever be can that ever be can not ever be can that ever be can that ever be removed from somebody or do they have to just be exterminated somehow . Well, be exterminated somehow . Well, you know, its up to society on that one, really, because basically those traits cannot go away. You cannot possibly train those traits out. You cant remove them from people. Um, however you can possibly divert them. But in the case of someone who is learned and accomplished a level of indifference to sensitive individuals , to babies sensitive individuals, to babies and people that are , you know, and people that are, you know, got got problems , um, then you got got problems, um, then you cant unlearn that. Its very, very difficult. And the potential for doing it again as well as the potential for having doneit well as the potential for having done it before all these cases we know about is going to be there. And needs to be taken account of. So youre basically locking these people up for life because you really cannot afford to let them go. Um, its the to let them go. Um, its the case with many other serial killers , many other people that killers, many other people that are highly psychopathic , highly are highly psychopathic, highly dangerous to others, not all psychopaths, you know, become dangerous. They learn to get dangerous. They learn to get satisfaction from other things and useful things. Sometimes but unfortunately , when they take unfortunately, when they take this path, thats where they gain their satisfaction. This gain their satisfaction. This sort of accomplishment, this story could get a lot worse because theres another investigation into some time that she spent at Liverpool Womens hospital. There are, of course , a lot there are, of course, a lot of other baby deaths at the countess of chester hospital, no doubt even more of these are going to be looked into. Now, did become a neonatal nurse did she become a neonatal nurse specifically she kill specifically so she could kill babies, think . Babies, do you think . Doubt it, to be honest. I doubt it, to be honest. I think she kind of gained the idea that she enjoyed controlling people. And the idea that small children, you know, they cant speak back, theyre not going to grass on her. Theyre not going to say, oh, she did this to me yesterday. And kind of and so they provide a kind of easy outlet for what she wants in life. This this attention for being the wonderful nurse saving these babies from the horrors that shes created herself. Um, so , you know, she she is so, you know, she she is actually not someone you could retrain into, into having, you know , um, but to pick this up, know, um, but to pick this up, she will have picked the idea up bit by bit. And once you got into a unit, a neonatal unit, you were talking about a very complex area where she has a lot of power. Shes not overlooked of power. Shes not overlooked all the time , and she has all the time, and she has basically the life, the power of life and death over small children, supposedly , when the children, supposedly, when the police raided her home, she had a lot of like stuffed child animal toys on her bed. A childrens duvet, animal toys on her bed. A childrens duvet , etcetera. A childrens duvet, etcetera. Do you think she was somebody who was almost locked in a certain child like psychological state, albeit with evil intent . State, albeit with evil intent . Um, i dont think so. I think she thought of herself as that. And we dont need to get sort of carried away with the idea that she was a sensitive person, that you know, needed her teddy bear or she, loved or anything. She, she loved the idea enacting the caring idea of enacting the caring person. She loved the idea of wallowing in this kind of sentiment. It meant absolutely nothing to her. You know what i find another more fascinating element to this is actually the way that she looks and i think thats something that enabled her to get away with this for a long penod get away with this for a long period of she questions period of time. She questions needs answered by the needs to be answered by the Hospital Trust numerous different doctors at numerous different doctors at numerous different times said we think shes killing babies and the Hospital Trusts put her back on the ward. They made some of those doctors apologised her. Those doctors apologised to her. They those doctors they made some of those doctors have her. It was have mediation with her. It was absolutely disgraceful. What absolutely disgraceful. What happened there, no doubt to led more lives being lost as a result. But i think the way that she looked made her get away with it. Theres another interesting element to it. One thing in this that was setting court was that they think that she fancied a doctor that was on the wards and she would deliberately try to crash babies so that he would come so that they could try to resuscitate those babies together. And then grieve together over whatsapp afterwards. And that, lets be afterwards. And that, lets be honest with you, is fully nuts, isnt it . Isnt it . It is pretty odd , but its it is pretty odd, but its quite straightforward for her. You know, she she craves this. She she craves attention from all professionals. But she also would crave romantic attention from this particular person. And how does she go about getting it . No, she doesnt go out for a meal with him. She tries to kill or put a babys life in jeopardy in order to create an emergency situation where they both can actually go in. Youre quite correct in thinking that this is a deliberate thing that shes doing and she is actually in control of it. And the fact that she has this innocent look is the reason that shes actually got into this job and got in so far into this job and been trusted with babies and repeatedly, you know , let off repeatedly, you know, let off for what appears, you know , we for what appears, you know, we talk about circumstantial evidence. We talk about concrete evidence. We talk about concrete evidence. We talk about concrete evidence. But the circumstantial evidence. But the circumstantial evidence that has led these people to make complaints about her and its when you get enough circumstantial evidence where every arrow points towards her and no arrows point away from her, then then you have certainty that she is responsible for that situation. Does the medical profession at times lend itself to these people . Harold shipman is the obvious other example. Of course, the previous angel of death as well was an ernst. Our people with a particular proclivity to this drug born towards that profession. Do you think . Think . Yes , they are. And its yes, they are. And its unfortunate , of course, they unfortunate, of course, they then obviously placed, you know, in a position where they can control life and death over a large number of people. But its a case that you cannot really filter out. People until they actually start doing something suspicious. So, okay, these suspicious. So, okay, these people are fairly rare in the medical profession. This isnt something thats happening every day. Then they are the exception, not the rule. So to find them to actually seek them out, you need to start having a kind of audit trail. Out, you need to start having a kind of audit trail. But for kind of audit trail. But for medics that if once they actually create a suspicion , actually create a suspicion, then you go in, you have cctv , then you go in, you have cctv, youll have other things that they may not know about being observed. And you tease out observed. And you tease out these people way before they start. Start. Doctor david just just very quickly, very quickly and very finely , do you think that she finely, do you think that she would do it again if she was ever let out because she stopped . I think if she wasnt under observation and she was maybe doing babysitting for someone, i think there might be an alarm clock in the middle of the night. You know, its one of those things. All right, doctor , look, all right, doctor, look, thank you very much, dr. David holmes , who is a retired holmes, who is a retired criminal psychologist. Look, loads more still to come. We will be moving on from that and talking few other talking about a few other lighter topics as well, it must be said. But right now, it is your aiden. Not your weather with aiden. Not that one. That warm feeling inside from boxt boilers. Proud sponsors of weather on. Gb news. Weather on. Gb news. Hello again. Its aidan hello again. Its Aidan Mcgivern here from the met office with the gb news forecast overnight storm betty will bring lashing of wind and rain to the uk in some places. Gales as well as in other places thunderstorms. Betty was named by met eireann. The Irish Met Service because the strongest winds will be affecting southern ireland overnight, but also western parts of england , western parts of england, southwest scotland, Northern Ireland and wales will see gales and in some places 60 or even 70 mile per hour wind gusts. Worse, the winds moved through overnight, but theres also the risk of thunderstorms developing across the of england and across the east of england and persistent for scotland and persistent rain for scotland and northern all in all, Northern Ireland. So all in all, a lively night weather and a lively night of weather and a warm night as well. Staying fairly muggy. We start off saturday with the wet and windy weather moving through irish sea coasts. Northern ireland, as well as scotland. The most persistent rain arrives into the north of scotland but will continue to see further spells of wet weather for the rest of scotland, and scotland, Northern Ireland and northwest england the northwest england across the rest of England Wales rest of england and wales brightens therell be some brightens up. So mid 20 possible in the southeast turning even warmer in the south through next week, staying changeable in the north. That warm feeling inside from boxt boilers, proud sponsors of weather on. Gb news. Weather on. Gb news. All right. A couple of quick emails. Gwen says i dont understand why william isnt going to the womens World Cup Final. He went to the womens euros final when was in the euros final when it was in the uk. Ive got a feeling that might to that might be why he went to that one, take your point, one, but i take your point, gwen. Surely the gwen. Roger says surely the executives what executives that were told what the seven paediatricians thought was going on. This obviously was going on. This is obviously about letby and tried to about lucy letby and tried to brush the carpet are brush it under the carpet are just as guilty and shell be brought justice. I actually brought to justice. I actually do agree with you on that. Roger i think that anyone who is not complicit in a cover up, but was, i would argue , negligent in was, i would argue, negligent in this, i mean, just ignoring all the concerns should face the full repercussions of their actions, actually, because kids died. Babies died. One more. Died. Babies died. One more. Claudine says, i do not believe people are born evil. Lucy letby has committed an abhorrent crime, but your guest said that she without empathy and she was born without empathy and with disorder is not the with a disorder that is not the same born evil. With a disorder that is not the same interesting born evil. With a disorder that is not the same interesting point. Rn evil. With a disorder that is not the same interesting point. Weevil. With a disorder that is not the same interesting point. We are look, interesting point. We are moving on lucy letby now. Moving on from lucy letby now. Im will be im sure everybody will be pleased to coming next pleased to know. Coming up next with the son of with the pundits. As the son of the white director the original snow white director criticises walt disney bosses are childhood classics being destroyed and should comedy censor free speech . It will also be talking about why Jonathan Van Tam is wrong to now be going and working for moderna, one of the Vaccine Companies. Ill see you radio. Welcome back. And joining me welcome back. And joining