The sudden non-COVID-19 death of Hi-Berry Farm’s Mexican seasonal worker Jose Antonio Coronado, 42, in Port Elgin last month is fuelling a GoFundMe campaign that generated $15,768 in donations for his family in its first 24 hours.
Coronado, sole support for an extended family of eight, died unexpectedly of natural causes April 21 in Port Elgin, two days short of the end of a mandatory two-week quarantine period before starting work at Hi-Berry Farm for his sixth season.
