We are getting our first look at the latest Fox News Polling on the president ial Race Vice President Kamala Harris up 2 points over former President Donald Trump. No news may be good news for the former president. Bad news for the Vice President. The Teamsters Union is refusing to endorse either one of the candidates tonight. Normally thats a given for the democratic nominee. But first up those polls we mentioned. Harris as 50 to 489 advantage among registered and likely voters. That is the same 2point Lead Hillary Clinton enjoyed at thiS Point in the 2016 campaign. The top issue for voters . The u. S. Economy by more than a 2 to 1 margin. Immigration comes in second. Abortion third. Former President Trump has a 10 Point Trust Advantage on immigration. He is up 5 now on the economy. Vice president leads by 16 on the issue of abortion. The Teamsters Union revealing nearly 60 of Teamster Union members voted in support of former President Trump in two separate polls independently done electronically and by phone. Vice president Kamala Harris receiving just 34 and 31 support respectively in those polls. Tonight, while campaigning at a Bitcoin Bar in manhattan, New York city, the former president called the Teamsters Union polling results a big thing and, quote, a great honor. The teamsters carry a lot of weight. The democrats Cannot Believe, you know, look, it was always automatic that democrats get the teamsters. And they said we wont endorse the democrats this year. So, that was an honor for me. In a major win for former entrepreneurship for the first time since 199. The Teamsters Union leadership is opting out of endorsing the democratS President ial candidate. Even though Teamsters Union members voted overwhelmingly in support of trump. The Unions Leadership Wasnt willing to go there. We dont care what the leadership says. Okay. Its about the rank and file. All of these guys, all of these women who have to get up and work every single day are with Donald Trump because they want to keep more of their own money. Sean obrien citing strong political divides and few commitments from the candidates for its reason for nonendorsement. When we both asked both Candidates President ial Form Round tables about supporting our Railway Workers and strike not interfere we couldnt get strong commitments from either candidates. The nonendorsement is a major blow for Vice President Kamala Harris, especially because Teamsters Union memberS Polled earlier this year said they supported President Biden over trump. Tonight, the Harris Campaign is touting local Union Endorsements while down playing the results of the teamsterS Polls writing in a statement, quote the Vice President s strong Union Record is why teamsters locals across the country have already endorsed her alongside the overwhelming majority of organized labor. The Union Vote coming as the former President Campaigns in Deep Blue New York. The rally seen as an effort to bolster republicans in three New York congressional races that could decide control of the house. Some 16,000 people are expected here at the nassau coliseum. We expect to hear former President Trump talk about the Teamsters Union vote. Inflation and immigration. No to both because thats not how we can operate as a public policy organization. We have to be Candidate Agnostic as a 501 c 3. So mr. Trump is not only telling the truth when he says that. He is also reminding people that we all operate in our lanes. Those of us who are Think Tank leaders are in one lane. Campaigns are in another. Political parties are in another. And we have been doing this since 1980. And every single one of those Election Cycles, bret, since 1980, we have offered Policy Briefings to every candidate across the political spectrum. This is what we do in Think Tank World is create and cultivate ideas. Bret for a conservative Think Tank to have the republican candidate, you know, distance himself from something like project 2025, which is 922 pages of possible Policy Isnt that a Bag Thing . Its a bad thing if we forget what the reality is which is that project 2025 became the target of the Radical Left. Why did it become a target of the Radical Left . Because what the Radical Left cant have an intellectually honest conversation about everything you ran in the Intro Senators and representatives is untrue about project 2025. Its a menu of conservative boilerplate options. I dont think there is a conservative i have met who would say in those 922 pages i will agree with everything. But the left Cant Run on ideas and policies because they are destroying the american dream. And that, by The Way, is the motivation. Bret they spent a lot of time talking about it. Not a lot of time explaining the details of it. Its very detailed. There is one this is jared huffman, democrat from california. He leads a Task Force to stop project 2025, apparently they are holding a News Conference Tomorrow