me throughout the course of the show are journalist nina musgrave, historian David Oldroyd bolt, and broadcast writer and property guru aidan magee. Now the directors. Son magee. Now the directors. Son of the 1937 hit classic snow white in the seven dwarves, and that you not to call them that anymore has branded the new remake insulting to his fathers work after modern day snow white actress Rachel Zegler called the original film extremely outdated and compare the princes behaviour to that of a stalker. So he said that his father and walt disney would be turning in their graves over a new woke remake. So our childhood classic remake. So our childhood classic is being destroyed. Nina, ill is being destroyed. Nina, ill start with you. Why do we have to make everything all woke these days . You know, the seven dwarves are not going to be dwarves are not going to be dwarves anymore. Weve got all sorts of different people, you know, its all well, know, its all gone. Well, why cant just keep things as cant we just keep things as they are . Absolutely preserve this. Say its historic. Say that there are historic. Say that there are certain things about it that people nowadays would find uncomfortable or dont agree with, but keep it that is a wonderful Creative Work of art. It was. It was brilliant film for its time. And i still think its brilliant and people , if its brilliant and people, if they want to make a film , think they want to make a film, think of their own stories. Yeah think of their own stories. Yeah think of your own stuff created. Its like sampling. Like its like sampling. Its like its like sampling. Its like its like sample thing. Like musicians sample thing. Other musicians yeah and other musicians work. Yeah and having a hit single off the back of somebody elses rhythm or somebody elses melody. I think youve hit on a key point there, david, because i think its actually easy, easier for people to look at an old classic find a little problem with it and go, right, im going to remake that. But im going to make everyone in it every single colour of the rainbow. Im going to a character. Im colour of the rainbow. Im going to to a character. Im colour of the rainbow. Im going to to highlightiaracter. Im colour of the rainbow. Im going to to highlight the ter. Im colour of the rainbow. Im going to to highlight the fact im colour of the rainbow. Im going to to highlight the fact that going to highlight the fact that theres some thing about the patriarchy then that patriarchy here and then do that as opposed to actually writing something their own. Something of their own. Western producer i asked a western producer last year, is it last year, white, is it absolutely everything on at the moment a remake a moment is either a remake or a sequel bands sequel or a bands back catalogue into catalogue being put into a flimsy plot he said. Its flimsy plot line . He said. Its really simple. Get really simple. You dont get financial original financial backing for original ideas. Whether in ideas. Box office, whether in cinema or television or theatre, will come on the back of will only come on the back of things already know things that people already know , update things , and its easy to update things for the modern era because apparently people do to apparently people do stupid to realise things were written realise that things were written 86 ago have 86 years ago might have different emphases. To different emphases. I have to say, question the say, on the question of the seven dwarves, this a total seven dwarves, this is a total misrepresentation of what dwarves theyre not little dwarves are. Theyre not Little People , as people people, as in people with dwarfism. Magical dwarfism. Theyre magical beings. Was. I was beings. Yeah, i was. I was saying that. Consequently, the lord rings to be lord of the rings has to be recast weve elves recast because weve got elves and. Its utter and dwarves. Its just utter stupidity part of disney stupidity on the part of disney who determined to work ify who seem determined to work ify their entire catalogue to their entire back catalogue to satisfy a very small number of very stupid american actresses. There go , aiden. Well, there we go, aiden. I mean, do you make of this mean, what do you make of this idea that the prince is even behaving stalker . Well behaving like a stalker . Well i do think languages is important. I do, because i think back to when my dad died, a couple of years ago, we found an advert that applied to reply to that he applied to reply to i ianed that he applied to reply to i invited him to come and be a nurse in england and the word used to describe what we would now, now people would learn difficulties. It was educationally subnormal. So educationally subnormal. So language has to update that would be considered very unkind. My would be considered very unkind. My problem though is how do my problem though is how far do we this . If were going my problem though is how far do wehave this . If were going my problem though is how far do wehave take . If were going my problem though is how far do wehave take thesezre going my problem though is how far do we have take these decisions to have to take these decisions now of now on a different elements of our including in our language, including in films, and etcetera, films, in culture and etcetera, etcetera , what happens 20 etcetera, what happens in 20 years are we going to years time . What are we going to think then . How far removed is it from original it going to be from the original film we and enjoyed film that we saw and we enjoyed maybe different decade, maybe in a different decade, but it told that it also being told that that original thing. Okay. If thats the thing. Okay. If you want to update something, look. Whatever. People can look fine. Whatever. People can choose to and it if choose to go and watch it if they but they want, people cannot. But then to in a cancel then trying to in a way cancel then trying to in a way cancel the that brings me the original and that brings me on my next story because on to my next story because comedian had his comedian Graham Linehan had his comedy unleashed show cancelled twice this week. Actually, after the first venue, leith arches cancelled the event following backlash from activists, trans activists they took to instagram, claiming that they were unaware that Graham Linehan had been booked at the venue. They said, do not. So, you they said, we do not. So, you know, mean bits of this know, they mean bits of this because capitals. We do know, they mean bits of this bec support capitals. We do know, they mean bits of this bec support this apitals. We do know, they mean bits of this bec support this comediane do know, they mean bits of this bec support this comedian oro know, they mean bits of this bec support this comedian or his not support this comedian or his views. And we will not be allowed to perform at our venue. We are an inclusive venue and will allow such views to will not allow such views to violate our space. There are obviously not inclusive because theyre so theyre cancelling something. So graham to graham then took to holyrood to perform his comedy gig outside the Scottish Parliament yesterday evening. Should comedy yesterday evening. Should comedy ever censor free speech . Nina never , never. Never, never. The truth is always the most important thing. The truth. Important thing. The truth. Thats what i would you know, i would march for. I would fight for. And i find it quite for. And i find it quite chilling and very disturbing that it would seem a section of the popular asian do not want to hear views different from their own. Is that a bit rich . Were going from, you know. Were going from, you know. No, absolutely not. Why do you say its a bit rich . One of the things about over the brexit referendum and stuff one of the things about over the that, referendum and stuff one of the things about over the that, whatandum and stuff one of the things about over the that, what lidum and stuff one of the things about over the that, what i said and stuff one of the things about over the that, what i said the stuff like that, what i said the truth. I am i can you explain to me what you just said to me . Yeah. I think its some sometimes you have a very vocal werent you have a very vocal werent you about your the way that you about your your the way that you about your your the way that you brexit referendum. Remain. Im yes i voted to remain. Im not telling a lie. Ive never told a lie. Not telling a lie. Ive never tol nolie. Not telling a lie. Ive never tol no. E. Not telling a lie. Ive never tol no. What about during the no. What about during the coronavirus pandemic things coronavirus pandemic and things like quite like that . You know, ive quite strong about who strong views about people who didnt vaccinated didnt want to get vaccinated or didnt want to get vaccinated or didnt mask. Didnt want to wear a mask. Views, but i have strong views, but i dont them. Will dont lie about them. I will tell truth about tell you the truth about what my opinions but never lied. No, no, youre not lied about it as when it comes it all. But as in when it comes to being quite vocal about people oppose, know, people who oppose, you know, ive not been vocal about people who oppose me. Ive given my own views ive given you my own views and will defend if somebody and will defend them if somebody attacks me like i am doing, like you do, i feel attacked you all do, i feel attacked now. Feel its no, im not. I feel its no, im not. You are you. Youre accusing you are you. Youre accusing me something that quite unfair. Look, its interesting, you know, when people disagreed with you the you at the time of the coronavirus pandemic, can coronavirus pandemic, i can remember vocal , remember you being very vocal, as of course. And as is your right, of course. And i just that have i just thought that could have been a form of. Been perceived as a form of. Example. Oh, give me an example. Oh, because used to see you because you used to see you quite on vine. Quite regularly on jeremy vine. There you know, there were situations david i ask, situations there. David i ask, ill over you. Ill throw it over to you. Like to repeat id like you to repeat that and actually tell me which incident bit of bit incident or bit of bit of conversation or bit of discussion. Yeah, thats all right. Discussion. Yeah, thats all right. I can do. Because one of those my do. Because one of those was my fiance actually. So there you fiance, actually. So there you go. Skin the go. Ive got some skin in the game. David, going to game. But david, im going to ask do you ask you about this now. Do you think that actually there is a time a for people to time and a place for people to be for certain be cancelled for having certain views . I mean, what is the line . Right. So we wouldnt want certain going out and certain people going out and spouting a torrent, filth, but thinking that a man is a man and a woman is a woman not the a woman is a woman is not the situation. I would have thought. And just no, its not. And its just another no, its not. And its just an discussion of it whatsoever. As to the limits of free speech. Im pretty absolutist this. Im pretty absolutist on this. There limits to free there are no limits to free speech contravene speech if you contravene existing by saying existing legislation by saying something racist or something that is racist or inches something that is racist or incites hatred or incites violence, then youll be subject to penalty of the law within violence, then youll be subject to constrain of the law within violence, then youll be subject to constrain. f the law within violence, then youll be subject to constrain. Then law within violence, then youll be subject to constrain. Then you within violence, then youll be subject to constrain. Then you have n that constrain. Then you have the right to say what you want and to stand up for and you have to stand up for what you said and be able to defend this instance, defend it. In this instance, i think visibility of think the sheer visibility of the out by lees the statement put out by