We are getting our first glimpse of former President Trump after the apparent Assassination Attempt on his two days ago. Margo martin posting a new video on x showing Trump Meeting with Sheriff Deputies that tracked down the suspect and took him in to custody. Watch him here. Thats good looking stuff there. Hes on the senate Subject Committee investigating the Secret Service. First to Aishah Hasnie where President Trump will hold a Town Hall. How is it looking there . This is the first public event on the campaign trail. Theres a lot of trump supporters out here that are waiting to see the former president in person. To make sure that hes okay and to hear about what happened on a sunday. They want to know the details. Security is high here as it has been. Really every campaign event. I want to show you the mags that theyll go through in just a few minutes. Were seeing a lot of flint police, a lot of Sheriff Deputies. After covering these Campaign Events for months now, really nothing is different than what it has been since the butler, pennsylvania incident. Ive been talking to folks out here. They tell me they want to hear about what happened on sunday. They also want to hear from the Secret Service as to what changes will be made. At the end of the day, they want to hear about the issues that matter to them. Listen. Were grateful that former president what we want hear more. Im looking forward to what he has to say about the economy. Families are struggling. The Town Hall is hosted by Sarah Huckabee sanders and is supposed to be focused on manufacturing jobs, but we could also hear, for the first time in person the account directly from President Trump as he did last night. We heard shots being fired in the air and probably four or five and it sounded like bullets that were in the Group And Everybody just we got into the carts and we moved along pretty good. Harris still has an edge in this state. She is also scheduled to be here this week and trumps Running Mate is in sparta right now. It shows how critical this state here. I have been talking to the supporters about the Ground Game here. It isnt as good as it is in other Battleground States and they hope to change that. They are trying to Reach Indiindependent voters. We will probably hear from an independent voter. She went from being a democrat to an independent as the president tries to target those Swing Voters here. Thank you. Lawmakers are prepared to give more funds to the Secret Service after the second assassination on former President Trump. Chat is live on capitol hill. Where do things stand right now . Chris murphy is the top democrat on the senate panel, which funds the Secret Service. He says this is a dangerous time in politics. He is looking at hundreds of millions of dollars for the Secret Service but some republicans say no way. We need answers more than the Secret Service needs money. In the real world when you dont do your job, you get fired. In the world of washington, when you dont do your job, you get more money, because obviously, you need it. Mike johnson is skeptical. He says he is looking at the possibility of adding money for the Secret Service for a bill to fund the government. They vote on another version of that tomorrow without more money for the Secret Service. He said it is a question of manpower allocation. We dont want to throw more money at a broken system. We are looking at all aspects of it. Lawmakers are fuming. Some dont believe the Secret Service has been forthcoming with information. They want answers about sundays Assassination Attempt. I am reaching the point of total outrage because the response from the department of Homeland Security has been lacking. I will support a subpoena. It takes very little drafting to do a subpoena. The special House Committee investigating the Pennsylvania Shooting will likely incorporate florida into its probe. Lawmakers fear they will be blamed for not helping the Secret Service if there is another incident. Thanks, chad. Lets bring in land paul. He is part of the bipartisan Task Force in the senate looking into this. I want to start with something the Vice President ial nominee j. D. Vance said about the rhetoric surrounding Donald Trump. It is time to say to the democrats, to the media, to everybody who has been attacking this man and trying to censor this man. Cut it out or you are going to get somebody killed. It without question im blames cnn, msnbc and all the other leftwing outlets for promoting this idea that Donald Trump is going to end elections, that democracy is being threatened. They have made it so dire and so misinformed the public about his positions that every crazy person in the country is jammed up. The democrats need to tone it down because they are inciting this anger that is coming forth through disturbed people or violent people or otherwise but they need to tone down there rhetoric. After the July 13thAssassination Attempt, there were calls on both sides and led by the president to tone down the rhetoric. That did not last long. Listen to what Hillary Clinton said 24 hours after the Assassination Attempt on sunday. We cannot go back and give this very dangerous man another chance to do harm to our country in the world. What do you say to that . She is inciting people who are unstable to think the only way they can stop this danger, what if he is elected, we must stop him, they are advocating and pushing people towards violence and they need to stop that rhetoric. It is a process that we do every four years and it should not be about alarming and inciting people. That is what Hillary Clinton is doing there and it is what the left is doing. They are saying he is evil and he will ruin the country. There will be no more voting. None of that is true. It is all a lie. All of the things they said about collusion with russia were alive. They cant handle a Simple Civil Discussion Over Policy but they need to