Garda who faced jail before being cleared of assaulting Dublin Bus driver tells of ‘nightmare two years’

A GARDA who faced jail before he was cleared of assaulting and holding a Dublin Bus driver against his will said last night: “I’ve been in a nightmare for two years.”
Relieved Noel Gibbons — who has also appeared as a presenter on RTE’s Crimecall — made the claim after he walked free from Dublin District Court last Friday.

The charges were dismissed against the garda
The garda had been charged by the Garda Siochana Ombudsman ­Commissioner with section two assault, false imprisonment and providing false information.
