breaking later this hour, texas governor greg abbott expected to endorse former president donald trump for the presidential nomination during an event where mr. trump and governor abbott will hand out meals to texas service members. also breaking as the idf expanded its ground operations further into gaza, world health organization officials assess the situation in the hospital after they issued evacuation orders for the remaining 2500 people seeking refuge air. let's go live to northern israel where alex hogan has the latest on escalating tensions between israel and hezbollah. >> you can see part of the skylight behind me. there is activity taking place on that side of the border. a few minutes ago, we learned about a potential war cabinet meeting being pulled up by the hour. a lot of conversations about the potential hostage negotiations u.s. and israeli officials have said there is no deal yet. we will continue to monitor. this is a major story. could be coming to fruition. paratroopers from the idf raided the homes of hamas militants. it was last night that they said they would release new evidence inside the largest hospital. it is of the idf going into a tunnel. it looks extremely deep. it almost looks like it could be a while. more should come out in the days about what exactly was found. it seems like there could be a door in the end of that tunnel. a lot of these tunnels are closed off so that hamas can barricade those from being damaged further in keeping this long expansive tunnels connected -- protected from further attacks. in all the cross firing we have seen, two schools have now been hit. growing warnings of the dire conditions for civilians on the ground who were already only eating one meal per day and now that food is running out even more. >> they took this fire would from people so we could they can even prepare a cup of tea. no bread, no food, no water. there is not even flower be met continued crossfire. israel says they are using tanks to retaliate after tax year. firing rockets and antitank missiles this way. here is what the idf says about the iron dome and white is not always intercepting the rockets. >> i would say strategic sites before open fields. that is where the system identifies to not be a threat to civilians or assets. >> it is worth noting most of the towns and cities in this entire region have been completely evacuated where we are. you do not see another soul. >> leading us off the northern israel. many thanks. the national security council pushing back to the report of a brokered deal that would free dozens of children. lucas is live at the white house >> there is no deal get to freeze some of those hostages from gaza. speaking to cbs earlier. >> we are closer than we have been to reaching a final agreement. the mantra that nothing is a great until everything is agreed really does apply. we will not lay out all the details in public. >> there is a chance that the deal could disintegrate. the u.s. forces being attacked over 60 times over the past month. responding with airstrikes just three times. the frustration of some at the pentagon according to the washington post and israel's prime minister blaming iran four hijacking a cargo ship from the red sea earlier. there has been no response, mike , after the rebels in yemen shut down a drone. multiple balc missiles at israel. shooting them down with a narrow three interceptor in outer space working the first time in history combat has ever taken place outside the earth's atmosphere. here is former secretary of state mike pompeo earlier on fox news sunday. >> this administration has always had a soft spot for the islamic republic. we have now seen they have launched dozens and dozens of attacks against americans. we have done almost nothing to be that president biden, the first leader getting ready to depart from wilmington and had to naval station norfolk. a member extended in the mediterranean. she was supposed to be home for thanksgiving. eisenhower replacing ford now in the middle east not far from iran. >> lucas thomason live on the north on. thank you very much. more on the prospects of pausing the conflict. welcome. >> thank you for having me on. >> let's start with president biden op-ed in the washington post. i want to get you to react to it "the united states is prepared to take our own steps including visa bans against extremists attacking civilians in the west bank." he goes on, our goal should not be simply to stop the war for today, it should be to end the war forever. do you think visa bans will do the trick? is there a way to permanently find peace? >> i think the one thing the president said in that op-ed was that the terror can no longer emanate from gaza or from the west bank. we stand side-by-side on that message. we stand side-by-side and saying never again will israeli children have to cower in closets, never again, will israeli mothers have to jump on top of their children to protect them from incoming missiles. never again will hamas savages be allowed to push through our borders and to behead our children. so, on that point, we stand side by side with the american administration and we think the american administration and the people of america for their support. as