this guy is allowed to have shows, television shows. i'm not allow to mention the name. it's so unfair. regardless, you have to -- you have to really play the hand that you are dealt. and then you had a jury that was from a certain persuasion. would have been hard to do, no matter what. but, i did absolutely nothing wrong. i mean, absolutely. think of it. you know, i hate what they say bookkeeping this and that. it's not. it's called -- think of it. expense. i use the word expense. legal expense. i pay a lawyer. he wasn't a fixer. he was a lawyer at the time. i pay a lawyer, and is he a he u lawyer called legal expense. bookkeeper who has been with me for years marks it down as legal expense. i paid a legal expense, it's marked down as a legal expense. they say that's a fraud. they shouldn't have allowed certain people to testify. it was totally i don't think that they did that. everyone tells me this is the easiest case they have seen to overturn but they don't care. they want it to also a until after the election. only problem they have is so far my poll numbers have gone up. pete maybe can explain it to me. maybe will can, they are smart in texas, right? the poll numbers have gone up. substantially. >> will: you changed your tone at some point during the trial. i would say maybe a bit more hopeful in the beginning and toward the end you said something to the effect of even mother teresa couldn't be acquit in the this venue. was there a moment that it turned or you saw it was headed in a certain direction? >> when your lawyers object to something. nice people, you know, i have had a lot of lawyers that weren't nice, and sometimes better off that way. these are fine people. not accepted. not accepted. when the government, meaning the d.a., bragg, when he said something, all right. good. that's fine. go ahead, more, more, more. think of it. but the main thing is this was turned down by the southern district. this is over -- this could have been brought seven years ago. they tried to rush it because they wanted it before the election. this could have been brought seven years ago but they didn't have any intention. a case like this has never been brought before. and never a case where a state has gone after federal election. in other words, that's for like the southern district to go. southern district turned it down. we got clearance from the fec. federal election commission clearance. they are suing saying we violated the thing but they gave us clearance. >> pete: we're going to move on to other topics too. moving forward, they have set the arraignment date for four days before the rnc. >> that's part of the game. >> it is. some have suggested you can appeal straight to the supreme court because of the special nature of this case. when it comes to the legal maze that you are still facing and the judge could decide to say hey, house arrest, or even jail. how do you face what that could look like? >> i'm okay with it. i saw one of my lawyers the other day on television saying oh no, you don't want to do that to the president. don't beg for anything. just the way it is. think of it. they have all my books. they went to -- four five years they sued me getting my tax returns, right? at the end of five years, they got them. the supreme court actually gave it to them. that was the end of it. that was it. they never found anything. >> rachel: some of your supporters have said well, the only way to stop this is mutually assured destruction. if you do it to us, we're going to do it to you. you said no my revenge is going to be success for america. you've just had this verdict. do you still feel the same? what's your thoughts on that? >> it's a really tough question in one way because these are bad people. these people are sick. and they do things that are so destructive, i mean, look what they did from the day i got there -- and i don't know, you know, a lot of people said we have no choice but to elect trump, republicans, because he is the only one that can withstand. this don't forget if it weren't me they would be going after somebody else. i know at love the competition they wouldn't do so well. they wouldn't be doing so well. >> will: you just love life and you care about this country. people can we do you do this how do you do this? not to mention the rally after the rally. the energy. maybe the question how do you do this but how does your family do this? all the object stacks. these are things you care about. your ambitions for the country? what about everybody around you. >> i think on many ways it's tougher on them than me. they are good people, everyone, everyone. i have a wonderful wife who has to listen to this stuff all the time. they do that for this reason, they do that -- all these salacious names that they put in of these people i'm not allowed to department of education myself because of the gag order these with bad people. i know every mo move they make. i get it. but a lot of people don't in many ways it's tougher on my family than it is on me. you know my sons are great. they work hard she has to