California Governor Gavin Newsom has voteed a controversial bill that was being pushed by members of his own party. Legislatures would have helped illegal immigrants with loans to buy homes. Hi, alicia, yeah, the controversial bill that would have given hundreds of thousands of dollars in Housing Loans to illegal immigrants was not signed into law. California Governor Gavin Newsom vetoed it yesterday. And he said giving the finite availability must be carefully considered in the broader context making sure we manage resources effectively. For this reason im unable to sign this bill. Last Month State lawmakers advanced the bill the California Dream for all program. If newsom would have signed it into law it would have given some illegal immigrants up to 20 of a Homes Value or up to 150,000 in down payment assistance, and first time Home Ownership loans. Supporters say it would have helped migrants live the american dreams, but some republicans immediately called this a bad idea. They say its not wise for the state to be handing out even more money while california faces a multibillion Dollar Budget Deficit this year. And on thursday, trump announced he would ban illegal immigrants from receiving home mortgages, if he were elected president and his Running Mate said giving away free things to illegal immigrants incentivizes more of them to come to california and he addressed this yesterday during his visit to the southern border in san diego. California has made a catastrophic error at the state level. Of course, backed by a lot of the San Francisco liberal policies that Kamala Harris has supported, that we want to give illegal aliens free mortgages, that we want to give illegal aliens generous Health Care berths and that has induced a lot of illegal aliens to come into the state of california. A very large number of them. So, the question, how are they getting here and why are they coming here . And the obvious answer is new York City is a Sanctuary City and definitely sends a message if you come here youre going to be taken care of. In this day of ubiquitous information across the globe if i want to come someplace im going to come here. The problem is many of the individuals are not terrorists, but secreted in their group could be people that we dont know about. We dont know why theyre here or if they have any training. However, there are people who are concerned and theyre also confused because you have officials who are out there saying this is a problem. And then you have other officials saying its not so bad. And he got a victory in the courtroom last week when a judge in his convictions where the hush Money Trial in New York will be delaying sentencing until after the Election And Trump says the whole case is an example of Election Interference and the judge says he wants to avoid any appearance of Election Interference which he said is unwarranted. Now, 14yearold Colt Gray allegedly behind the gun, could get up to life in prison and be tried and will be tried as an adult. He was emotionless in Court Yesterday despite facing four counts of felony murder. His 54yearold Father is accused of providing the ar15 used in the killing and could get up to 180 years behind bars. Hes facing the most severe charges ever filed against a parent of an alleged school shooter. He was visibly distraught in court, even appearing to cry at times. Its now been three days since two students and two teachers were gunned down at the school. The Memorial Outside Apalachee High School the vigils are growing. And the students in Barrow County School district will return on tuesday. Its not clear when the students at the High School will go back to class. And they say that students who witnessed this can react differently to the trauma. In the initial phases, again, Theres Shock and following that might be a heightened sense of hyper arousal, anxiety, trouble sleeping, people having maybe unclear memories. And meanwhile, the White House says that President Biden called the Georgia Governor brian Kemp Yesterday and he gave his condolences and offered any additional resources for the community to recover from this tragic shooting, griff. Charges for the accused shooter, four counts of felony murder, but i want to focus on the father here because the charges he is facing are multiple. Four counts involuntary manslaughter, two counts of second degree murder. Eight counts of cruelty to children. There could be more charges coming. Take a listen to what the judge said he could face in terms of sentencing. For a maximum total of possible penalty for the charges that you currently are facing of 180 years imprisonment. Alicia so, brian, we saw parents in michigan in another School Shooting case sentenced to 10 years in prison for the acts of their son. Do you think cases like this, charges like this, will do anything to impact other parents out there to maybe need to speak up, do something sooner . Alicia, great to be with you. Absolutely, 100 , we need these charges against this father. Im not sure if youre aware, but i also was a victim of Gun Violence in the las Vegas Shooting and ill tell you for a couple of years after had a shooting i thought we should try to ban assault weapons, but i got off that track and i dont think that has that has little to do with this. What we need is exactly what youre seeing. Weve got to work from The Inside Out to stop these Mass Shootings. How do we do that . We hold irresponsible parents like this guy whos buying an ar15 for a 13yearold, and a 13yearold who was subjected to alleged abuse, emotional and physical abuse in a home, that may have led him to do this. This is how we begin to stop Mass Shootings. And i believe these charges are warranted and jennifer and james crumbley, like you said in michigan, were convicted and were hoping that that is a deterrent as well. Alicia you know, folks dont know if they if they do know, brian, actually survived the las Vegas Shooting that happened a number