False claims: More than half of Ohio’s 1.4 million Pandemic Unemployment Assistance claims (which total $7.8 billion in payments) have been flagged for fraud, Lt. Gov. Jon Husted said Thursday. As Jeremy Pelzer explains, one likely reason is that, until recently, PUA claims required far less documentation than filings for traditional unemployment benefits.
