Gaston Gazette wins six state press awards
The Gazette competes each year against similar-sized daily newspapers from across the state.
Official announcement of the awards came during a "virtual" banquet hosted Friday due to the ongoing restrictions against large gatherings made necessary by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The Gazette's newsroom were honored for the excellence of their work, as was a former staff member.
"I am proud of the work our news team has done to capture these awards," said Gazette Managing Editor Kevin, "especially in what has been a very difficult year for the newspaper industry."
