Fabrice Leggeri, executive director of the European Border and Coast Guard Agency Frontex, is visiting Lithuania on Monday.
He is scheduled to see Lithuania's border with Belarus amid an unprecedented movement of irregular migrants.
In Vilnius, Leggeri will meet with Lithuanian Interior Minister Agnė Bilotaitė and the chief of Lithuania's State Border Guard Service (VSAT), Rustamas Liubajevas.
Leggeri is also set to visit one of the VSAT units.
Frontex plans to send 60 patrol officers, translators and interpreters as well as patrol cars and helicopters in response to Lithuania's request.
