>> without a doubt. what you see history shows that china is never honoring their agreement. what you see is the u.s. slowly, but surely giving way to china to innovate. what you have seen recently, our new beacon for innovation decide to ban gen rative ai technology again giving access to china, the gpt equivalent is deployed across the ccp. we began giving tools away to china. >> carley: the two other deliverables that came out of this meeting are that china agreed to take steps to curb fentanyl production. the goal would be less fentanyl in the united states and also restore military to military communication. do you think those two things are a step in the right direction? [screaming] >> back, back, back. >> carley: wow. one protester was arrested and the capitol was locked down. democratic lawmakers were evacuated as the chaos erupted. brad sherman tweeted, police officers were pepper sprayed and they attempted to break into the building. protesters deny any violence. >> the folks in that building have not been listening to 80% of us to support ceasefire and stop genocide of palestinians and instead of being met with leaders engaging with us, instead of being met with peaceful protest, we were met by police. >> carley: former congressman doug collins will join us. >> todd: a palestinian flag in massachusetts and that is not sitting well with residents. >> is this still the same welcoming town? is this the flag we would like our children to see? the answer must be no. >> is our cause in north andover going to be symbolized as hamas, whose goal is to slay all the jews and eradicate from the river to the sea. >> that flag is being raised in rallies that call for murder. that flag is being used by people -- >> todd: the president of condition gregation in north andover join me now. what does the palestinian flag mean to you? >> the palestinian flag up until october 6, to me, it was just another flag. as of october 7, it is a symbol of antisemitism, symbol of hate and symbol to eliminate the entire jewish population. >> todd: do you feel betrayed by town officials who approved to fly this flag? >> do i feel betrayed? i think they are a bunch of cowards. they took illegal initiative, illegal statement from council that says you need to follow specific guidelines and must raise this flag. in their hearts, i know every single one of them did not want to raise the flag. they put their own personal worries ahead of the town and that is not what leadership does. leadership stands up and says, i'm going to do what is best for my town, that is the platform they ran on. they didn't run a platform on what is best for them, their neighborhood, they did what is best for their town and they just coward and it is most horrible feeling. north andover is incredibly comfortable, friendly, welcoming town. it is not antisemitic. we have a wonderful police department that keeps us safe. man, select board members just wilted under pressure and frankly had already made the decision to say yes, this flag is going up before public comment was heard. >> todd: this is clearly an attempt to not get sued, they allowed the israel flag. what message does this send to your congregation? >> i think a couple plays here. one, if he can meet the high bar demonstrating it was politically motivated and illegal under the constitution and fifth amendment, that would be huge and the spectacle of bringing donald trump and bill barr and rich donahue would be a pr stunt. because of the fact he admitted in his book he possessed this gun illegally, it will be hard to make that showing that a judge is going to bring folks to court. the interesting thing, once the shoe is on the other foot, if donald trump can bring merrick garland and folks in on his case based on the same theory, it will be interesting. most likely judges will clamp down on that and make the witness list more exclusive to facts of the case. >> carley: so much going on when it comes to hunter biden, gun charge, tax issues, the investigation into biden and the biden family business. which are you focusing on most and if you are hunter biden which should be most worry some to him? >> he has to focus on what is in front of him, the gun charges. you have to look that the most serious charge is tax chargeings from 2016 and 2017 have expired and not able to be brought because of statute of limitations. for me, his argument this was politically orchestrated, falls flat because he's taken the benefit of his political connections and not had to face serious consequences for his behavior. right now, the gun charges are most serious, not sure there will be more charges as we move forward because for some reason this current doj does not seem interested or curious about going further in this case. >> carley: matt, thank you for joining us, we appreciate it. >> good to see you, thank you. >> todd: today the house ethics committee set to release what is expected to be a damning report on george santos. the embattled republican digging into the media after receiving the report yesterday. watch. >> i have nothing to say on an ongoing investigation, it is inappropriate to discuss in the media and continuously think i'm going to change what i said. i'm staying in office for sure. >> todd: senate ethics committee refusing to investigate senator bob menendez, who is facing slew of charges, accused of acting as a foreign agent and accepting bribes. he is attending briefings and rejecting calls to -- himself. >> todd: earlier this year the dnc decided to break the tradition and the law of holding first primary election in the granite state opting for south carolina instead arguing it would empower minority voters. biden will not put his name on the ballot. >> i think it is a sad choice and maybe he will run because people in the state want to write his name on the ballot, but maybe he won't and we'll see where that goes. >> todd: democratic senator joe manchin of west virginia announces he is considering a 2024 presidential bid. >> just to clarify, i know you have not made a decision, are you considering running for president? >> violence in are you saying violence? nobody else is covering violence. if anything else, if this had been in anything else besides pro-hamas demonstrators amazing to me. democratic lawmakers would be on the top steps of the capitol yelling this is an attack against the government and democracy and everything else. this is sad when you see chuck schumer avoiding questions where own members and house moneys having to be locked down because of this are kind of violence, don't tell me this is mostly peaceful. these people are not here to have a mostly peaceful protest. it's sad chuck schumer won't come out and say that. >> todd: but why?
