The northern portion of florida under Evacuation Orders, experts are predicting right pow this could strengthen to a category 4 hurricane before making Land Fall in the Sunshine State. The 2 00 p. M. Advisory 110 mile per hour winds, Movement North Northeast at 16, Big Pressure is building right now. Were going to take you right now over to the Fox Weather studio. Weve got an update on this potential for life threatening Storm Surge. You heard the warnings earlier. Some of the words being thrown around by officials down there in florida calling this catastrophic and in some cases surgeon viveable. So as we make our Way Hour to hour we want to get an update from the Fox Weather Center. Were going to walk over to the studio right next to us where Kendall Smith is giving an update on the Fox Weather channel. Were going to dip in here and get the update from her. Hey kendall, thank you so much for having us. Thank you for being with us. Give us an update. We were just telling our viewers that this is building in strength. What do we anticipate as far as timing when this will make Land Fall . Well, this is an extremely impactful and very devastating hurricane marching its way toward the big Bend Region of florida as we speak. Were looking at the latest advisory as of 2 00 p. M. From the national Hurricane Center and we are just shy of a major hurricane. What i mean by that and sandra is that we have sustained winds 110 miles per hour. Once we reach sustained winds of 111 miles an hour thats classified as a cat 3 storm. Sandra so were right there about to change. Uhhuh. Sandra this is obviously the update were getting at 2 00 what does the next hour or so look like here. The next hour or so were anticipating it to strengthen moving to the North Northeast at about 16 miles per Hour And Weve watched as its really increased in that forward movement. Why thats important is that its continuing to really increase in its strength, its size. This is a massive storm. Sandra look at this. This is heoh, we just lost it there. When you look at the size of florida there and the size of the storm, its no wonder some of the officials are describing this, if you stay and dont abide by those Evacuation Orders theyre saying this could be unsurvivable for some of the folks. Exactly right 16 florida counties under right now mandatory Evacuation Orders and the size of this storm, we are talking about tropical Storm Force winds sandra that extend outward from the center 345 miles. So that fully emerses the entire state of florida. Then as you can see the Hurricane Force winds, this is impressive 60 miles out from the center. So why this is considered unsurvivable is the fact that we could see Storm Surge right along the Big Bend of Florida Southeast Tallahassee anywhere between 1520 feet above normally dry ground. And so when you think about that, 15 to as much as 20 feet, heres cedar key, the Nature Coast, this is going to be survivable for folks that have not heeded those warnings, those Evacuation Orders, and thats why if this System Roars ashore as a strong category 3 maybe even a cat 4 storm later tonight this could be one of the strongest storms to make Land Fall in this region in 150 Years Iuwhat can you tell us about some of the Storm Surges, those are some of the biggest warnings were hearing now from officials. Storm surge is the most deadly and dangerous aspect of any sort of landfalling tropical system so when you think about we have that counterclockwise rotation what that means is its pushing all that Water Inland and i like to consider the big Bend Region as a catchers mitt baseball, nowhere else for it to go it catches that water. A lot of the homes, theyre Lift Order stilts but this could mean water into the first floor of homes lifted. Sandra when you consider some of the rural areas in the panhandle and some folks we know people with family in the building, they had to get out of there. This is happening fast. Israel continued its strikes against Lebanon Today targeting dozens of lebanon positions overnight and into this afternoon. The exchange of fire comes amid calls by the United States France and others for a Threeweek Ceasefire between the two sides. This morning israeli Media Buzz Wind reports of a possible ceasefire in the coming hours before the office of israeli prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu quickly shot down those comments saying netanyahu actually instructed the idf to continue fighting in full force. Ive also directed the pentagon to Al Gate to allocate all the remaining security Systems Funding that has been appropriated to ukraine period. By The End of this, my term, which is january 20th. And this will strengthen Ukraines Position in future negotiations. Second, we look ahead to help ukraine succeed in the long term. As you know better than anyone, as we said at the Washington Summit we have to support ukraine and its path in its path to the Eu And Nato and continue to make reforms to counter corruption and strengthen democracy which youre working mightily on right now. We have to ensure ukraine has sufficient capabilities. I mean sufficient capabilities, to defend against future russian aggression. So im proud of the steps we have a taken and our partnership on these fronts. Earlier this summer we launched the ukraine compact with more than 20 nations committed to ukraines long Term Security and yesterday, with over 30 nations and the eu, we launched the joint declarations of support ukraines recovery and reconstruction. Some of it using russian assets as well. And so with both these actions, we make it clear we stand with ukraine now and in the future. Weve got a lot to discuss so let me close with this. These two elements are critical to how this war ends. Let me be clear. Russia will not prevail in war. Russia will not prevail. Like are they listening for how these candidates plan to fix this right now i hear more spending. They went on to downgrade and the other Debt Agency moodys said if you guys dont get it under control, if you dont show me a path to getting down the deficit were going to downgrade us from triplea to double a plus which im not sure how that affects us long term but people look to us as a place where money is going to be safe. A couple of things come to mind. They say by 20 34 at this rate our debt is going to