far as the question about the west bank, pointing out that there are 500,000 residents, israelite residents, 800,000, if you include the eastern parts of jerusalem. there may be 202 act out violence or criminal activities and they are dealt with by the police. >> we just heard the report from the white house about the work on a deal for hostages and a pause for fighting. where do things stand from your viewpoint? >> what we know is that we have had hostages released those for hostages because we have applied pressure on hamas. military pressure, diplomatic pressure and that is exactly what we will continue to do with our mission which is twofold. firstly to fully dismantle the hamas military machine, dismantled their ability to govern gaza as they have done for 16 years. and to free those 240 hostages. we will keep up the pressure because we know the more pressure we apply on hamas the more likely it is that those hostages will be released and we want nothing more than the freedom of those hostages and for those hostages to be reunited with their families in israel. >> if i could play a clip from maryland, crispy and holland had some criticism today and i want to get you to respond, sir. >> i was disappointed to see prime minister netanyahu smacked down president biden's call for a two state solution. this will mean that president biden has to do even more to put forward a clear vision of how we are going to emerge from this very dark tunnel into a brighter future. >> how do you respond? >> this is a question about the day after hamas. a day about talking about the intricacies of the marshall plan before the day. one thing that my prime minister is made quite clear is that it is the day after hamas, the gaza strip being demilitarized, the gaza strip will be de- radicalized and we will begin to rebuild gaza. the palestinian authority has proven themselves. in fact, today they issued a statement denying what happened at that piece festival, at that rave where people were just trying to let their hair down and 360 israelis were gunned down by terrorists. the palestinian authority which was run by a denier putting out a statement denying that the atrocities of october 7 have been speared so, we will have to discuss the day after hamas when that day comes. i hope that it come sooner rather than later. >> thank you for your time, sir. >> big deal. >> these are live images of edinburg, texas where governor greg abbott is expected to endorse former president trumper the presidential nomination this afternoon. mark meredith is live in des moines, iowa, with the latest from a campaign trail. hello, mark. >> good afternoon. resident trumpets in south texas this afternoon handing out food with greg abbott. kind of an early thanksgiving, if you will. within the next hour or so, they will be joining together because abbott is about to give them his endorsement for the presidential run. that comes on the heels of that visit. trump was right here last night in iowa. a new nbc poll out today indicating where they stand with the republican race for the white house. trump dominating among the gop field. this is a national poll, not specific to iowa. leading governor rod desantis of florida. pulling in double digits. talking a lot about the polls. an event in fort dodge. ninety minutes or so outside of des moines. he pleaded with voters to give him a big win. he essentially wants to force the other candidates out of the race. >> you know, if we went by a lot , i think all of these characters cancel out. we just have to get back, we have to be the democrats. we have to stop this nonsense. >> ron desantis showing no signs of backing down. he has held multiple campaign stops with may be his biggest supporter in iowa, the governor of iowa, trim -- kim reynolds. she says she believes desantis message will resonate with the national audience. >> desantis focuses on what is right, not is -- not what is politically popular or easy or convenient. whether it is covid or fighting to get indoctrination out of our schools. >> it is certainly clear that the governor is betting so much on what will happen in iowa to either propel him out of here come up with new strategies. a new campaign office in urbandale. essentially whoever desantis goes, you see the governor not too far behind him. he is also really taking steps to end the evangelical vote which could prove for quite influential in the state. it's coming up fast. >> no doubt about it. thank you very much. joined by communication director aaron and caroline levitt. ladies, welcome. >> thank you, mike. let's start with the expected endorsement from governor abbott is it a big deal? >> the endorsement i want to talk about is the endorsement of kim reynolds he. we have not seen a republican governor in iowa endorse a contested primary since 1996. this is going to make a big deal we saw yesterday while governor desantis was on the trail. they were considering caucusing for trump or nikki haley but because of governor reynolds they came out and saw governor desantis. they heard governor desantis record, his answer in the tough questions, talking to voters in a way that donald trump does not people are saying that they are now caucusing for desantis. that