Your family was part of the group that met with Jake Sullivan earlier in the week. Did you hear a message of hope from him . What did he tell you . Well, we heard from him exactly what the President Said today, that they are in the final stages of Coming Up with a deal that they are hoping that hamas and israel will accept. To be honest, you know, we have we have to keep up hope. But we are skeptical. We are not seeing hamas or israel come to the table seriously enough or willing to sign the deal. And unfortunately, we completely identify with our brothers and sisters in israel who are out in the streets who dont feel their own government is doing enough to release the hostages, and in Benjamin Netanyahus statement as Anilating Hamas as a top priority, we are not hearing how that brings our Loved Ones home. Negotiating with terrorists is always a very intricate and challenging process. Do you have a message for omar and his captives if anyone is listening tonight . One of the biggest things that has changed recently is we have this great Power Conflict with china, with russia that is territorial. That brings militaries into play in ways that we have not seen for a long time. Obviously the Middle East is always a source of tension and problem, and irans activity there, their aggressiveness there, and of course, in the asia pacific, there is always north korea. To your point, this essay, the pearls of isolationism. Populationism, Protectionism Ride together. That it is not possible to again leave behind so many of our citizens, when we talk about the macrobenefits of globalization. Now we need to make sure that russia pays a price for what it did so that other authoritarians dont get the idea that territorial conquest comes free. The ukranians are showing remarkable skill and resilience, but they are going to need our help and the help of the europeans. I dont want to be the one that watches Vladimir Putin, and the chinese president on the victory tour. And ping emboldened in the asia pacific. For the people who say we have spent a lot of money there, as you mentioned, got the weapons that ukraine has asked for over there, but that the onus should be on europe in their territory, for those people, what do you say to that . Well, i fully agree that our allies need to do more, all over the world. And the europeans are finally really stepping up in important ways, i do think by the way it is remarkable and probably not what putin had in mind that we have sweden and finland with real capability. The allies should do more, but it doesnt get us off the hook for the things that we should do. We talked about the issues of the day in the state department. We talked a lot about iraq. It is hard to imagine a different Middle East with Suedam Hussain at the middle of it. What happened to israel was an act of barbarity, and sophistication of hamas. They do not represent the wishes of the palestinian people. So the israelis will have to reestablish detureance, and weaken hamas to the degree that they can. Most things that arab states want to see. One thing that changed was a change for the better. Through some quite elegant diplomacy of the trump administration, you got the abraham accords, and the uae, and others were ready to support that. It is moving quickly on its nuclear front, just thursday, iran has further increased its Stock Pile of uranium enriched weapon grades levels. They are moving forward, even as the Supreme Leader says maybe it is time to renegotiate with the u. S. They are a bad actor, how do we deal with them . They are a terribly bad Actor And Anyone that looks for moderates in iran is also delusional. So the only answer with iran is to recognize that never give another penny back to iran from frozen assets. Because what we do know about the money that was returned to iran was that it went mostly to Fund Hezbollah and hamas. Obviously in the middle of a president ial election. Things get heated. How much do you think that Foreign Policy is going to play in the End Game . We didnt think it was going to play in 2004. It did. How much do you think it will play this time around . I think there is some really important questions out there about Foreign Policy, but perhaps the most important one is where we began. How are you going to make sure that a more confident america is willing to play the role that we have in the past of making sure that it is a more prosperous and peaceful world. An 11th Hour move. What do you say . I dont think it is an 11th Hour move. After the convention he went on vacation and now he is out on the trail like he said he was going to do. He did the same thing for Hilary Clinton after 2016. Hitting the same states and the same voting contingent, so i dont think it is next to the 11th Hour, i think this has been the plan since the top of the ticket changed. Byron, Hilary Clinton was not to be fair, Biden Hand selected a candidate to replace him at the top of the ticket. And she didnt win. That was the big problem. Listen, i think that we have seen what we can say without any doubt at all. That democratic enthusiasm is way, way higher than it was before the big switch. I mean all you had to do is look at the event earlier in pittsburgh with this aged and infirm Yelling Biden and Kamala Harris. The contrast was absolutely huge. On the other end, also, if you look at some of the key polls, the state polls, there are a number of states, georgia, arizona and North Carolina that some republicans thought they were in the bag for trump. Not that he is going to lose them, but they are in play. We have to see if the six Week Honey Moon fueled by the media is going to end soon. The Cnn Debate did not inspire confidence. But we will have to see if people see more of her they will think less of her. Lindsay said off the top that trump should focus On The Issues. Rather than the personal attacks against harris and her campaign. So lets Take A Look at what trump has going in his favour right now. Latest Abc Poll showed that harris did not have despite attendance at the dnc did not get a boost in the ratings for that. The other Top Tier plus in trumps corner right now is the latest Wall Street Journal poll shows more americans right now trust him to manage the economy than the Vice President. He is up 8 points she is up 5. As you can see there. Do you agree, do you think he should avoid the personal attacks on Harris And Stick to the issues . Well certainly the personalities have changed but the fundamentals of the race have not. Because the issues that the country still faces are the same. The polling that you referenced tracks with what we are seeing in the Real Clear Politics now. Harris is up over trump by 2 points, and right now among democrats, the vibe is im maculate. Because The Machine is working hard for harris. What i have been struck by is you dont win election inside the summer and you dont win by vibes alone. While this Race Sort of mirrors 2016 with Hilary Clinton who was up 3. 4 points at this point in the race, harris is not taking anything for granted. She is going to michigan and wisconsin. And her entire campaign is set to run as an underdog through the finish line. Both the campaigns now, meghan, Running To what voters appear is an absurd argument. About who is the real underdog here. He made that clear during his remarks thus far and his endorsements to this point, he says that she is the best decision to be the president of the united states.