read that you will crap. >> will: how is barron? [laughter] we appreciate you joining us "fox & friends weekend" after new york. >> steve: that was very, very good. you notice at one point he was alluding to somebody, a witness, he couldn't say name, he's on tv that is because despite the conventional wisdom that the gag order would have ended at the end of the trial, the judge has not officially rescinded it. it's still in effect so he can't talk about witnesses or court people or the jurors. and it sounds like he was careful not to. >> lawrence: well, the most fascinating to me part of the interview was them -- going back to the trump administration, and back to the campaign rallies when people in the rallies used to say lock her up, referring to hillary clinton. >> steve: yep. >> he talks about why he decided not to do it. and so they asked him the question, obviously you just heard about, what would you do now since they targeted you, you let it go. and he talks about it being like a ufc fight of them going back and forth, people fighting back and forth and then they hug at the end of the fight he wanted to do the same thing for hillary clinton. the interesting thing like what should we do moving forward he? goes i don't know how to answer that question. i appreciate him answering that question honestly because he let it go the last time and it looks like now republicans are shifting and saying maybe it they do it to us we need to do it back to them. >> ainsley: he talked about who he is looking for and what is he looking for in a vice president. he said someone who would be a good president, that i would get along with. and who can help you get elected. and speaking of ufc. he was at the fight last night. walked in got a standing ovation and everyone started cheering "we want trump." >> brian: 18,000 people cheering his name and as joe rogan said he has never heard anything like it. very interesting because joe rogan has so much power. he voted for bernie sanders. if you listen to his show, his commentary, his open positive trump because he can't believe how bad joe biden is. i'm wondering if he gets that rogan interview after this. you hear rogan talking and donald trump reaching over and he goes, he said nice see you. he said how are you doing? nice to see you, sir, thank you. and whatever he complimented him. i'm very curious whether you have 18,000 people chanting your name well, it's just fight fans. just fight fans. can you name an arena in america where joe biden would walk into 18,000 people and cheer? let alone 100,000 in wildwood, new jersey, let alone thousands of people in new york city outside of trump tower right after. now, the polls so far they did some snap poll once cbs and nbc don't look as strong right now. got to wait of a few weeks to flush out. wait until after july 11th to find out what kind of sentence he will get over the weekend they were talking about various sentences if he gets house arrests or a situation where he has weekend arrest or if he actually goes to jail for a few months. can you put anything by this judge? that's the fascinating conversation. >> lawrence: i'm not sure he could do the walk. i'm not sure joe biden could walk from behind the arena, go through the crowd like that. >> brian: oh, no. >> steve: he could ride his bike but then again he might fall off. >> ainsley: asked you to send in questions for the weekend crew when they went into this interview with donald trump. we will have donald trump answering some of those questions. >> steve: lots of them. >> ainsley: much has not aired yet that will be in 15 minutes. the three of them are going to join us to hear what trump's opinions are about the border and drilling and future of america. >> steve: we have a very, very busy monday. three full hours and we're going to play a lot of the stuff. if you didn't see it yesterday, you will see it today. >> ainsley: great job to our weekend crew. big get. >> steve: indeed. >> ainsley: turning to your headline. starting with a fox news alert. two nypd officers are in stable condition after they were shot while they were confronting an armed suspect in queens earlier this morning. police confirming one officer was shot in the vest and another in the leg. both of the officers were taken to the hospital, a suspect is in custody. after they were shot in the ankle. and to another alert. hunter biden's federal gun trial will begin in delaware today as jury selection is set to start at 8:30 this morning eastern time. the first son faces three felony charges related to allegedly lying on a federal gun form in 2018. special counsel david weiss claims that hunter checked no to a question asking if he used drugs. a lye report from delaware in just a few minutes. and new overnight, the idf announcing they have found the remains of an israeli paramedic who they thought was kidnapped by hamas. they say he was killed during hamas' attack on october 7th when he left his home to, quote save lives according to military officials. they say hamas is holding his sister hostage. he leaves