Because it comes about this time every day, 11 00 a. M. Eastern, we get an update from the national Hurricane Center. And well wait to see what they say about the massive Hurricane Milton that caused 6 Million people to evacuate in its path in the state of florida. The life threatening storm is now moving toward floridas Gulf Coast. Forecasters say it will slam into that peninsula. Late tonight or into the early hours of tomorrow. What they are looking at is exactly where it will hit. They arent saying it is not going to hit. Some forecasters are saying is Storm Surge could be higher than what it was in Hurricane Katrina which left more than 1,300 people dead. The evacuations, though, this time are the benefit of what we learned, we pray, from katrina. So many people moving out of the way. Not everybody, but most. Im Harris Faulkner and you are in the Faulkner Focus. This huge storm could be one of the largest weve seen in terms of a hurricane. Forecasters are saying Miltons Wind Field will double by the time it hits floridas Gulf Coast. Evacuation orders have been issued, as i mentioned, all around including the Tampa Area before the hurricanes devastating winds bring what they are expecting to be 15 feet of Storm Surge. The Fema Administrator has a warning. This storm is going to be like nothing they have seen before. While you can ride out a Storm And Hide from the wind, you need to move away from the water. They just need to move out of the Evacuation Zone Area to a place safe from the Storm Surge. I believe there is still time in some areas. Listen to your local officials. They will tell you what you still have time to do. Harris people have been boarding up businesses and homes throughout the region pretty much for the last 48 hours. Parts of the Gulf Coast are starting to feel the outer bands of milton. Wind lashing rains, flooding already affecting some cities and towns. Florida governor Ron Desantis just this hour. We are bracing and are prepared to receive a major hit. The National Guard is deploying 6,000 florida National Guardsmen as well as 3,000 National Guardsmen from other states. This is the largest florida national Guard Search and Rescue Mobilization in the entire history of the state of florida. While there is the hope that it will weaken more before landfall, there is high confidence that this hurricane is going to pack a major, major punch and do an awful lot of damage. Senior Meteorologist Janice Dean is in our fox weather center. Janice. We did get the 11 00 a. M. Advisories. Winds have gone down a little bit. We were anticipating that. You Cant Look at the category. The category means the winds. We dont have categories for Storm Surge. Sometimes i think we should. The Storm Surge will be catastrophic, historic. We set records with helene Storm Surge just two weeks ago. This in some cases will be double that. I also want to make mention that within the latest advisory theyre talking about Tornado Super cells. This is another story we have to follow in the next 12 to 18 to 24 hours is the potential for tornadoes. You have got the propertation from the counter clockwise motion and that is causing friction with the land. So yes, well see Tornado Damage in some of these heavy populated areas. By the way, thats on the east coast of florida. So this is going to be a brig concern. Tornado watch until 9 00 p. M. One of the risks. We talk about the Storm Surge. That will be imminent along the West Coast of florida. Heavily populated neighborhoods. Millions of folks live here from tampa to Fort Myers. We dont know the exact location where the strongest winds will come ashore. That will be key as to who gets the worst Storm Surge. South of the core of the strongest winds. North of the core of the strongest winds will be the heavy rainfall. A foot to 14, 15 inches. No matter how you slice it, it is going to be a very big event. One that will cause probably damage like theyve never seen along the West Coast of florida. Already seeing Wind Gusts in excess of 40 milesperhour for key west. As you mentioned the storm will weaken but also going to grow larger. Thats what happens. Its interacting with a cold front. It is what happened with sandy a few years ago in the northeast, right . It interacted with a cold front and became extra tropical and got bigger and affected a wide area of real estate. Thats what will happen with this storm. Landfall we think sometime overnight tonight anywhere between tampa and sarasota, Fort Myers you arent out of this, either. Anywhere along the vulnerable coastlines where the mound of water is just going to be pushed into the bays, inlets, we could see 12 to 15 feet depending where that center comes ashore. That will be devastating for this area of the cup can country. The shelf is so shallow. It is like a ramp for this water. Harris it could be worse than katrina is what my team is reading. It is because of how low the shelf is there. Yes harris and how different this could be and how much that we are seeing thats new. It is going to change the coastline. There is no doubt about that. It will. It is going to impact someone and thats why we have the evacuations in place. You dont have a lot of time now and you are going to wait out the storm, you need to pray. People are preparing for whatever comes ahead of the Storms Life threatening Storm Surge. The rain, the flooding already begun in some areas and will only strengthen throughout the day. Officials have told hundreds of thousands of people they must evacuate their homes and urged millions of others to do the same. Many in the area are terrified. We recently just got through helene in st. Petersburg. Were very scared about what will happen with our homes. I have been 38 or nine years and we went through it two or three times and im getting too old to stay there. This time well get hit. Really scary. Advisory theyve taken a bit off the top in the Tampa Bay area. Dont focus on a Couple Feet less. They are saying eight to 12 in Tampa Bay, a record. Clear Water Beach at 8. 