stop it with the two shooting episodes in about two months. I fear for what comes forward. It has to stop. This is coming from the left. They immediately blame him for talking about immigration problems. It is his fault for bringing up an issue people are unhappy about. It is about the left inciting people to say you may not be able to solve this with an election because he is so dangerous. He is The American hitler. They say it over and over again and they are responsible for ratcheting this up to violence. We have pictures from an area where the gunmen secretive himself. It is near the sixth hole, if we can go to that graphic and show you what it looks like from his vantage point. There is a gap in the sense that is well known. It is used by a lot of photographers. The Secret Service knows about it yet this guy was in that area for 12 hours. How can that be explained . Inexcusable. I saw someone from Law Enforcement say had he been president , this would not ha happen. He needs to be treated the same as the acting president. We have the resources. It is a lack of oversight and people doing the job. Someone should not be able to sit with a weapon for 12 hours and not be detected. That is unacceptable. In the first Assassination Attempt, they had a suspicious individual for 90 minutes and they did not stop the proceeding. They had a broadcast of man on a roof at 6 08. They had 3 minutes to have trumped, taken to the stage and it didnt happen. Its not about throwing money at the problem. Its about Human Error and responsible. I like people in Law Enforcement. They have a hard job. If you are in charge of security and you have failure such as not guarding a roof, it is an inexcusable error. You cannot be in charge of the next person that has to be protected because you have shown yourself incapable of being in charge of security. We will see where the investigation goes. Lets pray it doesnt happen again. Appreciate your time. I know it was off the record. Security is different because it is not an event that gets broadcast publicly, so people would have to know he is going there. It looks like ruth took an educated guess. He expected the president was going to be there. How many other times has he been there been there waiting and watching and the president did not show up . It might be off the record, it doesnt mean it is unplanned. Either he has been out there staking out or there was some kind of information he got about traumas plans to golf that were not publicly available. These are answers we should be getting from the agency, sooner than right now and wondering what went on here. Wouldnt it be nice if somebody had a press conference. Where is the secretary of dhs . I would love to know where he got the weapon. Did he file off the serial number or was it like that when he got it . Vice president harris will take questions from members of the black journalist association. Things got heated when Trump Address that same group. We will break it down. 45,000 dockworkers prepared to strike. Lydia is alive and everybody is wondering, is this going to end Holiday Shopping . It is a really good question. The clock is ticking to avert that major strike that would disrupt operations at Container Points across the East Coast and through the gulf coast. What dockworkers are demanding and what a strike would cost the economy. All of that is coming up. Music unnecessary Action Hero unnecessary. Was that necessary . No. Neither is missing your Daughters Competition to do payroll. With paycom, employees do their own payroll so you dont have to miss your daughters big day. Time to shine. Get paycom and make the unnecessary unnecessary. Lets say youre deep in a show or a game or the game. On a train, at home, at work. Okay, maybe not at work. Point is at xfinity. Were constantly engineering new ways to get the entertainment you love to you faster and easier than ever. Thats what i do. Is that Love Island . Just as the Holiday Shopping season approaches, dockworkers are threatening to strike seeking pay raises and protection against automation before their current contract expires. It is a beautiful day but people are wondering if there is stormy weather ahead in terms of delivering goods on time. The economic impact cannot be understated. A strike at this time would cause Shipping Delays and mean that Shipping Costs would be forced higher when they are already elevated from the crisis in the Red Sea and it would mean that some Holiday Gifts would not make it to stores on time. Some Silver Lining as retailers have learned tough lessons and many of them rushed to get their orders in as they saw the strike looming in the distance. We know this because import volume from july of this year was 21 higher than it was a year ago but still, if there were to be a strike, disruptions even further would be inev inevitable. If there is a strike, it will be disruptive and it will tie up capacity. Vesse congestion at West Coast ports. Things get shifted over. It is the international Longshoremens Association that would go on strike in two weeks if a new Agreement Isnt reached and some experts are losing Hope A Strike will be diverted. Talks have broken down and there is no new date for negotiations and a major Sticking Point is wages. The maritime alliance says it is offering an industry an industryleading Wage Increase. The West Coast received a 32 Wage Increase over four years. The longshoreman, the workers are demanding a 77 Pay Increase over six years. Today they write instead of negotiating and respecting the international Longman Association your workforce, they have chosen to engage in ugly Propaganda Campaign designed to paint the workers as greedy. The employers maintain they want the union, the workers to come back to the Negotiating Table to commit to this process but at this moment, it appears the two sides are far apart and the possibility of a strike seems like it