lees archers that theyre an inclusive you know, inclusive venue and you know, then immediately in immediately going against themselves on their terms, which demonstrates that they have absolutely no concept of inclusivity and free speech, theyre simply trying to placate that is not how a placate a mob that is not how a functioning society goes about defending free speech. Well, is this a mob . Its a mob with a minority view as thats thing. View as well. Thats the thing. Mean. Yeah. Yeah, it is. I mean. And a harmful view. Yeah its benny isnt it . Benny hill stuff, isnt it . I mean thats part mean i think thats a part of me thinks thought they thinks the archers thought they were good publicity thinks the archers thought they werof good publicity thinks the archers thought they werof it good publicity thinks the archers thought they werof it in good publicity thinks the archers thought they werof it in some good publicity thinks the archers thought they werof it in some goctheyblicity thinks the archers thought they werof it in some gocthey are. y out of it in some eyes they are. But into this second but then you go into this second venue and they say theyre not having theyre having it either. Now theyre going do going outside of holyrood to do it. You hes it. I mean, you know, hes a mainstream he mainstream comic. In fact, he even that up stand even said that he took up stand up problems up because he had problems getting through. Getting his scripts through. Well, through. But mean, getting his scripts through. Vsuppose through. But mean, getting his scripts through. Vsuppose thnotjh. But mean, getting his scripts through. Vsuppose thnot mainstreaman, getting his scripts through. Vsuppose thnot mainstream in i suppose its not mainstream in that father is that regard. But father ted is still widely he still watched widely and he noficed still watched widely and he noticed that, you know, comedy, comedy is actually supposed to offend some. Offend in some. Yes, yes, indeed. Look at jerry know jerry sergeevich. You know he. Yeah, actually been yeah, hes hes actually been way before anybody else in a different in a different manner but but you know youre shocked by something. Oh my god. And then you laugh. Thats thats part of what comedy has always been. Yeah, was. He started it yeah, he was. He started it was part of the ebenezer. Ebenezen was part of the ebenezer. Ebenezer. Good song back in 1992. Is that right . And that was quite subversive as well. I cant remember that. I cant remember that. I cant remember that. I mean, its aidan magee. I mean, its aidan magee. Photographic i mean, its aidan magee. Everyotographic i mean, its aidan magee. Every single hic i mean, its aidan magee. Every single obscure memory of every single obscure fact that ever you can fact that ever exists. You can ask you football ask him to tell you football score results from ago score results from 35 years ago and actually be yeah 38 and hed actually be yeah 38 yeah. Absolutely able to get yeah. Be absolutely able to get it coming up next as it look coming up next as britain continues to be shortchanged by their £480 million deal with the french, is the next wave of Illegal Immigrants on their way from the mediterranean . I want to know as mediterranean . I want to know as well, how are they dealing with it . We a lot. For example, it . We hear a lot. For example, dont deaths in the dont we, about deaths in the med . People making med . But if people are making it through, are , then through, which a lot are, then theyre getting to theyre clearly getting to italy. Going be our italy. Is this going to be our problem in about six months time . Play time . How is this going to play out . Going live to italy out . We are going live to italy next. Ill see you in two. France is stopping fewer chunnel migrants than last year despite nearly £500 million worth of our money going to them. Only 45. 2 of migrants have been stopped by french beach patrols since january. This is french beach patrols since january. This is down from 45. 8 on the same period last year. How can this be happening . How can this be happening . Seriously . Tory mps have called these figures disappointing and dismal. Yeah, the taxpayer and dismal. Yeah, the taxpayer and a much stronger word for it mate. They have demanded a value for money investigation into where the uks taxpayers money has actually gone. A value for money actually gone. A value for money investigation. All right, we can do that. Yeah, but that would presumably require the french to tell truth , which theyre presumably require the french to tell going truth , which theyre presumably require the french to tell going to uth , which theyre presumably require the french to tell going to do. , which theyre presumably require the french to tell going to do. , whicwillayre not going to do. There will be on holiday anyway. On strike or on holiday anyway. And by the that weve and then by the time that weve had have more record had that, well have more record numbers of people coming across the isnt numbers of people coming across the does isnt numbers of people coming across the does else isnt numbers of people coming across the does else think;nt numbers of people coming across the does else think its it . Does anyone else think its starting to look almost deliberate . However, the deliberate . This however, the influx seem to be influx doesnt seem to be stopping any time soon with italy seeing a rapid of italy seeing a rapid rate of migrants via that mediterranean route. And this is why i wanted to talk about it, because what i strongly is italys strongly suspect is italys problems now , potentially problems now, potentially greeces problem as well, that part of the world is going to become our problem in about six months time. Im joined now by Award Winning journalist. Its Award Winning journalist. Its an here camile , thank you very an here camile, thank you very much. Great to have you on the show. Can i ask what is currently happening in italy with the migrant crisis there . Were hearing a lot at the moment about deaths in the mediterranean. Whats the reality like for people who make it to italy . It to italy . Hello. Good evening. Yes, the hello. Good evening. Yes, the number of people arriving in italy this year is doubled. Italy this year is doubled. Respect on of last year. We have reached this week 100,000 migrants arriving in italy basically is at the same level of thousand and 16. And we are expecting that until the end of the year they will arrive. Above the year they will arrive. Above 200,000 people. You know that. 200,000 people. You know that. The crack down of illegal migration was one of the main point of the Giorgia Meloni government. But basically also government. But basically also if they approved , the government if they approved, the government approved very strong. The law legislation against the for example , humanitarian boats and example, humanitarian boats and also , as you know , declare they also, as you know, declare they declare a state of Emergency Agency in april and negotiated with tunisia an agreement with the tunisian government. And 150 the tunisian government. And 150 million deal with the tunisian government. Basically this was. Government. Basically this was. Not that does not did not work. People well are trying to cross the med. There were fought for the med. There were fought for shipwrecked in the last few weeks with with the basic this year , 2000 people had left their year, 2000 people had left their lives trying to do the desperate and that is that is that is obviously terrible the amount of deaths that i think is really interesting as well is that you said that around 200,000 people are coming or have come that there was attempt to deal there was an attempt to deal with tunisia that hasnt worked and that youve got a government that was recently elected to stop the boats and has not been able to stop the boats. Its almost like were living in the same country, actually, given whats been going on there. But is italy happy to wave these people through through to europe to just get them out of the country . Them out of the country . Well, basically , italy now well, basically, italy now has a bigger reception problem because because in the last few years , in the last two years, years, in the last two years, the past government has could found two reception centres and now basically italy did not have reception centre. They cannot reception centre. They cannot the cities cannot accommodate these people that are arriving. These people that are arriving. Basically the government last week said that. Deep. 2000 seats week said that. Deep. 2000 seats are missing in the reception centre. Basically also we know that half of the people that arrives in italy in few days, they will try to cross the border with france, cross the border with france, cross the border with france, cross the border with other european country because they dont want to stay in italy. They want to to stay in italy. They want to reach their families and friends in other European Countries , in other European Countries, especially france. Yes United Kingdom , germany , sweden. Yeah exactly. They are going to keep coming on through. But look. And last yean on through. But look. And last year, thank you very, very much. Its been really interesting to find out whats happening in italy ive said, italy because like ive said, this to our this is going to become our problem in matter months. Problem in a matter of months. Its its way on its going to work its way on through. Analysts calmly. Theyre winning italian theyre an Award Winning italian journalist, 200,000 people arriving in italy, passing through. And for anyone who thinks this problem is going to get better before it gets worse is absolutely , completely off. Is absolutely, completely off. The rocker. Okay. We are going the rocker. Okay. We are going to be ending up bearing the brunt of this because no other european country wants to take a lot of mostly young men. And the more of them that arrive across the in coming the channel in the coming months, then they will be able to set down more to set down roots for more people coming in the future. We know that they already, in lot know that they already, in a lot of being told that they of cases, being told that they can with relatives. Of cases, being told that they can we with relatives. Of cases, being told that they can we are with relatives. Of cases, being told that they can we are letting relatives. Of cases, being told that they can we are letting relatof s. Well, we are letting a lot of those in, arent those relatives in, arent we . But coming up next my take at but coming up next in my take at ten, the public ten, after advising the public to get covid jab , is it to get a covid jab, is it unethical for Jonathan Van Tam to take a job at the vaccine manufacturer moderna . I think manufacturer moderna . I think although theres no indication that anything untoward is happening , it just looks really happening, it just looks really , really fishy. All right. Well see you. In three. See you. In three. Looks like things are heating up. Boxed boilers proud sponsors up. Boxed boilers proud sponsors of weather on. Gb news. Of weather on. Gb news. Hello again. Plus, we will have tonights headline, heroes and back page zeros, big stories , big guests and always big opinions. , big guests and always big opinions. Here is my take. , big guests and always big opinions. Here is my take. At opinions. Here is my take. At ten. Jonathan van tam. Remember him . He was chris whitty fluffer him . He was chris whitty fluffer dunng him . He was chris whitty fluffer during the covid pandemic. He was the former deputy chief medical officer and was obviously very pro vaccine as you would expect. He was also very quick to shut down any questions about vaccine safety or side effects. Just take a look at this vaccine. Misinformation has been out there ever since the first vaccines were made , and it is vaccines were made, and it is exactly that misinformed. And i exactly that misinformed. And i dont propose we give it any further airtime. Further airtime. Yeah. Okay. All