be 130 of our gdp which is relatively scary if this is our personal debt i think we would have a situation where it would be panic time for bankruptcy but i think they also dont see, moodys or Bloomberg Or Anybody else, seem to like that we might be keeping the Trump Tax Plan together. It seems like they feel as though that will add more to the deficit than it will to growth. And that wont make trump too happy. Sandra there was an interview Last Night with Vp Harris with Stephanie Rule on msnbc and they, i guess they talked about the economy and there was a bit of pressing on Kamala Harriss plans. Yep. Sandra because they sound pretty expensive. Sounds like more money. There was a Followup Question . Sandra there was. How do you plan to pay for it . Watch this. If you Cant Raise corporate taxes or if gop takes control of the senate, where do you get the money to do that . Do you still go forward with those plans and borrow . Well, but were going to have to raise corporate taxes. And were going to have to raise were going to have to make sure that the biggest corporations and billionaires pay their fair share. Thats it. Donald trumps decision will be lessen corporate taxes she has to make a decision if she win toss keep the Tax Plan in place because if you dont Keep It in place, taxes go up for everyone. Thats one of his greatest assets and i would argue is why the socalled teamsters or working class, many of them see Eye To eye with him and a lot of these billionaires look down on him because he doesnt act like people who have a lot of money. Well, john, great to be with you both. A little bit concerned with the information that came out again today, and the report from yesterday amplifying the missteps that went on July 13th. Boy at this point what did go right. Communication issues, leadership issues, a number of people within the Report Pointing Fingers at Each Other indicating nobody knew who was in charge. Thats not how we operate in the Secret Service. And im a little bit concerned and quite frankly a little bit disappointed and embarrassed that these are the type of things were talking about with respect to that issue on July 13th. John so what has happened over the years to lead to this situation . Well, i think the Secret Service has unfortunately fallen into a level of complacency. You know, we havent had maybe a lot of things go on with respect to Assassination Attempts in the last 40 years. Youve been around this long enough to know how we operate. We may have thwarted a number of things over the years we dont even know weve thwarted. I think weve fallen into a check list mentality, i think were going over the motions and we need to recalibrate how we do our protective advances and make sure all elements of the protective advance come together at a seamless resolution on the day of the event. John so the protective advance is one aspect of this but another is the reaction to a perceived threat. And the one thing that nobody can figure out is why, knowing that there was a potential Security Threat there and actually seeing officers running toward that Agr Building with their guns drawn, why the call never went out to take the former president off the stage . Heres what Task Force Member Laurel Lee told us last hour. Its really unfathomable that that kind of threat information, that that kind of information could be coming to them and they dont say, hey, timeout. Lets get the president off the stage, get him to a safe place. And that could have changed everything. John not just lets get him off the stage but what about 27 minutes before when this guy was first spotted. Why did the order not go out either from the Command Center or from the snipers who were on the overwatch positions to say, hey, we have a potential Security Situations here hold mogul until we get it worked out. Absolutely A Hundred percent. That is the question that needs to get answered. I think we need to dig deep to find out why those things didnt happen, why that communication didnt happen. The whole setup with respect to the the normal way of operation. All of those entities should be in one room looking at Each Other. It may seem a little antiquated that we dont have the ability to communicate on radios with everybody but in a true Command Post situation, everybody is sitting in there looking at Each Other with their own radios and able to pass information to the other entities real time. Thats the way we do business. Its worked for us in the past. It works when implemented properly. It was not implemented properly on July 13th. John another Thing Congresswoman Lee was worried about is the level of the threat against the former president. You know, youve got crazy people out there trying to take him out. Youve got the iranian regime trying to mount a plot against himment you have this pakistani national who had ties to iran whos under arrest potentially for going after the former president. Heres what the congresswoman said about the threat level. The Threat Environment right now, as it relates to President Trump, is extreme. We know that, weve seen that. So at this point he needs to be getting every bit of available resource to make sure that he is being kept safe up to and including that which is assigned to the current sitting president. John so on october the fifth hes going back to the same place the Butler Farm Show grounds, to the same location, the same threats. What do you think will be different this time around . Well, i hope that the Secret Service has now finally realized that former President Trump is not our average former president protectee. He is the nominee of the republican party. He is a very recognizable individual. He at times can be controversial. They need to be able to bring out all the stops to secure that venue with all of the personnel needed, with all of the assets needed. Weve got this indication that there perhaps were assets denied in the past or not given for a particular reason. Now is not the time to be denying any assets and leaving anything in the garage. Everything needs to be brought out so that that venue, when he goes back there, and every venue moving forward towards the election in november, makes sure that he has a robust Security Plan in place, all the assets, bells and whistles are available to give him a very robust protective platform.
