wave after wave of drone and rocket attacks against united states military men and women stationed in the middle east. the enemy, iran-backed groups paid and trained by iran and hitting us at will. they have struck 52 times. we've now hit back three. the third time by the united states marks a significant escalation in the biden administration's retaliation. however, is it effective? i'm harris faulkner. you are in "the faulkner focus." a defense official is telling fox news six iran-backed terrorists were killed. the pentagon yesterday announced u.s. war planes hit a training camp and safe house in syria. the response only after -- look at the map -- dozens of hits on our troops. remember i gave you the number. 52 so far. that changes every few hours. sadly. and all of this since october 17th. four of those attacks came after the most recent u.s. strike, retired four star general jack keane weighing in. >> the focus certainly changed. this is the third strike and this time the focus was on people, a training center and safe house. i don't know if it's going to be effective. i would want it to be effective as everybody does. my sense is it will not be. it's not comprehensive just dealing with the proxies themselves. go after the leaders, go after the firefighters, go after the rockets, missiles, drones, go after all the infrastructure. do it all at once in one night well within u.s. strike capability. >> harris: a general who is still in charge, it sounds like. a battle plan. retired navy captain brent sadler has one, too in "focus" with me. first fox team coverage. alex hogan on the ground in northern israel. let's begin with mark meredith outside the white house. >> good morning. the headline at this hour is there were six iranian proxy fighters killed in the air strikes targeting the people carrying out attacks on u.s. forces serving throughout the middle east. at least 50 attacks within recent weeks carried out against u.s. forces serving in iraq and syria. the biden administrations said they would hold iran accountable. they happened in eastern syria. a military headquarters and training facility. the strike appears to have taken out a weapons storage facility on the property. iran and its militias continue to launch attacks including some just last night. the u.s. has 2500 forces still in iraq, 900 in syria. those service members who have been under constant attack from drones and rockets and while so far no u.s. service members have been killed, dozens have suffered minor injuries and some traumatic brain injuries. >> we will take all necessary measures to protect our troops. the safety of our troops and our civilians are of utmost importance to the president of the united states and to me. so we will do what's necessary to protect our troops. i would further say, peter, these attacks must stop. if they don't stop, then we won't hesitate to do what's necessary again to protect our troops. >> there will be a growing debate about what will be necessary for president biden as you can see he returned moments ago from delaware. he is at the white house today and off to california tomorrow. growing pressure on the white house to do more to hold iran accountable. the democratic allies on the hill say the measured approach is working. >> i think by placing both a carrier group in the red sea, eastern mediterranean announcing we sent a submarine. we don't normally announce that. bombing some of the facilities outside of iran, i think it's terribly important. >> while there is so much focus on these attacks so far the pentagon said there is no indication any hostile action that brought down a helicopter over the weekend in the mediterranean the took the lives of five soldiers serving overseas. investigation is underway. they believe it was an accident during a routine air refueling mission. we look to see if the president has anything to say about this when he welcomes inindonesia yeas leader to the white house today. >> harris: is anybody talking about the injuries? >> it comes up. there was a u.s. contractor serving overseas who had a heart attack. he was told there was an attack coming and he had a medical issue and collapsed and died while he was over there. while there haven't been any service members killed imagine the repeated attacks and stress on the service members doing a dangerous job day in and day out. >> harris: i've been reading some of their interviews. pretty severe. you don't hear the white house or president mention that. they don't contemporaneously give us anything. we find out after the fact. you don't have to give us names. we would like to know what is happening. they aren't just boots on the ground. they are men and women serving. mark meredith, thank you very much. israel's war on hamas terrorists grinds on. gaza's largest hospital now at the center of that battle. and it has caused thousands of palestinians to flee for their lives. their own people living amongst them, hamas terrorists, put them in harm's way. innocent patients are still inside some of these buildings and the idf is trying to help them get out. here is what's been posted. a video saying our troops risked their lives to hand deliver 300 liters of fuel to the hospital for urgent medical purposes. hamas forbade the hospital from taking it. the israel's prime minister clapped back on the war crimes accusation. >> it is hog wash. the main difference is are you deliberately targeting civilians? no, we're deliberating doing everything in our power to target the terrorists. that's clearly what israel is doing. what clearly hamas is doing is the opposite. i think any civilian loss is a tragedy and the blame should be placed squarely on hamas. >> harris: let's go to the northern part of the country now, the border between israel and lebanon. and this is interesting to note today. i've been asking is this now officially becoming a second front in the war? so israel's northern border with lebanon, hezbollah terrorists launched missiles yesterday injuring several israeli civilians. the most violent day there since the start of the war. alex hogan is in northern israel now. alex. >> hi, the country's defense minister traveled to this part of the country warning hezbollah if it continues with these escalations and these attacks the idf could do to beirut what the idf has done to gaza. very strong words here. there is a lot of tension on the ground especially as these incoming air strikes continue. >> hezbollah has a more developed military. they developed the warfare since the last war on the rockets and launches and basically all the military abilities they have. >> idf in northern israel. these were all fields converted to ammunition bases targeting hezbollah sites on the other side of the border in lebanon. this has become the most deadly conflict here on the northern border of israel and lebanon since 2006. for the safety of these soldiers this location is undisclosed. in the air fighter jets are striking hezbollah weapons structure and they're watching the horizon for cross border attacks. >> hezbollah is a different story than hamas at the southern border. >> the war in gaza the idf said it found new hamas bases in university and mosque, it's under the area's largest hospital. the world health organization is warning that electricity has been out for days and hearing in the last three days 32 patients in that hospital have died including three nicu babies. world leaders in other countries are pledging to send ships to this part of the world as makeshift hospitals just off the