6. Anna Marie Island theyve increased it from ten to 15 feet. On the beach decimated by Helene The Surf is starting to come up and a long way to go. How much Sand Theyve lost because of helene. Eight to 12 feet including the Tampa Bay region. South of that area down to Bonita Beach and sanibel island. Charlotte harbor eight to ten. Storm Surge Warning in effect for the entire West Coast of florida from Yankeetown All The Way to flamingo. Evacuation zones in that region Pleases Cape now while you still can. You have a little bit of time left before the water starts to rise later today. I want to note on the east coast of florida from sebastian and Southern Georgia we have a Storm Surge warning in effect including portions of the st. Johns river. As much as three to five feet above Ground Level for when milton exits tomorrow. Why you want to get out of the Storm Surge Evacuation Zones. What will you see when the devastating push of water comes in off the gulf onto the West Coast of florida . You will see large areas with deep water due to Storm Surge flooding. Ten to 15 feet above Ground Level in some places, structural damage to buildings. Some buildings washed away by damaging wave action. Locations may be uninhabitable for an extended period. Roads washed out or flooded and major damage to coastal infrastructure in those areas. The wind threat. Milton now category 4 hurricane expected to be a major hurricane when it reaches the West Coast of florida this evening and maintain Hurricane Status across the Florida Peninsula out into the Western Atlantic during the day on thursday. Everything in red is a hurricane warning. Fort myers through port charlotte, tampa, st. Petersburg to ocala, orlando, Melbourne And St. August in. We expect the category 3 winds in the high wall significant structural damage. Large trees will be snapped and uprooted. Widespread power outages. Roads will be impassable from large debris and well see Hurricane Force winds again along the Ifour Corridor Wind gusts leading to significant power outages, Wind Damage in the area as well. Lets move to the flooding threat. Substantial as well from rainfall now along and north of the track of Miltons Center which now appears to be focused on the Ifour Corridor. Expecting 6 to 12 inches of rain, isolated rainfall amounts as high as 18 inches leading to widespread life threatening catastrophic flooding in this region. This area highlighted in pink from today into thursday. Thats where well have widespread potentially life threatening flooding along the Ifour Corridor with the substantial Risk North and south of that area as well depending where the heaviest rains fall. When we get up to north of 15 inches of Rain Impacts are flooding to homes and businesses, rescue being conducted. Flooding in places that dont normally flood and again roads will be closed and eroded creating hidden dangers that will not make it safe to be out and about. The message this afternoon again i want to touch on the Tornado Threat as well that i mentioned at the beginning is expanding and quite significant across much of south and Central Florida. Especially in this region from orlando down to the lake the tornadoes and small thoerndz are advancing north out ahead of Miltons Landfall creating dangerous conditions across portions of the Florida Peninsula. If you are in these areas, you want to make sure you have multiple ways to get weather alerts, Flash Flood warnings and tornado warnings. Have wireless emergency alerts turned onto your smartphone. Battery Power Radio and be alerted when you might be asleep to dangerous conditions in your area. Lets Wrap Up with the final points here on Hurricane Milton. Expect a large area of destructive Storm Surge exceeding 10 feet along portions of the west Central Coast of the Florida Peninsula. If you are in that area its a life threatening situation. Evacuate. You have time to get out and save your life. Devastating Hurricane Force winds portions of the West Coast of florida and across the Florida Peninsula along and near the track of Miltons Center again life threatening Hurricane Force winds in gusts in places like orlando all the way to the east coast of florida. Preparations to protect Life And Property should be rushed to completion and finally the heavy Rainfall Risk with potential for life threatening and catastrophic flash and urban flooding across portions of Central Florida with a risk of longterm major River Flooding as well. You wont be able to evacuate at that point. Rescue and Law Enforcement cant get to you. The time to do that is right now. We know there is a Tornado Super Cell Risk with all of this. Along i75 west of sunrise, florida, a twister confirmed. Indeed, which is why the governor in his Executive Order included 51 counties because we knew this storm was so massive it has the potential to have catastrophic not just the areas it will impact along the gulf and west side but even on the East Side where as you mentioned were seeing tornado activity. You will see conditions deteriorate. Wind and potential tornadoes. Stay home and stay safe and monitor very closely. They can get all that information the flsert. Harris im writing that down. As you move toward this there are so many people still hurting from Hurricane Helene. Your state took it first. Talk to me a little bit about that. Yeah, the governor just does a tremendous job under his leadership to make sure everything was ready prestorm and as we got into the business of recovery. We had cut and toss crews and linemen available for Power Restoration and made sure Search And Rescue to preserve life. Debris has been a big focus and continued area of priority. A recent Pew Poll shows majority of white voters who identify as evangelical, protestant and catholic support trump. Most voters of other religious groups including black protestant, Atheist And Jewish are backing Kamala Harris. The headline is something that i saw in Newsweek Magazine and they have been covering this. Dr. Jeffries, christians, millions