could become a reality and the economic impact cannot be understated as inflation is slowing. Jpmorgan is out with an analysis that estimates the cost of a strike to the country is 5 Billion each day. People who had Christmas In July are pretty astute at this point. We have always had a vision for the future of our nation. A future where we can see what is possible unburdened by what has been. And today, that vision, our vision is under profound threat. The black worker and black family are losing their jobs. Hispanics are losing their jobs to people who pour into our country illegal. Vice president , harris will take the stage to field questions. It is the same event that turned hostile for trump over the summer. New polling suggests he is making inroads with black voters, especially men. Lets bring in our Fox News contributors. Thank you for being here today. Appreciate it. This event we are about to see kick off, i want to remind everyone of what it looked like when trump did the same event over the summer. Lets play that sound bite. I want to address the elephant in the room. A lot of people did not think it was appropriate for you to be here today. For you to start off when you are 35 minutes late because you couldnt get your equipment to work in a hostile manner, it is a disgrace. That Set The Tone last time guaranteed up the the controversy and criticism. How do you think they need to handle this interview of the Vice President . I know a couple of journalists doing the interview and they need to start where julie started. There are 80,000 longshoremen who might go out on strike. They are going on strike because corporations are making millions of dollars and that is not trickling down to The American worker. This is where Kamala Harris and Joe Biden are strong. We saw them on the strike line. They got historic settlements from ford, gm and some other companies. This is an opportunity to talk about where The American worker can be if there is a president that supports The American worker. This is coming a couple of days after another Assassination Attempt on former President Trump. It would be incumbent to ask about it. We have heard the Trump Team teeing off on democrats and their rhetoric and while her campaign has been different than Joe Biden in terms of the mood, she has said, in the debate, that his bloodbath comments, referring to them as if they were a call to arms rather than a statement about the economys in the impacts to the auto industry. Should they ask her about these comments . I was there. I sat in the front row. It was a hostile interview. Truth be told, do i expect them to ask hardhitting questions . Absolutely not. This is going to be a softball interview. The Word Bloodbath is an economic term. They tried to weaponized that against republicans. I dont have hope she is going to speak to the issues that are impacting americans because it is the national association of black journalists. They speak to black audiences. We can go On And on but i dont feel any hope that this will be a serious conversation. I think it will be a Cheerleading Section for Kamala Harris. Harris is facing some slippage among black voters, especially black men. Paris needs incredible turnout among black voters but there are warning signs. She gets ordering signs from the naacp pole. It showed one in four younger men are backing trump. Her support plummets to 49 according to a poll that came out friday. What do you attribute that to and is there anything she can do to turn it around . Lets be clear. The two journalists doing the interview are members of the White House press corps. One happens to be the president. To think this was going to be a soulful interview and they are going to derelict their responsibility is intellectually dishonest given the fact. It is not. No. You have seen these two journalisms. All right. We have also heard language that has been very supportive of madame Vice President. Lets not be confused on what this is. You want to defend your friend. That is not what we have seen in the past. Journalists doing their jobs, no matter what they are. Specifically these two individuals are journalists who have gone to the room every day and asked the White House tough questions. We will have to watch. We will have to watch and see. Just watch abc. We will be able to see who is right among the two of you because we will be able to judge it for ourselves. Unfortunately, we are out of time. Thank you both for being here. Good to see you. Thank you for being here. Kamala harris is sitting down to be interviewed. At lets listen in. Their number one concern is the economy. A question that has been asked of you and everybody is whether or not voters are better off now than they were four years ago. Are they . When we came in, let me just say, it is good to be with the national association of black journalists. I appreciate the work you when youre journalists do every day. It is important we ensure you have the resources on the platforms to deliver the voices that must be heard so i thank you for hosting me today. Four years ago, when we came in, we came in during the worst unemployment since the great depression. We came in during the worst public Health Epidemic in centuries. We came in after the worst attack on our democracy since the civil war. A lot of It Due in large parts of the mismanagement by the former president. As it relates to covid and january 6th. We had a lot of work to do to clean up the mess. As of today, we have created over 16 Million new jobs. Over A Hundred Thousand new manufacturing jobs. We have the lowest black Unemployment Rate in generations. We have invested in Small Businesses how much of the benefit of many people but including black Small Businesses, some of the highest creation of the black new Small Businesses in years. We have capped the Prescription Medication for our seniors. And particularly i will talk about the