right. It was also pretty big on pushing how effective the vaccines were when it came to stopping the transmission and the spread of covid 19. Actually, what the vaccines have done is they prevent it. Now, in total, since we got them 22 million cases of Covid Infection and 60,000 deaths. So , you know, thats truly massive. You know, he works for now. You know, he works for now. Any guesses . Vaccine any guesses . Vaccine manufacturer moderna , he is now manufacturer moderna, he is now reportedly a senior medical consultant there. Van tam was a consultant there. Van tam was a member of the vaccine task force, which the government said made decisions on quotes. All made decisions on quotes. All vaccine supply contracts and major investors in manufacturing clinical opportunities. The clinical opportunities. The government bought at least 17 million doses initially and said it was offered the jab to under 30. Now its important to say that Jonathan Van Tam hasnt broken any rules here, not at all. There is no indication that he was compromised in any way, shape or form, or that anything untoward has gone on. But i do just think it looks awful , just think it looks awful, doesnt it . Now, theres absolutely no indication whatsoever that anything untoward has happened, but it would be incredibly easy for anybody to claim that someone in his position helped to push a product and then went on and coined it in by working for that company, vai should be banned from working with Vaccine Companies in my view, it completely under undermines pubuc completely under undermines public trust. If there is a pandemic again or the need for a mass vaccination , the public mass vaccination, the public needs to know and have confidence in the fact that the person telling them to take that vaccine isnt going to end up working for the company who made the vaccine in a couple of years time. Well, look, what do you time. Well, look, what do you think . Do you agree . Do you disagree . Gb news gb views. Com or even gb at gb news. Take your pick. It will get through to us. Pick. It will get through to us. Either way, ill go to some of those reactions after the break. But my take but reacting to my take at ten on one journalist best on one journalist and best friend nina chekhov, historian david broadcast David Oldroyd bolton broadcast a housewifes favourites aidan magee. Nina, i will start with you. What you think about you. What do you think about that . Just looks you. What do you think about tibit just looks you. What do you think about tibit odd . Just looks a bit odd . It doesnt look good, but then other its then on the other hand, its part of the whole revolving door syndrome of, of the tory government. Theres about 170 government. Theres about 170 ministers and, and, and Public Servants who have gone on to take lucrative jobs in the area in which theyve theyve worked even sajid javid , who was an even sajid javid, who was an ex chancellor. Hes now got a consult, a financial consultancy. Gavin williamson, the worst education secretary in living memory. He has got some other memory. He has got some other job in the sort of the education area and to be fair, Jonathan Van Tam left his job as deputy chief of chief medical officer in england in march last year , in england in march last year, and he took up this position with moderna in may. So thats well over a year later. With moderna in may. So thats well over a year later. Yes. Well over a year later. Yes. Yeah, yeah. It is. Ill come. Ill come back. Ill come back to you. Nina i just want to bring david in now. I just feel as though it looks it looks bad. It looks looks it looks bad. It looks bad. And i think it undermines pubuc bad. And i think it undermines Public Confidence to me. It doesnt look as bad as it does to you. I think its perfectly reasonable , as nina perfectly reasonable, as nina said, was a said, that there was over a years between sir jonathan years gap between sir jonathan stepping position stepping down from his position in service and joining in the Civil Service and joining moderna as adviser. Hes also moderna as an adviser. Hes also working for his pro vice chancellor at the university of nottingham in his field of speciality. And i think field of speciality. And i think when you are working as sir jonathan such jonathan is in such a specialised field and when you have exposure since at the have had exposure since at the height of the Civil Service dunng height of the Civil Service during Something Like the pandemic, he is to going be natural that a company within that field seeks your advice and your counsel. And i think the intimation that there is something untoward about this. Well, i, i will tell you why. I will tell you why why i by the way, i dont actually think necessarily anything untoward going there be going on. I think there might be the right. Why the whiff of it. Right. And why people might think it is. Theres a stuff going on theres a lot of stuff going on at the moment about the oxycontin that america oxycontin problem that america has got, which is a form of opiate. Right. And it turned out that a lot of the people who helped to approve that particular found themselves particular drug found themselves then working for company then working for the company that it a couple of that produced it a couple of years the big years down the line. Big scandal, right now. Im not saying not anything saying thats not anything like whats im whats going on here, but im saying bad timing , given saying its bad timing, given that stuff coming saying its bad timing, given thatnow stuff coming saying its bad timing, given thatnow. Stuff coming saying its bad timing, given thatnow. And stuff coming saying its bad timing, given thatnow. And istuff coming saying its bad timing, given thatnow. And i dof coming saying its bad timing, given thatnow. And i do thinkyming saying its bad timing, given thatnow. And i do think that; out now. And i do think that there is aid do have a there is aid and i do have a problem with somebody working in the medical profession pushing a particular type of drug or vaccine. And then going and working for the company that that manufactures it. Maybe maybe its just me. Aidan yeah , maybe its just me. Aidan yeah, i agree. It doesnt look good. Im it doesnt look good. Im also agreeing with david next to me as well. I think that theres nothing untoward, said in nothing untoward, as you said in your monologue actually about this happening. This actually happening. It does happen areas public happen in other areas of public life weve seen over life as well. Weve seen it over the in football the years, see it in football quite a lot as well. Funnily enough, yeah, im enough, however, i yeah, im just associated with that just being associated with that vaccine as i mean, vaccine as well. I mean, i doubted the efficacy of it a couple dad couple of years ago. My dad had he , what, two days before he died, what, two days before he died, what, two days before he was due to have his second vaccine, weeks after hes vaccine, four weeks after hes had vaccine had the first, the first vaccine offered no offered him little or no protection. So i think theres a lot uncomfortable lot of people very uncomfortable with the vaccine with how successful the vaccine was place because was in the first place because it seemed to didnt seem stop it seemed to didnt seem to stop transmission of the disease passing on the disease one passing on the disease from one person well. Person to another. Very well. So being its being associated with it, its very difficult. Then very difficult. And then presumably on to take a presumably going on to take a job where going get job where youre going to get paid, know fairly paid, rewarded, you know fairly well. Thats just paid, rewarded, you know fairly well. Thats just think well. Thats i just dont think it well, lets get into it looks well, lets get into pubuc i it looks well, lets get into public i dont public or however, i dont think it many it was put in the how many people are actually pay people are actually going to Pay Attention not attention to it. Now, im not sure story thats big in sure its a story thats big in our im not sure its our world. Im not sure its bigger enough the clapham bigger big enough on the clapham omnibus. And arguably yeah, exactly. And arguably it one the problems. It might be one of the problems. Nina, you make a really good point revolving door point about the revolving door sajid going and working in sajid javid going and working in the would the city. Some people would argue, well, he worked there earlier there something argue, well, he worked there earlie|about1ere something argue, well, he worked there earlie|about someone thing argue, well, he worked there earlie|about someone thithe worse about someone in the medical profession doing it though . That though . Because i suppose that it could argued, has a well, it could be argued, has a well, literally a more bodily impact on people. Those decisions, do you worse than just you think is worse than just going and being another city . Bold going and being another city . Boli dont think so. And as i dont think so. And as david said, its the same area. David said, its the same area. So its a kind of natural if you like, progression to going from , um, from a government position to the commercial sector. But i mean, you wouldnt find him, you know, advise somebody, you wouldnt going into into football or working for arsenal or something. I like it if you did go and work fast, perfectly honestly. I mean, as a Manchester United fan, id be ecstatic if Jonathan Van Tam became arsenals manager. Would be arsenals manager. It would be great, actually. David do you not think, though, that the medical profession itself has some answer here . Some questions to answer here . Big trust is at trust is big pharma trust is at trust is at a low ebb, and some of the things out about them things that come out about them do to indicate that they do appear to indicate that they are willing to do whatever it takes to sell their product. Okay and i just feel as though maybe this undermines the trust even more. I just dont think its a good look from anyone. Well, big pharma as a group, they profit making they are profit making companies. They are out to maximise their profits and the revenues gain and that revenues that they gain and that they can pay to their shareholders. So of course shareholders. So of course theyre try anything theyre going to try anything theyre going to try anything they sell products. They can to sell their products. And many of these products will be governments and be sold to governments and health this is why you health services. This is why you need strong regulatory need a strong regulatory environment, which i believe that in this country we certainly have. And this is why certainly have. And this is why you disinterested , you need disinterested, impartial people to monitor the procurement of medicine. I dont think that necessarily there is the link here that seems to suggest sorry, but i think the next time ed the time next time, ed and the next time that is kind of that there is some kind of health to be health issue, i want to be really that bloke really confident that the bloke or yeah agree or woman that yeah i agree television is going Television Screen is not going to up working that lot to end up working for that lot in of years time. In a couple of years time. I agree. I agree. With and i know i agree with that. And i know weve no weve established theres no suggestion of wrongdoing here as well. Its well. But my concern and its only a nagging concern was that why for why why have they gone for jonathan they Jonathan Van Tam . Are they trying to buy some of trying to buy some kind of influence using influence there . Theyre using it. Obviously his it. They obviously using his expertise. Is expertise. But this is governmental expertise, isnt it . This is somebody who could influence governments. It . This is somebody who could influence in governments. It . This is somebody who could influence in the vernments. It . This is somebody who could influence in the system, its. It . This is