Framingham State University will be taking part in a new, national initiative to increase transfer rates from community colleges to four-year colleges for Black, Hispanic, adult and first-generation learners.
The Equity Transfer Initiative will manifest locally in a partnership between FSU and MassBay Community College in Wellesley. The two-year, $27,500 award from ETI will be used to increase transfer and completion for underrepresented populations using transfer pathways. These transfer pathways represent avenues to easily allow students to carry forward their education from a community college to a four-year institution.
“Increasing and improving upon transfer and completion opportunities for underrepresented student populations is critical to supporting their educational goals and career aspirations,” FSU President Javier Cevallos said in a press release.
