From healthcare to welding, virtual event lets Kalamazoo-area students explore career options

KALAMAZOO COUNTY, MI -- From healthcare to welding to engineering, the MiCareerQuest Southwest career discovery event had something for every student.
The annual event, which was held virtually Wednesday, May 12, introduces local eighth-grade students to a variety of job opportunities and industry experts to help guide them toward their future careers.
The virtual event was open to students from school districts across the region, according to a news release from the Kalamazoo Regional Educational Service Agency. A grant from Stryker Corp. allowed the event to continue virtually amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the release said.
