A Gainesville man pulled over a week ago for a traffic violation on Athens Highway is in jail with no bond after officers found about $500,000 worth of methamphetamine inside his pickup truck.
Hall County Sheriff's Office spokesman Derreck Booth said three law enforcement agencies were involved with the investigation and arrest of Adan Randin-Marban, 33, of Gainesville.
Booth said Randin-Marban first caught the attention of troopers with the Georgia State Patrol.
"It's my understanding that they conducted a traffic stop on a pickup truck, and it was on Athens Highway in the area of Barrett Road on Friday afternoon, January 15," Booth said. "GSP through its investigation then contacted the Gainesville Police Department for assistance with one of its K9 units and when they got there, the K9 alerted to the presence of illegal drugs."
