Ammonia gas leak at the plant leaves 12 workers hospitalised
Two officers of the Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) died in Uttar Pradesh when ammonia gas leaked at the Phulpur-based IFFCO plant and at least 12 others had to be hospitalised.
The deceased include assistant manager VP Singh and deputy manager Abhyanandan. The accident occurred around Tuesday midnight.
"The accident took place in a urea processing unit. An ammonia plunger broke which led to the leakage of ammonia gas.
