A Garland wastewater treatment plant received a “Plant of the Year” award from the Water Environment Association of Texas. The award is given to municipal wastewater treatment plants for “outstanding performance,” according to a city announcement.
Duck Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant sits just below Lake Ray Hubbard. Treated effluent water from the plant travels east to Duck Creek, meeting the Trinity River at its east fork and eventually releases into the Gulf of Mexico.