shore and we're learning the first one a ship from turkey carrying medical equipment has now arrived at the rafah crossing on the egypt side. >> harris: almost 40 days in and finally some help arriving from other arab nations around the middle east. thank you very much. in "focus" now retired navy captain brent sadler, former pentagon official, senior fellow at the heritage foundation. want to tick down points with you. welcome to the program. first of all, is it fair to start asking about a potential second front to the north in israel as they fight hezbollah terrorists in lebanon? >> it could ratchet it up with israel. >> harris: i'm thinking hezbollah, you said hamas. and what is their capability actually? i know it's north of 150,000 missiles and they are already targeting israeli civilians. is there some sort of coordination do you think between hamas and hezbollah? >> well, it is no secret they've met both hamas and hezbollah met in the months and weeks leading up to this attack of october 7th and continue to coordinate today. it is fair to assume there is coordination ongoing. i would add to the mix the igrc specifically. the numbers of weapons and missiles that hezbollah had if you add into those attacks from hamas, it runs the risk of israel running out of munition and going winchester. if that happens israel has less ability to defend against the attacks and hezbollah has the ability. >> harris: capitol hill has to get it together. more fighting against our men and women stationed in the region. if we pop up that map you can see how many areas that the enemy can target. the wall street jerne -- journal saying they have hit us 52 times. we've hit them three times. and written before this latest strike iran's militia's try to kill americans and the u.s. targets ammo dumps. is that fair? >> absolutely. at this stage posturing and giving words through diplomacy is not enough to stop the attacks. doing 1 or 2 pinprick on empty buildings or a place where you may have a small gathering of proxy forces is not enough. you have to go after the leadership. senator warner is getting it wrong. not simply the positioning of the carrier strike group and submarine with 154 tomahawk cruise missiles that deters. this administration needs to show it is willing to use its full force to deter further attacks. >> harris: i get more confused when i hear people talk. austin says we'll do what's necessary to protect our troops and then they don't do that. nine americans, 3-year-old among them, hostages. your quick thoughts. >> i think americans need to remember that hamas has killed also dozens of americans in their october 7th attack and currently holding those nine and perhaps a 10th if you add in the green card holder also in the count. >> harris: we pray for their release and that they are okay right now. brent sadler, thank you very much. let's talk about the hostages as we do each day on the "focus." we've seen people tearing down those posters but we want to keep their faces and families in focus. hamas terrorists holding 240 hostages. here are a few of them and you can help the activists who put out these posters, the artists we had on set a couple of weeks ago. one brought to tears about the fact that people are taking down the information as fast as they can put it up. download and print from their website and post these faces and names in your community. keep them front and center. kidnapped from israel.com. here are some of the names. a 59-year-old israeli. an 85-year-old israeli. look at that little one with his puppy. a 12-year-old israeli. we pray for them all. president biden back on the world stage this week and a high stakes meeting with china's president xi. critics are calling on biden to hold the communist leader's feet to the fire. yeah, we'll be perched with popcorn for that. plus the republican presidential field just got a bit smaller. >> i am suspending my campaign. i think the voters who are the most remarkable people on the planet have been really clear that they are telling me not now, tim. >> harris: senator tim scott is out but some are pushing others to get out as well. they say it's the only way to truly challenge former president trump. tammy bruce in "focus" next. with 32 years in the navy, i know personally what it means to be deployed and how much we want to put down roots when we come home. as a veteran, you've earned the right to apply for a va home purchase loan, with no down payment. with the newday va loan, you don't have to save up to move up. helping veterans buy a home of their own. that's what we do. from newday usa. welcome home. ♪ unnecessary action hero! ♪ -missing punches? >> it is very difficult. i want to see the campaign. the other point we haven't made here is donald trump. it is not clear to me that he has the credibility outside of his core supporters in the republican party to offer leadership to america. i have great doubts about joe biden. i hope the third parties are able to sort themselves out. i hope, but -- >> harris: you are even betting trump. i never thought i would hear you say that. you are betting everybody. let me move to this. the president's growing list of challengers could continue to grow. you just mentioned senator joe manchin, third parties, independents. manchin announced last week he won't seek re-election in west virginia. the white house reportedly pushed him to run again but without success. he has not ruled out a third party run. some democrats are warning manchin against getting in. >> my message to joe manchin is i thank him for his service. i think he has had a career of distinguished service both as a governor, senator. i would urge him not to mar his legacy by getting involved in something so foolish. >> harris: another democrat says it could be a good thing. >> i wouldn't worry about him running as a third party candidate. i draws more votes from donald trump than he does from joe biden. >> harris: cassie, i highly expected doug schoen to say i'll still vote for biden. we got everything but. is senator manchin, could he be an anything but biden? >> doug really underscored the sad state of affairs for the democratic parties and the fight with presidential prospects. anyone who doesn't hear joe manchin third party candidate and think ross perot spoiler candidate is fooling themselves. this is a problem that will impact joe biden and democrats as we talked about the polls being so close. he doesn't have any room to have somebody come in and infringe on his territory. joe manchin has voted 88% of the time with joe biden. he is a democrat. >> harris: quickly, maybe i can hit you both. i do want to hit the race and gender issue with you. doug, i'll come to you. if not kamala harris what do you do about all that de and i and all the diversity talk inside your party? >> i think if joe biden doesn't run it will be kamala harris. her position as vice president and the fact that it will be late in the process that joe biden pulls out. >> harris: none of that has to do with anything she has done. no merit, nothing. >> that's true. >> harris: great to see you both. the five annual patriot awards in tennessee two days away. pete hegseth is hosting and on thursday november 16th i will have a live audience for "the faulkner focus" at the historic grand ole opry house. come and join me. oh my goodness, a couple days from now i will see you. check out the website on the screen. log onto fox nation.com/patriot awards to get your tickets today. we have some very special guests. i'll name one, can i name one?