that says trumpS Project 2025, which we have talked about, is not the connection. Plans to resurrect a victorian era through come Stock Act to criminalize reproductive care nationwide. We must rectify past injustices and ensure our dark history can not repeat itself under any future administration stop 2025. We talk about the history. What i love is to get emails from Left Of Center Americans who say i disagree with you. But this is a great piece of work that has laid out the Cards On The Table for us to have a policy conversation. Bret its options for a possible President Trump in the second term. But its not that he has signed on to these specific things . That is exactly correct. I want to be really clear. Never before and not now has thiS Project, which sometimes is called mandate for leadership in Heritages History have we asked any candidate to sign on to it. We cant do endorsements at the heritage foundation. We dont seek them. It is a menu of options that if the president and Vice President , whether they are republican or democrat, by The Way, wants to enact certain policies, there is a plan there for them. Bret some of the others in here project 2025, merit hiring, marketbased pay. Dismantle Homeland Security department. Leverage State Department Confirmation process. Cia accountability through new hires. Epa restructuring and streamlining. Those are bullet points. One of the thingS People talk about is like a scouring of the bureaucracy to make sure only acolytes who are supportive of, for example, President Trump would be inside the agencies. Thats what the left has done for 50 years. Project 2025 is the corrective to that. Where we get competent people who are virtuous to go in. But let me also end with thiS Point on this comment. When you go out and poll the specific policy positions of project 2025, bret. Most of them are 8020 issues. The left note is focusing on mischaracterizations of those ideas and the name itself. They dont want to have a conversation about the policies themselves. Because when the american people learn about them, they realize they support them. Bret this is steve corbin. The heritage Foundations Website knows trump fully embraced 64 of the reform recommendations, 2017 to 2021 presidency since trump implemented 64 of heritage Foundations Manifesto in knowing he is not a policy wonk. Odds are great if eelected he will embrace the latest version of 2025 lock, stock and barrel. We are not presumous about any public official whether its through project 2025 or the daily and hourly work we do at heritage. We will take our recommendations. We operate in service to them and in service to the american people. We do believe, however, that if you want to restore the american dream, that toes those policies should be enacted. And the lesson that we learned, and we have learned loud and clear, is that when we do this again, and were going to do it every Election Cycle because its what heritage does, that when the left combines to mischaracterize, figuratively, we are going to punch them back in the nose. As we have some new polls out tonight with the overall head to head at 2 Point Margin for Vice President harris as you can see within the margin of error. And this tracks roughly the real clear Politics Average of polls, the recent polls at about, you know, the same 2 points. If you look at our poll again, trust to do a better job. Former president at 51 on the economy. And 54 on immigration. And then Vice President harris on abortion, healthcare, election integrity. Take a look at the groups that in thiS Poll the former president is leading with. Those who attend worship, 6137. White men no degree, 5938. Rural voters there you see and men overall 5246. Then you see the Vice President leading but what is interesting inside this is the black voters at 29 for trump thats a big number. Urban voters, you see, under 30, 40 for trump. 5740. There you see women 5444. With that, lets bring in our panel, Fox News senior political analyst juan williams. The Washington Post columnist, american Enterprise Institute senior fellow Marc Thiessen and Mollie Hemingway Editor and chief of the federalist. Mollie, what do you see in those numbers . Interesting poll. Coming out of august where Kamala Harris had a really good month. She had her convention. She had a Debate Performance that people said was nag any if i sent and she is up 2 points. And so if you are Kamala Harris supporter, its got to be a little disappointing. You think about what Fox News was saying about bidenS Position versus trump four years ago, they had him up 5 to 10 points. Bret it was 9 at thiS Point. You know, you look at these issues like the economy, immigration, and trump still seems to have a lot of strength there. And those fundamentals are really going to dictate a lot for the race. You look at one of these other little tabs here, juan, close 2020 counties. Counties