Ive heard people say that we should abandon these institutions because they dont care for the Safety And Wellbeing of jewish students, but i think that is cowardice. The students, as you know it is hard to get in at columbia, so many told me they applied to other places but they wanted to come here to prove a point. She wanted to not change her school at the last minute. How did they manage this now . The reports suggest they saw the idf soldiers coming and they were executed two or three days prior to reaching their point. I think what is happening here certainly is those troops that were in that tunnel were likely there for another purpose. They were probably clearing the tunnel, and they didnt have any intelligence that the hostages where they are. If they did, different troops would have been called in to conduct a specialized operation to attempt to rescue those hostages, and those forces would have been different forces entirely. Much as we saw in june with that brazen and successful rescue of hostages who are being guarded in peoples homes, and in the middle of the night they were able to get them out of there. Of Course Hamas has come out with videos and cartoons trying to demonstrate to the israeli people, to enrage them further and get them more emotionally upset than they already are over the hostages, and showing the hostages when they were alive, and trying to blame all of what took place on the israeli forces. Listen, theres no One House to blame here but hamas, and that clearly is the issue we are dealing with. I dont believe hamas has gotten any more brutal than they were on october 7th, any more brutal than serving up their own population, bill, their own gazan people, absolutely to be killed and wounded. That is what they want and that is what they have been able to achieve. Certainly i think, from the beginning, they knew full well that the israelis are getting close to the hostages. Kill them and try to get away. They likely have emphasized that again as a result of this operation. Bill i dont know if you can see the screen, but i want our viewers should know the area of dispute now. Youve got israel to the east, egypt to the west. See this corridor are down here separates the Gaza Strip from Sinai And Egypt . I will advance at one time. It is about 8. 5 miles. The israelis want to fortify this area. Hamas will rearm and reattack. That is the challenge he is facing and not everybody agrees with that, obviously. The last poll i saw, 49 support what i just said in terms of netanyahu strategy.
