“I thought about making masks,” she said. “But I don’t sew much anymore.”
Instead, she and her family decided to sponsor a free Christmas shopping experience for children where they can pick out gifts for parents, grandparents, brothers or sisters.
The event will take place on today from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 2131 Shadwell Court, Gastonia, in the Jefferson Woods neighborhood.
“I know this is a frustrating time for children,” Jones said, “with having to wear masks, practice social distancing, and following different schedules for school. I want to do something that will be fun.”
Jones said all the gifts that will be available are new or gently used and all have been cleaned with disinfectant.