somebody who could influence in the system, knows hes worked in the system, knows it you see, by the way, but you can see, by the way, why hire on paper. Why its a great hire on paper. I doubt about i mean, theres no doubt about that. Its an obvious hire. Im just whether or not just questioning whether or not actually questions to actually there are questions to be it. And be answered about it. And i think is worth a think it is worth a look. I think it is worth a look. I think worth just to think hes worth a look just to double check , im sure jonathan double check, im sure Jonathan Van Tam upstanding member van tam is an upstanding member of community, but it might of the community, but it might be having be just worth having another little fact that little look, given the fact that we these jabs we bought a load of these jabs as anyway in as well. But anyway, in tonights i tonights newsmaker, should i form a member of isis, the tory jihadi, be allowed to influence social media followers on and you couldnt make this up. Tick tock. Yeah, absolutely. Shes tock. Yeah, absolutely. Shes seen few people tick tock in seen a few people tick tock in her plus the her time doesnt she . Plus the front at 10 30 pm. Sharp. Front pages at 10 30 pm. Sharp. Dont you dare move radio. Its time now for the newsmaker in which a fearless commentator speaks out on the big stories of the day. And big stories of the day. And tonights newsmaker is writer for the spectator, an absolute fan favourite. Here on gb news fan favourite. Here on gb news is alexandra marshall. Now, is alexandra marshall. Now, thank you very much for joining me. Its the jihadi bride me. Its the first jihadi bride to be jailed for travelling to syria to join isis. Is rebranding herself okay . I mean, they all need a makeover, dont they . But the twee, obsessed british took to tiktok british mother took to tiktok this week to share her mindset on how to be motivated for success. But should she be allowed to influence people onune . Allowed to influence people online . Considering her history 7 online . Considering her history . Alexandra, what do you make of this . I mean, seriously, i said it before. Ill say it again. You know, if you hear jihadi you know, if you hear a jihadi bride going tiktok, you should probably it. Probably like it. I dont mind that shes on tiktok , but she should be on tiktok, but she should be on tiktok, but she should be on tiktok in the syrian desert, if were being perfectly honest. I were being perfectly honest. I mean, going to join a separatist terrorist state is one of those mistake that you should never be allowed back from if you allowed to come back from if you read comments, most citizens read the comments, most citizens agree that no one should be bringing back foreign state fighters. Now we call them isis bndes fighters. Now we call them isis brides. But thats a little bit disingenuous. These are adult women who knew what they were doing when they went and left their own country to fight against them. Foreign organisation that committed various crimes against humanity to and see that shes only served half sentence is even served half a sentence is even more an insult to the british more of an insult to the british public. And all of the people who and under who have lived and died under the terrorist regime of isis in the terrorist regime of isis in the and australia the first place. And australia had problem. Have had the same problem. We have all these hard working brits to come to our country and they they jobs they start they get jobs and they start families our government families and then our government sends at the same sends them packing at the same time bend over backwards to time they bend over backwards to repatriate these isis brides who are very sorry that , you know, are very sorry that, you know, theyre really, really sorry theyre really, really sorry they it. Now that their they did it. Now that their little organisation little terrorist organisation has apart, they would has fallen apart, they would never be coming home if isis had won the war. And that is a crucial thing to remember. And so to see someone on tiktok parading around while people died, you knew what they knew. What kind of message does it send . I mean, first and foremost, usual fashion tips foremost, a usual fashion tips before were a burka and before that were a burka and a kalashnikov. Its quite its kalashnikov. So its quite its quite a change. Right. But what kind does send kind of message does that send to you can go to another to people . You can go to another country to join a terrorist organisation whose state objective is to take over the world and still radical islam and kill every Single Person who doesnt believe it and have the black flag of isis hoisted over downing and then well downing street and then well let you come back. Well give you slap wrist, and you a slap on the wrist, and then let you go on tiktok then well let you go on tiktok and try and promote fashion brands to vulnerable young girls. I mean, just what message doesit girls. I mean, just what message does it send really , what it is, does it send really, what it is, its flawed in the reality that you can go and join these groups and nothing will happen to you if you really want to radicalise people, you dont spend fortunes on de radicalisation programs in jails. You show the rest of the world that if you leave to join these organisations, your future is literally sitting in a tent in a desert behind barbed wire. For the rest of your life. No matter how sorry you are. And that are far less that way kids are far less likely to be convinced by online propaganda if they know thats their future. If they see these fashion influencers coming back from and then from the desert and then parading in whatever parading around in whatever fashion , well, thats not fashion brand, well, thats not exactly going stop people exactly going to stop people from doing this in the future. From doing this in the future. No, its not at all. And she was the exact person that we should example of. Should be making an example of. Now, call me a cynic as well. Right. Call me a cynic. But shamima know, we Shamima Begum, you know, we first the first saw her there in the desert. Know, saying how she desert. You know, saying how she doesnt regret massively doesnt really regret massively joining. All she did was joining isis. All she did was joining isis. All she did was join isis. It wasnt the end of the world. I think it was a few weeks later when she realised that terrible go that was a terrible way to go about guru hold about it. Some pr guru got hold of went , put that of it and they went, put that lippy of it and they went, put that lippy on shamima where some jeans baseball cap on jeans and get a baseball cap on and bit of eyeshadow and everyone bit of eyeshadow thatll do a bit of eyeshadow. Thatll do a bit of eyeshadow. Yeah. Okay fine. Now look yeah. Okay fine. Now you look westernised know, is westernised. You know, this is just ruse , isnt it . I mean, just a ruse, isnt it . I mean, im but if the caliphate im sorry, but if the caliphate started up again, theyd all be back. Back over there. Yeah, and lets not pretend. Yeah, and lets not pretend. And that this is any kind of punishment and that theyre sorry. Theyre not sorry. This sorry. Theyre not sorry. This is a this is more of a case of being rebranded and almost convincing a new generation that its okay to join terrorists or organisations because nothing will happen to. You mean in the will happen to. You mean in the old days this was the ultimate crime, wasnt it . I mean, if you betrayed a foreign state, betrayed uk to a foreign state, that was pretty much it. You that was pretty much it. You were going have some fun in that was pretty much it. You wertownlg have some fun in that was pretty much it. You wertown squareive some fun in that was pretty much it. You wertown square lateryme fun in that was pretty much it. You wertown square lateryme asn in the town square later on as pubuc the town square later on as public you did public entertainment. If you did that definitely didnt that and you definitely didnt come back it. Dont know. Come back from it. I dont know. Think i think uk needs to think i think the uk needs to get little bit tougher on get a little bit tougher on its moral because what moral standards because what does this the rest of the does this tell the rest of the public . Remember this does this tell the rest of the publicsame remember this does this tell the rest of the publicsame uk remember this does this tell the rest of the public same uk that emember this does this tell the rest of the publicsame uk that sendsber this does this tell the rest of the publicsame uk that sends police; is the same uk that sends police dressed rainbows and glitters dressed in rainbows and glitters around to your door. If you like the tweet on facebook , the wrong tweet on facebook, right . So the publics going excuse me, how come terrorist excuse me, how come a terrorist is Wander Around is allowed to Wander Around free and fines for and im paying massive fines for thinking a joke was funny. And im paying massive fines for thinking a joke was funny. Mean thinking a joke was funny. Mean it fit. Its providing it doesnt fit. Its providing is incoherent. You know what . Is incoherent. You know what . You know what . Itll become cool. Im telling you. Im telling you, itll become cool. I. Look, i get that. Some i get. Look, i get that. Some people say and there is case people say and there is a case i dont think necessarily in this one, is a case to be one, but there is a case to be had for oh , sometimes hes had for oh, sometimes hes a vulnerable young people who are grown , groomed and taken over grown, groomed and taken over there. I mean i mean, grown, groomed and taken over there. I mean i mean, Shamima Begum was predicted to do very , begum was predicted to do very, very well at school, by the way. And i think , you know, she was. And i think, you know, she was she was fleeing tower hamlets. Was she . Although, to be fair, i think i probably flee it if i now cant say that. But i just want move on and talk a bit want to move on and talk a bit about the world cup. Right. Okay. Womens world cup, okay. The womens world cup, this sundays world cup, the womens final. Im sorry. Firstly, condolences of course, for the loss in the semis. Alexandra, im sure youve youve got over it, have you know, youve actually picked the one australian who cares very little about sport mean what the tennis. Tennis. Okay i, i watched that because Fernando Gonzalez used to really hot but as far as to be really hot but as far as soccer goes, i mean can take soccer goes, i mean i can take it it good stuff. It or leave it good stuff. I understand that completely. But Prince William has been criticised after stating that he will not be attending the final in australia this sunday. Now it comes because the fifa president , which he is, is concerned allegedly about the impact that flying would have on the environment for a short trip. Absolutely load of rubbish. Do you think . Rubbish. Do you think . Yeah. Well, i mean i might know nothing about sport, but i am one of the ambassadors for the constitutional monarchy. So you that is around point for that one. And i would say that he cant win this one. This is one of those catch 22 where if he comes to australia or he travels watch football, well, travels to watch football, well, hell be shouted down by all the republicans and all the lefties of climate criminal and wasting all the carbon credits and costing the taxpayer a fortune. Costing the taxpayer a fortune. If he doesnt come, people say, oh, you show oh, how dare you not show an interest which is by interest in sport which is by far lesser crime and the far the lesser crime and the pubuc far the lesser crime and the public forget about it. But public will forget about it. But remember , ill use tennis remember, ill use the tennis example. To be example. Its supposed to be about sport and the stars of about the sport and the stars of the sport who are there in the crowds, whos crowds, not about whos attending. No one