The CEO of the Indian Gas Exchange believes that the drop in gas prices this year will encourage industrial users in India to switch from dirtier fossil fuels. The exchange expects trading volumes to increase due to the availability of cheaper supplies. The exchange is also planning to offer longer-duration contracts to help buyers access gas at set prices. India aims to increase the share of gas in its energy mix to 15% by the end of the decade. The exchange trades spot LNG and gas from Indian deep water fields.
