FREEPORT — A proposed housing development for older residents is moving forward in the approval process.
Developers plan is to build 16 duplex townhomes near Krape Park on 6.2 acres that previously was a home site but is now vacant.
Park Partners LLC has submitted its plan to the city of Freeport. Todd Weegens, who was previously with Fehr Graham before retiring, Steve Chesney of Seaga Manufacturing in Freeport and William Huels of Arlington Heights are the principals in Park Partners, according to the Illinois Secretary of State's Office.
They propose building townhomes at the corner of Park Boulevard and Demeter Drive near the entrance to Krape Park. The site was the location of Chesney's home until March 2006 when it was demolished. It has been vacant land except for a small carriage house since then.