remembers attending. No one remembers who was which celebrities. Was there, which celebrities. Its a five second grab. We its a five second news grab. We shouldnt really i dont understand its such a major understand why its such a major deal doesnt really deal that someone doesnt really want to go and fly around the world. Its a long way like world. Its a long way to like lets forget, its lets not forget, its a its a long way. Mean, very conflicted i mean, im very conflicted about i love about this because i love william the royal william and i love the royal family. Should family. I do think he should be going. Because he going. I think mainly because he opens himself up for lot of opens himself up for a lot of criticism. If doesnt and criticism. If he doesnt go and needless just very needless criticism just very quickly. Ive got you the quickly. Well, ive got you the real i wondered if he real reason why i wondered if he wasnt going was because there appears to be a growing Republican Movement in australia. Wonder australia. And i just wonder if someones advised him and said you booed or to be you might get booed or to be fair, every time they ask the pubuc fair, every time they ask the public about republicanism, the pubuc public about republicanism, the public says no thanks, wed rather keep the monarchy than let you politicians the let you politicians rule the roost you guys are roost because you guys are totally roost because you guys are totilly roost because you guys are lolii think its more to do with i think its more to do with the growing climate cult which is this great grip of is still in this great grip of psychosis, where you cant have him leading this Global Climate movement and saying, you know, if peasants have cars , well, if peasants have cars, well, then youre in big trouble and then youre in big trouble and then hop on private jets every afternoon. Saw how that ended afternoon. We saw how that ended for his wife. It for his brother and his wife. It didnt end very well. Plays didnt end very well. It plays particularly bad in the public, especially cost of especially with the cost of living have living crisis growing. I have a feeling that hes probably leaned onto the correct side of that debate as depressing, though, isnt it . Though, isnt it . You know, you might be right, but but its just so depressing, isnt it, that we live in a world where youve got they have to lie in it. No one this to them. They no one did this to them. They did to themselves by running did it to themselves by running this narrative and they this narrative. And so now they have private jets have to be like private jets about true. Have to be like private jets aboyou true. Have to be like private jets aboyou turnje. Have to be like private jets aboyou turn up at 26, you you turn up at cop 26, you start waxing lyrical about all of this stuff and you back yourself into a big kale filled corner. Alexandra marshall, corner. Alexandra marshall, thank you very , very much. Great thank you very, very much. Great to have you on the show. A to have you on the show. But thats going be bringing once more going to be bringing once more some higher temperatures at times. So mid some higher temperatures at times. So mid 20s possible in the southeast, turning even warmer in the south through next week changeable the week, staying changeable in the north. A brighter outlook with boxt solar proud sponsors of weather on radio. Good evening. Wonderful people. Now, earlier this people. Now, earlier this evening, we asked you on twitter, should a former member of isis dubbed the town jihadi be allowed to influence social media followers . The results are in. Its not a shock. 93. 7 of you said no , whilst 6. 3 of you you said no, whilst 6. 3 of you said yes. I would like to meet the 6. 3 of you that said yes , i the 6. 3 of you that said yes, i think. But it is of course just after 10 38 pm. So a time now to look at tomorrow mornings newspapers. Hot off the press. Ive got them here. Well rattle through them and then well discuss it with my so discuss it with my panel. So well go in with the independent. Got guilty independent. Weve got guilty nurse murdered seven babies. Nurse who murdered seven babies. Its, lucy letby just its, of course, lucy letby just at as though at the top of it as well, though. Its the cup final. Just. Its the World Cup Final. Just one go. The lionesses one day to go. The lionesses manager, Sarina Wiegman is quoted. Everyones talking about 1966. Talking about the 1966. Stop talking about the result. We know what we want. Interesting. The i papers got a couple ones here. Were child serial killer in modern uk history. Dare to dream they say about the lionesses but the one im interested in here is just tucked away on the right hand side. The return of tony blair revealed how pms think tank has growing influence on labour policy. We will be talking about that and whizzing you over to the Daily Telegraph now. Nhs ignored warnings that left nurse free to kill again. Thats lucy letby and it is delving into some of the criticism about the fact that the nhs trusts were warned about letby they chose not to act. They pushed it to one side. Babies died. One side. Babies died. Terrifying stuff. A couple of other little ones at the bottom here. Pension scheme in booster hunts plans. British museum boss quits over gem thefts. More on the lionesses and were going to go over to the mirror now, the daily mirror. Weve got britains worst baby killer. Theres theme here theres obviously a theme here and i understand exactly and i can understand exactly why. Story. More on why. A shocking story. More on lucy go on the lucy letby. Lets go on to the guardian worst child guardian, britains worst child serial killer nurse guilty of seven murders. Also tried to kill six more babies. They say theres a bit on the environment. Their annual National Health check for englands ward is delayed by six years. Water pollution i dont think gets enough media time in this story, actually. I think its quite an unsexy story. Talking about poo in the sea, but rivers but it does affect all of us and it is absolutely grim. The daily express murdered babies should have saved babies should have been saved yet , echoing that theme or yet again, echoing that theme or just a couple just with you through a couple more well get stuck more and then well get stuck into , cold, into this. The times, a cold, calculating theyve used calculating killer theyve used lucy letby mug shot there and it is just such a perplexing case, isnt it . It just shows you just you just dont you just cant tell by looking at someone, can you . The daily star lionesses win on penalties. Theres an win on penalties. Theres an asterix is the star. Theres always catch. So says the always a catch. So says the worlds only asparagus sidekick who correctly predicted brexit, the queens death and those pubuchy the queens death and those publicity shy waistcoats quitting as royals. Ive got some skin in the game when it comes to mystic veg , as shes comes to mystic veg, as shes been called. She uses asparagus to predict results. I had her on a show i used to do here called friday night feast and got her to predict the tory leadership it with you. Youre on it with me it wrong. So take me and she got it wrong. So take that pinch of salt. That with a pinch of salt. By the start. The way. Look, well start. Well well start whats well look, well start whats on front most them to on the front of most of them to be perfectly honest with you, i mean, warnings mean, nhs ignored warnings that left nurse free to kill again. Nina this this our field nina this is. This is our field is be the second is going to be the second scandal, how this scandal, isnt it . How was this allowed happen . Allowed to happen . Absolutely. Because could absolutely. Because it could have should have been stopped. It should have been stopped. It should have been stopped. It should have been with a number have been stopped with a number of were, you have been stopped with a number of these were, you have been stopped with a number of these are were, you have been stopped with a number of these are people ere, you have been stopped with a number of these are people at, you have been stopped with a number of these are people at theu know, these are people at the top of their game, people who care about life, who spend their lives devoted to saving other lives devoted to saving other lives and to saving babies. And if the hospital doesnt have trust in them, if it was , it was trust in them, if it was, it was only been one whistleblower, but it wasnt. It was like seven, it wasnt. It was like seven, nine of them. It was enough, wasnt it . More than enough . More than enough . More than enough . Absolutely. And its quite shocking that an organised nafion shocking that an organised nation can somehow be just sort of seduced into glossing over. You would have thought that if there was any chance whatsoever , ever, any chance whatsoever, ever, any chance whatsoever, ever, any chance whatsoever, that a member of your staff was killing babies , your staff was killing babies, your staff was killing babies, you would do every single thing. The environment is obviously not not conducive for whistleblowers to come forward. Thats the bottom line here. If theyre not feeling comfortable, theyre not feeling comfortable, they come report they can come forward, report even important to even something as important to this, then something is seriously its seriously wrong and its resulted tragic outcome in resulted in a tragic outcome in this this example. Resulted in a tragic outcome in thisit this example. Resulted in a tragic outcome in thisit makes example. Resulted in a tragic outcome in thisit makes you mple. Resulted in a tragic outcome in thisit makes you wonder, doesnt it makes you wonder, doesnt it, how many more cases . Oh, this is an extreme one, but what else is going on . If people say same the if people say same was the same about beverley same was said about Beverley Allitt was allitt back in 1993. That was slightly different. She was injecting bags with with injecting saline bags with with insulin , so it was killing them insulin, so it was killing them insulin, so it was killing them in a different way. But even so, insulin, so it was killing them in a are rent way. But even so, insulin, so it was killing them in a are people 1. But even so, insulin, so it was killing them in a are people whot even so, insulin, so it was killing them in a are people whot eve should there are people who who should have danger have been alive to the danger at the time. P p. Yeah, david, im to going im going on. Look, yeah, david, im to going im going done on. Look, yeah, david, im to going im going done a on. Look, yeah, david, im to going im going done a lot on. Look, yeah, david, im to going im going done a lot cthis. Ok, weve done a lot on this. You letby kind knows the letby everyone kind of knows the story by now, and it is absolutely it . Absolutely bleak, isnt it . Were a lot were going to be hearing a lot more shes more about it because shes getting so getting sentenced on monday, so ill moment, ill park that for the moment, if right, david. If thats all right, david. Theres on front theres one on the on the front of know of the eye here, which i know piqued the return piqued your interest. The return of blair revealed how pms of tony blair revealed how pms think tank has growing influence on labour policy. Well, this is the Tony Blair Institute for government, which institute for government, which i think most people may be vaguely aware of. This is a huge organisation employing 800 people across the world. It has offices in new york, london, abu dhabi, paris, accra, singapore. Dhabi, paris, accra, singapore. Some of these people paid up to half 1 million a year, though it must be said, mr blair does not sir tony does not himself sorry sir tony does not himself sorry sir tony does not a salary stuck in your not take a salary stuck in your throat. Yes, it rather does. Knights of the garter. The point is that blair has now, for many , many years been using the contacts he made while Prime Minister from 1997 