of years ago. So we Thank You for sharing that experience. And very curious about what you think on Red Flag Laws if you think they can actually help if people dont participate . Yeah, Red Flag Laws are really important. Lets get off the assault weapon ban, alicia, because people can get access to guns just like they can illegal drugs, right . Weve got to work with Red Flag Laws just so your viewers are aware, you can go in within 24 hours, file a motion with a court and a judge, if you find somebody mentally unstable who has got access to assault weapons, you can get the Law Enforcement to go over to their home and remove those weapons. Here, thats here, look, we had an investigation done a year ago of this family. We need a deep dive into what happened there. Why did Law Enforcement say, theres no probable cause . This kid was allegedly putting on Social Media about doing a Mass Shooting. This is what i mean about working from The Inside Out. Weve got to have better training of law phonement. Vet these people and we need a global universal 50 state Red Flag law. Alicia, even easy things like dogs, right . After the Vegas Shooting, we tried to get dogs in every school and they can sniff out ammunition from a while or two away. Why are democrats trying to blame republicans. As a victim of Gun Violence im highly offended by the democrats coming out after the shooting and saying things like, oh, well, if republicans did the Gun Legislation we would not have that happen. That is absolutely insensitive and degrading to people across this country. This isnt a political, you know, issue to try to garner votes in an election. Alicia you know, brian, i dont have much time left, but wonder if you hit on one thing. People r who arent political who are advocating for better gun storage. That wouldnt have helped in this case if the facts are true. Thats important. Gun storage is important. Its against the law, for example, to have an adult have a gun in the home of a minor under 18 or in some states under 21. We need better laws to make sure that parents are storing both guns and ammunition, alicia, absolutely. I think there are a lot of responses to that. Especially as a jewish student myself, i dont want to discount the seriousness of antisemitism, but i think that the vast majority of claims have been outright deceitful or overinflated. Alicia katie, what are your thoughts on that. Overinflated shes saying about antisemitism on campus . Unfortunately, among this woke culture that has unfortunately brain washed my fellow students to believe there is this binary oppressed and oppressor, there are a few token jewish students who have sadly fallen prey to this narrative, whether thats out of fear of being ostracized by fellow students or for other reasons, i cant speak to their own morality, but its been blatantly clear not only in the task force, antisemitism task force, theres been extreme antisemitism on campus, but also that theres been extreme antiamerican rhetoric being spewed on these campuses. These people have shown a complete disregard for morality, a complete disregard for laws, and what is right and what needs to be upheld in this country and on our campus and the administration has very sadly condoned this behavior and i can say i dont know that student personally, but the student standing next to him was confronted with the idea if he was quote, a Werner Advocating for the total eradication of Western Civilization like Columbia Apartheid divest claims and he was one of the students that believed that. Unfortunately, these people have spewed misinformation, disinformation and just flatout lies for 11 months since the day in israel, that brutal attack on israeli and american civilians. Unfortunately what they say now cant be taken with a grain of salt. Theyre incredible. Alicia and it will mark the October 7th attacks and we know according to the doj theres been an arrest of a man who is Planning Attacks in new York City on October 7th. In upcoming October 7th. And also, in their documentation, the doj says that part of the concern and what this suspect said was that New York is a good place to attack people who are jewish. What is it like for you to be in new York City right now . Its terrifying. Its terrifying as a jewish young woman, but also, its terrifying as an american. I mean, these people have shown over and over and over again with saying things like they are Werner Advocating for the total eradication of western society. They believe that america needs to be, quote, eradicated and eliminated. They believe its evil. They burn israeli flags, but they also burn american flags. Theyre clearly immoral. And they want to spew this godless hateful speech around and we see columbia as a really good example of how this hate gets spewed and condoned when students leave their homes, theyre leaving their parents, who are the moral boundaries, whatever morality they share with their children and come to a someplace where the administration is supposed to serve in that role and when the administration has 18 out of 22 students who broke into a building with hammers, took over their private property, held a poor Facilities Worker Hostage while they streamed for death to America And Death to israel when they have 18 of the 22 students in good standing with the university, it shows that this is morally acceptable at columbia and unfortunately, when the District Attorney in New York dropped those charges against these people who clearly broke the law, and clearly have disregard for the law, and just want to bring Hate And Death to the u. S. , as iran calls the u. S. The great Satan And Israel the little satan and they clearly feel similarly and dropped the charges again them. That shows that this is okay and im not surprised, i was sickened by the reports of the potential terrorist attack, but they believe that quote, Osama Bin Laden did what he had to do and thats what they believe and its going to continue.