are saying they wont vote this time around. Not going to vote. It is a dereliction of duty for a christian not to vote in this election. It was jon jay, the first Chief Justice Of The Supreme Court back in 1812 who said god has given us the privilege of choosing our leaders in this christian nation. And it is our duty to prefer christians as our leaders. He would be called a christian Nationalist Today for saying this is a christian nation, but it is and it is important that we vote. The leaders we elect determine the policies we follow and the policies we follow determine the moral and spiritual direction of our entire country. One reason so many christians are disheartened is they dont understand the role of government. God is the one who created government. He created the church and the family as well. Government has one purpose. It is not to raise our children for us. It is not to bring a spiritual revival to the country, it is to punish evil doers and keep citizens safe. Thats what r romans13. We are voting for a protector for our nation. I believe the Donald Trump is the best candidate for president. He is the one who can keep our nation safe. And thats what Gods Purpose for government is. So i encourage every christian to get out there and vote again there are no perfect pastors, no perfect President S, but i think you have to choose the best. I think people genuinely believe that if we elect someone who supports morality, civil rights for the unborn, protects children from doctors who want to mutilate them and give them a pill they dont need, people want to take rights away from the church. I was very upset when Kamala Harris was a senator. She attacked a Judge Candidate who was a member of the knights of columbus, as catholics and others may know is a fraternal organization to promote civic service and religious duties. I worry when religious is in second Place And Government is in first place. We need a leader who doesnt believe that. Harris pastor brooks, it is interesting to hear clergy talk about politics. Oh, no, Church And State are so separate. But as were hearing at the Round Table they arent as you think in terms of voting with your values. Voting with our values is so important especially in the day and time were living in when there has been such a great falling away from morality. People are seeming to live their lives as they see fit without god. And thats one of the reasons why its important that from my Point Of View that we support President Trump. No one has done more to support religious liberty than President Trump. Appointing judges who have upheld religious liberties is so important. And so when we think about our faith, this is an election where we really cant say our faith is on the ballot. We have to do everything we can to make sure that our values and morality that we believe in are at the center of everything we do. Harris you saw that breakdown of polling. And i just want to be candid about this. Why does that break down along race that people who have that share the same christian values, it would seem, will vote according to their Skin Color and Hair Texture in the polling is what they tell the surveys for Kamala Harris before they would vote for Donald Trump. Why do you think that is it is unfortunately for identity politics. Because of that from a black perspective, our culture we voted democrat 90 of the time. If we are going to progress and make sure we arent left behind well have to diversify and make sure that we start voting values, not identity. Thats what im promoting and thats what i continue to tell people all the time. Harris before i come to you, gillian, i want to bring into the conversation. Some religious groups have been critical of Donald Trump Eggs Position on abortion. Here is what he said at last Months Debate and well get reaction. For 52 years theyve been trying to get roe v. Wade into the states and through the Genius And Heart and strength of six Supreme Court justices, we were able to do that. Now i believe in the exceptions for rape, Incest And Life of the mother. I believe strongly in that. Im not signing a ban and there is no reason to sign a ban because we have gotten when everybody wanted, democrats, republicans, and everybody else. Harris i wanted you here today you are constantly talking particularly to young women. Where does that land with young women . He is giving the power back to the states. Im not just an influencer but a mother myself. You are a mother and you know exactly when that Life Starts and the bible says when that Life Starts. I would tell christian voters, evangelical voters that i will remind them that Donald Trump was the most prolife President Weve ever had in history and gave things back to the states. I think its up to pastors, local leaders and people around the country to work with their local legislators. It is up to them. Trump gave the power to the states. It is up to us to work on our local legislature to do the right thing. I live in florida. Ron desantis gets hate for the Sixweek Ban but the five leading state in abortions. The high population but it speaks to the leadership. What are we doing in our own towns and states . How are we working with our own legislators . Harris it is one of the strictest things and you say the numbers how is that possible . A lot of the abortions happen so early with the chemical abortions and things like that. The numbers are hard to track but thats we are seeing since covid they became more accessible. Harris father murray, i see you nodding along. She invoked you by title saying you should work with the legislature. I love democracy and i love the republican form of government we have. Lets be honest. Getting control back to the states is not the real goal of the prolife movement. That was to protect unborn children. In my calculus, trump is going to protect children much more than harris. Harris went to an Abortion Clinic two weeks ago and all in favor on abortion on demand. Our leaders are not