very close in 2020 and battleground states. It is the other way, 50 48 Donald Trump really what it comes down Electoral College vote. The democrats have to be up 4, 5 points to really swing those Electoral College states. Juan she is up in the quinnipiac poll. Bret morning consult had her up. Juan up in Swing States get varying results. Bret Swing States really close. Juan im saying quinnipiac harriS Plus 6 in pennsylvania. Plus 5 in michigan. Plus 1 in wisconsin. Its close. Thats my point to you. Its a little different than what we see in the Fox Poll in terms of Battle Grounds and states that were close in 2020. I think the big news out of this Fox Poll is not that she is up 2 points. Its the first time she has been up. To me, thats not the big news, the big news is the momentum that were seeing for harris right now if you look at it trumps edge is evaporating on the economy, on immigration. Is he still up but he has lost 10 points on the economy. He has lost 8 points on immigration. And among independents right now, in august, it waS Plus 8 for trump. Now itS Plus 12 for harris. If you look at hispanics. It waS Plus 6 for trump, in august. Now itS Plus 12 for harris. And we were just talking, i was watching what you were saying about blacks and young voters. And you are exactly right. But, again, when you look at it, you say wait a minute, this is better than she was doing. She is showing some improvement but its still not at the point where biden was with blacks and young voters. Bret meantime, by The Way, the house just voted that continuing resolution funding the government based on the checking of ideas for citizenship. That just happened and now they are going to go back to the Drawing Board and see how they can fund the government. Mark, i want to give that update. Meantime this Teamsters Nonendorsement is a story. Here is the former President And Alexandria ocasiocortez reacting to it. Its a great honor. They are not going to endorse the democrats. Thats a big thing. The teamsters carry a lot of weight. The democrats Cannot Believe that, you know, look it was always automatic that democrats get the teamsters. They said we wont endorse the democrats this year. That was an honor for me. Im very disappointed in Sean Obriens leadership. I have found it increasingly alarming all year when the teamsters are in trouble, who do they call when we need to make sure that teamsterS Pensions are built out. We need to make sure that they have a fair shake at the Negotiating Table with rail, it was Sean Obrien calling democrats for help. Bret a big Story And Part a big story because when they tab when they went to poll members, it was an overwhelming win for the former president. Yeah. He has made the republican party the party of the Working Class and the leadership of the unions hasnt really caught up with their rank and file. But, its devastating on a number of levels. Another one not just the endorsement but the Mobilization Effort that they would put in with the endorsement that there is a whole teamster get out the Vote Machine and union get out the Vote Machine that will not be at the disposal of Kamala Harris for that reason. And its going to be very decisive in some of those Swing States you are talking about, in michigan and wisconsin and pennsylvania. Where the Union Vote is enormous to not have the teamsters out there using their machine to help Kamala Harris and will help Donald Trump. Bret you just have an interview with the former president. Did i. What was your take away. Is he enormously confident. Bret there is a shocker. Its funny. We were looking at Swing States up by 2 in the close counties if you look at the rcp average. Not a single state where there is a difference of more than 1. 3 in the Swing States. I asked him how are you going to appeal to the small number of Swing Voters and small number of Swing States going to decide this election . He said maybe it will be small and maybe it will be pretty big. You know, i think he recognizes that this is a change election. Our polling shows 84 of americans want drastic change or major change and he wins with people who want change. And so i think he sees this as a change elections. Thats why he see Kamala Harris trying to be the candidate of change. Her slogan is a new way forward the sitting Vice President is trying to become an insurgent and is he not going to let her. Bret mollie . Back to that teamsters thing. The last time they didnt endorse was in that election that one perot election. Even though clinton had plurality of the support. The vast majority, nearly 60 of actual teamsters are with trump, you know, and in the same year they were with biden. They were willing to vote with biden over trump. The Kamala Change they are now going with trump. Thats got to be just very disconcerting to the Kamala Harris campaign that they have lost so much ground among that type of Middle Class worker.