is what it looks like to have a historic endorsement. >> what about governor abbott endorsement? >> the governor abbott endorsement today is huge. donald trump delivered on the border before. donald trump is the best candidate to deliver and secure the border once again. governor reynolds endorsement clearly has not helped very much it is well past time for team desantis to accept the reality that rod desantis has no path to the republican nomination. he is down more than 30 points in iowa. he is running behind chris christie in new hampshire higher he is in fifth place. he is not meeting joe biden in the general election either. nbc news release staple today conducted by ron desantis campaign pollster public opinion strategies and it has donald trump beating joe biden. stop selling this fake reality to the american public. ron desantis has no chance of winning this nomination. he should go back to deal what he is elected to deal which is governed the state of florida. we can take this fight to joe biden who is fundamentally destroying america as we know. >> i want to get to a critical issue, abortion. let's play governor chris christie. >> this is not a federal constitutional issue. this is a state issue, kristin. each state should make their own judgment on this and i think the president are people running for president should not be in a position of taking a certain number of weeks. >> virginia was a wipeout for republican several weeks ago on the issue of abortion. any women turned out basically being single issue voters. the republicans need a better script or a better plan when it comes to abortion? >> republicans need to reject donald trump's belief that it is a bad thing to believe in the pro-life movement. a terrible thing that you have seen states like iowa, florida, south carolina past legislation to protect the unborn in this country. we need apologetic leaders not fearful leaders like donald trump. he does not want to get off the teleprompter, okay, i get that. does not want to debate. cool. good story. iowa is a pro-life state. it means showing up and being able to defend your record for defending life. that is not something donald trump can do because he does not have a core conservative conviction in his body, much like nikki haley when you see her waiver as well when it comes to pro-life. rod desantis is unapologetically pro-life. he has fought for that movement and he has succeeded. fight, lead, win. ron desantis, not donald trump. >> i want to play a clip because we will likely hear from donald trump later this hour. >> not the same guy as trump in 15 and 16. that trump would show up on the debate stage. yes, he was off-color, he was edgy, but it was all part of an identity would really shake things up. now he is wedded to the teleprompter. >> carolyn, how do you respond? >> i would encourage them to come to a trump rally where he is in front of thousands of americans that are fired up to see him every single time. why is he winning with these people? because he knows their lives were a heck of a lot better under his leadership. inflation was 2% and now it is nearly 10%. gasoline was a dollar 90 under president trump. now we are sitting at $5 a gallon. no wars under president trump and now there is unnecessary bloodshed around the world. the american public knows their lives were better under donald trump. we cannot afford to gamble. we do not know how they will react -- >> you rather everybody go for a blame duck resident? if donald trump -- you know what would happen? he would be a blame duck immediately. congress would know it, senators would know. people would not line up behind his policy positions. the american people really want to get this country back on track they need to go with someone that can serve eight years and does not up the drama and noise. >> final word. >> absolutely ridiculous. we need day one leadership. peace through strength. bring america back. he did a before and he will do it again. >> thank you so much. >> thank you, mike. protesters disrupted the california democratic convention saturday calling on the party to demand a cease-fire. watching for new pro- palestinian protests around thee globe this weekend.di globe this weekend.di more on that next. - [speaker] at first, just leaving the house was hard. - [speaker] but wounded warrior project helps you realize it's possible to get out there - [speaker] to feel sense of camaraderie again. - [speaker] to find the tools to live life better. - [narrator] through generous community support, we've connected warriors and their families with no cost physical and mental health services, legislative advocacy, career assistance, and life skill training for 20 years, and we are just getting started. - [narrator] wounded warrior project helped me find the strength to go further than i ever thought possible. - [narrator] i was able to come outta my shell and really connect with others. - [narrator] so i can feel like part of a team, part of the community again. - [narrator] it's possible to live better. - [narrator] it's possible to have a voice and to be heard. - [narrator] to feel understood. - [narrator] to find peace. - because i've experienced firsthand that anything is possible.