behind a wife and four children. now to a fox weather alert. a wildfire alert. firefighters are battling that massive fire. it's about 60 miles east of san francisco. more than 400 officials across the state are responding to that fire. it's already torched more than 14,000 acres. two firefighters were hurt and expected to recover. so far the fire is 50% contained. at least one house was destroyed and thousands have been ordered to be evacuated. the wnba is upgrading chicago sky guard kennedy carter's foul against caitlin clark after she knocked clark to the ground. the foul was upgraded from a common foul to a flagrant one after reviewed by the league. carter will not face a fine or suspension. the wnba is finding chicago rookie angel reese for refusing to speak with reporters after the game against indiana. they also find sky $50,000 after reese skipped the post game press conference. i didn't know that all the players have to participate. >> steve: they do. it's a requirement. >> brian: not just in wnba. >> lawrence: i'm here so i don't get fined. >> ainsley: wibut he wouldn't answer the question? alert. shortly this morning, hunter biden's gun trial is going to start in delaware at, let's see, 2 hours and four minutes from right now at 8:30 eastern time with jury selection. the first son faces three felony charges for allegedly lying on a gun application. rich edson is live outside the court house in wilmington, delaware and joins us right now. rich, good morning. >> hey, good morning, steve, well, in the same city that president biden has his re-election campaign headquarters, his son is going on trial just a short time from now facing three felony firearms related charges here in wilmington delaware at this courthouse behind me. you've got the prosecution saying that hunter biden lied when he filled out a gun form back in 2018 on an application to purchase a firearm. hunter's attorneys say they will challenge that assertion. jury selection begins in a few hours about. 250 potential jurors will start this process until they are narrowed down to 12-plus alternates. they will face questions about how they may have followed this case and whether they see a connection between this trial and the fact that hunter's father is the president of the united states. hunter spent the weekend with his dad at a beach in rehoboth. including on bike rides. the president is expected to speak with hunter daily during this trial about two to three times for man usual. that all according to the "new york times." special counsel david weiss' prosecution team has signaled they may call about a dozen witnesses which could also include hunter's ex-wife kathleen buel and hallie biden who is beau biden's widow. beau is hunter's brother. hallie was once involved with hunter after beau's death all meant to build the case hunter was abusing drugs when he filled out that form purchased and possessed a gun. hunter almost didn't makes it to a trial. his attorneys reached a plea agreement that congressional republicans called too lenient. fell apart when the judge appointed maryellen noriega started asking specifics about the deal. with involved hunter's tax charges. that will not be part of the case here. this trial here is only gun possession. the tax trial is set for september. on the eve of trial kicking off. you are the expert about this. i have been readings a lot how david weiss presented it's a very simple case. he lied on the gun form. i have read that apparently his high dollar attorney abbe lowell who is represented many, many people in washington, d.c. what is he going to do is present to the jury two different gun forms. one of them was the original and one was from years later and somebody had written something on it. and it sounds like it may have been somebody from the gun store. is he going to suggest that somebody tamp erred with that and, in fact, just to create a doubt. and so then you have got wonder whether or not that's -- maybe this isn't such an easy case after all. >> well, look, if abbe lowell who is one of the most expensive and the most high powered attorneys in washington he will be trying to throw this reasonable doubt, the prosecution has a good answer for that question about the gun form just an additional driver's license or address added afterwards. abbe lowell is renowned as a jury whisperer. he is going to make this difficult and even though surviving is a trial is pretty low. the odds against donald trump the odds are stacked for hunter biden in this case. interestingly his own laptop that he abandoned and pretended was russian disinformation or stolen from him or hacked or whatever that, is the prime trial exhibit here key witness you witness former love, former sister-in-law hallie biden. she will hold the key, i think, to this case steve plus, in addition to the laptop. they have his memoir that he wrote where he talks about smoking crack. okay. are you telling the truth there or telling the truth here. it will be interesting to see. things kick off two hours from right now with jury selection.