impact on the block people. Black folks are 60 more likely to be diagnosed with diabetes and we have finally capped the cost of insulin for our seniors, cap the cost of Prescription Medication because we, unlike the former president who promised to do it, we, finally, have allowed medicare to negotiate Drug Prices against pharmaceutical companies. These are just some of the accomplishments. It is the price of groceries still too high . Yes. Do we have more work to do . Yes. I believe i offer a new generation of leadership for our country that is about, turning the page on an era that has shown us attempts by some to incite fear, to create division in our country and to do the work that is about bringing some level of optimism and ambition about what i know is possible in our country. My plan for the economy includes what i imagine and believe and call an opportunity economy. What we can do to grow an opportunity economy, where all people have access to the resources to compete to imply their incredible work ethic, their aspirations and their dreams and not just get by, but get ahead. I can talk in more detail about it but i will mention a few things. One of the big issues that affects people now in terms of the economy and their economic wellbeing is we have a shortage in housing supply. It is too expensive. People cant afford to buy a home. Our parents had the ability to believe The American dream was attainable. Not so much for younger working people and i recognize that. My approach is a new approach, to say, lets take this and deal with it head on a part of my approach is to say, i am going to employ and engage the private sector, in particular homebuilders with Tax Credits to give them the incentive to create new housing, 3 Million by the end of my first Term And Understanding not everybody is handed a silver spoon, but works hard and is trying to save up for a down payment. Part of my plan is to give firsttime Home Buyers at 25,000 down Payment Assistance so they can get their foot in the door to be able to engage in what will prove to be their opportunity to build intergenerational wealth. I grew up in the middleclass kid. My mother was hardworking and raised me and my sister. She saved up and it was only by the time i was a teenager that she could afford to buy her first home. I know and identify and know where i come from. Just let me finish. I know so many people work so hard and should have the opportunity to get their foot in the door. This is not just about getting by, but getting ahead. I would like to ask you about the opportunity economy, housing is part of it, as well as expanding the earned Income Tax Credit and a 50,000 Tax Detection for startups. That is Child Care and elde eldercare. In some parts of the country it cost more for Child Care than rent. An average of 33,000 a year. You mentioned that in your opportunity economy, a child Tax Credit but that is just one part of an ecosystem. Please tell us what plans will you propose to guarantee families can actually afford Child Care and eldercare to your point, it is sadly the State Of Affairs in our country the working people have to decide to be able to work or be able to afford Child Care. They cant afford Child Care and do the work they want to do. It doesnt actually level out in terms of the expense versus income. My plan is that no family, no Working Family should pay more than 7 of their income in Child Care. I know when you talk about the return on that investment, allowing people to work, such to pursue their dreams in terms of how they want to work, where they want to work, benefits us all and strengthens the economy. We saw during the pandemic will happen. It has dissipated as a conversation we need to resuscitate, which is the number of women that had to leave the workforce because of the lack of Child Care and Home Health Care and so many of our families and women end up carrying the responsibility. Men do too. People in the sandwich generation, who have young children as they are also taking care of their parents. It is too expensive for them to be able to work and do that. My plan is not only about 7 of income for working people, for Child Care, but we need to do better for our Child Care providers and Home Health Care providers in terms of ensuring they receive the wages they deserve based on the dignity of their work. I have spent time with Home Health Care and providers. Their work is some of the most taxing work you can imagine. When my mother was sick with cancer, i did a lot in terms of taking care of her and the work that is about taking care of a loved one is extraordinarily heavy in terms of the emotional toll, the time it takes. Not everybody has the ability to take time from work to do it. They need help and we need to make sure we have Home Health Care workers that help them. We need to expand the child Tax Credit. Part of my plan is to extend and expand the child Tax Credit to 6,000 so young families, for their first year of their childs life, which is an important time in their development, have the resources to buy a crib, a Car Seat and not have to worry about whether they want to meet their other needs. I dont need to remind anybody here, but when we expanded the child Tax Credit a couple of years ago, we reduced black Child Poverty by half. If you talk about the benefit and think about the benefit to the economy overall, it strengthens our economy. Black men are closely watched. You posted black men at your residence, you have engaged black men in your economic opportunity. Polling shows some black men are considering voting for Donald Trump and they see him as better for the economy. What is your message to young black male voters who feel left out of this economy and how can your policies materially change their lives. I think it is very important to not operate from the assumption that black men are in anybodys pocket. They are like any other voting