religious leaders in the sense of having to up hold the bible in all its aspects. Thats what they do. Were here to remind them they should do what the bible says. Harris dr. Jeffries, one second. I want to roll this and get your thought. A Group Called Evangelicals for Kamala Harris put out this ad called keep clear. Men will become utterly selfcentered and greedy for money. Ive been greedy all my life. Im so greedy. Harris the Billy Graham evangelistic association has sent that Group A Cease And Desist letter and threatened a lawsuit over that ad. Your response. First of all, Billy Graham was a member of my church for 54 years. He was the greatest evangelist, greatest preacher of our generation. Evangelicals for harris is taking that sermon out of context. He is preaching from Second Timothy Three avoiding those who would lead you astray spiritually and he said false leaders in the last days will do this and this. He was not talking about qualifications for President Of The United States. Again, romans13 says government is to protect us from evildoers. The one function of government. For that function you dont need a saint, you need a strong man or a strong woman. And thats what evangelicals are doing in supporting President Trump. It has absolutely nothing to do with hypocrisy. Were being accused of being hypocrites because we support Donald Trump. I had a reporter ask me how can you support a flawed candidate like Donald Trump . And i said as opposed to flawless like Kamala Harris . Come on, lets be real here. None of us is a saint. But we do follow biblical convictions and Donald Trump is the one who is following biblical convictions about abortion. Lets face it. There is a lot of disagreement how to execute that policy among prolife people. One thing that differentiates us from democrats is this. The democrats have no limits, no restrictions. Governor walz said it on Fox News sunday. His Minnesota Bill had no time restrictions. That means abortions any time for any reason anywhere. Thats the Democrat Position and we have to expose it. Harris pastor brooks, i want to ask you, there are Pew Research has looked at this. Why are people, particularly men, leaning more into the faith . Leaning more into the faith . Harris after decades of people kind of leaning out. I think people see the direction the world is going and so much helplessness and they know that in order for us to get things straight we need to have a relationship with god and only god can fill those voids that so many people have. God gives us the hope, Faith And Everything that we need that is essential for man kind to survive is what god provides. I think men are starting to see the reality of their own shortcomings and their own way of doing things doesnt work. So we see people turning back to god and thats what will make our country the country that it needs to be. I just want to point out to Everyone Listening that trump lost by thousands in several of these states. Evangelicals are the most impactful Voting Block of christians. 41 Million exist. They are selfidentified in the u. S. Of them 60 are registered to vote and 75 voted. Less than half. Look at the bible and what is calling you to do. This is a fight for our children, the next generation and their children and for us to have religious freedom in america we need to vote accordingly. God says you are a light as a christian, the salt of the earth. So we must ask christians have an obligation to not stop that at the voting poll. I tell My Son he is the light. It doesnt stop on November 5th and election day. You are a light when you are at that Voting Block. Yeah, extraordinary situation that is developing right now as Hurricane Milton category 4 churning in the Gulf Of Mexico about to make its way into the Gulf Coast potentially a landfall near Sarasota South of where im at in tampa. In the meantime the Garrison Channel that leads into the hillsborough and Tampa Bay out into the Gulf Of Mexico. Tampa is preparing now. Mandatory evacuations in play all across this region and the Barrier Islands as The Rain falls and winds continue to gust here this afternoon in tampa. Those Barrier Islands, serious issues right now. They are expecting up to ten to 15 feet of Storm Surge. Remember, less than two weeks ago Hurricane Helene ravaged that area bringing in five feet plus of Storm Surge pushing in sand and destroying structures, ripping out livelihoods. All those piles of debris still sit on the sides of many of those Barrier Islands. There wasnt enough time to move them because of mandatory evacuations as milton formed in the Gulf Of Mexico. The Wind Field has expanded in a big way. Many of the communities from naples and tampa will experience basically Hurricane Conditions like they have not seen in modern times. That is saying a lot considering the fact that two years ago in fort Myers Beach Hurricane ian ravaged the area with 15 feet of Storm Surge. 12 feet is expected this time. Ten to 15 feet of Storm Surge in these areas. Evacuations have been in play for days now. The mayor of tampa saying if you explain in the areas close to the coast where surge may come in. She said it frankly, you will die. That is very, very serious stuff. The army National Guard is on the ground, 6,000 plus members have been activated by Florida Governor Ron Desantis. A record number. Thousands of Utility Workers from canada to the mainland united states awaiting to help in the aftermath of this situation. We expect Landfall Tonight between 11 00 p. M. And 2 00 a. M. That doesnt mean that it is over. This will go inland. Orlando, jacksonville, all the interior communities in the peninsula will be affected. Millions of people under distress right now and thousands have left. So many people have left and out of the state of florida. We know the enemy is out in the Gulf Of Mexico right now. We have been preparing for it for days. Now the enemy is coming in. Hurricane milton, an historic system, likely to bring catastrophic damage up and down the Gulf Coast.