until two thousand and seven to the making cells very rich. He has been doing this consistently with the Saudi Arabian kingdom, which some might say brings certain moral quandaries, but then he doesnt seem to be a man troubled by moral quandaries. Hes advising the current hes been advising the current government, the conservative government they dont have any moral quandanes they dont have any moral quandaries about saudi arabia at the moment either. Do that. The well, thats on the particular iran and particular question of iran and israel. That have particular question of iran and isnuclear that have particular question of iran and isNuclear Power that have particular question of iran and is Nuclear Power next have particular question of iran and is Nuclear Power next door, have a Nuclear Power next door, thats likely to go bonkers at any rather on any time, i think its rather on National Security grounds. You would you would you would you would you how would you feel about the return of tony blair . Tony is obviously well, tony blair is obviously not theres not going to return. Theres absolutely not going to return. Theres absolitalks about returning to it talks about returning to front line politics, though recently he had. No way that but theres no way that thats going to happen. But the thing , the labour looks thats going to happen. But the thihim , the labour looks thats going to happen. But the thihim and|e labour looks thats going to happen. But the thihim and|e lwasrr looks thats going to happen. But the thihim and|e lwas the looks thats going to happen. But the thihim and|e lwas the most oks at him and he was the most successful labour politician. Successful labour politician. So needless to say, by the time i think by the time of the next election , nobody in the next election, nobody in the labour party will have won an election outside of tony blair in 50 years. In 50 years, absolutely astonishing. Want to know what the so they want to know what the secret apart from secret is. The apart from anything else he has, whether anything else he he has, whether you it or charisma and you like it or not, charisma and sadly and sadly, keir starmer does thats one thing does not. Thats the one thing he so the in in he is lacking. So the in in consulting tony blair, theres the theres the hope that some of that will rub off on starmer. Absolutely. Is that a hope thats an absolute fear for me because starmer has absolutely no set of coherent principles, it seems, whereas tony blairs principles of government and politics are extremely well worked out. And so would , it seems to me from so it would, it seems to me from the latest reporting, be another blair government. Blair government. But with you have . But with what do you have . Cameron back, david . Absolutely not. No no. No, absolutely not. No no. I think much better off think hes much better off employed hes doing, think hes much better off emplois d hes doing, think hes much better off emplois raising hes doing, think hes much better off emplois raising a hes doing, think hes much better off emplois raising a greatdoing, think hes much better off emplois raising a great deal, think hes much better off emplois raising a great deal of which is raising a great deal of money for medical research into parkinsons alzheimers. Money for medical research into parkinso much alzheimers. Money for medical research into parkinso much betteraimers. Money for medical research into parkinso much better useers. Money for medical research into parkinso much better use of. Money for medical research into parkinso much better use of his thats a much better use of his time. Hes not doing greensill anymore. He ever did do i dont think he ever did do greensill. A point. Greensill. That was a point. Just i think theres just on blair, i think theres a huge nervousness labour just on blair, i think theres a huge thatousness labour just on blair, i think theres a huge that theyre labour just on blair, i think theres a huge that theyre looking abour party that theyre looking unassailable right now or the opinion polls putting well opinion polls putting them well ahead on course for victory ahead and on course for victory next theres that next time. But theres that nagging next time. But theres that nagg ori next time. But theres that nagg or over again. Youre going 1992 or over again. Youre going to that that election late to that into that election late april 1992, april the april 1992, i think april the 12th, april the ninth, Something Like then a like that. And then theres a sheffield Kinnock Sheffield rally. Neil kinnock gives speech three gives that rousing speech three days all actual days before the were all actual ballot right. Ballot. Yeah, were all right. That nonsense. Didnt that kind of nonsense. It didnt play that kind of nonsense. It didnt play public play out well with the public and shot themselves foot. I foot. | foot. I that. I i think they know that. I think theyre terrified of that actually. Theyre very, very because actually. Tiisyre very, very because actually. Tiis actually very because actually. Tiis actually there ecause actually. Tiis actually there is. Ause there is actually there is. I mean, the lead is big at the moment for the labour party. And as far i can tell, rishi as far as i can tell, rishi sunak that to sunak isnt doing that much to change the managing decline. , well, exactly. Yeah, well, exactly. Yeah, well, exactly. But actually there is just about enough time for things to change. Something happens. Change. If something happens. Its not beyond the realms of possibility something could happen. A sudden labour going all of a sudden labour going to can to make history. They can make history. Anyone history. I dont think anyone has lost that kind of lead, that kind of parliament. Annoying amount kind of parliament. Labour|nnoying amount kind of parliament. Labour now, ng amount kind of parliament. Labour now, this mount kind of parliament. Labour now, this m the of time. Labour now, this is the thing annoying of time. Labour now, this is the thing of annoying of time. Labour now, this is the thing of time annoying of time. Labour now, this is the thing of time because loying of time. Labour now, this is the thing of time because theyve amount of time because theyve really probably wanting really probably been wanting an election period election for quite a long period of really call of time. They cant really call what what what they cant call what anytime going anytime soon. Theyre not going to soon. To get one anytime soon. So really could only really it could it could only get worse labour in a way. Get worse for labour in a way. Well, exactly. And as headline economic figures the likelihood figures improve the likelihood of winning of labour winning such a crushing think crushing majority i think decreases people think decreases because people think in that seem to be in times that seem to be improving, well, better the devil you know, and this governments brought through governments brought us through it. To it. I think theyd be wrong to think because think that. By the way, because its with its got nothing to do with the conservative economic conservative partys economic stewardship. Be stewardship. But that will be the that a great many the judgement that a great many people the judgement that a great many peojust one. Now were just a quick one. Now were going to on another going to move it to on another story the of story thats on the front of actually most of the papers. Its the lionesses im its about the lionesses im going save mystic for the going to save mystic veg for the second paper second half of this paper roundup. Because roundup. By the way, because i want to the want to hold her feet to the fire, but bring it home is doing the rounds. Dare to dream. Weve also got as well on the front of the independent. I believe it is somewhere there. We are about three living men saying dont compare us to 1966. This is this is our own thing. Nina, do you think its time for the women to is our own thing. Nina, do you think outtime for the women to is our own thing. Nina, do you think out of|e for the women to is our own thing. Nina, do you think out of their the women to is our own thing. Nina, do you think out of the mens omen to is our own thing. Nina, do you think out of the mens shadow is our own thing. Nina, do you think out of the mens shadow . Come out of the mens shadow . And the well, absolutely. And the fact is that theyve theyve theyre way ahead of them because , you know, 1966, how because, you know, 1966, how long ago is that , for gods long ago is that, for gods sake . So the men have not equalled what theyve done. Thank you. So very, very long. Its a very long time ago. And so and so apart from one little one misdemeanour, which i which i thoroughly thought was thoroughly reprehensible. Was it lauren somebody she. Oh yeah. That she let herself down. She let the women final and. Well, maybe. But she , you know, she maybe. But she, you know, she shouldnt have done that. She shouldnt have done that. She should not have done that. Aiden Sarina Wiegman aiden is Sarina Wiegman a better than Gareth Southgate . No, not necessarily. I mean, no, not necessarily. I mean, you dont. You dont really know. Shes not been you dont. You dont really know. To shes not been you dont. You dont really know. To the shes not been you dont. You dont really know. To the fulles not been you dont. You dont really know. To the full fourot been you dont. You dont really know. To the full four levels. Tested to the full four levels. Queen has queen of england. She has to go into game, the into the mens game, managed the elite level of her. First should be the first one though. Do you think someone would i think lawrie would do i say i think lawrie sanchez, the former fa cup winner in sanchez, the former fa cup winne he in sanchez, the former fa cup winne he said in sanchez, the former fa cup winne he said about in sanchez, the former fa cup winne he said about 15 in sanchez, the former fa cup winne he said about 15 years in sanchez, the former fa cup winne he said about 15 years ago 1988, he said about 15 years ago that even its only for that even if its only for commercial alone, commercial reasons alone, someone will go for a female coach. That was 15 years ago when the female female football wasnt. Or womens football in this country wasnt as developed as i were as it is now. I think were closer now, no closer to that. Mark now, and no question green question about it, forest green rovers female caretaker rovers named a female caretaker manager at the end of last season. Shed done if she won season. If shed done if she won a couple games, think a couple of games, i think she might got the might she might have got the job. Wasnt job. She wasnt certainly wasnt far off. T wm no, she certainly wasnt. Do you think that thats a sign of tokenism know, you think that thats a sign of tokeidea know, you think that thats a sign of tokeidea that know, you think that thats a sign of tokeidea that for know, you think that thats a sign of tokeidea that for commercialnow, this idea that for commercial reasons, this is actually one of the thing tokenism in football. There really isnt because youve get so youve got to get results. So but so the same, the same the same fate. Wilberforce, sarina same fate. Wilberforce, Sarina Wiegman if she goes into the mens six mens game, if she loses six games shell out. Games in a row, shell be out. What . Im really you know what . Im really surprised. Im really surprised. You know, im really surprised. You know, im really surprised game surprised about the mens game is any top is that there arent any top flight, football , flight, openly gay football, because i think that that is a market dream. I would have thought if you were gay and you were footballer were a premier League Footballer and youve rainbow and youve got the rainbow armbands and youve armbands everywhere and youve got signalling world got a virtue signalling world and youve got, you know, anti homophobia campaign. Homophobia campaign. But someone, someone but then someone, someone from waves from saudi comes along and waves