group. You have to earn their vote. I am working to earn the vote, not assuming i am going to have it because i am black. The policies and perspectives i have understand what we must do to understand the needs of all communities. I intend to be a president for all people. Specifically as it relates to what we need to do around economic opportunity. I started before i was the top of the ticket and what i call an economic opportunity to work, it focused on black men. We have so many entrepreneurs in the community who do not have access to capital but they have great ideas, incredible work ethic, and the ambition, the aspiration, but dont have the relationships. My work has included getting billions more dollars into community banks, including working with big banks to do that so we can increase access to capital for our Small Businesses and startups. Part of my plan going forward is that right now, start up entrepreneurs, Small Businesses only get a Tax Deduction of 5,000. Nobody can start a Small Business so i am expanding that to 50,000, understanding that when people have the opportunity to have the resources to get started, they are going to put the hard work into it and part of what i also know is that our young black men, like any group of people, anybody, our Small Businesses, they are the backbone of our economy and when they do better economically, we all do better. Part of my work is about understanding what we need to do dealing with the historic inequities that have faced the Back Community around homeownership. I dont have to go through the history with anybody here about what that has meant in terms of redlining, what it has meant in terms of buying Season Home appraisals and the impact it has had on stemming the opportunity to build intergenerational wealth because of those obstacles. Part of the work i have done and continue to do is identify, speak truth about those obstacles and address them. Another example is medical debt. One in four black families or individuals is more likely to carry medical debt than others. Part of my perspective and as Vice President , part of the work we have done is to say we are going to eliminate medical debt from being on your Credit Score. Until now, it worked against your Credit Score. People know their Credit Score like they know their weight. You know that number and the difference between what that number is and what it needs to be is the difference between you getting a Car Loan or even a lease on an apartment. Part of my approaches understanding the obstacles that traditionally and currently exists to allow anyone, including black men, be able to achieve economic wealth. Im going to tell you, i dont think it is sufficient to just only talk about economic policy around reducing unemployment. It is an important marker and i am proud of the work we have done thus far, but it should be a baseline bear, everybody working. Do people have an opportunity to build wealth . If that is what they choose to do, if that is what they want to do. A lot of my perspective as we go forward is just that. I believe there are a lot of opportunities available to The American people if we just see just see people and understand what they want for themselves and their families and meet them where they are. I want to switch gears and talk about the war in gaza. You called for a Ceasefire Hostage Deal and a Twostate Solution as an end to the war for many months. You have expressed support for israel to defend itself, a Twostate Solution is at odds with what Benjamin Netanyahu has said. If it matters how they defend themselves, where do you see the line between Aggression And Defense . And our power as Israels Ally, to do something. A lot to unpack. Lets start with this. I absolutely believe this war has to end. It has to end as soon as possible. The way that will be achieved is by getting a Hostage Deal and a Ceasefire Deal done. We are working around the clock to achieve that end. Stepping back, october 7, 1200 israelis were slaughtered and some americans, by the way in that number. Young people attending a concert. Women were horribly and i have said israel has a right to defend themselves. We would. The thing i asked let me finish. It is important to put it in context. Let me do that. How it does so matters. Far too many innocent palestinians have been killed. Women and children. We have seen, with horror, the images coming out of gaza and we have to take that seriously. We have to agree that not only must we end this war, but we have to have a goal of a Twostate Solution because there must be Stability And Peace in that region, and as much what we do in our goal is to ensure its israelis have security and palestinians in equal measure have security, have selfdeterminatiOn And dignity. What levers does the u. S. Have to support palestinians and their right to selfdeterminatiOn And is it possible as Israels Ally . Absolutely. I have been actively involved in meeting not only with israeli officials but with arab officials. To talk about how we can construct a day after scenario where we participate in ensuring those exact goals i outlined, including as part of the principles that should be applied to those goals that there be no reoccupation of gaza, that there be no changing of the territorial lines in gaza, that there be an ability to have security in the region for all concerned in a way that we create stability and let us also recognize in a way that ensures iran is not empowered in this scenario in terms of the Peace And Stability of the region but absolutely, the united states of america has a role, which is why we have been active with the egyptians around attempting to get a deal done and get it done as quickly as possible. To follow up, is there a specific Policy Change you would say you would do that would help this along . You have gotten a lot of credit for emphasizing the humanity of palestinians but what i