The New Jersey Devils will be on the road to end their 2021 season. Tonight, they will be at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum for the next-to-last-time. The New York Islanders have turned it into Fort Neverlose 2.0 and have a lot to play for. Especially as they dropped two games in Buffalo of all places. Here goes something.

I am sure the Isles faithful will love Belmont in time, but I can understand that Uniondale is where the heart is right now and it will beat real loudly tonight and on Saturday night. Needless to say, it has been an extreme exercise of patience for the older Isles fans who may remember plans for a new arena beginning in the early 1990s and all of the back and forth that yielded and worries about the team moving and the whole ownership debacle. In honor of that patience is a song that is all about crossroads, the future, and why you do not need to rush through life by Long Island’s most known musician, Billy Joel. From the classic album