a front of you and a big cheque in front of you and theres that problem. Well, understand yeah. No, well, i understand that. Understand but that. I do understand that. But i think that somebody stands to make heck of a lot of money make a heck of a lot of money by being the first openly gay premier footballer. And i premier League Footballer. And i cant that, why cant understand why that, why theyre necessarily coming out. Maybe were not know who they are. No, i never heard any no, no, i never heard any allegations. No, no, i never heard any allegations. Im not sure no, no, i never heard any allegations. Im not sure they allegations. Im not sure they even exist. You dont. You honestly dont. You honestly dont think that gay that there are any Gay Premier League averages . League the law of averages . No , of average. No, of average. No, of average. But its in certain yeah, but its in certain areas. It doesnt. Areas. Maybe it doesnt. It doesnt equal spread areas. Maybe it doesnt. It doesn the equal spread areas. Maybe it doesnt. It doesn the whole equal spread areas. Maybe it doesnt. It doesnthe whole equemightad across the whole people might have but have said that about rugby but given openly given that there are no openly gay players, dont think gay rugby players, i dont think that that holds true, that traditionally masculine things couldnt ever have homosexual parties. All parties. But i think we all remember that when there was an openly gay footballer or at least footballer who was outed least a footballer who was outed and tragedy of that, i think and the tragedy of that, i think possibly memory. And the tragedy of that, i think possibljthat memory. And the tragedy of that, i think possibljthat memoryzmory. And the tragedy of that, i think possibljthat memory holds back exactly that memory holds back anybody from taking that step. And i think there is as as we know, a degree of great hypocrisy here when the checks are that big and when so many of the Eastern Countries now the middle Eastern Countries now want to host tournaments, are you out when you you going to come out when you could actually have a larger pay day not . Day by not . Isnt it . Isnt it . Absolutely, daniel jack daniel for daniel came out last year for blackpool reserve blackpool, the reserve team player in player whos now playing in non league the that non league and the fuss that caused when he came out. Why in this day and age i find it. I do. I do. I do the media felt they would do it they were doing their by media felt their job by or the media felt they doing favour by they were doing him a favour by highlighting really highlighting it. But really i think future highlighting it. But really i thin players future highlighting it. But really i thin players coming re highlighting it. But really i thin players coming out highlighting it. But really i thinplayers coming out. Gay players from coming out. Yeah, its interesting. But again, to have and again, i have to have a look and say, actually if it is the again, i have to have a look and say, that actually if it is the again, i have to have a look and say, that the jally if it is the again, i have to have a look and say, that the saudif it is the again, i have to have a look and say, that the saudi football case that the Saudi Football League the tracks league is waving the tracks around, about around, what does that say about male football fans . Around, what does that say about male footdoesfans . Around, what does that say about male footdoes that around, what does that say about male footdoes that say about society . Well, theres no i dont know what it says more about the sponsorship and the degree. Commercially involved. I mean , i think what i was i mean, i think what i was are we being held back by a fundamentalist religious group of nations with a lot of money and we couldnt bother we couldnt possibly and we couldnt bother we couldnt up possibly and we couldnt bother we couldnt up , possibly and we couldnt bother we couldnt up , could ossibly and we couldnt bother we couldnt up, could we . Bly wind them up, could we . People staying wind them up, could we . The people staying wind them up, could we . The closet people staying wind them up, could we . The closet. People staying wind them up, could we . The closet. Iaople staying wind them up, could we . The closet. I dont staying wind them up, could we . The closet. I dont know. |ying in the closet. I dont know. Anyway, i will have more anyway, right. I will have more from the daily mail. I think im missing the sun as well. Yes, the sun. So two more from pages for come and for you. When i come back. And tonights headline , heroes tonights headline, heroes and back. Ive seen a back page zeros. Ive seen a tick welcome back. Straight in now with the daily mail. Actually, this is the latest front page has dropped hot off the has just dropped hot off the press. So they had ten chances to stop this is the latest to stop her. This is the latest on lucy letby, britains worst child killer as neonatal nurse is convicted of murdering seven babies. The Police Review care of 4000 more. It really is the kind of case that you feel is going to get worse. This actually. But the topic that actually. But the topic that i want to talk about is on this now with my panel. Want to talk about is on this now with my panel. Nina, want to talk about is on this now with my panel. Nina, when now with my panel. Nina, when you when you look at lucy letby there, you think if indeed this really is the face of a cold blooded , heinous child killer, blooded, heinous child killer, she should be dragged to the dock to hear her sentencing. She should have been dragged to the dock for the verdict today, shouldnt she . Have think she should have been. I think anybody who is convicted of a crime should be there for their for the verdict, because that is the whole point. How on earth can people move forward until they see that that justice is being done and you have to you have to be made to face up to your your your your criminal actions. Youve got to sit there. And if they have to, you know , carry her up or put her in know, carry her up or put her in a wheelchair, she should be there. The argument against it, david, be she david, would be that if she turned up and then caused a massive scene , that that could massive scene, that that could be more damaging for the families, possibly. Families, possibly. But i think ninas point, which is a very important principle law , that principle of english law, that justice only be done, justice must not only be done, but to be done. Justice but be seen to be done. Justice must transacted is must be transacted in public, is the overriding thing. She should have there, of course have been there, of course i wouldnt for a moment suggest that this was out of any common decency because this clearly decency because this is clearly the appalling and heinous, the most appalling and heinous, enormous degree of evil that we cant really comprehend it. But she should have been made to be there and as for the families, i would your point would i do understand your point there be the there could also be the possibility demonstrate and possibility of demonstrate and writing outside. But this writing outside. Yes. But this is this is something that im afraid of democratic afraid is part of the democratic process being seen in process of justice being seen in public. Police must public. And the police must therefore deal it as part therefore deal with it as part of why is it of theirjob. Why is it is it decided on a case by case basis . Because obviously, we see because obviously, we do see she she you can refuse. She she you can refuse. Can refuse. Oh, yeah, you can refuse. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. So, so, so. But you can refuse in the judge refuse and in fact the judge said unfortunate. Theres said today, unfortunate. Theres nothing powers they nothing within their powers they cant mean an cant do anything. I mean an alternative. Would you, cant do anything. I mean an alterwould would you, cant do anything. I mean an alterwould in would you, cant do anything. I mean an alterwould in herould you, cant do anything. I mean an alterwould in her position,. Why would you in her position, why would you in her position, why up why would you in her position, waou up why would you in her position, waou can up why would you in her position, waou can if up why would you in her position, waou can if youve up why would you in her position, waou can if youve got up why would you in her position, waou can if youve got the up if you can if youve got the choice well shes choice i dont get. Well shes in so shes in the cells. Right. So shes in the came up for two the cell. She came up for two rounds of verdicts being read because charges because it was so many charges and they couldnt them all and they couldnt reach them all in did. The in one go. So they did. The first she turned up to first one she turned up to and they guilty x they said, youre guilty of x amount she rocked amount of counts. And she rocked up and she did to amount of counts. And she rocked up second and she did to amount of counts. And she rocked up second one. She did to amount of counts. And she rocked up second one. Then she did to amount of counts. And she rocked up second one. Then she didnt the second one. Then she didnt today. It, the second one. Then she didnt todewont it, the second one. Then she didnt todewont be it, the second one. Then she didnt todewont be for it, the second one. Then she didnt todewont be for sentencing she wont be for the sentencing. I think very least,. I think at the very least, they a camera they should put a camera in the cell. I i think cell. I think i think i think people need need to see the moment that somebody senses that the moment that she is the verdict. I know, and particularly for sentencing, i think you owe it to the court and to your victims to the court and to your victims to be there in person. And the Justice System owes it to those victims. Cowardice, i think, to. Cowardice, i think, to. Well , to bring to court and well, to bring to court and to bring to full justice those who commit such appalling crimes. You wont be on the fence about this. Dont you . You wont be on the fence abo little s. Dont you . You wont be on the fence abo little bit, nt you . You wont be on the fence abo little bit, yeah. Yu . You wont be on the fence abolittle bit, yeah. I . You wont be on the fence abolittle bit, yeah. I mean, little bit, yeah. I mean, i just dont every time ive seen that delivery justice, most that delivery of justice, most of the time these people are sociopaths and theyre almost unmoved. I cant any unmoved. I cant see any pleasure from or any kind of justice being being kind of seen by the in a way. But i by the viewer in a way. But i mean that, do if mean, having said that, i do if i mean, having said that, i do if | , mean, having said that, i do if i , id like them i was, id like to see them rather than. Yeah, given i suppose the vain hope is that when you when you watch somebody listen to the to the verdict that it will somehow strike home to them. Somehow strike home to them. You want it to strike home. You want them to know what they have done. I think youre hoping beyond hope of time. Mean, hope a lot of the time. I mean, aidan court aidan is right. Its a court quite a few times. And seeing the handed down, the verdicts handed down, although anything although not for anything serious, say. Serious, is this. I must say. And actually, a lot of time and actually, a lot of the time you dont that you dont you dont get that that maybe that emotion that maybe, maybe youre hoping for. Well, look, it is time now for headline heroes and back page zero. So get yourselves ready. Im going get yourselves ready. Im going to start now with mike, starting with heroes. I think. Yes, i am. Im starting with heroes and im starting with nina, whos your headune starting with nina, whos your headline hero . Nina Michael Parkinson , nina Michael Parkinson, because his death the other day made us remember how brilliant he was and how much joy and pleasure that he gave to all of us.