hear from folks is there is no Policy Change that you or the president biden have gone and said they would do. Is there a specific Policy Change you would do in our helping of israel. We need to get this deal done and done immediately and that is my position at policy. In the way that we interact in as their ally . One thing i am supportive of is the paws we have put on the 2,000pound bombs. Since there is some leverage we have had and used. Ultimately, the thing that is going to unlock everything else in that region is getting this deal done and i am not going to disclose private conversations but i will tell you i have had direct conversations with the prime minister, with the president of israel, with egyptian leaders, and with our allies. We have made ourselves very clear this deal needs to be done in the best interest of everyone in the region, including getting the hostages out. We saw the latest example of what happened with the six most recent, one of who was an american citizen. What do you say to those who say that is not enough. That this administration, your possible administration has to do more . We are doing the work of putting the pressure on all parties involved to get the deal done. Let me be very clear, also, i support Israels Ability to defend itself. I support the need for palestinians to have dignity, selfdeterminatiOn And security. As we move forward and get into state deals done but right now we need to get done is this Hostage Deal in the Ceasefire Deal. We need a ceasefire and the Hostage Deal. I want to switch gears to racial injustice. Jackson lees signature bill, one of a few was hr 40, which would create a commission to study the history of u. S. Slavery and the issue of reparations. She issued every session of congress, taking up the mantle from john conyers. This is a bill you cosponsored, yet, despite the fact it has been created on the State Level and on the local level is yet to pass in congress yet alone come out of committee. Jackson lee, barbara lee, other advocates have called for biden to take Executive Action to take to create this commission. Would you take Executive Action to create this commission or do you believe it should happen in congress . First of all, as you mentioned, Sheila Jackson was an extraordinary leader who we recently lost and she was a friend and a champion for so many issues. I feel compelled to say that about her. On the issue of what we need to do going forward, we need to speak truth about history in spite of the fact some people are trying to erase history and trying to teach our children otherwise. We need to speak about the generational impact of our history in terms of the general relational impact of slavery, of redlining, of jim crow. I could go On And on. These are facts that have had impact. Its we need to speak truth in a way that is about deriving solutions. I think we, part of that is studying it to figure out what we need to do. Part of what we cant do now is what i am talking about in terms of building an opportunity economy, which is addressing the obstacles that historically and currently exist. And dealing with them, student loan debt, medical debt, bias in home appraisals, what we need to do in terms of dealing with that issue i have champion for years, black maternal mortality, the fact that black women are three to four more times to die in connection with childbirth than other women and we know that the reasons for that include disparities that preexist for pregnancy, including disparities that are in the system before her pregnancy. All of those things must be addressed. Should this happen through executive Order Or Congress . Congress will have the ability to do this work. I am not discounting the importance of any Executive Action but ultimately, congress. If you are going to talk about it in a substantial way, there will be hearings, a level of public educatiOn And dialogues and i think that was part of the spirit behind the congressional action thus far to ensure that everyone can participate in a way that elevates, knowledge about history and the Reference Points that have that are the impetus of this conversation. Especially when people are trying to deny history. When people, socalled leaders say enslaved people benefited from slavery. Lets talk about the work that needs to be done. It is profound. I want to move to springfield, ohio. We have seen school closures, parents worried about their kids leaving the home because of racist Conspiracy Theories i will not repeat here. They have been repeated by leaders on the republican side, former President Trump and j. D. Vance. Is this a case of irredeemable racism that cannot be mitigated by any rational action or is this a situation in which a federal response could help this community heal . There is a question of reso resources. I will let you finish and then i will speak. It is a crying shame. My heart breaks for this community. There were children, Elementary School children it was school photo day. You remember what that is like . Go to school on picture day. Im dressed up in their best, got ready, knew what they were going to wear the night before and had to be evacuated. Children. Children. The whole Community Put in fear and i will say a couple things about it. I learned a long time ago in my career, having a background as a prosecutor, when you have these positions, that kind of microphone in front of you, you ought to understand at a deeper level how much your words have meaning. I learned at a young stage of my career lit the meaning of my words could impact whether someone was free or in prison. As Attorney General of california, fifth largest economy in the world, i was acutely aware that my words could move markets. When you are bestowed with a microphone that big, there is a profound responsibility that comes with that, that is an extension of what should not be lost in this moment, the Public Trust.
