Honor Flight Syracuse traditionally takes military veterans from central New York to Washington, D.C., in early May. For the second year in a row, however, the flight has been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Wishing to celebrate its veterans any way it could, The Commons on St. Anthony in Auburn organized a drive-by Honor Flight parade Wednesday, May 5.
Veterans in attendance included Bill Clark (Army), Isaac Jolly (Air Force), Wilson Long (Marines), Vern Morris (Marines), Richard Nares (Air Force), Robert Pfohl (Army), Ted Siminski (Navy) and Stephen Stomps (Army), who also sang âAmerica the Beautiful" that day.
