SMITHFIELD – Gallagher Middle School has been designated as a “No Place for Hate” school this year by the Anti-Defamation League for its actions and work focused on equity, said Vice Principal John Burns.
Since last summer, the school has focused on taking the next step toward the No Hate initiative as a whole school, including creating a coalition of students, family and faculty to run activities.
Gallagher hosted numerous activities throughout the year based on inclusion, bias and equity, teaching students procedures and processes through school-wide activities.
The Anti-Defamation League identified Gallagher along with other schools nationwide as a banner “No Place for Hate” school in recognition of its work over the last year.
